A place of peace and quiet, as willed by the Slug Elders. The Land of Slugs can be found in a hidden valley where everything is abundant and clean. Slugs of all sorts of sizes and colors roam about the lands, and mostly some rest by the shores of a wide running river. The Slug Elders reside in their own sacred temple. There, the Slug Masters, along with Katsuyu, rest in a gigantic hall.

Daytime at the Slug Temple was always silent. Slugs lay around all day, doing nothing at all, all due to the relaxing atmosphere. Slugs were typically slow, yes, but in this realm, they were not. A sea of white cotton like creatures began to foam up the center pedestal of the temple. The area was filled, then, with cries of curiosity. A few seconds later and Hakubi's hand had appeared, and next was his head, neck, torso and all.
"Whe-where are we, Katsuyu?" he asked, though, in wonder, never realizing that Katsuyu had already left him.
"We are... at the Land of Slugs, Hakubi-chan," said a commanding, yet, serene female voice that echoed throughout the valley. Katsuyu, a majestic figure of about 50 storeys, stood before him. In this land, she was bigger, and much more powerful.
"I do not remember you being so bug, Katsuyu," he mused, mouth open as he measured, by eye scanning, how tall this form of Katsuyu really was.

Katsuyu merely nodded. She did not disregard the fact that Hakubi was young, nor the fact that he was still spiritually recovering from the incident. He was a growing boy, he needed time and space to think things over - to find out who was at fault. "You will be learning how to use your summons to the fullest here, Hakubi-chan," said Katsuyu.

"How so?" he asked, without hesitation. He did not see how it worked yet, and all he knew was the power of the summoning, but not of the summoner himself. In turn, Katsuyu answered straightforwardly as well. "It's not the summon who is in need of strenght, but the summoner himself," she explained, "You will learn Natural Chakra Control, and once you do, you will find peace,"

Hakubi was unable to see where this was going. Natural Chakra Control, he knew of this from recent rumors that have been happening in the shinobi lands. Nevertheless, he merely thought of rumors as uncertain, unless proved true and that was what he usually did. "I understand," he mused. "I will do my best,"

"I am sure you will," said the queen slug as she divided herself into about a thousand small slugs that looked just like her. The sea of cloned slug surrounded him, seemingly forming a seal of their own. With her own body, she formed the Kanji of "Slug" within the seal. "This will help you control your chakra," she said. A quizical look on his face, Hakubi asked. "What for?"

"To draw out Sluggish Natural Chakra, you would have to take your chakra control to great levels of precision. That, Hakubi-chan, I can see in you," said the slug, "- but maintaining this kind of chakra control is difficult. Your body must not be displaced even for the smallest of distances," she explained. Hakubi got it fully, though some others of a lower intellect may not. It was expected. Nodding to her, he agreed. Hakubi sat down in the center of a seal where he started concentrating on equalizing the chakra flow in all parts of his body.

Hakubi closed his eyes and started to meditate. This would heighten his sense of internal feeling, as he would feel his chakra grow stronger. He would feel it passing through his body and he would try to control it as it did. For now, he would try and focus on finding away, as he meditated, to not move even for the slightest bit.

"Do not loose your concentration, Hakubi-chan. This is a risky jutsu to train. If you loose concentration half-way, you will dissolve into nothing and you will perish," said Katsuyu. This did not discourage him, no. In fact, he was in it for the thrill of learning. He wanted this to get things straight, for a purpose - to be stronger, to be accepted in Magma... To protect... the village that exiled him?

Hakubi let out a small grunt, feeling the pain in his crossed legs. Somehow, as he did not want to look at what happened, a portion of his shank had become separated from the leg. No, he did not want to see it. With sweat trickling down his neck, he continued, also, as he felt the pain.

"Do not speak. Concentrate. Don't let anything interfere with your meditation," he thought to himself. The wind had gifted them with a soft breeze, and Hakubi was already finding himself being relaxed. He was starting to feel the chakra boiling inside of him - its true nature. This was what he would need to control, he would need to use every fiber of his being to control this, to feel the natural energy flowing outside of him.

