The large cyan colored male lifted himself off of the ground with a yawn. Waking himself up from a nap. He had to get around to the borders for a bit, now that he is awake.
He grunted as he stood and stretched himself out, lifting his head and shaking the dust out of his pelt. "Aine," he called out to her, "I'll be home later." He wasn't that sure if she was sleeping or not but she was going to call out to her anyway, atleast if she was then she would know he was out.
And with that he was trotting toward the borders of the pride, making his normal rounds. With his two of his sons children around and also his own litter still young, and you can't forget his teenage daughters he wanted to make sure that the den, the pride and everyone in it was safe for sure, that was the point of his pride, keep everyone safe, thats what he wanted to do.
However on the trip that he was making today he did not to expect to find the little cub that he was about to run into soon.

Alem lowered his body to the ground, rolling his shoulders as he did. This would be his first time hunting. He'd watch a few lionesses he's seen here and there and felt like he had it down. It was all in gaining the element of surprise. Or so Alem figured.
The only thing was, Alem didn't know what he was hunting. All he had seen was a figure moving in the distance and as it got closer it also got bigger. There's no way I can take THAT out, Alem thought with a sigh. There went his chance at a good meal.
Then the figure came into full view and it was a lion. The first one Alem had seen up close in a long time. This male probably hadn't even seen Alem yet. He would just walk by without even giving him a passing glance.
"Hello," Alem said, suddenly popping up from out of the grass. The cub didn't feel like being left alone at the moment.

Neo blinked as he thought that he had a voice call out to him. He turned around from where he was, looking around and scanning the area, looking for a lion bu not realizing that he had to look down for the voice. He blinked for a moment before looking down at the small cub in front of him. He hadn't seen a lone cub around here in a while. The sight of him made him smile widely.
"Hello there little one." He said softly with a smile growing on his face, he leaned down some to look at him. "What are you doing out here alone?" he asked with a soft chuckle before shaking his head softly. "Where is you're mother, or father I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want you out wondering alone." He chuckled softly shaking his head, he knew that he wouldn't like it all that much if his cubs went out for a while with out him knowing or even if he did know. When they were that small he always sent out others in the pride to watch them.

The small cub rolled his eyes as the lion looked about above. It seemed to Alem that cubs weren't usually out and about. Guessing that the adult took a while to realize he should look down, that is.
"Out here alone?" Alem repeated. He was unsure how best to answer. There was the obvious option of telling the truth, but the results could vary greatly. Being cast away or brought home being two main ones. While the other option of lying only led to one possible result; an escort home.
Home to where, though? Since there was no where for Alem to return to, the cub decided the truth would be best. "I've never had a father and my mother passed away out there somewhere." As he admited this he turned to face the vast expance of desert he had previously been a part of. "So, no offence, but I don't think they very much mind where I am," Alem said as he presented the lion with a smile of his own. His was full of false bravery and lost love.

There was a lot of cubs around accidentally... but they were all his. Errr related to him. So there wasn't that many cubs around here that he didn't know. A smile grew on his face at the sight of a cub. He loved cubs it was great to see one, but it made him wonder why he was out here. With the 'out here alone?' Neo got in response it made him arch a brow at the little male. "Yes little one." He answered right away chuckling softly, sitting down and back onh is haunches.
Neo looked at his with a soft look on his face. He never knew of a loss like that. Neither of his parents died, they were always there. His siblings lived with him until he moved to his own den with his mate and children. She grinned softly before sighing softly. "I can't say I understand little one... But I can offer something to you."
He chuckled softly before flicking his tail behind him. "I have a big enough den, there is plenty of room." He smiled softly then nodded. "I have plenty of other cubs. If you need a place to stay little one, you are welcome." He grinned softly. "My name is Neo. I am the king of these lands. My father is king of a pride not that far off from here." He nodded proudly. He was proud of his father, and also proud of himself. He loved being a king.

Alem had been perfectly fine not knowing his father. Since his mother raised him, he never had a reason to yearn for a male presence. All he know of was love. But now that he lost even that, the need to belong was stronger than Alem ever knew.
"Really? Do you really mean that?!" Alem asked getting really excited. He jumped a little bit off the ground and swished his tail happily. Finding a male who was so kindly asking Alem to join his family was like a miracle; a chance at a new life.
"Nice to meet you... your highness?" The poor cub had never come across royalty before so he was unsure how to adress Neo. Alem had stayed away from prides most of the time, fearful of what they might do to a weak from hunger cub like himself. He figured it was best to start formal, though. Better to be too polite than not polite enough in which an fight could insue.
"So, you're part of a legacy, then," Alem concluded, after realizing the part about Neo's father.
