~Appearance~
Karume
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 122 lbs
Hair: Her hair reaches her mid back. It’s often pulled back so that there are two layers to it, one made up of her top layer which is pulled into a hair ribbon atop the rest of hair. It’s color is a golden corn layered and mixed on a matted dirt brown.
Eyes: Her eyes are blue, deep and pure. They’re thin, not bubble shaped like many other females. Her eyebrows are like lines above her eyes.
Clothing: Her clothes are the typical clothes of the shinigami captains with the right sleeve cut off to show the purple ribbon wrapped around her arm. Near her shoulder, the ribbon stops, tied off with the strands hanging off of it, a black flower printed right at the edge of the ribbon. Her skirt is cut short but her white captains jacket flows all the way down to meet her matted shoes. Her high socks are a pure white, with the exception of the left sock where there is a flower, similar to the one on her arm, painted on the fabric. Though her black outfit does not cover quite as much as might be needed she wears her jacket so that it covers her shoulders properly.
Physical Appearance:
Karume is thin, probably thinner than would normally be considered healthy for many, but what she lacks around her stomach is equaled out with what she gains at her chest and hips. With the slight outline of a six pack for abdominals, she’s as fit as she is thin. Her muscles aren’t quite as apparent any where else on her body as there, but there is no doubt that she stays in shape.
~Background~
While alive, Karume was rather happy. She was born into a brothel, her mother a geisha who’d gotten herself into some problems with a boyfriend she wasn’t supposed to have. Karume grew up there, studying with the other young girls to one day become a geisha herself. In the end, her inability to sit still as a child ended her chances and she was kicked onto the street, simply being an extra mouth to feed that their owner couldn’t pay for if she was of no use, especially since she hadn’t even had to pay for Karume to begin with. At the age of twelve, she was still living it up. Even on the street, she’d found somewhere to stay and spent no more than three days without a shelter before a traveling theater group picked her up. True, she didn’t have much of an acting ability and being only twelve, she wasn’t really old enough either. Still, one of the costume artists had refused to leave her on the street and they’d picked her up.
It was this same person that taught her to paint. Between learning about art and helping with staging for the plays, she’d even managed to fall in love. It wasn’t much of a crush, he didn’t even look at her, but it still made her all the more convinced she loved him. She never got the chance to get to know him. By the time she was fourteen, he died, sick from something that she was never informed just what it was. That’s where the wondrous crimson color made its appearance in her life. At first, she hated the sight of blood but after staring at his for so long, she grew fond of the color and began her own quest to paint it just right. Until the day of her death, she always lusted for the color, always trying to make the perfect shade.
But of course, Death got in the way. Her's was slow and painful, brought on by the plaque like illness that was spreading through the theater group. With the premature medicine of the time, there was no stopping it after it was settled in and within a week of growing ill, she’d died. She entered the soul society after little roaming, pleased enough with the life she’d lived. She spent a number of years after her death scrounging around the slum like area of soul society to find food until a shinigami, one whose name she chooses to never remember, took her by the hand and lead her to the other side of the white wall to Seireitei. As soon as she’d started learning how to be a shinigami, she determined her own style, similar to the one she wears as a captain. It got her into a good bit of trouble as a student but the other students never bothered her and her smarts got her through all situations in the blink of an eye.
In a short period of time, she was transferred into the 9th squad, but it turned out to only be a temporary fix. Without a long wait, she was transferred once more into the 2nd squad. She worked her way up the ranks a good bit until; finally, she was at a good enough level to receive the open position as captain of the 2nd squad. She would have prefered a title as a captain of a bit more inteligent unit, like the 8th or 9th division, but that clearly wasn't an option for her and she delt with the 2nd division, growing into the position over time.
~Personality~
Karume has a tendency to just be a b***h. She always feels she needs to get what she wants and she has a tendency to get a little heated if things aren’t moving as smooth as she’d like. She is also a bit blood driven, constantly lusting to find the perfect crimson that is the color of human blood. As an aspiring artist, she always feels need to be as close to the truth as she wants to be.
Simply put, She looks at life as “Life sucks, get over it.”

Hadou #73 – Rank B – sōren sōkatsui ("Twin Lotus Blue Fire, Crash Down") Essentially a doubled version of #33, this spell fires two shots of blue fire with greater potency than the single-shot variety.
~Zanpakuto~
Name: Kotomaru
Shikai appearance: blade
Bankai appearance: Kotomaru
Zanpakuto ability: Kotomaru is a water based blade. In it’s shikai form, it has the ability to evaporate into drops of water, invisibly traveling to and inside of the opponent where it can drown the victim from the inside out. It is limited that it must all be close together so it is possible to evade, though it is an attack invisible to the eye. In Bankai, she has the ability to create acid water, so acidic it is like a poison that travels forward toward the opponent. Her special technique in this form is “kouryuu abunai” meaning “rain dragon grave.” Though the literal translation does not perfectly describe the technique, it provides the basic idea of its power. The attack itself is like a water fall that’s weight can easily crush a person or two, but it hits from all sides, like a decimating blast meant to mutilate the average so much that it kills them.

Clothing: Nani wears the full shinigami outfit with a rather large white belt around her mid section.
Physical Appearance:
All in all, Nani is tiny. She's not only short, but she's quite thin, even for her short height. She eats plenty and stays in shape, she's just relatively underweight.
~Background~
Nani doesn't remember much of her human life. It was only her father and herself all her life, and even then, it wasn't like that for very long. She's unsure of just what happened to her dad or anyone else before she died but she can remember her life ending on a rather sharp note and the next thing she knew, she was in Rukongai, searching out shelter and food. It wasn't until just a few years before that she'd made it into the school with the other shinigami to be. She'd exceled through things quickly and was immediately placed in the fourth squad due to her skillful hand at medicine. In very little time, she'd proven herself to her captain and silently creapt her way into the third seat position.
~Personality~
Nani is sweet and shy, she works hard to please her taicho and does her best to avoid interaction with the rowdier members of any squads. She's equally shy toward boys in general and there's no doubt she's a little afraid of them when it comes down to it. She has a tendency to run and cling to her taicho frequently, especially when there's a boy or someone on her scariest people list nearby.

~Zanpakuto~
Chiyuhime (healing princess)
Shikai call: Youjin (guarding) ranpu (light), Chiyuhime!
As apposed to what the name may suggest, Chiyuhime does not heal, at least not directly. Instead, when shikai is released, the blade eminates light. It responds to Nani's feelings when being used and using the light it reflects, it creates a shield around her. This is where it is capable of healing. Anything that comes into contact with the shield is healed, though they can not come through the shield. That can either prove problematic or highly helpful depending on how you look at the situation. Of course, the damages build in the beads at the hilt of the blade at once their full can release that damae into the shield, making it so that whomever touches the yellowish bubble around Nani would automatically be inflicted with these damages and can not have said damages removed by the blade a second time.
As an actual weapon, it's a bit more effective than one might think. Without use of the shield, the blade can actually cut people, the only issue is that the weilder might actually need some skills with a blade, something Nani really doesn't have.
Weapons:
Nani never puts Chiyuhime down unless she's sleeping. The question is whether or not she can use it as a weapon.