"You're not in focus, child. More!" yelled the slug queen. Small slugs of various colors started to gather around Katsuyu's seal and Hakubi. Each of them spraying silk all over the area, hitting Hakubi and thereby covering him with it. He did not move, as instructed, but he knew that he was still moving, swaying from left to right and back to front from time to time. "It's not enough," he said, tryign harder.

"Don't think, Hakubi-chan, feel," Katsuyu advised. Hakubi would have to follow as he would not want to die such a death. He tried and tried as hard as he could, but he just couldn't keep himself from thinking, from getting inner peace. His brows furrowed closer to each other, and his mind would react. It was not working as easy as that, even though he was an expert in control.

He did not know how to do this. How he was supposed to think of the unthinkable? How was he supposed to clear his mind out, from Kirama, from Magma, from everything?Was he supposed to think in general, for the sake of many. What kind of mind did he have anyway? It was painful to the mind, and his chakra was racing, going above normal levels as it heightened.

"Your are getting closer, Hakubi-chan. Concentrate, feel, find yourself lost," said the slug queen. Said as easily as that, this was the hardest thing Hakubi has ever done. He continued to wander in his mind, swimming away from the sea of thoughts and memories. Then, the question hit him, after all of the questions he threw at himself, this could be the one that would start everything.

"Katsuyu," called Hakubi. Everything was silent for a second. The slug seemed to give him more attention as their spiritual relationship were beginning to become united. "How do you feel?" Hakubi asked her. He was smiling, thinking of the answer for himself as well.

All was silent, and then suddenly, yellow chakra started to pour out from the center of the seal. It was like golden and clear fire, consuming Hakubi as he started to feel lighter. "To feel," Katsuyu mused, "Is to listen with your heart," - and it struck Hakubi, the yellow chakra glowing brightly as he felt his body become lighter and lighter. Natural Energy has been tapped, and this would be the first step to controlling it.

"You've got yourself a skilled child, Katsuyu," mused a slug who was merely watching from outside of the seal. "He's already managed to draw forth Natural Chakra to himself," he added. Katsuyu, on the other hand, remained silent, knowing that Hakubi could do far more than this.

"You are close in finding your answer," she mused, gathering up the copies of herself and reforming her main body. Hakubi would no longer need her assistance in controling the natural chakra. He could do that by himself. He just needed to believe. The concentration of yellow chakra around him started to get smaller. He was trying to have it flow through him, all over his body with his normal chakra.

Feeling with one's heart. Hakubi felt as if he were taken away to a different place. It was as if he'd died and became merely a spirit that walked the earth. He felt warm and comfortable all over, a feeling that had not been with him for the longest of times. Then, markings of blue over his face started to appear.

It was like having a blue "#" sign drawn across Hakubi's face, then, it rearranged itself. The blue markings shadowed his eyes. As he opened them, he could see everything clear and vibrant as it was before he learned to open his heart to the world - before he learned that he could open his eyes to the world and the energies that flow inside of it.

"Now you shall learn how to make use of our combined full power, Hakubi-san," said Katsuyu, now considering him as one of the Slug Sages, with praise of attaining it in such a short amount of time. Standing up, he flashed a grin - a smile that has long left his face. "I am Hakubi Mei," he introduced himself, "-age fourteen, and I am the first Sage of Slugs!"

After learning how to manipulate Natural Energy, Hakubi was ready to take on the next step. For this jutsu to work, he would have to be synchronized fully with his parter - Katsuyu. The Slug Elder Fusion would not be easy to perform, as he and the slug queen as of now are only starting to understand each other. Standing up with a shadow of blue on his eye lids and green beneath the lines of his eyes, he looked at the towering figure of the summon.

