Race: Ieldi, Flame Bowerbird
Class: Rogue (Thief)
Occupation: Wandering Artisan
Current Home: Wherever the road takes him, though he does own the top floor of the Inn in a pocket realm, accessible from the top of Durem Tower.

Eyes: Bright red, edged in black markings due to his Flame Bowerbird heritage as an Ieldi.
Hair: Bright red and casually messy. It is long in the front than it is at the back, though even then his bangs only reach around chin level.
Interesting Features: Zayn has golden skin, fading into black at his hands at feet. Two large wings rise from his back, mainly red, but tipped in gold and black. His bones are hollow, meaning he can easily glide with his wings, though not actually fly.
Clothing: Zayn wears sturdy clothing fit for travel and all manner of art. He prefers tunics or shirts, worn over long pants. He tends to favour drab colours such as brown when travelling - anything else stains too easily. Splotches of paint and art materials can often be found on his clothes. He always carries at least one bag and a pouch or two, which always include a sketchbook and some pencils.

Likes: Art, travelling, beautiful things.
Dislikes: Heights, cities, Deities of Chaos, certain rules of society (such as "thou shalt not steal")
General Persona: He is rather solitary if left to himself - a bit absentminded, able to get caught up in his work and forget he should be eating, cleaning, going outside and meeting others. He's not shy by nature but is a bit reticent until you get onto a subject he feels passionately about. If he decides he wants something, he'll do just about anything to get it. He'd be very demonstrative when courting, or trying to sway people to his point of view.

He can be very messy at times, leaving his art supplies lying around his house and forgetting to clean paint off his hands or face before it dries. He's the kind of person who makes you think someone really ought to be looking after him.


Strengths: Creative, caring, determined
Weaknesses: Absent-minded, prone to panicking/worrying, physically weak
Weaponry: Carries a dagger or two for protection when travelling, but isn't the warrior-sort, so he won't use anything larger than that.


History: This is Zayn's second lifetime. Originally the Ieldi lived with the Kyunru and Kun-Kun on another world, Sabilasi. That world was destroyed, the inhabitants slain. However a link was formed between the two worlds and with the help of the Pantheon of Sabilasi, the spirits of Ieldi were enticed over ot this world to undergo rebirth.

Attracted by a human artist, Zayn's spirit was eventually convinced to undergo rebirth by entering a special relic. However, around the time that he was due to emerge, a battle between two newly awaked Gods broke out. The god of Death destroyed the tree that the ground-fearing Ieldi were residing in.

A panicked Kali assisted Zayn's rebirth and then managed to convince the child that the ground was safe, with the help of Chronos, the God of Time. However, this abrupt change of perception for the Ieldi also had a side-effect. Zayn now had a fear of trees and heights instead, prompted by the frantic events of the night of his birth.

Despite a new tree being found, in a pocket dimension from Durem to Sabilasi, Zayn could not be convinced to climb the tree. Instead, he and his guardian lived on the ground, taking up residence in the Phoenix Rest inn.

Time passed and an older Zayn chose the same career that he'd lived his previous lifetime - a wandering artisan, travelling from village to village in search of new scenes to capture in his art. He still lives on the top floor of Phoenix Rest, though his guardian sadly passed away some time ago.

Familiars

Stiltzkin appeared during the Winter Festival, after Zayn and the others sat through a story told by Waltz. Stiltzkin attached himself to Zayn after learning that the Ieldi travelled a lot due to his art. The adventuring moogle invited himself along with Zayn, in order to get a free ride.

Stiltz loves travelling and having adventures. His love for trouble and danger will put him at odds with Zayn, who'd rather not risk his life if he doesn't have to, thank you very much. Stiltz seems to be bad with money, often ending up broke mid-travels. He is pushy and used to getting his way. Appears to be good friends with Artemecion (bonded to Odilen).





Despite this rare photo shot, Albel is not a happy flan - unless he's getting his way. He doesn't seem to do much that Zayn can see, just laze about and spy on others. The Ieldi has noticed that the flan seems to have a temper, and isn't above trying to attack others... even though his only 'attack' is a bodyslam, hardly what most would consider intimidating, especially for a dessert.

Albel seems to have bonded with Xanatos, both of them being rather violent beings ^^;;;





Kyuu was found by Zayn during his quest to retrieve the Crystal shard stolen during the ball. Soft-hearted Zayn fed the 'wild animal'... which of course then decided to follow him home. Kyuu is playful and energetic, but has a bad habit of setting the floors on fire when overly excited.

Currently, Kyuu is being 'trained' on acceptible behaviour inside the inn. This seems to involve cold water being dumped on the moomba if he starts to cause sparks.

[Fire] Zayn's partner in the quest to retrieve the stolen Phoenix Crystal. Their shared experiences have made them good friends.


[Odilen] Another one of the few Ieldi to be reborn. (Image is of Odilen as a kid.)

[Gabriel] The first Kyunru Zayn ever met as a reborn Ieldi. Gabe is cool and sometimes standoffish, but Zayn has known him his entire life. This friendship is doubled by the fact that Kyunru and Ieldi came from the same world.

[Fafnir] A legendary Dragon Kyunru. Fafnir and Gabe are friends (or perhaps acquaintances who have yet to part ways is a better term). Faf was the second Kyunru Zayn ever met, also as a child. Despite his travels, Zayn does his best to keep in touch with the Kyunru.

Sadly, Zayn only has a lamp at the moment, so Xanatos has yet to appear or meet any other Elysians.

// Special Possessions //

A highly prized lamp from the Mages Conclave & the Highlord herself, apparently instrumental in summoning a "beast" Elysian. And the Dark Crystal linked in a mysterious way to the lamp.

Despite his love of wandering, Zayn does actually have a house! Not in a city, of course, he prefers living closer to nature... And closer to his homeworld. This portion of Sabilasi exists as a pocket dimension, reachable from a special portal on top of Durem's clock tower.

Although Zayn was given a house up in the Great Tree, the events of his rebirth left him with a fear of trees that most Ieldi reserve for a fear of the ground. Many years ago, Zayn's guardian traded the house with Quinny to instead live in the inn, Phoenix Rest.

The third floor has been transformed into Zayn's private rooms and art studio. There are spare rooms left on the second floor, potentially for visitors, although Zayn prefers his solitude most of the time.
