OOC ((There will be a new forum set up for the casino in the guild, complete with maps for the layout of the casino. Everyone is welcome to simply pick a room and make it theirs temporary or permanent and do as they like so long as it does not interrupt the plans of the allied princes or heads may roll. (Map will not change so other than those with specific names upon them, I will not be updating it except for NPCs) Some jobs do have requirements on them, but it's an easy one to fulfill. It only requires an IC PM or even a short rp with the appropriate person. This is just so we know what's going on so that ours can react to it if needed. If there are problems, Theros could be of great help. Or not. XD We will also give out jobs from time to time, stating a situation, what resolution that Asmo or Seere want, how, and whom to report to after it is finished. Remember... there is a darker side to the casino. It may be all lights, elegance and glamour on the surface but even a cook might find his way deeper by creating concoctions that manipulate, change, or poison someone that will never be missed. Please look over the thread here and jump in as you feel like. It's all meant for fun. If you have a specific idea in mind and need to clear it with us because it affects the casino in some way, PM either Eftemie or Cinderfae. We are always open to creating/torturing/orotherwisemangling npcs. This is not exclusively for owners. Lurkers are welcome so if you have a friend who is interested, go for it. XD We are open to all. The more the merrier. NPCs in red are usable by everyone in the casino. Those in blue have players. Not all open have descriptions yet. They will have so ask or look please.)) ---------- Theros had paid for the advertisements in every newspaper as well as radio and television for nearly two months before the actual day of interviews came about. The billboards around the casino advertised the date and who to call for an appointment. At first they had thought one day would be enough. But then they knew they would never get all the people screened in one day, so it was changed to four days total. The first day would be doing nothing but taking phonecalls from applicants. The next three days would be checking them out when they came in.
It was his job as head of security to decide who and how these people were hired. And if they could be trusted. He knew in a glance whether they could be or not. The first part of the hiring was done by groups. He would look them over and sort out those to go on to the second stage of the interview. This was a quality establishment at least on the surface, and that was what he planned to ensure their employees looked and acted like. At least the human ones. There would be those demons and half demons that would arrive also. Those would be dealt with differently. They would talk to Asmodeus and or Seere.
The second portion of the screening was a general knowledge test. For security guards it was a written test on fireams, rules, and what the job entailed. For others it might be cooking or something else. If they passed this section, they were asked to return the next day for an interview. Mischa and Cela watched the entire process discussing those they liked with Theros.
Those who came to him now were those who had passed the first two areas. These were the main interviews. Those hired for general work would end up speaking to Cela. Those hired for security would speak to Theros directly. After hired, all would speak to Paul or Robert to get their information and a tour of the casino, at least those places they were allowing most to go. Those hired for any position of prominance spoke to not only Cela and Theros, but also Mischa. All three at the same time. And each interview would be privately held in Mischa's office.
The two secretaries and receptionist that had been hired for the offices were highly recommended by Stephan Baxter. He knew they could step in and take charge easily and with few problems once they understood the structure of the place.
He poured himself a cup of coffee while waiting on the first interview to show up. It was going to be a long week. They had two weeks before they planned to open and they would need everyone. He glanced over to where Cela and Mischa were going over the lists from the previous day. It would soon start and they would all be busy.
Glancing back over the listing, he reread what they needed and wanted.

She had a great walk. No, Leto Darnell had a killer walk, the sort designed to attract all one's attention to her legs and her a**. The legs seemed to go on for miles, ended in cute black boots that might have gone to her mid-calf but were folded down about her ankles; the a**, well, it was perfect. That was the word to describe Leto Darnell; perfect. She tossed her long black hair over one shoulder and combed back her bangs to emphasize the delicately pointed ears. Outside the office, she straightened her long coat- falling to her ankles, the black silk fell open at just the right place to make her chest look exactly the right size for her thin shoulders.
"Hello, sweetie," said Leto, pushing open the door. "How are you today?" She draped herself neatly over Theros's shoulders and pressed a delicate, feather-like kiss to the hollow of the man's neck. The attentions might not be welcome, but she genuinely believed the half-demon wouldn't be so easily distracted. More for her comfort than her own, she interlocked her fingers and stared at the cup of coffee.
Curiously- with more professional curiosity than anything- she examined the list. "I didn't realize that so many jobs were needed," she mused, right into his ear. This was a game- a fun one.
She pretended she didn't see the second half of the list.