Hakubi closed his eyes. His hands were moving in towards each to form the seal of the ram. Slowly, he started to slow down his breathing, feeling everything around him, sensing the air brush along his skin. Yellow chakra started to illuminate the area. He contained this chakra and let it flow inside him, yellow natural chakra firing up every bodily function

When it had gotten to feel good enough, Hakubi stopped. He walked over to Katsuyu and placed his hand over her belly, sending off his chakra as it resonated with her own sluggish one. When it had gotten to the peak of her power, he started to pull something from Katsuyu. Later on, it was revealed to be the slug elder, a small yet divine-looking slug. Hakubi watched it happen with a straight face. Katsuyu then shrunk to about the size of a cap/hat now, so much similar to the size of the slug elder

The slug elder quickly hopped on top of his head from the palm of his hands. It was there where the fusion would take place. A blue circular formation of Chakra appeared right at the center of his forehead. This would signify the link that the elder and Hakubi. "How are you feeling now, Hakubi-chan?" asked the small slug queen. There was a stiff silence in the air. Hakubi closed his eyes, a smile on his face. "I feel... stronger," he said. Vanishing of an a streak of lines and appearing, as he stood by, on a valley wall.

He looked at the rocky wall, gathering his own natural chakra in his right arm. Raising a fist, he aimed for a spot, then, struck. As the hit connected, Hakubi released the stored concentrated chakra instantly. It was all of a sudden that the valley wall started to collapse, every piece of rock crumbling down to dust as the earth shook...

Hakubi placed his hands together, palms flat against each hand. Yellow chakra began to swirl around him. They've moved to a location far from the Temple of the Slugs in the land, though still staying within the dimension of the Slugs. The elder of slugs was now on his head. "We shall begin training Sage Mode Jutsu," said the Slug Elder, "Are you ready?" she asked. He looked straight ahead, keeping in mind what he had to do. Overwhelmed by the pressure of the preparation on his body, Hakubi did not have the time to loose focus and respond.

"Very well," mused the slug elder. He shifted, keeping his legs apart and slightly bending his legs. His arms were leveled with his shoulder, his hair rising up as chakra pressure built up around him. The wind grew strong, strong enough to push away anybody that was near them. "Now, gather your natural chakra and funnel it to your arms,"

Feeling the weight, Hakubi had difficulty in lifting up his arms. There was an expression of pain in his face now as he continued. He needed to be stronger, to be in control, and as he thought of his goals, it made him want to push himself even further. And, if he would return to Magma after the deadly methods of training he would have to endure, he would proudly call himself one of their best Shinobi.

A massive amount of yellow flaming chakra could be seen dancing, as a fire, in Hakubi's right hand. He carried his arm, raising it slowly as he attempted to punch the ground. It was like his arm would not move any faster at all. "Release it, child!" yelled the elder. When Hakubi had gotten enough of the power from the pull he was making, he would push his fist, planting it downwards to the ground.

His arm went slowly as he tried his best to force it downwards. AS it did, the ground started to crumble and curve inward - his fist still slowly descending at about a ruler and a half away from the surface. The yellow chakra engulfed the whole area as he released it, its destructive force continuously destroying everything around, increasing in radius. Finally, when Hakubi's fist had hit the ground, he expelled a burst of chakra from his hand - the final blow, wiping out everything in an area as big as an entire village. Looking at his surroundings, he raised his body and his hands, tightening his grip.

After a day's training, Hakubi and the elder Slug, along with the Queen Slug Katsuyu, decide to head back to the slug grounds which lay before the Legendary Slug Temple. He stretched his arms for a bit in hopes to take away what pain had come to it. In fact, he could not even draw his normal chakra to heal what muscle strain had taken over, but he did not care. He was almost glad, treading the road with a smile on his face - the slug elder still above his head, a small portion of Katsuyu walking beside him.
"So," mused the elder, his voice soft and slow, much like Katsuyu but only of a deeper tone, "Have you learned anything, child?"
That question Hakubi found a little difficult to answer. He placed his hands at his sides as he walked the path, staring at the blue sky. "Well," insisted Katsuyu.
"I don't know..." he replied with all confidence, smiling and worrying not about a thing. "In all honesty, I don't know,"
"Then you are as wise as I am," suggested the Slug Elder as she rested on his head. Hakubi's eyes rolled upward, attempting to look at the elder, but instead looking at his hair as it was all he could see. "Whatever do you mean, elder?" he asked. Katsuyu, then, looked at him as she crawled her way through - they were merely walking slowly.
"Those who claim they do not know are wisest. That is so as the way of the Slugs go," Katsuyu claimed. "It is because we are the way we are that we have the capability to define nature, and the capability to define what we are able to do," then said the elder. This, however, left Hakubi in a knot, wondering what that could possibly mean.
"Slugs are slow and patient, Hakubi-san, but we have power that no mere creature can posses. That is our ability of control, and with that, we succeed in healing those who are wounded in battle. As you, Hakubi, are blessed with such a talent as I, as we, the slugs," explained the elder, "-and from what I see, you have no such difficulty in relating to us, 'slow creatures. That is where my curiosity arises. Why is that?" she asked.
"Maybe it's because," he said, probably the first sentence to ever make sense since he arrived, "Maybe, I don't want to be in a rush to grow stronger... I might be pushing myself too far, but I am doing it for a reason, and it is for that reason that I do this, why I choose to chase and find strength my own way - the way I know how," he paused for a while, looking down at his feet, "The way I know I can control," he added, smiling.

