Struggling against the elf who had an iron grip on her wrist, Kaimi snarled at him. At least, she tried to. Snarling and being mean and angry in general was not something she was particularly good at. Instead she came across as a rather ineffectual hamster. "Let go of me!" She shouted for what must have been the hundredth time. "I'm not going with you! You can't do this!" They both knew that her words were patently untrue, she clearly didn't have a choice about going with him and he obviously was doing this.

Jacen was both impressed and amused by Kaimi's attempts. "I am sure you won't mind coming when you know where we're going." He said mysteriously. He liked this teenager. She had spirit. Like Thali.
He loosened his grip on her hand, but not by much. "We want you to feel welcome. Don't be afraid. We won't hurt you." He told her as he led her on, he was obviously lost, though he wouldn't admit it.

"Where are you taking me?" Despite being angry and defiant, there was a touch of curiosity in the tone of her voice, loathe though she would be to admit it. Instead, she narrowed her eyes. "I bet Thali's called the cops by now. And when my mom finds out I'm missing she's gonna kill you." Kaimi added for good measure.

Jacen frowned slightly. "You know.. I was supposed to take you to Lynwood." He explained. "But.. I don't think you will like that much.." He figured that this was a good enough excuse to avoid going--not just because he was lost and didn't know his way back!
"Don't worry, the cops have never been able to catch me yet. Nor could an angry mother."

Her jaw dropped slightly as she stared agape at the elf. "Wait, what?" Shaking her head, hair rippling, she finally settled on a disbelieving frown. "You don't know where you're taking me!" She finally sputtered at him in outrage. "What kind of idiot kidnaps someone and doesn't have a place to stash them?" Oddly heartened, Kaimi continued her little tirade. "You're the worst kidnapper I've ever been kidnapped by! And the LAST guy locked me in a BOX!" Somehow, being able to explode at Jacen made her feel better about the whole thing.

"You want to be taken to Lynwood and forced to get married against your will and never see anyone you care about again?" Jacen asked in disbelief. "I was going to let you go, too." What was this? He was trying to be nice, and here she was complaining about it! Did she want to be kidnapped?
Honestly... He would never understand women.

"Of course I don't! I want you to let me go home. Anyways, I'm not an elf. It's not like your laws have any sway in my life or anything." She thought. She hoped. "But if you were planning on letting me go, why did you take me in the first place?" This genuinely confused the girl.

Jacen didn't know how to explain. Every way he could think of to say it, sounded stupid in his mind. After all, in elven terms, he was still a teenager. That wasn't saying much about his age; elves were considered teens until they were two hundred. "I er.. uh..." A violet blush showed up on his cheeks.
"Er.. I just thought.. uh.. Thali wouldn't let me talk to you if we stayed there."

"Wait... what?" Kaimi asked again, jaw dropping again as his color rose. "You dragged... you took... because you wanted to talk to me? Really?" This was completely foreign territory to her. She didn't even know what to say. Her own cheeks flushed and the bright, sweet scent of flowers suddenly filled the air.

"Y-yeah.. What did you think?" Jacen asked, trying to convince himself to stop blushing. This was all new to him. He suddenly knew why Thali and Vate hadn't come back to Lynwood.
He knew. It was the feeling that caused hearts to thump a thousand times a minute. It was the feeling that made you feel warm, even when it was freezing outside. The villian was now the victim of a wayward arrow shot by that mischeivious God, Cupid.
He had a crush. And he didn't know how to deal with it.

"What did you think I thought? I thought you were kidnapping me." Kaimi was flustered. Despite the vast differences in their ages, there was at least one thing they appeared to have in common. They were both standing around blushing like idiots, neither seeming to know what to say.

Jacen frowned slightly. "Vate's always the one that does the kidnapping.. and.. I don't think I could kidnap you, even if I wanted to." He said, blushing.
"Because--I..." He paused, he didn't know how to say it. "Well... I... I like you." He felt so stupid! He knew it should have sounded better than that. He was blushing furiously now, his face had gone from navy to purple.

"You don't even know me..." Kaimi murmurred, but she slipped her wrist out of his grasp and held his hand shyly instead. "How come you were spying on Thali? You wanted to kidnap her for real, didn't you?"

Jacen was so surprised by the hand holding that he nearly dropped Kaimi's. "Originally, I was told by her father to keep track of her. Make sure she was safe, and happy." He told Kaimi.
"But lately, she and that..." He couldn't even find words to describe how much he loathed Ben. "They've been fighting. Early this winter, he kicked her out of the house. During Christmas. I thought she would be happier in Lynwood."

Frowning, Kaimi mulled this over. "Well, if she'd be happier there wouldn't she go on her own?" Idly she wondered what sort of insult he'd been meaning to throw at Ben. "And every couple has problems." She thought. It was something Naomi said, but Kaimi had never known Naomi to be in a relationship. So maybe she wasn't an expert on the subject.
