What happens when someone returns to find a home and meets another who is lost in the home she already has?
Raistlin: -is pushed out- I haven't been here in a while.
Vesna: *looks up again hearing someone nearby, nearly gasping at Raitlin's bright colors and clears her throat* How- How long is a while? *immediately covers her white eye with her bangs*
Raist: -walks closer to Vesna- A few months, maybe more. -shrugs- And who might you be?
Vesna: Months. That is a while. Oh... My name is Vesna. *barely able to raise her head high enough, looking demurely at his chin* And yours?
Raist: Yes it is, especially since I haven't been around that long either. -grins a little- I'm Raistlin.
Vesna: Raistlin. *smiles* That's a nice name. Does it mean anything?
Raistlin: Feel free to call me Raist if you'd like. -smiles some- I'm not sure if it means anything, though I know I'm named for someone. Does your name mean anything?
Vesna: *smiles and nods* Okay, Raist. *tilts her head* Well, someone once told me it's a type of word for spring. Which is odd since I was born in the fall. *giggles softly*
Raist: Well it’s a lovely name. -smiles when she giggles- So what are doing around here?
Vesna: Thanks. *blushes a little* Me? I'm just making this for a friend. *indicates the knitting in her hands* It's such a nice day out after all. Thought I'd come outside.
Raist: It looks like it’s going to be wonderful. -looks around for a moment- It is such a lovely day isn't it.

"Well, thanks again." Vesna fingered the unfinished vest gently. The vest was being made for a friend of hers, and she'd been working hard. Until now, she'd been nearly uncertain of it's acceptability. Shaking her head at herself, she peered up through her bangs with her good eye, the bad eye still carefully hidden, and still unable to pass the male's chin with her gaze. "If I may pry, what has kept you away for so long?"

"No problem, whoever you are giving that to will really enjoy it." Raist grinned for a moment and stepped forward, for he had been standing a few feet back from her. He glanced at her, noticing her unsteady gaze but not asking of it. "Why have I been gone? I've just been out exploring some really. I have no attachments to anywhere, though I guess I'm out looking for such I think."

"It's possible. I hope he does." She smiled affectionatly at the vest before looking back up(ish) at Raist. "Exploring? That sounds interesting." She chuckled softly. "I never get very far from home. There seems to be always something to do with dad at home or happening at the market. This is one of those more relaxed days so I can finish this."

"Possible? He will, something made by hand is always great and especially when made with care." He grinned for a moment, noticing her not making eye contact. "I've never really had a home, it must be nice to have one." Raist dipped his head down as to try to look her in the eyes. "I'm not bothering you, am I? From your knitting that is?"

Vesna smiled again before looking off to the side. "Someplace to call home is always good to have. I know some who think otherwise, but I like having a house." Blushing a little when he came down closer to her level, she plucked at one of the long needles shyly, hurrying her reply. "No. Not at all. I can knit and talk at the same time." Slowly, she tilted her head so that she could look at him with her good eye, feeling unusually concious of her white eye. Seeing the handsome taur's face caught her breath. She was being standoff-ish to him?! Smooth....

Keeping his head down still her smiled some. He would like to find some place to make his own home sometime, and perhaps settle down one day too. "True. Though I'll have to find a place to make my home then. I've little friends so I guess it could be anywhere." A small grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. "That is good to know." It seemed that the other was opening up some to him, though there was something about her eyes that he couldn't make out.
He had barely noticed that she had caught her breath, did he do that? He stayed at her level but moved forward slightly. "I do not with to pry, but am I making you uncomfortable?"

Vesna smiled ruefully. "Actually, I need to find a house too. I live with my dad and his new family right now. I'm starting to feel a bit in the way..." He smile softened. "Many places around here are nice to make a home though. It shouldn't be so hard." Her chest tightened slightly when Raist moved closer, his bright features even clearer. "No." She managed to squeeze out one word, her head shaking back and forth. Uncomfortable was not what he was making her... Not at all. While shaking her head, the flop of bangs uncovered from her injured eye, the pure white of it showing clearly past the edge dark hair. Since it was a blind eye, she couldn't tell that it had been revealed, and was now at Raist's mercy.

