Dhaval licked his paw, his silver eyes dull and listless. Would she ever just shut up? His daughter, the only girl in the totally unplanned litter he and Artemis had had together, was sitting in front of him, her ears pricked up high and her tail wagging uncontrollably as she jabbered on.
He had no idea what she was saying, but did it really matter? Was what she was saying important, did it pertain to any strife he had in his life at the moment? No. She was talking about a butterfly, he thought, until she started talking about its stingers. Oh well. Nice try.
"Lovely, dear," he said boredly when he heard a pause long enough to fit a response in there.

"I KNOW!" Jayashri squealed, her tail thwapping from side to side like crazy. She was a better actress than she thought she was, apparently; Dhaval, her father, was still here, at least listening to the pauses in her long-winded story, wasn't he? That had to prove something about how he actually cared about his only daughter, how he wouldn't survive without her.
Well, that's what she told herself, at least.
"Hungry?" she asked him after a moment, standing up and stretching her back legs. "I was about to head off and try my luck at getting that rabbit I've seen hopping about!"

The sandy pelted female walked through the brush, her only traveling companion, her own son. Her tail hung low, as she had not wagged it in quite a bit.
She had not planned on getting pregnant, but it had taken its toll on the beautiful female.
She had given birth to three pups, but she had so much trouble just keeping herself and Warrick alive.
Her pelt clung to her bones, and though she was nothing but bones, she still managed to carry a pretty appearance.

She had been traveling peacefully, having been looking for somewhere safe to raise her pups. But lately, she had been feeling tired.
Her blue gaze turned towards her son; who looked more like Dhaval then she had wished he would.
She had been tricked, seduced, but it had ended in pain and heartache.
Though, she was happy to have Warrick around.. she wasnt alone all the time anymore.
"Hurry up, Warrick."
She called to him, walking ahead a few paces, not stopping for him to catch up.

Warrick's own blue gaze glittered as he walked behind his mother. He was keeping his own pace, though he felt sure he was old enough to trail behind safely.
He sauntered, not really paying attention to where his mother was heading.
He loved his mother, though she was rather a boring figure to be around lately. He never had any fun with her.. She didnt seem to want fun.. But in her defense, he felt that she had alot more responsibility than she had anticipated with the meeting of Dhaval.

His father was a wanderer, never sticking to one place. In turn, it had seperated the little family, though the love that Artemis had felt for them had carried Warrick through it.

"Yeah Ma."
He called back, looking up from a rock he had kicked with a scowl.
He hated just walking.
How much more boring could this be?

Jayashri bounded through the thick weeds, dead from the winter frost but just now starting to thaw. She had never experienced a spring before, and the sights and smells were taking over her senses; the colors that were already visible underneath the leftover frost and browned grasses were hypnotizing.
She slunk low under a bush, hearing voices, one male and one female. One sounded older, sharp with age, wisdom, and pain, while the younger male sounded younger... like a son. Sensing no danger, oblivious to any signs, Jayashri slowly made her way out of the bushes.
"Hi!" she exlaimed suddenly, wagging her tail. "I didn't know anyone else was out here!" She turned her head to call back to her father. "Dad, come quick! There's someone here!"

Dhaval couldn't say he didn't care about his daughter, but there was something about her voice that made him scowl. Perhaps it was the fact that she was saying that someone else was in their area, or maybe it was just her overall tone. Either way, when he got up and stretched his legs, it was more grudging than he wanted to be.
He shook out his long, dark pelt; not all of his winter coat had been shed yet, and bits of twig and dried grasses clung to the heavy bits. Dhaval quickly shook them off, attempting to look his best. One never knows, there might be an attractive female just around the corner.
Dhaval slowly made his way over to where he could see his daughter, her tail wagging excitedly and her ears perked as high as they would go. And then he saw who was waiting for him.
"Hi, Artemis," he said awkwardly, hesitiating slightly.

The female stopped in her tracks, her eyes wide as she saw the female in front of her. Younger than most adults, but seeming to smell just like..

Oh God.

She smelled him before she saw him.. But when he came out of the bushes, her eyes widened a bit, and she was a bit overwhelmed for words.

It had been so long since she had seen Dhaval. She had been so..attracted to him. But she had felt so tossed aside when he had left her.
Though he had not missed the birth of his pups, he did not know his sons, and she did not know her daughter.

She smiled a little at the female, who she was assuming now, was Jayashri.

"Oh, Well Jaya you've grown to be gorgeous."
She said, not really thinking htat Jay had no know who she was..

But hten her sapphire gaze turned to Dhaval.

"'Lo Dhaval.. Long time no see.."
She said, her voice a bit shaky, but doing the best to keep from letting herself be drawn in once more.
That voice that could melt an Angels wings.

Warrick stood back, the fur on his back arched and he gave a bit of a growl.
He would not let anyone hurt his mother, though these two did not seem dangerous.
But when mother said the name Jaya, his growl instantly subsided, and he perked his head, as if he was a deer in headlights.
Cocking his head, he gazed at the father and daughter, then at Artemis, and down to himself.

There was no way..
He had never expected to meet his father. Though now that he knew he could.. He wanted to tell him everything. .Tell him of how brave and heroic he was.
But he wasnt sure Dhaval cared, after all..Didnt he leave them?
