Thera ran into the hangar and paused before a blue shield liger. 'Wait this isn't the right one,' she thought and raced across the hangar to her blue shield liger.
"hey girl," she said blinking her icy blue eyes. She looked around as if checking that no one was there to notice what she was doing. The coast looked clear so Thera climbed into her zoid's cockpit
"come on spirit," she whispered to the zoid. With a mighty roar the zoid started to move. The cockpit closed and it took a few steps forward.
"There we go," Thera said from inside the cockpit. She smiled as she piloted her zoid out the door at a run. She took every care to not squish the people as she ran towards the exit.

There was never anything quite like downtime in the military. Tsuzume could have been found down the hall at a lounge, nearly asleep on a couch... That was, until she heard a distant roar in the hangar. It's nothing, just... ignore... it... she tried to tell herself in a sleepy haze. Ignore, though, she couldn't. Her curiousity, even if it was half asleep, was piqued, and she headed out towards the hangar as quickly as she could make herself move. The sight she was greeted with upon entering, though, was not what she had expected. A... A blue shield liger! And Raya wasn't in her normal spot either! She stood frozen for a moment, and after a few eyetwitches, bolted towards the nearest shield liger available to give chase, or at least open a communication link.

And no, she hadn't at all noticed that the zoid running off had some pretty cool custom decals on it. Of course, she wouldn't notice that the machine she hopped into was her own, either. From half asleep to mildly panicked, many little details could slip by her. She shoved the sticks full forward as soon as the machine was good to go and gave chase out the door, quickly fiddling with the communication channel. With the aid of radar, she managed to get one up, or so she predicted. A girl's face popped up in the window.

"Uh hey, 'scuse me!" She reported over, in hopes that that'd be enough to slow the girl down. Poor Raya, that's probably why she'd roared so loud! Tsuzume thought to herself.

Thera glanced back noticing another shield liger was coming out of the hangar behind her. She sped up her Zoids pace wondering why the other liger was coming after her. it's not like she did anything wrong.... Well she may have looked a little suspicious the way she entered the hangar, got in her Zoid, and left the hangar. "come on spirit we can outrun them," Thera said, the 'outrun them' part coming out right as the communication link opened.

"yeah," the female replied her eye's flashing and not realizing that the other pilot had heard what she said last. Thera studied the other zoid. It appeared to have a stronger shield than a normal liger.... Maybe she should have taken that one for a joy ride.

She was going to try to handle this peacefully until... Outrun them? OUT.RUN.THEM? Tsuzu thought vividly to herself, face not even attempting to hold back that emotion. When her temper flared... it erupted. Alright, that was it, down to business! She kept her machine going but deployed the missile pods, both fingers ready on the triggers if the other party didn't comply. She'd repay "whoever's" liger she was in right now later, but luckily, the pods were full.

"Aaaaalright! You'd better stop that machine you're in, that one's my shield liger! I saw it- it was missing out of my spot in the hangar, that's proof enough!" She said before giving the girl on the other end a chance to retaliate.

Probably some rogue, pretending to be a soldier just to sneak off with my zoid! she thought angrily to herself, adding fuel to the fire. Nothing like the imagination.

And of course she didn't remember one of the higher-ups stopping in this morning, just as she was getting up, that they'd needed to move her liger out of its usual spot... She would be reminded soon enough, but for now, the girl remained not-so-blissfully ignorant.

'Who does this woman think she is?' Thera thought as she saw the missile pods deploy. Thera prepared herself for them to fire her finger hovering over the shield button, but was surprised when they didn't launch.

"What are you talking about it's mine now," Thera said digging herself a deeper hole than the one she was already in. Thera Sped her zoid up to it's max speed and veered off course behind some rocks. this should stop her missiles from coming. and if they do i've always got my shield,' Thera thought.

