I'm bored so I'm posting this.
What's your favorite song to play on the Viola or violin? Why is it your favorite? Where did you find it?

WireChoir Workout! I love the viola's part. We ALMOST played it my sophomore year...then the violins complained that they couldn't do it so our conductor took it away.
Other than that, anything by mozart. It's totally insane! I love the psychotic changes throughout every song.
And this year, we're playing Rites of Tamburo with a full orchestra. I'm super excited.

Goblin Dance! It's by... Doug Spata. I found it when I was in eighth grade from my orchestra teacher. We played it for our winter concert. ONLY the violas play with bows in that piece. Everyone else is pizzicato. questing! helpiez?!

TheGoldenPiggyBank I just love, LOVE, Concert Song and another one is Perpetual Motion. Haha. I hated perpetual motion, but that was because we played it way too much. Nostalgia...

Although Dives and Lazarus by Ralph Vaughan Williams is my all time favorite, hands down, Fingal's Cave by Felix Mendelssohn is growing on me the more we play it. Another of my favorite pieces is Brandenberg Concerto Number 3, by Bach. It's taken us to state twice, my freshmen and junior years.
I played Dives and Lazarus first during sophomore year, and then again this year. It's got a GORGEOUS second viola part. Simply fantastic. heart
