The Gardens

Here lies a graveyard
so sad and lonely
Full of bodies
and the absence of life.

The only soul
is the one who mourns
For those who were lost
and buried beneath the ground

This is the gateway to Hell: Serously now, these are the outside gardens. You enter through a silver gate, intricately carved, sparkling in the light. Through these large gates there are two paths. Which one shall you choose?

One leads to a complicated hedge maze, shrouded in almost complete darkness, full of lost souls and ghosts and a couple zombies. Step carefully now, you don't want to get lost like the moaning banshees!

The other leads to the beautiful gardens. Decorations and fog make it look suspiciously like a graveyard, but a beautiful one. Scents made by many flowers pefume the air. These gardens have a more beautiful light to go by, the moon in all its romantic splendor. Here there are paths lit by glowing white rocks so you dont trip, some places have dips and gazebos, places for you and your sweetie to go, or for you to hang out with your friends. It it hard not to fall in love here.

Kurai slowly made his way out of the dance hall's side doors. Quickly running away from his promblems inside and to vent some anger. "STUPID ISHOA!" Kurai yelled out angrily flipping his monk robe away from his feet and arms as he summoned a quick jolt of flame into his fist and then punched the side of the wall near the doors, creating a violent shake. Kurai stood there for a momment his fist stuck fast in the small dent he made in the wall.

"..."

"KUSOOOOOO!!!" Kurai yelled out as he removed his hand off the wall and shook it furiously. "FREAKIN.. HURTS!!" Kurai yelled out through clenched teeth. He then hoped around until he tripped over a strange rock. Kurai fell straight on his bum and in front of the strange rock. Kurai looked at it curiously. "... what the devil is this thing.>" Kurai blinked and knocked on the glowing white rock. "... a rock.. that glows?" Kurai groaned.

"Where the hell am i!?" Kurai just noticed he found himself in a dense fog with the door nowhere to be seen.

Seyla had seen the glimer of silver dash out of the dance hall and she raced after to follow. Hopefully she'd catch him in the gardens. When she arrived there she did find him. He kept hitting the wall and yelling about something. She almost questioned going back into the dance hall but it was too late now. So she nervously spoke up.

"Is everything alright Kurai?" hopefully he wouldn't be angered by her presence and hopefully not for the sudden questions she would ask either. But before she would ask anything she wanted to make sure that things were under control for him. If he needed to vent, she would listen, it was the least she could do to repay him for all he had done for her.

Kurai blinked as he heard the voice of Seyla suddenly chime in. Kurai turned upwards and saw Seyla there looking down at him. Kurai looked at himself and groaned. He must've looked pitiful doing such a thing in front of her.

"Yes! everything is ok!" Kurai growled at her a bit angrily. He felt embarresed after that. Kurai then brushed the grass off his hair and chest and then attempted to stand up, only resaulting in tripping over his long monk Robe falling straight to the ground near Seyla's feet.

"..." Kurai decided to stay there on the grass for a while seeing that fate didn't want him standing up for a while. Kurai growled at the grass.

"DANG IT!" Kurai leaped upwards by pushing against the ground and kicking himself up. Kurai then turned twoards Seyla. "If your looking for lessons, now is not the time... your Kurai is in a quite bad mood.." Kurai said biting his upper lip and then marching away from her. He didn't go far before he stopped and looked around him.

"Just... where the hell am i.." Kurai growled looking around him seeing only dense fog about.

Seyla jumped back at Kurai's reaction. He practically but her head off! She fought back laughter as his robe fell to the ground. She realized that she was being disrespectful and imediately shut up. His exclamations caught her off guard. He was scaring her but she wanted to comfort him.

"IM NOT LOOKING FOR LESSONS! MAYBE I WAS JUST CONCERNED FOR MY FRIEND!" she screamed back. And although that wasnt her original idea, it was her main reason now. She hated yelling at people but right now she wanted to slap Kurai if he only assumed that she only wanted lessons out of him. Didn't he know what friendship was?