Theros raised an eyebrow as she kissed him and continued to play. She was nice to watch. That much he would admit, and although most likely a great deal of fun, she was not what he was looking for. At least not at this moment. He grinned suddenly, laughing. "If I didn't know better, Leto, I'd think that was a pass you just made at me. Any other day, I'd most likely be interested, but not today."
"And not since you are on the payroll. I already promised Mischa I'd not touch, but I never said anything about not looking." He laughed, gently extricating himself from her as he glanced over the applications in the stack. Some he flagged and others he put to one side.
"Pour yourself a cup of coffee and have a seat. By the way two of my guys finally showed up. Paul Clark and Robert Godfrey. You should know them by sight. Can't miss Robert. He's got bruiser written all over him and flaming red hair. Paul won't be far. They are keeping track of applicants coming up here."

"Aw," she said, pouting adorably as she allowed herself to be shrugged off. Always the same, always a rejection- not like she really cared, you know. It was just a little annoying, to not be allowed to sleep with The Boss. Of course she knew about the, ahem, darker side of The Boss (and his friend, that delicious-looking dark-haired man). That was why she'd agreed to come here, after all; the nearness to such exotic artifacts would keep her mind neatly ordered for the jobs she normally professed to do.
Which happened to be her second calling- at least at the Tempest. "Maybe later. On a day off, perhaps?" A saucy smile that parted her crimson lips like a rose blooming, and she tilted her head at just the right angle to make her wine-red irises to sparkle in the light. She took the extended invitation to the coffee, poured a neat cup and settled on the edge of the desk, facing out.
"Oh, all right," she said, unconcerned but sure she'd recognize the men off the bat anyway. "Theros, honey, I met an interesting forensic accountant before I came here. Those're the ones that work with the cops? Maybe I should talk to him-" or maybe he'd already applied?
She gestured at the papers. "May I?"

Quote: Character's Name: Shuuen Wakahisa Owner Name: Rown Job wanted: Costumer
Character's Name: Shuuko Wakahisa Owner Name: Rown Job wanted: Costumer The twins strolled into the Casino grounds, hands interlocked and swaying slightly with each step, without much care for what could and could not come to pass. They'd been bored and wanted to pass their spare time off as of late, which seemed more frequent thanks to holidays and sudden cancellations of lessons, so a call for workers of any trade had greatly appealed to them. Mostly so because they enjoyed doing things that would garner them praise, and what better way to earn praise then by making things people wore while at a casino?
"Shuu's idea to come here was a good one. We'll certainly have a chance to do something fun this way."
One twin squeezed the hand of the other, their interlaced fingers pulsing with the movement, and it garnered wide smiles. Their hands led up to matching sleeves that were attached to a matching dress and suit set, Victorian era a tribute to their mind and style.
"I agree, but Shuu's talent is what will get us far. No one can work the way Shuu does, not working together with me."
The pair giggled as they walked along, heading towards an office they had perhaps been to once before. They were surprised to see it somewhat open and a woman inside, straddling a man for a moment, before that same woman moved off to lean and look at some papers.
"Oh, interesting."
They sounded not unlike a Greek chorus, if only made up of two voices.

