The sun bore down on Mauja, and he felt as though he could melt into a chocolatey paste. He had finished raiding wild dog dens for the day, and couldn't think of a thing to do for fun anymore.
Wandering over towards a tree, he decided that jumping out of it a few times would keep his mind preoccupied, and he latched onto its side with his claws, shimmying up the tree's trunk.

Satomi had spent so much time wandering these lands now that they confused her somewhat. The lions here were unexpected. Females who acted like males. It was very strange. She was confused, things didn't seem to make sense in this mortal world.
She moved around slowly, allowing herself to take in her surroundings. This world it seemed so alive but yet so strange. She moved quickly and then slowly, allowing her paws to feel the earth shifting underneath as she moved. It was strange she was sure the mortal world was so different.
As she moved, she spotted the cheetah. She watched it for a while. She had never seen such a thing, it had such long legs!

About to hurl himself from the tree, Mauja's eyes shifted, catching a movement out of the corner of his eye. Distracting himself for a tad too long, his front paws slipped from the branch that they had been standing on, Mauja tumbled head first down onto the ground.
Regaining his composure, Mauja found himself staring straight at the creature; it was beautiful, but somehow seemed out of place.

Satomi couldn't help but giggle as the cheetah seemed to just fall out a tree. She watched it some more, it really did have long legs. She had never seen such a thing before, which of course made her all the more curious!
"Hello there!" She called out with a smile on her face. She assumed it would be able to talk to her like a normal lion. Maybe it was a deformed lion? It was possible she guessed though still she had never heard of such a thing. Odd.

Was she actually........approaching him? Most females would keep their distance from Mauja- in fact, many males did the same. It was something about his odd nature, his way of doing everything spontaneously, and his uncanny way of putting himself and everyone around him in awkward danger.
"Eh....hello." Mauja straightened himself out, trying to look decent for this new face that was brave enough - or just crazy enough - to come over to him. "Well don't you look a little out of place." he eyed the lioness up and down as he came nearer, trying to figure her out.

"What are you?" She blurted out. She really hadn't seen anything like him before and so, well she wanted to know what he was! She looked him over a couple of times. Nope he wasn't a lion, his legs were just too long. Maybe he was a messed up lion who was just born wrong? Maybe...
"You have such long long legs..."

"Yes, they are quite wonderful." Mauja gazed down at his pride and joy, covered with lean muscle.
After dousing his legs with his eyes, Mauja realized that she actually didn't know what he was. He wiggled his brow a bit, in slight confusion. "You mean you seriously don't know what I am?" It made him laugh; this lioness seemed like she was from a totally different planet, not only in appearance, but also in the head, as Mauja had just come to find out.
"I'm a cheetah, you silly girl." He had now moved right in front of the lioness, gazing down at her with a smug grin.

"Silly? I am not the one who is silly. Look at you!" She wasn't overly keen on being silly and what an earth was a cheetah? She had never heard of any such thing. She continued to look at him. Yep he was some sort of mutated lion, that was her decision. Why else would he look so odd? Obviously didn't eat much either, he was so skinny.
"You need to eat. It's not healthy to be that thin."

Oh my, there was something wrong with her. The one time he finds a pretty girl, and she thinks he's too skinny? Usually, that was the furthest thing from a female's mind when they were critiquing him.
"Darling, I'm supposed to be this way." He looked down at his legs, laced with lean muscle. "In fact, the ladies usually like that I'm thin." he mumbled under his breath.
Mauja moved his front paws so they gently rested on top of the female's, pinning her in place while he stared at her. "Would you like me more if I was thicker?" he leaned in, whispering in her ear.

Satomi shook her head. He wasn't right, there was nothing about him that seemed well, right. She was wrong, too skinny, legs too long, face wrong shape. There was a lot of things that were just wrong!
"Thicker? With those legs you would fall over. No you would look better if you were more lion like." She just stated her opinion. She wouldn't be one to fall for a cheetah even if she did know that he was a cheetah and not just some strange mutated creature.

"More lion-like?" Mauja leaned back, a puzzled look on his face. He stopped playing his little games with the lioness and sat back on his haunches.
"Lion-like?" he raised an eyebrow to her, still dumbfounded. "You mean you want me to be just like those boring meat-packs that roam the savannah?" he scoffed at the idea, his true colors starting to emerge.
"Honey, you must be crazy to think that for one second lions are better than cheetahs." He flicked his tail to the side, not enjoying her thoughts anymore.

"I believe I am a lion and I am better then you." She stated as matter of factly and then changed to her mortal disguise. She looked pretty much the same but her hair was gone and she was a little smaller.
"Bet you can't do that!" She smirked happily at herself. She wasn't generally a mean spirited lioness as she was rather naive and innocent about most things but she was a lion and they were, without doubt the best. After all this cheetah-thing had horribly long legs. Nope they weren't nice, not at all.

My, had Mauja found himself an oddity. He was happy, though, because she wasn't trying to force her idea upon him. At least, it didn't seem that way.
"Sweetheart, no normal thing can do that." he laughed, moving closer to her again. "But it's alright, you're still gorgeous." he had now returned to playing his little games, seeing what a lioness such as this would do if he kept on.

"I am very normal thank you. You are the one who isn't." She also then snorted at the gorgeous comment.
"Well I know I am but can't say the same for you, those legs are really unattractive!" She nodded as she spoke as if it was just a well known fact she was saying.

By this point, the overly flirtatious cheetah had given up on this strange lioness.
"Unattractive?" he mused, laughing partly because he had never been deemed unattractive by a female before, so he just tossed this strange lioness in the "crazy pile" in his mind.
"Well, I suppose you're entilted to your opinion." a smirk was still upon his maw, as he was now just going along with whatever she said.