He marched off though and she groaned. What the hell? Really did he have to be such a jerk to her! God she just. It was so aggrivating but then she realized that he was lost by his low growling. She smirked, of course he couldn't see that since her back was to him.
"The only way you're getting out is me Kurai" she announced.

Kurai just rolled his eyes with his back twoards her. ugg why do women always have to be so damn sensitive.. Kurai thought as he flashed back to his momments of being a high priest. Kurai had to deal with a lot of women whining as a high priest and is very tired of it. It diffently didn't help either that he had 2 sisters. Before he respected and was usually protected by Rene, but with her gone, Kurai had a change of viewpoints on women.

"... alright so i was wrong.." Kurai sighed and turned around twoards her with his robe flaping about behind him. he gave a small smirk at her. "Why are you here though? Don't you have a date?" Kurai gave an annoying smile at her, somewhat burning twoards him.

"But whatever, who needs you.. i can find my way out.." Kurai crossed his arms and looked about him.

heck i am.. so dang lost..

Men could be so damn stubborn. Those were the only thoughts running through her mind at the moment. She sighed. Maybe she shouldn't help anyone anymore. By now she had spun around so that she was facing him. Seyla's eyes seemed to be more golden in the moonlight right now.

"I wanted to talk to you, I'll admit that, but then I noticed that something was bothering you. So I thought I'd be polite and put you before me.." She replied to his question. Seyla was good at picking up cues emotionally that most others couldn't, thus it was hard to lie about ones feelings to her. As for his date question she laughed.

"Yes I have a date. But Zero can wait. Right now well, I think you're in the need of my company more than he is. And don't try to tell me that it isn't true. You want someone to vent to and you know it. Even if you don't, you need someone to get you out of here" Seyla commanded. She could be very overpowering when she wanted to be, almost like a mother in a way. But she only did this because she cared.

Shaiya walked through the silver gate, looking at it curiosly. Touching it gently, she felt her hand touch the silver, normally her hand would go through such a thing. Frowning she inspected the design, it was intricate and very lovely. It was never touched by her sister's hand but it did have part of her infused it it.

Closing her eyes she searched it, her mind weaving through the moonlight, silver and magic that had made it. Then she hit something. It was part of the goddess, a minor goddess from a different religion then her own, but she was the source of Celestial's healing magic.

Opening her eyes she inspected the gate once more, yes, the person who had forged the silver had once belonged to this goddess. Sighing she left the gate to face two paths. Carefully Shaiya walked further into the first passage until she saw a sign. The wooden sign had been buried in the hedges and mostly covered so that not many would be able to read it. On it was inscribed "Hedge maze." Not wanting to get lost in there, Shaiya turned and walked back until she arrived at the other passage.

Confidently she strided into the gardens, Pausing only to take a lit torch from it's bracket. Smiling Shaiya noticed that here too you could get lost easily, but it would be far more pleasent. The moonlight glinted off the silver flower buckets and was absorbed by the black metal of the benches.

Shaiya kept on moving, her barefeet not noticing the cold grass which bent beneath the soft pressure. Everything was silent, in a nice kind of way. Shaiya bent slightly so that she could replace the torch in another holder beside a bench. Gathering her robe around her, Shaiya sat down, folding her hands neatly between her legs. Shaiya bent her neck slightly to the sky, letting her eyes rest on the moon.

"Oh lord, what am I to do? You sent me down here to guide my sister, but I cannot find her. You sent me here to be holy, yet I am in the midst of a school full of evil. You sent me here in complete knowing, yet I remain ignorant. What am I to do?"

Celestial had been pacing around the gardens, looking at the flowers. Everything was going wrong. Joy was still suffering, and the cause was ignorant, and could never be enlightened. Tonight her soul was heavy. Worry for Joy and what was happening to her filled Celestial's brain, clouding her thoughts. Everything was going wrong.

