Oh that Kyu-Ryu! Not even a day under his roof and the man was off with a woman! A woman of less then reputable taste at that! Now...she wqas expecting? The gods must hate him..or Kyu. But, from what he got the man was just in it for the fun, and had little care for the consequence of his actions. Unlike himself. Oh...If he has a mate, he would at least show some respect, not to mention be willing to support the mother. Really...was the old way of a man taking care of his woman so...bizarre? Heck, with some...He didn't even need a female! He could breed with another male! Oh...he didn't want to think about that. How...Uh...Joachim just could not picture the science behind that.
Sitting down in the meadow, the Constellation sighed.
Even he had to admit...he did feel a twinge of jealousy in Kyu's luck.

The soft footfalls from his hooves seemed to echo loudly in his ears as he bounded through the forest. The light that struck at the forest’s edge nearly blinded him, but only as a sign of his relief. There, the Cat wouldn’t chase him to the end of his boundaries. It knew he would return soon enough anyway, since he lacked anywhere else to go.

Breathing heavily, the Phyri glanced backwards as his feet led him out of the forest and into a… meadow? He shook his head in confusion, but forced each of his reluctant legs forward until the forest was only a slight image behind him.

It took him another few minutes to notice the presence of another life-- a Constellation, children of the Second Moon. Bane felt a mixture of hesitance and distress, and perhaps some faint tendrils of curiosity and annoyance. He trotted forward slowly, hooves crunching into the grass with purposeful noise.

”What are you doing here?” Bane questioned, voice soft and revealing little of the Phyri’s emotion.

Opening his eyes, Joachim turned to look at the source of the voice. Hm...a Phyri....Supposedly a race akin to his own. "What I am doing in none of your concern...unless you have also been plagued by the bane of my existence...that slime ball Kyu-Ryu." Joachim spat the name into the wind.
Again, he sighed. What right did he have to this meadow? It was not his..."Forgive me...I have not had the best of days." Standing he gave a small bow. "I am Joachim, Constellation of Redemption. I am here to...clear my mind of unpleasant thoughts."

His eyes narrowed at the Constellation’s tone, anger flaring up despite his normally calm nature. He resisted the urge to rise on to his back legs and slam a hoof or two against the strange creature before him. With a soft hiss, the Phyri merely shook his head lightly and released a rather annoyed, but marginally polite reply. “I have no idea who this Kyu-Ryu is, my apologies for not knowing of the source of your distress.”

Bane only calmed a bit at Joachim’s apology, but annoyance still bubbled restlessly within the Phyri. “…I see.” He nodded his head lightly, debating if he should offer a name as well. The Phyri had no idea whether the title ‘Constellation of Redemption’ had any sort of meaning or worth. After all, his days were often simply filled with the maniacal laughter and ploys of the Catastrophic Cat.

“My master---“ He paused, tilting his head slightly. “Bane… My name is Bane.”

"Bane?" Joachim smiled. "It is a good name, despite its meaning." Scotting over, the motioned to the spot next to him. "You are welcome to join me....You are the first Phyri I have meet, and I am much curious about your race. After all...our kind don't really get out much." He gave a small grin, as if he had just said some kind of inside joke.

The Phyri stared at the open spot beside Joachim for a moment before finally stepping forward. His steps were silent this time, bearing no sound as his hooves pressed against the soft blades of grass. “Is it?” he questioned quietly at the Constellation’s thought on his name. Bane smiled faintly for a moment, a dark smile. “That isn’t what people would normally consider of my name… not that I find myself with many others a lot.”

He carefully knelt beside Joachim, letting his legs rest slightly to his side comfortably. “You would be the first Constellation I’ve met,” the Phyri murmured. “Though, I’ve seen various younger ones of your kind.” Bane glanced briefly at the Constellation. “I can’t really tell you much about Phyri, considering I’ve never seen any other Phyri besides myself.”

"Well...How about this? I ask a question, and you may ask one in turn. Anything at all. But, if you should feel that the question is to invasive..feel free to refrain from answering. I do not mind." he paused and chuckled. "Ah, forgive me, I must seem quite unmannered." He smiled. "If you like, you may as the first question...or...just ask a stream of them. I need something to remove my mind from unpleasantries."

“…” The Phyri said nothing for a moment, debating whether to play this strange ‘pro-quid-pro’ game. “…Alright.” He had grown used to not asking questions, so it would take a while to grasp something he wanted answered. Besides, it didn’t seem like the questioning was mostly for his curiosity’s benefit anyway. “How was it that you came to be?”

