Can I Help You...?--- private role-play

Players
: Mandy and Seere
Setting: Bank of Gambino; A cool bright spring morning

---

God, her feet were already killing her. It had only been two hours since opening and she wanted to put a bullet in her head, which didn't bode well for the rest of her nine hour shift. Mandy shifted back and forth on her black wedges, trying soooo hard not to pull out a wedgie from under her straight black skirt. Her painted face turned into a perfect smile as a customer came to her window.

"Hi, welcome to the Bank of Gambino, if you open up an account today you get to choose from three free items. How may I help you today...?"

"Just need to make a deposit..." The older man slid a check across the lacquered counter, and Mandy's perfect manicured nails picked it up gently and took it behind the golden rail between them that protected the clerks from any potential danger. Riiight, as if a gun would be stopped by a few metal bars. She would prefer a little showdown than this boring crap day after day after ******** day.

"Alright, Mr. Ransom, this will be deposited into your account for you!" The brunette's sweet smile broadened and she gave him a nod. "Thank you, and have a nice day!" Once his back was turned, Miss Young's bright face fell into a usual scowl and began to deposit the man's money into his account from her computer. Her lime green nails tapped melodiously on the counter as she watched the clock count down the infinite seconds she had left here.

Why was it so slow today?

Sam frowned as she stood outside eying the bank. For someone with as much money as she had she wasn't very familiar with the institutions that cared for her family fortune; then again Sam didn't want to.

She didn't like banks, they seemed artificially polite. It was more then a bit annoying to say the least and it didn't give her any peace of mind to know the people watching after her money were likely lying. Lying about nothing overly important...but lying nonetheless. Lying about being happy and caring about their jobs.

Seere had pointed her to the place, letting out an uneasy breath she pushed the door open and stepped inside. The girl she needed to talk to was here, Seere had noted it. Frowning Sam looked along the counter before spotting the name tag moving up Sam bypassed an elderly woman that wasn't paying attention to take the next spot in line.

Sliding a deposit slip over to the girl she took a moment to gauge her, "I'd like to make a deposit." The sum she was depositing was impressive...very impressive the pay from her last job. Resting under the slip was a note, one the girl couldn't miss.

I have business to discuss. Was all the note said, under it was an address to a nearby cafe.

With another person approaching, Mandy's bored sneer brightened reflexively into a perfect vision of happiness. "Hello, welcome to the Bank of Gambino. Would you like to open a new account today or--"

Oh, sweet. Deposit. Those ******** were easy. She waited for the woman to slip the form through the opening between the bars. Miss Young did her best keeping his eyebrow from rising. Apparently it was rude to gawk at a customer's check. She wondered if this was even real. But leafing through the rest of the slips and counting the checks, it seemed reasonable. Except for--

I have business to discuss... What the balls was this?

Mandy's smiling face turned to her usual bored scowl. "Listen, Ms. Marlin, we don't negotiate with terrorists or thieves... no matter how subtle the request..." She lifted up the note in emphasis. Usually people just told her to put 'all the money' in the bag. This girl was being a downright gentlemen about it. At least it was refreshing.

Sam just stared at the woman a moment at the outburst, hells this is why she had someone else handle such things. Apparently she wasn't very good at it, "Oi, hells woman. Look at my account," she gestures to the screen, "think I'm worried about money?"

Lowering her voice she looks at the woman directly, part of her wishes she'd just gotten her on her way out of work but too far along to just back off now. "Job proposition for ya, nothin' to do with your banking, cafe address at the bottom of the paper." She then pushed herself back to standing upright, "I'll just finish up my transaction an' be on my way."

Mandy blinked. Huh, that was true. She leafed through the checks one more time just to make sure they were valid. Huh. Well! Even still. The brunette was rich as ******** and she was always looking for more.

A job proposition. That was a new one. But didn't that seem too good to be true? Maybe she was an undercover agent trying to pull her into a police sting. And maybe she was being very paranoid. She may not have her powers back yet, but she was a Sin and had a ghost dog that could tear out piggy throat easily enough. Decisions, decisions.

Tapping the checks into order, she took them under the table and smiled shallowly as per usual. "Yes, ma'am. I'll take care of this for you. See you again, Miss Marlin...." Mandy wasn't sure if she would take her up on her offer just yet, but she had quite a few hours to think about it.

---

Wrapping up her blazer and badge in her arms, she strode out of the bank entrance with highly disgruntled face. Nothing personal really, she just could not smile another minute longer. And she still hadn't decided if she wanted to go to the cafe. Ugh. Looking to her side, she summoned Grigsby, patting his large back gently. "We're gonna go on a lil stroll..." The cafe wasn't far away and she could use some exercise.

It wasn't hard to find but her feet were already killing her. She hobbled in as gracefully as she could and looked for the sassy woman.
