The BBC should start showing classic Doctor Who episodes! sad I'd love to turn on the TV and watch UNIT shooting up some shop window dummies or whatever, instead of showing Doomsday a thousand times over. Agreed?

You live in Britain, yes? I'd like any DW being shown anywhere, any time, here--well, and time before the middle of the night (which is when they do show classic eps where I live--while i'm sleeping!)

It would certainly help younger and older/new and classic Doctor Who fans gel better if they'd combine them more, perhaps showing the episodes that have had most influence on the new series and key moments in the Doctor's life.
Putting them side by side would hopefully bridge the gap between those who know far too much about the classic series and those who've never seen an episode in their life because I know sometimes the feeling that people forget the older episodes can cause friction.

They show them in ThPriestess' and my area, but like she said, they show them way late at night AND only one 30-minute part of an episode per week. sad

Would be nice to be able to watch them on TV indeed of searching for them online. I'm not even sure which episodes to search for online. D:

There are DVDs now, although they're being released in a rather sporadic fashion. But, if all else fails, find a rabid fan who stayed up all night recording them all on VHS XD (they're down in my basement right now).

They have not shown an episode of doctor who on my local PBS stations in ten years or so. They even cut down the number of britcoms shown. It's down to four hours a week now. So I doubt that doctor who will ever be put back on in my area.

On-topic: I wish our PBS station (from Reno, NV) showed any DW, but especially classic DW (our family now gets BBCA and I really don't see our PBS station having new DW anyway - they tend to go for older things than that). Ceribri, Gallo, and ThPriestess - you guys are so lucky! gonk
Off-topic: I love Roobarb's signature. mrgreen

They showed the 1st and second new series and that's it. Now no Who anymore. stare Our English teacher showed us "Rose", that is what made me love Doctor Who (even if it is not the best episode imo) In Germany they just show those horrible soaps all noon.

The closest to Doctor Who my area's PBS station shows is the Sally Lockhart (sp?) Mysteries. crying I have to watch BBC America and Sci-Fi Channel, and they stick to the new series. crying crying (Not that it isn't brilliant. I'm a New Who baby, after all, carefully balancing myself out with whatever Classic Who I can buy.)

Currently, only two PBS stations still show the classic series: KBTC 28 in Tacoma, WA and WHRO 15 in Norfolk, VA...unless I'm mistaken and there are more. Anyone know if there are?
