So I was at my sister's school for a dance performance the other day, and she was talking about her step team. Well, she made a comment that step and dance would be a sport next year. Seriously? If those can be sports, how come marching band can't? It is way harder then any of those. All step is is dancing around with music playing in the background, basiclally. its hiphop.

I think it's ridiculous how schools don't consider marching band a sport. Goshdarnit, some of the band members themselves don't. I get pissed when someone says that it's easy. Those band members are just like 'ehhh it's alright'.
Anyway...yeah. It should be a sport. We get recognition on the announcements just like all the rest of them!

Phantom of the Forum Anyway...yeah. It should be a sport. We get recognition on the announcements just like all the rest of them! Most of the time. My BD has to say announcements about it personally because they "forget" to write it in the script(One of our monitors does anouncements because he has a voice exactly like a steryotype announcer0.o)

I'm south of Dallas TX so i cont know if its the same for y'all, but band counts two d word a athletic and fine art credit, so i kinda see it like a better that sport thing with less paparazzi. it would be nice to have band competition pep rally's for the band, played by another band.

marching band is considered a sport because of the physical reguirments and because of the fact that we compete and go to state just like a football team and whatever...it has been looked on as a sport...well in Texas it is...

i was talking to this lady one time, and i told her Marching band should be a sport. she said "Really?" Me: Yeah. we use EVERY part of our body in perfect unison, while being in perfect unison with each other. Lady: OMG, i never knew.
The wonderful powers of persuasion.