After arriving from the short journey to the Vapour Village, Hakubi felt a bit more secured about Magma's Status. He had been bathing himself in the Slug Springs - a magical spring flowing with natural chakra. Completely recovered from the last training session. Now, he was ready to train another Jutsu. He stood in a square before the slug temple, the Slug Elder was resting on her head, a small part of Katsuyu's head.

"Are you ready for the next part of your training, Hakubi?" asked the Slug Elder. There was a short pause, the time which Hakubi tried to inhale all of the air he could with his lungs. Then, a short, "Yes," as he nodded. He stood straight at first, bowing down before the slug. He tightened his muscles, holding his breath as he began to gather his chakra while he stood straight. A yellow aura started to come to life around him.

His eyes were shadowed and lined with deep blue ink. Yellow chakra flared all over his body. He closed his eyes, forming the necesary hand seals, then, claiming, "Sage Mode: Elder Slug Fusion Jutsu!" The elder slug then had hopped on to his head, forming a cicular mark at the center of his forhead, in blue ink as well. "This is called the Slug Body Defense. It gives you the flexibility of that of a slug. Be careful," advised the elder, her calm voice making her threat a bit out of place...

"Is there some sort of consequence?" asked Hakubi, in perfect control now of his slug mode. Katsuyu slowly approached them, nodding. "Yes, there is. Exert too much and you turn into a slug, exert too little and your heart stops," said the queen slug. For a moment, Hakubi hesitated, but as he knew himself, there was no way he'd ever exert too little chakra, or too much. To him, chakra control was no more than a snap of the fingers - though, it would help to be sure.

"I'm ready for this," he said, his voice full of determination. The elder merely nodded at his show of guts, though, knowing that his potential to learn knew no such bounds. Hakubi started, drawing forth his chakra. He felt its warmth seep out through the pores of his body. Then, as the chakra seemed to move wildly, as a strong current should, Hakubi released it. There was a light feeling to his body, as if he was rubber.

Still in sage mode, Hakubi found himself getting used to his new flexible body. Though, as he knew it, he was susceptible to fire that way. The slug elder told him so. He stretched his leg, raising it high as his heels went over his head. Then, bending to the side as he cartwheeled over in an almost impossible form.

Getting up, the slug elder who was on his head spoke. "Now, as you may know, all of us here, you included, child, have very low capability to conjur elemental jutsu, and that is why I commend you for being able to produce a clone of electricity. Our ability to utilize the acids formed in we, slugs, bodies, can be used as an offense. Your job is to perform that feat as well," he explained. Hakubi, then, was caught thinking. "Acid? Wouldn't it be harmful to the user as well?" he asked, happy with his new found flexibility as he pulled his leg up from behind to pull off a scorpion.

"With Natural Chakra, it would not be," explained Katsuyu. Hakubi nodded in agreement as he himself had been a witness to the power mere control of chakra can produce. He wasn't the one to object, after all, it was his main strength. "Then, let us proceed," mused the slug elder, then, explaining further the necessary hand seals, "Coat your mouth with enough chakra, then have your chakra coat your respiratory tract, securing so that acid would be pumped from inside to outside," she explained further.

Hakubi tried to do as he was told, forming his chakra and releasing it first from his mouth. It was unpleasant - a rather different Jutsu than what he usually performed. Performing the hand seals, he felt his chakra levels rise, closing his mouth and breathing in almost all the air before him. "Good, now, release!" yelled the elder as she pushed her own chakra into Hakubi.

