It was another day, the sun not yet high in the bright sky. But for Kaiolohia however, it was just a new day of being lost and alone. The physical wounds she'd recieved from her lion attacker were just beginning to heal, though the claw marks on each of her shoulders was nothing compared to the mental wounds. The betrayal and assult of Mafahali had reduced the leopardness to a jumpy bag of nerves.
The slightest sound made her jump, always spinning around to make sure that it wasn't the giant brown lion returning. She regretted ever leaving the safety of her childhood den and wished that she could rewind time and just make everything the same as it had been before.

The leopardess' eyes traced the land slowly. Silence surrounded her on every side. There was no one here. She was alone. No mother to protect her and no father to save her if someone tried to attack. Throughout her life, she learned to only enjoy the company of leopards. Lions attacked her while cheetahs annoyed and made fun of her. Her siblings became her only friends.
In the distance, Kalama saw something familiar. Her ears perked up and her eyes squinted. Was it just a mirage? No, it couldn't be, it looked so real. She picked up the pace and drew closer to the blue and white female, noticing the scratches along her sister's coat. Anger grew in Kalama, but she tried not to show it. "What happened?" She asked as she approached her sister.

The sudden words behind her made Kaio jump, her fur standing on end. But a quick glance behind her made the leopardness relax. "Kalama!" She exclaimed softly, nuzzling close to the other female before she realized what her older sister had asked. The fear returned to her eyes and she glanced to the deep marks on her shoulders.
"It was a l-lion. He..." The blue female shuddered and looked back up to Kalama. "He pretended to be my friend then he..." She tried to say but instead, her words just grew softer until she couldn't force out the end of her sentence. The shame and pain of the assult just wouldn't let her.

Kalama watched as her sister jumped at the sound of her voice. When she noticed her sister relax then call out her name, Kalama smiled and returned the affection to her sister. She took note of the look in her sister's eyes at Kalama's question. Something bad obviously happened with her sister.
"How badly are you hurt?" She asked, concerned about her sister's mental and physical scars. Kalama could only guess what happened after the lion gained her sister's trust. "The world is cruel... especially with lions and cheetahs around." The leopardess said with a soft, comforting smile to her sister. "I'll protect you from now on... somehow."

"Just scratched up a little." Kaio muttered, glanced down to her shoulders again before she snuggled against Kalama's side, taking comfort in the other one. "What are we going to do Kalama? I don't want to run into another lion." She added timidly, fear in her eyes as she looked to the other. Still, the promise that her older sister would protect her calmed Kaio slightly and she nodded, sighing quietly.

"Scratched up a little, huh?" Kalama said, looking from her sister's scratches along her shoulders, before looking back at her sister's face. She made a thoughtful look. "Well... I was thinking about something, but I'm not sure if others would be interested. Maybe I could start a small pride for leopards. It could be a safe haven for leopards." The leopardess took note of every sigh and fearful look her sister had. It only motivated Kalama to do more to keep her sister safe.

The leopardness not and sat, her head still resting against her sister's shoulder. "No lions sounds good." Kaio whispered, looking up at the other with her silver eyes. She'd never personally had any trouble with cheetahs, in fact, the one she'd met had been rather nice, but if Kalama said that cheetahs were bad news then Kaio didn't care at this point. "Yes... Yes I like that idea."

Kalama enjoyed her sister's company. At least she wasn't alone any longer. Her orange and white ears flicked around as her light blue eyes darted to make sure they were safe. She sighed a little, realizing that they were alone and safe. "Of course, I will allow leopard hybrids into the pride." Kalama added with a nod. She was somewhat talking to herself and somewhat talking to her sister.

"Good, good." Kaio murmured. She didn't want a cub through means like what happened to her to be excluded from their haven. "Where will you make the pride? Here?" This was a rather nice spot after all.

Kalama looked around slowly. It was a nice lush spot, away from any harmful prides and didn't seem to have anyone but the two of them here. She smiled and nodded her head at her sister's question. "I think I will. There is plenty of water and food around it seems, so it is the perfect spot." Her light blue eyes slowly made their way from their surroundings towards her sister.

Kaiolohia smiled. "What'll you call it, sister?" She asked as she looked around. It was a nice spot and with her sister at her side, it'd be just about perfect. The idea of a safe haven from all the evil creatures of the world seemed like a good idea to the young leopardness.

Kalama gave her sister a thoughtful look. She hadn't ever thought about a name. After a moment of thinking, Kalama smiled and let her ears perk up as she spoke. "Leopard Family... Tier'Gestin." Her light blue eyes lit up at the thought. Soon, she would have a huge leopard family. Everyone looking after one another and treating each other with respect. Soon, Kalama's dream would become a reality.

"Leopard Family?" It reminded her of her own family and Kaio nodded. "That's a wonderful name." She agreed, not as timid as she had been before. "I think you will be a wonderful pridal leader, Kalama."

Kalama sighed and nodded her head. "One can only hope." Her head lifted and she smiled at her sister. "Hopefully I'll have someone wise by my side... maybe someone who knows their way around a pride or something." She shrugged her shoulders simply at the thought then looked around the land she hoped to one day claim as her own.

"I'll be at your side, sister." Kaio stated with a smile as she gave her sibling a friendly nuzzle. "Wouldn't it be wonderful if some of the others joined the pride? I miss them too." She trailed off quietly, sighing as she leaned again Kalama. "I hope they're safe."
