Personality

Tulgey is a Sprightly and savvy fellow with a near constant smile, living out in the wooded, wild areas, feeling as if he is king of the territory he prowls. He thinks of himself as a ladies man, and can be rather charming when he so desires. However, those who spend a long time with him start to realize something is.. Off.

The Jokester has a twisted, wicked side to him, and when things don't go his way, while the smile remains, he gets 'twitchy' and often times violent. Which often leads to him going off on his own, no longer welcome. Though, contrary creature that he is, he'll simply claim he was bored. He also claims he gets his nature by being the offspring of a Cheshire cat and two roses, but since that is physically impossible its more likely he's either a compulsive liar or completely insane.


On occasions though, he may become madly obsessed about a particular person or thing that impresses him with their wit and cunning, and will cater to their every will.. As long as they stay his and do whatever he wants when he wants them to do it. If the person of his obsession does not do what he wants, he treats them like a child who disobeyed their parents. Should this unfortunate soul attempt to escape, he'd likely chase after them and try and trap them to be with him 'forever'.

However, sometimes he's kind, almost sweet, seeming to be a hurt individual with his mind somewhat scattered and searching for something that has gone missing in his life. He often fills this void by collecting things.

-Has a Soft British accent and often uses the Slang.

- He suffered some brain damage when he was still a young colt which is the source of not only his unstable mind, but also of his accent, since he has 'Foreign Accent Syndrome'. Meaning that any offspring he has may (or may not) be stable and sane.. Depending on what happens to them and who the mother is.

-Sometimes suffers hallucinations, but doesn't realize it. The most common hallucination is that of a large grinning cat in the place of his own shadow. Because of this, he thinks he's a cat in the guise of a horse, though will often 'play along' as if he thought he was a 'real' soquili.





Territory


The map to the right are the area's Tulgey usually explores, but on Rare occasions he'll venture into other areas.

Tulgey's "woods" are in the foothills of the Western Mountain Range, near the ravine. Here, so high up in the forested mountains, the terrain is dangerous and unstable, pocketed with rabbit Warrens, crumbling rock slopes, tight tree growth, sudden drops into the young river, which is prone to Flooding in the Spring, becoming white rapids. And there is plenty of signs that the terrain had claimed the lives of many soquili, bones buried and unearthed by the turn of seasons. However, Tulgey had lived his entire life in this area since his family got separated.

However, he does wander from there regularly, though surprisingly he often spends the winter in a cave in his territory, stores of plants set into the cave and consumed over the winter, rather then moving south into warmer territory.

He will often follow either the River or the edge of the mountains to new locations, using them as a basis for figuring out where he is headed. He also has a cave in the desert side of the mountains where he keeps trinkets in a safe location

Personality

In the Cliff notes edition: a Frabjous (Aka 'fair', Fabulous, and Joyful.) Troublemaker.

Praetoria, or Prae for short, is an energetic and playful girl, and gets into everything. She delights in causing mischief and, while she'll easily back off when told 'no', she's often encouraged by her father, Tulgey, who enjoys her free spirit. Her usual foil is Kaliska, a meditative and unusually mature foal Tulgey partially adopted, who, despite her petite size in comparison to Praetoria, has enough command that the girl will usually listen.
She doesn't venture far from Kaliska's side or from Acotas Cabin, where Tulgey had left her basket for care, but she practices skills she will need for sharing her fathers territory, using fallen trees and rocky riversides to practice walking on unsteady terrain.

History
It had only started as a game. Tulgey had found a mare abused by her human owners, and wanted to see if he could woo her out of the insanity she had plunged into, craft her into something with a better ego, use that madness and set it on the world.

However, he then got her pregnant.

For all he knew, this was the first time he had ever gotten a mare pregnant -- he's played with and woo'd several before, but that he knew of none had ever actually bared offspring. He wasn't even sure it was physically possible, since he was convinced he wasn't the same species - since, in his own insanity he thought he was just 'hiding' as a horse, but was really another creature all together- and yet... Tulgey had been with her the whole time it could have been conceived. It had to be his offspring.

And he knew that she was even more unstable then he was -- any offspring they produced would be in danger. If not from her, from himself.

However, The Cheshire Horse couldn't leave her alone with them. So, he stole two baskets that had been set aside for future births, blank and unpainted, and hid nearby Daniella, watching her, keeping her from hurting herself or the unborn foals, and when she abandoned them, gently tucking them away in baskets. Hiding one to wait for his return, he whisked one away, on swift on his feet to the hermit Acotas.

He thought nothing could get between him and the second basket, but fate, it seems, had other plans, as a harsh summer storm blew in, the winds blowing dangerously and thick heavy pelts of rain washed through in a torrential downpour, blinding the stubborn soquili as he continued to travel up into the mountains, moving slowly. The run had taken him nearly two days to go down, and he wasn't going to let the dangers stop him.

However, as he stood in the spot where he had left the child, the next day, dripping with sweat and rainwater, leaves and branches tangled in his hair, all there was was the wash of flowing water, and a torn fragment of basket caught in the branches, "..N-no... No." He followed the flowing marks of mud and rock, and scrapings of the basket on the forest floor, stopping as it ends on the crumbling wall of the river ravine, horror on his face, "... Heh...."