Tsuzume growled audibly out of frustration before continuing. "Look, I really don't want to fight you, but if you don't give me back my zoid, I swear I will! It's really important, plus it's got an upgraded shield, so you'd better give it back nice and peaceful!" She said quite forcefully to the comm link. Great idea Tsuzume, give the stranger all the more reason to want to keep your zoid, just great... she scolded herself. That's what I get for opening my big mouth.

Tsuzume continued to give chase, making a wider turn around the rocks and skidding to a stop when she got there, facing the rocks. Where she had seen her Raya go. The AI system in her own shield liger gave a low rumble, but she ignored it.

"Now are ya gonna--" She started angrily, but at this more still position, she could see details she couldn't before, when they were both on the move. This one had... some decals on it. "... Uh..." she said suddenly, feeling somewhat foolish. That, or more mad, she couldn't tell which to be. Either this girl had applied decals then run off with her zoid, or...

"Hey, hold on a sec," she said to her com link as she quickly put up this zoid's shield. It was the quickest way she knew to check the strength of one, the other method would leave you open to attack, which she didn't want if this turned out not to be her zoid. The readings, sure enough, were indicative of her Raya. She took a little while to double check a few other things to make sure it was hers before she let out an audibly relieved sigh.

"If i really had your zoid it would be a good test of my skills," Thera said slightly amused. 'I knew that zoid had an enhanced shield. Dang wish I had one of those,' Thera thought.
Thera smiled as the Zoid rounded the rocks. instead of pushing her shield button she got the missiles ready to fire just in case.
"Now I'm gonna what?" Thera asked curiously. Thera saw the woman was looking a little confused. "oh so you thought i stole your zoid," Thera said and started laughing. She accidentally hit the deploy button for the missiles.
The missiles collided with the shield of the other liger. "uh, whoops sorry," Thera said with a serious look on her face. "Good thing you had your shield up eh," Thera said smiling.

"Ha!" Tsuzume said to the girl at the other end. She retracted the missile pods before she accidentally did something with hers, but didn't do anything to her shield just yet. "Yeah, I was sure you'd taken my liger, they're both blue. We'll have to watch out for that in the future..." she said as the pods popped back into place. The zoid always gave a little movement when they moved, she could always tell whether the missile pods were deployed that way.

A single beep passed through the cockpit before she saw the explosion right in front of her face- a missile or two exploded on her shield, which dipped in power in response. There still was a shield, but it was weakened now. "Gah! I'm sorry I chased you down!" She said jokingly in response to the missiles. She chuckled a bit at the predicament she'd just gotten over before continuing. "Well, yeah, good thing we've got that shield!" She deactivated it to save power. "My name's Tsuzume, Tsuzume Matsuki! Sorry again for the mix up." She said with a much warmer smile. Raya growled lowly again, a little "I told you so," no doubt. "Whatcha out here for, if you don't mind my asking?" She said out of genuine curiousity.

"Yeah but i'm sure we'll get them mixed up at least once," Thera said.

"I seriously didn't mean to do that," Thera said smiling "That's one good shield though." Thera replaced the missile pods before she did that again. she had accidentally blown up a wall back at base once like that. "You can call me Thera. I have a last name but it's not that important. Sorry for not clearing the mix-up up, I probably only made myself more incriminated as usual," Thera said. "I love going for runs with my Zoid at night. If that's what you mean," she said her cockpit opening and she jumped out onto the rocks next to Spirit.

Tsuzume followed the other pilot's lead and popped the canopy to the cockpit. It always took her a moment before she leapt down, but she'd always managed to make it just fine. Once on solid ground, she started towards the other girl. "Nice to meet you Thera," she said, the breeze tussling her hair as much as it could in spite of her black headband. "Pity we couldn't meet under better circumstances. I know exactly what you mean though, I like taking my liger out for a run, too." Which is probably why she was talking about outrunning us earlier... she thought to herself with a quick glance back at her zoid.

