History: Marananth son of Kylin and Merdanth. We live at Tillek Hold. I've been raised well. I've had and lost friends here and there.
I enjoyed going out to the sea and watching it. The rolling waves call to me. Everything seems to go my way even though I try hard for it.
i remember when I was five and caught my first fish. It was the most wonderful moment I have had. I am studying to be a fisherman. I spend many days out in my skiff and on boats sometimes. I've been training hard. My captain says I may make journeyman early if I keep working hard. I've been out to sea many times and it still captures me. I had a chance to visit Ista this week. I sa my first ever dragon up close of course. I've seen them flying around and stuff, but never knew they were so big. I wonder what it would be like to fly over the sea. I wonder if it looks different from up there.
I was hauling up anchor when a Dragonrider showed up. He flew around us for a bit and then landed. He came running up the dock looking for me. I was a tad surprised, but I let another take over and talked to him. My father it seems was badly hurt and had paid highly to get me back home. I ran with him down the dock, but not before informing the captain of my leave. He helped me onto the dragon. I smiled sadly and looked over the sea. It brought me a small bit of comfort. We took off and I felt the salty air rush by. It was a wonderful experience. Just moving through the air like this. Then I saw the sea. So vast and beautiful! I was amazed! Then I was warned we were about to go between, and I braced myself. It was cold there and silent. It was interesting. Then we appeared above the hold and we flew down. I thanked the rider profusely and ran home. My dad had been hooked and tangled in the ropes of his ship. I was shocked to see how he looked. I ran over and grabbed his hand. He smiled at me as best he could. My mother sat across from him tears running down her eyes. I felt mine as well, but shook my head. Time for that later. My dad told me about the accident and how the healers had done their best, but it would take him months to heal. I let go of dad's hand and went to my mother and hugged her. She cried in my shoulder and I pat her back. I stayed with them for a month before heading out again. My captain was glad to see me. I let my sorrows drown in the sea. I worked hard and drove myself into exhaustion. I ended up getting sick when we were delivering supplies to Ista Weyr. My captain had left me in their care as I had passed out in midstride and hit my head. The Healer wanted me there and asked me to rest for awhile. My captain would pick me up again when he returned with supplies. So I was in the Weyr for well over two weeks before I noted some of the dragons looking at me. I then tended to stay inside and only venture out to fish and work on the docks.