His lips twitched upwards as he watched her in a great deal of amusement. "Maybe another day." She'd be fun if nothing else and there were times when he could use a distraction or two. But not this day. Not for awhile yet. There was far too much to do to get everything in place. It would not do to leave one option uncovered or one opening unblocked. Others would take advantage of that and he did not plan to let them.
"That stack there, Leto." He indicated the one to the side of her. "I flagged those earlier as possibles. If he's not in that stack, then he might be in the one I'm going through now. Some seemed almost over-qualified for what we need, but that's good. It means they will be able to handle even more than normal."
He tapped his pen a moment as he read over the current application in front of him. "We are still going to be about a hundred applications more than we need."
Theros glanced over at the doorway. Noting the twins, he smiled. "Shuuen and Shuuko. I remember you. Cela is waiting on you in that office over there. She said she had a meeting with both of you." He indicated the door just down the hallway. The twins he remembered as Cela wanting them for costuming the shows and both seemed to be very interested in such. "The door should be open."
Cela Marschal sat in the room going over the stack of applications that Theros had cleared for her earlier. Her first appointment should be here soon. She was sure there would be some good costumers in the mix. She knew that Mischa was going over applications in her office also, but those were for the main jobs as chef, casino manager, and more. Those would ultimately take all three of them to go over.

She smiled, bright and cheerful and innocent, and said, "Of course you'll think of me first, dearest?" And she took the stack of papers, then looked up when the door creaked open a little more. Two children, she thought, and wasn't really disappointed- the ones she might have to eventually work with would come, and then she'd be interested. Statutory rape was so not her thing, for all she embraced other societal taboos. (Murder came to mind.) She smiled again, sweetness and light with a bite of dark enticement- just enough to be inappropriate. "Have fun, sweetlings," she caroled, looking at the pile.
She didn't have to look long, finding the man she sought right in the beginning of the stack. The very top, in fact. "Oh yes," she said, looking at it. "Oh, Richter. I didn't know you were so dissatisfied with normal accountancy."
Meanwhile, out in the lobby, said Richter was wandering through- completely uncertain as to where to go, though he didn't look it. In fact he looked impeccably put-together. Even a little frightening, if the snake demoness behind him was an indication of how bad he alone could ******** you up (read: not at all). Down side: he was lost. Remember?
Leto tilted her head over one application. "If this place is called the Tempest, perhaps I should change my name to Ariel," she murmured. She'd never made a secret of her false name, though she'd never revealed the true one either.

"Oh."
The reply came as an echo again, both speaking together as they nodded to the man's calling of their names and giving of instructions as to where to go. Shuu giggled at the comment from the daring woman from before leaving Shuu to chuckle beside, and they both moved more into view before they bowed and scampered down the hall, hands still laced together as they went. Sometimes holding hands made walking difficult, more often then not they tripped or pulled one another's elbows, but they felt safest this way. For now.
As they approached the room where they were told to go, the one housing the woman named Cela, Shuu entered first and pulled Shuu right behind. They stopped at the doorway, just enough in to be seen, and bowed their heads in proper greeting.
"The Wakahisa twins are here, pleased to meet you and to provide any services requested."
Shuu bowed his head, his black hair bouncing against his ears thanks to his recent haircut and new style of wearing it, while he looked over to notice that Shuu was doing the same and her hair was acting the same. Ah, twins.

Theros watched them a moment as the twins moved away. Then he turned his attention back to the application she had. "Richter, huh? The man seemed very sharp. It's why I put him on the top. I thought he might be of significant use for more than the normal operations. There's more to him than meets the eye."
"I need to take this list down to Robert and Paul downstairs." He stated, getting out of his chair. "Unless you'd like to meet both men and take it for me. That way I can continue to go over these others. It's just a list of ones to direct to Mischa's office instead of here." He knew Asmo was there and the more in depth interviews would happen there.
Cela glanced upwards at the twins. She smiled nodding to them. "Come in and have a seat. I've been waiting for you both." Their application was on top. Their style and flare was interesting and she was sure they would enjoy helping with the shows. "Do you have any idea what the job of costumer is here? I only ask because I want to see what ideas you may have for it. Mischa and I have decided on a set of costumes available but the shows are not always set in stone on what they will be wearing. You may also have to help the dancers dress as well as make certain that the costume changes between acts are ready for them. It's not simply about picking out the proper thing to use as a costume. Someone who shows initiative could be given that opportunity as well as more responsibility, but the one thing we will demand is that it is always done with style and elegance. The costumes may be scanty but they will still be classy."

