External Investigation
Set in charge of criminal matters both in the many districts of Rukongai as well as those committed on Earth, Division Eight's chief responsibility is to build cases based on out-of-line scenarios, given that Rukongai and Earth's system of collateral justice is less specific on matters of crime, this makes the External Investigation Team's duties very specific and members of this squad are very carefully selected for their ingenuity and adaptation to specific given scenarios. Substitute Shinigami and Vizard fall under Eighth Division's watchful eye as well as Quincy and other humans with powers related to a spirit-like nature. As an un-mentioned duty, Division Eight is also placed in charge of the monitoring and control of these powers and is usually the first to be deployed in an Earth-related incident.
