Life was starting to once again look up but still in a way she could see the circle coming around again. It was as if the sun had risen again when she had been reunited with her mate but it seemed they had not found what they sought yet. She knew something was bothering her mate and wanted to do what she could to ease his fears.
They had paused out in the savanna and found shelter under a large tree for the moment. There was plenty of space to tuck themselves in so that Roshan could stay between her and whatever may be out there in the night.

Roshan lay curled up comfortably around her, so that she was between himself and three, his eyes half on her and half on the savanna as it stretched out beyond them. He had a habit of sheltering her, perhaps more than she really needed it, but he was over protective by nature and if there was anyone he regretted not being able to protect, it was her.
That was where the issues with this land concerned him, this makeshift pride that wasn't really a pride at all. At first it had seemed that it would suit their interests, from what they had heard, but now that they were here, he found himself growing hesitant. There was no way they could stay here, no way they could have a family here. He knew the dangers of that were out there in the world - his own brother was one of the worst.
"We can't stay here," he said finally, turning to look at her with an apologetic smile, his bright eyes dancing as they watched her. He didn't want to upset her, but there was no reason to beat around the bush either.

She laughed softly as she nudged her head under his chin. "I had a feeling you were going to say something like that. I could feel it in you." He had been more protective of her than usual as they'd traveled and she knew it was because of what had happened to them before. Roshan had always been caring and that's one of the things that drew her to him. She knew no matter what so long as she was with him nothing would happen.
But she also knew that he would probably feel safer elsewhere, somewhere bigger.

He couldn't help but smile at the way she nudged her head beneath his chin, making him lift it and shift it slightly to the side to nuzzle it down against the back of her neck. At least it hadn't upset her, although it surprised him how he continued to be so blatantly obvious to her - she read his emotions so easily.
"It's just too open, not enough lions, we'd be so vulnerable here," he glanced out at the horizon again, though her simple affections had lightened his mood considerably. "Plus I'd like to maybe be somewhere off the beaten path," he muttered, narrowing his eyes. If they could find somewhere just a little more remote, a little less out in the open like this, well, he wouldn't have to worry about Do'al finding him anytime soon.

She smiled softly as he nuzzled her and snuggled closer to his warmth. She did understand his fear of the open spaces around here and shared it to an extent. It did seem so easy to be snuck up on when in a place like this. It seemed more a haven for those grown and not for families to be raised.
"We could continue our search elsewhere ... perhaps find a pride that is known for keeping themselves secreted away?" There had to be some out there somewhere that would welcome them. "You need not worry so much Roshan, so long as i am with you i know nothing can harm me."

He nuzzled his face closer to her as she snuggled into him, finally letting his head rest against her for a moment, choosing to simply listen to the savanna around them instead of forcing himself to watch it constantly. He wasn't sure she could understand his fear entirely, as she had never met his brother. He didn't know if Do'al's loyalty to him was wearing thinner, if their cubhood would mean anything much longer. He wanted to get away from him as well as the memories of what had happened to her, to them, and all the lions that might could cause it for them.
"A pride that secrets themselves away," he repeated after her, furrowing his brow in thought. He had to admit that sounded appealing. Perhaps one that had set itself up behind some kind of natural defense. A forest, or a lake perhaps? The possibilities were endless, and as long as they kept moving and searching, that meant less chance for his damnable brother to find them. "I know, I know, but after everything, can you blame me for thinking the world isn't a safe place? I'd rather not take the chance." He smiled and leaned down to lick her cheek, though he knew that he was terribly paranoid. "I would never let anything harm you though, over that you can rest assured my love."