Susie was off someplace, and little Joy was at her mothers. Everyone who could offer her solace was busy, and Celestial felt so alone. Singing softly to the flowers, holding their stems while her healing magic helped them grow. They would become so fruitful and leave the most beautiful scent. It felt as if this was all she could do.

"Oh lord, what am I to do? You sent me down here to guide my sister, but I cannot find her. You sent me here to be holy, yet I am in the midst of a school full of evil. You sent me here in complete knowing, yet I remain ignorant. What am I to do?"

Hearing these words, Celestial paused and let go of her flower. They were spoken by a mouth so familiar, yet so long gone. Frowning, Celestial turned around and walked around the flower bed. There sat a figure in long white robes, in possesion of the bluest eyes ever and blonde hair as long as Celestial's own. There, in her trademark barefeet, was Shaiya, her twin sister, gone at age 5.

Kurai turned his face into a very akward facial expression. "... what?" Kurai growled. "What the devil are you talking about!?" Kurai leaned twoards her face with an angry expressioin. "What are you to tell if im angry or not!? I am just fine you gurl..." Kurai whispered harshly in her face.

... stupid gurl.. She's just like Rene.. sensing my emotions and all.. geez. What is this gurl.... is she an Empath like Rene too? Kurai thought as he turned around and crossed his arms angrily. "...You better just go back to your date Zero neways.. Guys don't really like waiting, cause you gurls are slow enough neways.." Kurai rolled his eyes remembering how long it takes Rene and Mint takes in the bathroom.

Kurai then looked about the fog some more, a slight chill took place in the air now, Kurai hugged himself and tightened his robe closer together. "ugg.. Why is it so...!!!!" Kurai spotted something past the fog and nearly jumped. "... ITS A GHOST SEYLA!" Kurai yelled out pointing out twoards the deep end of the fog around the garden.

Seyla ignored his comments, and surprisingly it wasn't hard. All she had to do was stare at that wretched glove. The one that seemed to just. She didn't know. But somethime told her that it wouldn't be wise to use her powers without Kurai around. Well Kurai was around now wasn't he? Inwardly she smirked. It would be amusing to see his reaction, and she was confident there would be one. Would her flame be more powerful? Larger? Or last longer? She didn't know.

Shaking her head she released these thoughts and brought herself back to reality. Now Kurai was scolding her for leaving her date.
"Would you like me to burn you right now? Because I'm getting pretty close to wanting to! I told you alread my date understands!" she argued with a yell back at him. She wouldn't back down, he was being immature and he knew it!

"You know Kurai! I always thought you to be a good person. After all you tend to help so many others. But I never realized that your biggest flaw was being too stubborn and immature to let anyone help you!" She glared at him, a clear expression of anger written on her face.

"Maybe instead of screaming at me and whining and moaning about how nothing is wrong, when it's obvious that there is something wrong, you could actually accept my offer. And even if you didn't accept you could have at least been nice about it. You didn't have to scream in my face!" She continued to go on and on, there was no way she was letting him get away with this. No freaking way.

Seyla continued walking foward until she bumped into Kurai. He was shaking and pointing at something, like a frightened little child. Hearing him say "GHOST!" as he jumped caused Seyla to laugh. She couldn't help it as she clutched her sides and doubled over. He of all people should know its just an illusion. But once recovering from her laughter she spoke once more.

"Look" she proposed, and then continued walking foward, straight through the illusionary ghost. Seyla then stood there facing him, waiting for Kurai to follow her actions. Once he did that, then she would apologize for her behavior. After all guys were too macho to admit they were wrong about anything.

Kurai seeing that she wasn't afriad of the ghost he groaned and crossed his arm. damn it... Kurai spat twoards the ground away from both of them angrily seeing her not scared and that she saw him scared.

"You know Kurai! I always thought you to be a good person. After all you tend to help so many others. But I never realized that your biggest flaw was being too stubborn and immature to let anyone help you!"