Mischa paced the floor of her office until finally Asmodeus growled. "Sit down." The girl turned to watch him slowly, eyes narrowing. An intense glare crossed her face as he continued to watch her. Saying nothing, she turned to look outside. It was a nice day out and the sun sparkled on the water.
Before too much longer she was pacing again. Asmodeus muttered under his breath as he finally got to his feet. "What is wrong with you? There's no reason to be so nervous about this. Theros and Cela will take care of things for you."
She turned to face him again. "Maybe I don't want to be taken care of." she snapped in return. "Maybe I want to do this myself rather than depend on everyone else."
He raised an eyebrow, then smirked. "Oh really?" Reaching out he put a finger under her chin leaning forwards to stare at her. "Since when? Jeffrey took care of you." His other hand stroked her cheek a moment. A gentle caress but it was done in amusement and she knew it. He was making fun of her.
"Shut up." she snapped jerking her chin away. "I didn't have much choice then. I do now."
"You think so?" he smirked. She had less choice than she thought, but he could let her have the illusion of freedom. At least for a short while. When it came down to it in the end, she'd do what he wanted her to do. He blamed Sam for this influence and the occasional outburst. But he was not about to admit he liked this in Mischa. It was one of the things he had seen within her all along. She would start fighting and continue to fight the entire way. In fact he was quite certain she would afterwards also. It was what he wanted from her.
He broke into laughter. "We are all trapped and more free than we know, Mischa. Stuck between the court of hell and the kingdom of heaven. Playthings. Some pieces have simply learned to play the game better than others."
"Just go away, Asmodeus." she replied. Plaything perhaps but she still had a right to do some things for herself.
He laughed as if knowing her thoughts. "As you say, my Lady, but do not forget in the end you are still mine."
"We'll see." She muttered under her breath as she turned to look outside again. It was not that she did not appreciate what he had done for her, but she now knew that he had taken as much advantage of her as Jeffrey ever did. She would have to do as he wanted her to do and she couldn't say that people did not deserve it. Jeffrey had, but what about the others? Those that had been like her? Were they as much to blame for their situations as she had been? Was their fear and hers what held them there as much as Jeffrey and Asmodeus did? She was not quite certain. But she did plan to figure it out. And maybe when she did an option would present itself. Maybe.
Asmodeus smiled knowingly. He was interested to see who the casino drew out from the shadows. There had been a message laced within the add that Theros had placed. Those of his ilk would find their way here. Some out of curiosity and others out of need. Either way worked for he and Seere to gain more power. And they would.

"Oh..." Well, she only had a 50/50 chance of getting it right anyways. Pivoting on a stiletto heel, Mandy Young followed her bear of a dog down another clean corridor to the secretarial offices... hopefully. For once, Mandy was very professionally put together. Nice fitted black suit jacket and long pants. She didn't want to be stuck as a Gaian Bank clerk the rest of her life. She wanted to have a serious job and to be taken seriously, and this, she hoped, was going to be that place. Though, well, the top that could be seen underneath her nice suit wasn't exactly professional. It was a off-yellow baby doll dress with an umpire waist and little to keep her chest from spilling out. But, come on! She wasn't going to leave this interview completely to chance! A little cleave did a lot of persuasion. She moved swiftly like a woman who had somewhere important to be, wincing only once or twice when her ankle-breaking heels almost pulled her to the hard floor below. There was once a time when her poise and grace could carry her through any hairy situation. But, well, that was all stuck in a voodoo doll and she was left to drown with the commoners and their bad balance. "Here? Are you sure?" Grim stood silently beside her, nose pointed to the door in front. That was the only answer the brunette was going to get apparently so she turned the handle and walked in with a sweet grin, looking this way and that for a receptionist to lead her onward.