"How're you liking the military?" She asked. "Those beds are something else, huh?" She said as she cracked her neck just by turning it. My spine certainly doesn't appreciate them, it's like sleeping on steel!" She said with a chuckle.

"Nice to meet you too Tsuzume," Thera said her bangs getting swept around a little. "It truly is. I like taking my Spirit out at night to help train my night vision and to stir up as little attention as possible," Thera said though it was a miracle she had any sort of vision at all. Thera lifted her hand she touched the left side of her face briefly before returning her hand to her side. "The ligers seem to like it as much as we like piloting them. So it makes sense. A good pilot always wants to treat her Zoid good so it will respond to you better," She said thoughtfully.

"The military is ok. The beds could be better but you should try sleeping in a gunsniper sometime," Thera said to Tsuzume with a smile. Thera had done that on many occasions before hers got destroyed.

"Zoids always need a good run, in my opinion," Tsuzume said with a nod. "And I've never slept in a Gun Sniper," she said, giving the idea some thought. Come to think of it, she'd never even been in a Gun Sniper. She'd seen a few, though. Albeit, only since she'd joined the military. At least she knew what they were. She was grateful to have joined, she'd learned so much and gotten a chance at her own zoid. A Shield liger, no less! One of her favorites.

The girl pulled herself from her thoughts and sat on a nearby rock, leaned back so she was supporting her wait on her hands, and gave a contented sigh. Her eyes focused on the two zoids for a moment. "I'm still surprised I mistook my liger for yours!" she said with a chuckle, returning her gaze to Thera. "I dunno how I missed my stuff in the cockpit. Pretty Crazy." She said with a smirk.

"Most Definitely, but there are some that don't like to run. My family had a few when I was growing up so I'm used to being around many types," Thera said smiling. "I'd invite you to try but my families got destroyed right before I joined the military," She sighed. It had been her favorite one before she met Spirit. She looked up towards the moon with a smile. "Always," she whispered.

"It happens. I've almost done that before. Spirit got angry at me," She said looking at Tsuzume with a grin. "Is your cockpit customized? I noticed the shield was upgraded before you mentioned it," Thera said.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 7:20 pm

"Oh, so you've been around zoids for a long time, huh? I never got to pilot one until I got into the military, but I'd always wanted to," she said with a smile. "There weren't many zoids around my village, but every now and then someone would pass through with one, so I know most of the types.

"And yeah, seems like Raya's not too happy with me either," she said, returning her eyes momentarily to her shield liger. She was certainly glad it wasn't trying to kill her or anything crazy like that. Human vs Liger would be a pretty uneven fight. She almost shuddered at the thought of that, and was glad she'd never had to combat a zoid fist-to-metal.

"Nah, my cockpit isn't really customized. I've just got some stuff in there that's mine. You know, pictures, music, supplies, so on. You must've had a skilled eye, though, to see that my shield was upgraded. I have a hard time spotting things like that on other zoids without getting a look at the readings. I'm getting better at it, though." Her thoughts turned back to that fight, her first mission. She'd never forget it.

"Yeah. My family had 7 seperate zoids. Before my dad left to join the military he would go find destroyed zoids and fix them up as long as their zoid core was intact. If it wasn't he would use it for parts," Thera replied. She left out the part about what her father did with the fixed up zoids and that the ones they owned were new. Her mother hadn't told her what he would do with them until she was old enough to join the military on her own.

Thera looked at Raya "Well hopefully she won't be mad at you for long. Last time spirit got mad at me I couldn't even get into the cockpit for a month. I had to borrow some old Molga," She said laughing, then adding "It didn't last two days before I broke it. I'm so used to the greater mobility and agility of my liger. I could probably pilot anything other than those stupid things."

"I just know the looks of normal and customized zoids because I grew up around both types. My dad taught me how to spot modifications. It shouldn't take you long to spot them," She said wishing she still had her Gun Sniper. It had some of the best modifications for them.