His eye twitched as he began grin, peering down at the churning waters below, "Heheheh... HEHEHEHE HAHAHAHAH!" he laughed madly, eyes wild as he charged along side of the river, eyes glancing down at the water.

At the edge of a cliff, he roared in laughter, until it broke down in sobs, drowned out into silence by the roar of the nearby waterfall. Laying down, his body worn and exausted. the Striped Stallion looked over the wilds of the lands, unable to see the distant ocean, and finally closed his eyes, morning for what he felt may have held his sanity.

Acotas, meanwhile, pulled her canoe up inland to her half-constructed Chickee, tieing it up on the floorless, wallless building. She was lucky that she at least had the roof before the illness took Her siblings away from her. She had to learn how to make a Teepee from the locals, since none seemed to know how to or willing to learn how to build a Chickee to help her. Palms were not common, either.

Sighing softly, she helped guide the tiny young foal she had found sleeping under her canoe after she had beached to weather the horrible storm of the days before, alone, cold, and frightened.

She wasn't, however, expecting to see another basket, unpainted but wiggling with something live inside it, tucked away into her garden as she walked towards her small, birch tree bark covered home, "what the..."

Sighing softly, she settled the speckled, unfamiliar foal in some blankets on the floor of her tent, and returned out to the garden, looking for any sign of its mother, before carrying it carefully into her home.

Personality
Kaliska isn't good... Or Evil... But rather just a neutral person balanced precariously between two vast extremes.

She tries very hard not to be too much of either, fearful that it will drive her to start flopping back and forth between the extremes and driven to madness. So, instead, she tends to be disconnected from the rest of the world, quiet and meditative. However, she hasn't developed enough to truly have any sort of full personality.

History

After a pairing of Arcana and Parixaeus, Acana had to leave her new herd (where her true mother came from) in order to have them, since the father lacked wings, thus not insuring the offspring would be allowed to be part of the herd.

At first it seemed promising, however -- the other two foals had wings, one even a rare throwback to one of the parents Wind soquili ancestors. However, Kaliska emerged wingless, a half-Kalona like her father.

Kaliska was odd, to say the least, for even a half-Kalona, however. It seemed her fluttercorn sister had gotten most of the fierce demonic blood and aggression, where as the little ram horned, flightless creature was. Normal. Not good, not evil, just somewhere in the middle, balanced precariously between the two extremes... And wracked with guilt.

Even with the viciousness of her slightly elder sister, and the unknown depths of her slightly younger, the middle child knew that she, and not the others, was the one thing that would keep their family from ever returning to the herd in the skies.

And so, in the dead of the night, during a horrible summer storm, she fled, just north of the fork in the river and the floodplain forests to the south of the fork. If she followed the river, Kaliska figured, she should be able to find shelter, and stay well fed on both the greens and meats her mixed parentage made her crave.

It didn't take too long, however, her bandy legs and unusually tiny frame pushing herself under an upturned canoe to take shelter from the storm, and drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep....





Territory

Kaliska is a very young, small foal, and doesn't live with a herd of any sort, so she rarely leaves this area. However, she sometimes travels down the river with Acotas, my native, to the village. However, she does have the tendency to wander off to the outskirts of the territory and can be tricked into traveling further.

As Kaliska gets older, she is starting to wander further, going with Acotas or her adoptive family to other places, as well as wandering further on her own from these offskirts. She's a little harder to trick into going further off now, but she's more likely to at this point.




Other Statistics

-Kaliska means "Coyote chasing deer"

- Is rather small, even for a foal her age. However, she's not as small as a flutter foal normally is, either, somewhere halfway between the 3 week old kitten size and the standard regular foal's size. While still small, and growing up into a young teen, Kaliska is just starting to reach the size of a standard foal. As an adult, her head will just be about level to a standard stallions shoulder.

-despite being unable to fly and unusually small, Kaliska is able to jump high, her leg muscles similar to her winged ancestors for launching into the air, despite her lack of wings to complete the lift

-is a very fast sprinter for her age, but wears out quickly.

-Tends to leap like a deer or rabbit when in long grass and actually trying to get somewhere -- lets her see over the stalks.

- Because of her father's genetics, Kaliska's an omnivore. Her favorite foods are the roots of river reeds, fruits, fish, and small game animals such as mice, birds, and rabbits. She doesn't really hunt more then fish on her own.

Personality

Anjana's is a sweet, kind-hearted soquili that is something of a daydreamer, easily distracted, helpful and, unfortunately, easy to walk all over because of it. She's eager to please and highly empathetic, trying to find ways to "relate" to the situation rather then sympathize with it.

Good-willing and peaceful, she prefers quiet over the high life of adventure, however boisterous and loud people often will get their way as long as its not too extreme, since she does not wish to cause drama.




History:

Anjanas tends to avoid talking too much about her past, beyond lamenting about the Wind and falling into the lake repeatedly because of it. Where she comes from, why she's now here, is a mystery.


Territory

Anjanas Usually stays to the forests in the north, and will sometimes travel into the plains. However, she will often end up where ever the wind takes her when small and flying, so there is the possibility of finding her just about anywhere!