Theros sighed after Leto left and Richter. He actually liked the man and immediately hired him for the infiltration job he had in mind. They would meet later and go over the specifics. He wanted Asmo to meet him personally. And the fact that Lamia was with him would interest the demon prince a great deal. She was not one to mess with but could be an advantage in this place.
The twins were hired by Cela and he wondered briefly what trouble they would get into. Probably more than most knew. He'd be watching though. With a sigh he got to his feet, moving towards the main hallway. The receptionist was gone for a few moments, taking some people to get measured for uniforms.
Stepping out into the area, he stopped suddenly, lips twitching upwards at the girl in front of him. It was obvious what the yellow blouse was for and he grinned in amusement. Then he raised an eyebrow.
For a moment he said nothing, but then he smiled widely as he stared more at her 'dog' than her. Theros was certain it was Grim. He had heard the the hound had been summoned but never seen him. Theros folded his arms. "Well, well, what can I help you with? I'm Theros."

Mandy's smile clicked back on like a switch as she headed for this Theros. Grim circled seamlessly around with each stride, finally ending up between the "man" and Mandy like a waist-high shield. The woman didn't mind Grigsby's pandering, very much used to it, and kept her eyes on Theros, extending a small hand. "Hello, very nice to meet you. I'm Mandy young. I called a few days ago about an interview for me and my... dog..." She pointed a manicured nail at the ground as if the giant demon could have somehow been overlooked.
"The positions wanted were a bit vague, I do apologize. I thought it best if you met me and..." She had to fight not to stick her chest out. "... decided for yourself where I am qualified..." Her brown eyes wrinkled with the last few words.

"Well, it depends upon what you want. We do need a madam in charge of the girls here, but I'm more interested in 'Grim'. At least for now." He gave her a winning smile before turning to the dog without minding the hound had gotten between them. "You are Grim, no? I had heard you were summoned, but had never met you. Interested in taking charge of the hounds in the vault and that patrol the casino? All will be unseen by our customers unless there's a reason for it. The hounds will answer to you before us unless there is a major problem and then you will have help."
Theros folded his arms across his chest. "What happens to those breaking the rules is up to you so long as it's quiet. Prince Asmodeus is here. So is Prince Seere. This casino is theirs and we want to ensure that it is protected. None of us plan on going back for a long time if we can help it."
He was sure Grim would take him up on it. "You only answer to the princes and myself here. Other than your summoner." Theros nodded at Mandy with a faint smile. "As for the girls we have rooms on the back side in a private area. If you are interested in managing them, the job is yours. One of Seere's is the guard for them and you when you are there, but all security will ensure that there is no trouble. A room will be given to you for your use. Are you interested?

The shine from Mandy's eyes faded at the mention of Madam. Okay, sure, she put it down as a possibility, but ugh! Back where she started. Apparently once you're a slut... it kind of sticks to you. But, it was better than being a servant of commerce. Plus, she could always move up if she could make herself useful. Always think on the bright side of things, she reminded.
Grim sat back on his haunches beside his master, his head reaching just below Mandy's shoulders. His impassive red eyes looked from Theros to Mandy herself, lifting his head to see her face. He looked to her for approval. Though he couldn't deny, he relished a bit of power. Villainy was time-consuming and all, but it was growing monotonous. He wasn't the smartest creature, but leading a pack of animals couldn't be that difficult.
But Miss Young was still pondering this whole Madam thing. "So am I expected to... fill a quota as well...?" That was the best innuendo she could come up with on the spot. "And how long are the shifts? I mean, I'm used to being on a my feet all night..." Hmm, that didn't sound right. ".. Just curious..."