"I can not blame you at all, but i do know that i have never felt safer anywhere other than your side" His paranoia probably fueled her trust in him in a way. She knew how much he watched where they were going and that meant that it was unlikely that something would sneak up on them.
"You are frightened of the brother you spoke of? That he will find us?" She had only heard him mention a brother and a dislike of him. She had never wanted to pry into that since it seemed to cause him so much pain. "Further into the savanna we may find word of a pride that is well sheltered. I'm sure someone out there can help us on our way"

He had to smile at her when she said that, looking down at her with his bright eyes. "I'm glad that I'm doing what I can to protect you then," he murmured. He was only regretful that he had taken too long to do it, though he supposed there wasn't exactly any way for him to do that before - not against an entire, enraged pride.
"Not frightened, exactly," he murmured, shutting his eyes, as if that might block the memory of the bright red lion from his thoughts. "Do'al isn't all together in his head, in my opinion. He's brilliant, but dangerous," he opened his eyes and gazed down at her again, "very, very dangerous."
He shifted his weight a bit as she talked, nodding at her words. He supposed someone had to know of a pride like that, that was true. Even if they were well sheltered and kept away from the world, someone had to at least know of their existence.

"Hopefully then he is far away from us and you wont ever have to fear what danger he might bring." She tilted her head up and tugged at one of his ears lightly. "He may be dangerous but you are strong and determined and he could not be a match for you." She knew that Roshan was strong and that if he needed to he could stand up to anything so long as he had something to protect.
"Birds often know of things like that. No one suspects them and few bother to ask their opinions on the world. If we see any we should ask advice, they have a perspective we could never achieve"

His smile turned into a sad one as she spoke about his brother, nodding his head, but slowly, as if he were reluctant to agree. "That's just the thing," he murmured, "Do'al would never harm me, I'm pretty sure of it, just like it would break my heart to have to hurt him, as much as I detest who he's become." He looked down at her sadly, even as she tugged at one of his ears. He didn't think Do'al would hurt him directly, their bond was something strange. That didn't mean he wouldn't harm those close to him just for fun, though. He leaned down and nudged his forehead against hers lightly, sighing softly as he let the thoughts slip away. He'd get her away, somewhere safe.
"Birds?" the thought put the smile back on his face somewhat, his eyes opening a bit as he leaned back away a fraction. "You're right, I hadn't even thought to ask a bird for any sort of advice. I bet they see all sorts of things we'd never even imagine." She was just full of surprises.

She knew at least to an extent where his mind was wandering and she knew that he'd never let that happen. She trusted that Roshan would take care of her for the rest of their lives and that no matter what he would protect her. Though she was curious about this brother she inwardly hoped that she never met him if he was truly as her mate feared. She had enough of males that played with others lives.
She nodded slightly and smiled. "They have a view none other can get. They could tell us if they have seen something tucked away.

"Then I suppose the hunt is on for birds," he said with a smile, inwardly thankful that the subject had taken a change to something lighter. He had enough worries over his brother, he certainly didn't need to voice them out loud and have her worry too. Though if he knew her at all, she probably wouldn't, she'd simply put her faith in him to protect her, and he would try his hardest.
"I do hope we can get close enough to one to ask, I don't think they're probably use to being hunted down for anything but a quick meal," he said with a weak smile, shaking his head before leaning it against hers. He'd never even spoken to a bird that he could recall, just passed them by without a second thought. He supposed he would have a lot more information by now, though, if he'd actually attempted to befriend one before now.

"I have spoken to one before, though he was a bit testy and not forthcoming with any information. I would think those birds that hunt themselves would be less frightened of us so long as we were not stalking them." She rested her head against his with a soft smile. "Or we could try calling out to any flying low enough they could hear us and perhaps they'd stop"
She had faith that something would give them the sign they were looking for. There was a path for them to follow out there and all they needed to do was find it. The spirits would provide a guide somehow.

"I suppose you're right," he said with a nod, letting out a deep sigh of contentment as he snuggled his body closer to her warmth. "That sounds like it might work. We'll just have to hope there are some birds out there that aren't easily frightened, hm?" He smiled and leaned to lick her cheek affectionately once more before pulling away.
"We should rest, we've got to start our long journey all over again," though it was likely he would be doing less resting and more looking. He always did though, and it wouldn't likely change until he felt they were safe. He did hope that was soon.
