Setting: Earth, a lake on the edges of a great plateau at night
User Image

Jordan sat upon a lake's edge and looked at the reflection of his home, the Second Moon, on the water's surface. His shoes were off, and his feet dipped into the water. He hummed a tune quietly before singing softly,

Fumbling, trying to find the keyhole, the town rests
And dyed with patterns of love, the decorative lights do not...
But shine faintly
None of my keys... they won't fit with your door
the lock on your door has just reset

His feet splashed the water gently and he watched the reflection of the Second Moon waver.

Noel's ears twitched slightly as he heard the soft singing of another... No one ever came to this lake, and hearing another being startled him... He hadn't been away from his home on the Second Moon for too long, and wasn't used to life on this celestial body just yet..

He dissolved into mist and slowly glided over the lake, wanting to observe the stranger, yet too shy to truly approach.

Jordan continued to sing softly. He noticed the approach of mist subconsciously, but he did not need to worry about just a little mist. It was most likely just due to the lowering temperature. He stood and continued to sing as he looked at the glittering stars above.

The flower cactus that you casually gave me before still didn't bloom
I demanded a chance to step forward...
so I can pour out these feelings to you

Noel slowly came closer, the mist getting thicker as it he slowly lost conscious control of his cover.. He was entranced at the other's singing, it reminded him so much of home... The ballad took away the pain of the loneliness he had felt for such a long time..

Jordan felt the presence of a form coalescing in the mist and lets his gaze drop to the lake before him. There, the mist had shaped into the resemblance of another like him... But the details were somewhat hidden, and he continued to sing, hoping to bring the other forward.

Although fragile, bye bye long rain
"...Further more, it was great being able to see your eyes up close," I said to you

Noel had slipped into the waters and now was simply sitting in the shallows of the lake, gazing gently at Jordan, near his feet, curious. He wasn't aware that he could be seen now..

The lyrics were entrancing.. Like a siren's song...

Jordan saw another like him in the water nearby, so he continued to sing.

The familiar coming and goings on the street... always different
And next to you, our fingertips will always touch

He finished his song and looked down at the other with a grin, "Hello there. Who might you be?" He knelt in the water in front of the other, grinning friendly.

Noel snapped out of his daze and shyly looked up, blushing that the other was so close. With a wave of his wrist, letters appeared out of the mist. I'm Noel... W-who are you..?

Jordan smiled, "I can't read."

He laughed at the face Noel made and grinned, "Just kidding. Hello Noel. I'm Jordan."

He rose slowly, pulling the water from his clothing with a wave of his hand. The small "theft" of the water was just one of his random abilities, he returned the water to the lake, negating any effects.. He held a hand out to Noel, offering to help him stand, as he asked, "What brings you here on this fine night?"

Noel timidly took the hand and stumbled up. He blushes again and gazed at the other's ability to make the water disappear... I don't know.. I've been stuck here for a long time.. And Was all alone.. Can I ask.. How did you make the water leave your clothes...?

Jordan caught the other as he stumbled, then looked down at his clothing. "I am a thief, a master thief. I just 'stole' the water from my clothing." He laughed and grinned, "I can steal anything."

He walked to the edge of the lake and stepped out, drying his feet before replacing his boots. "You are stuck here..? Why?"

Noel held a lantern close to his chest. I.. I don't have much.. But this is all I have.. I.. I don't want it to be stolen.. He began to cry, looking down sadly. What kinda trouble did get himself into...?

Jordan tilted his head and raised Noel's chin with a fingertip, "Don't cry. I am not a thief of such things. Chivalry and nobility are key roles in The Thief's life."

He smiled and asked, "Would you smile if I show you a secret?" He opened a small bag at his side and removed a small ball of light, holding it in front of him and smiling, "It's starlight."

Noel looked on with frighten eyes and nodded, pulling away to sit beside the thief. They widen in awe as Jordan pulled out a ball of light.

Did.. Did you steal a star..? Why would you do that..? He looked down sadly... To be so mean to steal something so beautiful..