Kurai froze up and stared straight at Seyla. "...." Kurai nearly exploded on her as she heard those words from her. Memories slowly came back twoards him as he thought about being helped all the time from his older sister Rene. So much he depended on his older sister to help him out in everything.

"cause if I always let people help me. I'll Just be the old Kurai!" Kurai shouted out twoards Seyla showing no stop of his anger. "... Weak.. Usless and always depending on others!"

"How can you ever be strong, if you are always take help from other people? " Kurai scolded Seyla. "tell me that Seyla.."

Seyla waited for Kurai to follow and he did but her words seemed to cause him to freeze in place. She smirked. This is exactly what she was looking for. Finally he'd see her way. FINALLY! But in actuality it backfired a bit. It wasn't anything that he couldn't handle.

"You can't erase your past Kurai! This old Kurai you speak of, he's still there and he always will be! You can't just say he never existed, you can't as if he's not a part of you because newsflash Kurai he is! You think you're the only one who's got problems! You should open your eyes, especially as a priest! I expected more of you!" she yelled back. She paused a moment though, she hated screaming at him like this, she hated fighting period but sometimes it was necessary. Kurai in this case, was making this necessary. She took a few deep breaths. Yelling wasn't going to get her anywhere with Kurai. She sighed and then put a hand on his shoulder.

"Kurai...no one can do anything on their own. All throughout history everyone had help. If it weren't for John Locke, the founding fathers couldn't have written the constitution, tiger woods didn't learn to golf by himself, and most certainly you didn't get to be where you are without guidance. It may be hard to accept but help is important. Everyone needs it." She paused once again to gather her thoughts, there had to be a better way to explain this to him.

"Help isn't a bad thing. Sure there are times when you should do things on your own, but the best way to release stress and anger is to vent and talk to someone. I'm offering that to you now. And what about me. If you weren't helping me then I wouldn't be getting any better at controlling my flames..." her words trailed off as she solemnly looked down at the glove that was permanently attached to her hand. That glove, it was another reminder of how the military had scarred her.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 30, 2005 9:14 pm

Kurai sighed and then rubbed his forehead, he knew she was right but he didn't want to admit it, especailly now. "... hmph.. " Kurai groaned and looked away from Seyla. "of course everyone needs help, and of course i know everyone has promblems." Kurai was well aware of it, and way too familiar with it being a Priest and all.

"...I can do things on my own though... " Kurai growled and then clenched his fist as he remembered Ishoa's words. He will take care of Joy huh? that Joy.. should be my responsibilty though.. damn Ishoa.. Kurai's eyes in a quick mommentary second turned into a narrow slit and flashed a soft red glow. Kurai then released his fist and turned twoards Seyla.

"thanks for the offer though Seyla.. I think i'm fine.." Kurai said in a serious tone. "I am perfectly fine, so don't worry about me.." Kurai then walked straight past her. But then froze for a quick second.

"what.. what is that on your hand?" Kurai said turning twoards the strange white glove on her hand. " Thats quite a strange fashion.."

Seyla listened. She didn't expect him to take her words to heart, or to admit that he was wrong. It just wasn't something that guys did. He seemed to be mad at first, and Seyla even saw a hint of red flash in his eyes for a moment. But then Kurai just...relaxed. It was odd, almost as if nothing had happened between them

She nodded, not wanted to press the matter further, she had caused the poor boy enough stress, let him move on with her words and be in peace. She was ready to do that until he inquired about the glove.

"You see, thats what I wanted to talk to you about..." She began softly. She wasn't sure if she should go on or not but she did so anyways.
"Zero was showing me some of his alchemy in the Asura labs a few days back, when one of his transmutations went out of control. Something happened to him, I still can't explain it. And I received a concussion. When I woke up from my unconscious state I just remember hearing voices. I think someone came and took be away, someone from the military came after me again. They told me they werent going to hurt me, but thats what they always said, and they still hurt me. And then there was this glove, I can't take it off. It scares me, I'm even afraid to use my flames now"