“I’ve heard tales that your kind was born from a Candle, but there are also others that say that the Candle is merely what drew you here in the first place.”

Taking a deep breath, Joachim searched his memories...and had little to offer.
"Well, I do not remember my own, personal creation...one of my youngest memories is that I was floating in the night sky...with the very stars themselves..." He looked up at the sky and smiled. "I could see a light, glittering brightly...went I went to it...I found myself with others like me...we were together..."
"I think we come from another place...but yes...I think that the light which drew my here was the light of the candle, for, I do recall the scent of smoke, wax...and a strange smell...unlike anything I had even known before."
Looking back down to the earth, he sighed. "Yet...now, the blight of my existence has created life...so...we must come from others of our kind...but...maybe...we require the candles to draw our people from afar. I honestly...do not know." Ah...now that creation question would nag him all night. He hated when he did not understand things.

"What of your race? Once, I was told they were born from the spirits of the land...another, came from the very stars...what do you think?"

Bane looked somewhat interested in the vague tale of Joachim’s birth. “Another place?” He gestured lightly to the sky with a hand. “The Second Moon, you mean?” The Cat had told him various stories of it, stories when it had been free to wreak havoc and destruction while traveling everywhere it wished. “…the blight of your existence… That Kyu-Ryu you spoke of earlier?” The Phyri tilted his head slightly in slightly confusion, brows furrowing as the wheels turned inside his head.

Shaking off the bemusement, Bane thought over the question Joachim had asked. “Honestly, I don’t really know. My master…” He shook his head again; perhaps soon he’d been dizzy from it. “I know my birth was unique in a way--- since, before this form, I’d been captured in a bottle for the longest of time.”

"A bottle?" Joachim made a face that was a mix of disgust and curiosity. "What creature forces another into a bottle? Was it this..Master you speak of?" Oh, he may be a bit vile and cruel..but to hold another creature in a BOTTLE! But..of lord....what is ALL phyri came from bottles?...If that was the case, he's set out to free every last one of them.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 15, 2009 10:36 pm

“Yes, a bottle.” The Phyri shrugged lightly. This was the first time he’d ever spoken of it. The Cat had shown little remorse for keeping the Phyri there. “I do not remember so much, as I said before. It would be likely that …my master did collect me into it, but it has never said anything of the sort.” Bane cast his gaze towards the sky, though it slid back to Joachim after a moment. He was intrigued by the expressions on the Constellation’s face to a degree.

“I suppose there are many types of creatures in this world. My master would be one of them,” Bane muttered quietly. “For all I know of it, it could have easily bought me from an unsuspecting child that had thought I was merely an odd bunch of fireflies.”

Agaian, Joachim's mind reeled. "Your master...is he not...benevolent to you? I mean..what master traps one in a bott-" He paused and frowned. "Forgive me. Again, it is your turn for a question, yet...I cannot hold my own tongue it seems. Forgive me if I cut you off." Oh...he felt a bit foolish...what is his manner was rude? Was...having such a master a common thing? Hh....He could never understand it.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 15, 2009 11:12 pm

“My master is…” Bane went silent, shuddering. He was taught not to give away any secrets, however small. “I cannot say. It is… merely not inclined to respect anyone.”

“It does not matter to me whether you ask out of turn or not.” The Phyri had only a tiny handful of questions himself; he couldn’t help it if he was not a curious creature from the backlash that resulted when he’d questioned the Cat. He grimaced at the memories that surfaced from the thought. “Curiosity is merely a sign of living, after all.”

Habitually, he stroked the bright blue markings on his right hand. “Do you often occupy this area?”

Watching the movements and actions of Bane, Joachim got the feeling that his case was an unusual one...one that he should not pry at. Joachim did say that he may avoid a question, and not be obligated to answering it. "Well..." Looking around him, Joachim could not think of a place he went to often....but, it was certainly not here.
"No, not in particular. I tend to move a round a lot. I have no real base or home either...I come and go as I please..." For a brief second he wondered what a life in one place must be like...drab and dull.
"But, I enjoy this lifestyle. I may find my own path and do as wish with myself, good and bad." Again, the idea of settling down in one spot plagued him. He might have to someday....hopefully not anytime soon.
"Ahem, anyway, tell me, I understand some of your race can fly. Does that mean your race contains sub-classes, or, is this skill with all of your kind?"