There was a sour taste in Hakubi's mouth. He could feel the hotness of the liquid acid move through his insides, as if he were to vomit. Then, he spat it out, the acid, with a force that took him back, as he slid backwards, a few feet for the strength of the expulsion of the green corrosive liquid was sort of, ''different''. The acid had reached the end of its travell, and it was gone. Before Hakubi, Katsuyu and the elder, now, lay a smoking hot melted earth...

The acid, as it hit the ground, had began to melt away what earth had been there until a deep smoking grove had been formed. It was long, the range the acidic attack had covered, though, by width, it would only hit about three targets or so. Nevertheless, he was breathing heavily due to the continuous training he was going through. "Moving on," uttered the slug elder, "-Is the Slug Cannon Jutsu - an extra offensive jutsu that you can use,"

Hakubi nodded as he caught up with his breath. "Summon Katsuyu now," mused the slug elder. Once again, a nod, sweat trickling down his cheeks, Hakubi performed the hand seals. He drew blood, biting a pinch of skin from his thumb, then placing his hand above the surface of the ground. Black ink appeared and spread all over a certain raduis, then, thick white smoke puffing out almost instantly.

Katsuyu was revealed, her true giant form, towering above the smaller slugs. Hakubi was beside her. "Now, if you may, please, lift up Katsuyu," ordered the elder. Hakubi looked at the slug queen first, then at the elder, doubting what he had to do. In all honesty, he felt a little awkward about the new jutsu, but seeing as it was the only all-out offensive he would master, he agreed. That is, after Katsuyu Agreed.

With an arm, Hakubi had raised KAtsuyu above ground and over his head. It was actually quite easy for him to do so with normal chakra, but with Natural Chakra flowing through his system - it was as if he was merely lifting a thin sheet of paper. "Very well, Hakubi. This would be the last jutsu for today. Feel what KAtsuyu is feeling and establish a spiritual connection between you and her," said the elder. Hakubi then closed his eyes as Katsuyu prepared herself.

"-then, I'd want you to throw her as hard as you can," said the elder. In such curiosity, Hakubi could not help but to react. Shouting, though not meant to so, he exclaimed, "What?!". The elder had her share of silence, a moment of it. Then, it was Katsuyu who spoke. "I shall be allright. As you may have noticed, I am the most capable slug there is, Hakubi-san. So I want you to trust me the way you trust yourself. Remember, we have to be spiritually connected," she explained.

[6/10]With a nod, Hakubi stiffened his arm, flexing his muscles. Katsuyu, then, had curled herself to a ball. Hakubi counted down, tossing Katsuyu up into the air then, turning around and jumping. With perfect timing , Hakubi had accumulated a lot of his Natural chakra into his feet, and when he was at level with Katsuyu in mid-air, performed a lay-out as he spread his arms wide, thereby kicking the ball as he released his chakra.

It was as if time stopped, and slowly, the slug elder had been detached from Hakubi's head - the connection was lost, and Hakubi's last bit of energy had been released to push Katsuyu - the white cannonball quickly slammed into the opposite wall, the rocky wall of the valley - the strength enough to break the whole valley wall, at least about a portion of it the size of a block in town, down.

The slug queen hit the stone, and on impact had exploded into an unmeasurable amount of tiny little slugs. In a detailed explanation, the slug queen had made her first impact to be damaging, releasing her chakra as she made the hit, then dividing almost instantly from the impact causing a secondary damage, thereby dealing even more damage deadlier than the first for about a thousand slugs hit the surface from the force, releasing chakra wildly to cause a secondary impact.

Hakubi, then, landed on the ground. He rested on one knee at first, feeling the weight on his shoulders. His was, as of now, out of sage mode. "Good job," mused the slug elder as he found her on the ground before him. Katsuyu, on the other hand, had exploded in a cloud of white smoke, disappearing to rest herself. HE, however, alse deserved some rest after today's training.

Resting himself in the slug springs, Hakubi wondered about what has been going on at Magma. After all, he has been away for at most 3 years for training. On his shoulder was Katsuyu - at least a small portion of her was.