A thought tugged at his mind for a moment but he shook it away. "I'm sure that you are not in their way, have they actually said so? If you were hesitant to leave them, you could always make your home close to them." Raist smile. "I may make my own home this area, it is ... nice." His smile widened.
He felt sure that he was the reason for her acting and retreated that inch he moved forward. His eyes blinked slowly but his smile remained. At the uncover of her eye he made no outward show that he saw it. From the look he could tell that she was blind, but why he wondered. "I dislike to pry again but, may I inquire as to what is wrong with your eye?" His hand reached out slowing to the right side of her face.

Her head shook stiffly, still struck by his looks and nearness even as he retreated a little. "N-no. They haven't. I just... feel like it." Watching his smile widen, she had to resist the urge to blurt out encouragement to make his home here and how wonderful that would be. Her eye? She gasped and a hand flew up to her eye, feeling the hair that had vacated its post. Her other hand clung tightly to the vest. "I- it- er-" Why was she stuttering? She had come to terms with her eye long ago.... "Injury. Long time ago. Sorry. Usually better. Me, I mean." She babbled out, face turning red from embarassment. Why was she acting like this with him?! No one else made her stutter so! Though, now that her head was up, she couldn't bring herself to pull it back down, eye locked on the male's face, pleading for forgiveness.

He felt almost like he was frightening to her, but that wasn't it, there was something else. His retreating stopped. "Well as long as they are not kicking you out." Raist wanted to ask why she felt she needed to move if she wasn't being asked to but left it for now. Part of the reason he was in this area this day was to look about for a place to live and was increasing liking this area.
His hand stopped short when her own flew up to her eye, his hand hovered close to hers. From the reaction he thought at first that her eye was an uncomfortable topic. "It does not bother me at all. I'm sorry that I asked, since it made you uneasy, I'll not mention it again if you do not want me to." Raist smiled assuringly, the fact that her face was turning red was also quite amusing.

Vesna closed her eyes tightly, counted backwards from ten and began to calm again. Her thoughts rationalized, and the heat in her face flared anew. He probably thought she was a nut the way she was acting. "I'm sorry." She said softly, eyes still closed as she didn't trust herself to look into those crimson eyes of his and stay calm. "I believe I've made an absolute spectacle of myself... It's really not a big deal..." She wanted to tell him what had happened, but now felt silly about it. It wasn't any harrowing story of bravery and nobility. It was a silly childhood accident.

Raist moved back slightly and retreated his hand. At first he thought he had upset her, from her act of closing her eyes. He took a guess that she was calming herself as her face's color returned to normal. Though not a nut, he did think her odd, but cute. "It is not a problem." He was intrigued that her eyes remained closed as she spoke again. "You did perhaps a little, but you can tell me if you want to but if you don't it is fine." Though her eyes were still closer, he brought his hand out and raised her lowered chin. Raist smiled a bit.

Feeling her chin lift without her say so, her eyes opened slowly. A blush graced her cheeks, though it didn't spread from there and remained soft pink. What kind of man was this before her? Her mind reeled at his smile, but she somehow was able to speak, the short version of the story coming automatically. "I was just a child. It was the fall festival, the night for bat painting. I somehow got my hands on one of the crazed bats and it came at my face, cutting near my eye. I got an infection from it. By the time a cure was found, my eye was permanently damaged..." While she'd been talking, her protective hand had lowered, revealing the white eye. Her indigo eye remained locked onto Raistlin, indulging itself in his kind and beautiful face. "I told you it wasn't a big deal." She said breathlessly, though the vice around her lungs seemed to relax.

A small blush went across his own face. He did not know what was up with himself. Usually he did act like this, but not this bold. He had no idea where the idea of lifting her chin came from. Raist was slightly relieved when she opened her eyes and started to speak. A small smile tugged at his lips. "I thank you for telling me, it seems that you have gotten over it. It must have been frightening as a child to lose that vision though." He realized that his hand was still on her chin and started to remove it and pull it away. "Sorry."
