The Willow Cup tea shop was a place traditionally for old women and their cats. It was full of comfy floral armchairs, played old swing music, and smelled like flowers. Usually the patrons were short, wrinkly, and arthritic, but there was one who was rather different from the norm. Sitting in an armchair, purplish dress draped snugly over her body, Guinevere read her book. Fittingly for a girl once raised by Death, she liked it in the peaceful store surrounded by old people. No one bothered her and they made good scones. Sinking into the soft chair, she turned the pages of Nero's Practical Mythology, taking notes occasionally in a notepad. She was becoming more organized about studying magic, and in place of her old trunk desk she had used as a child, a new and organized space was in her attic bedroom. If she wanted to practice magic safely, she was going to have to be adult about it. It was about time to grow up.

At the quaint little tea shop, Lily had sent Kemuri out for an errand. She wanted a bit of Strawberry green tea as well as some Earl Gray and Fresh Mint tea. He gripped the list in one hand as he approached the door. It was lovely little shop. But it was filled with old ladies. To him, old ladies smelled like a kindergarten room. He took a deep breath of fresh air, change dangling slightly in his pocket, and pushed the door open. His eyes set towards the counter, not wanting to stop and have a 2 hour long conversation with an old lady who thought he was little.
He walked up to the counter, passing by a girl who's hair was tired up and had wings. He could recognize those anywhere. But he said nothing, in case it wasn't who he thought it was. He knew Guin as a young girl, unlike this busty young lady sitting with a magic book. He just stepped closer to the counter and asked for what he was asked to get. "half a bag of Strawberry green, Earl Gray and Fresh mint, please." He said kindly.

A voice intruded upon Guinevere's reading, familiar and comforting to her as snow on a winter's night. The Herald hadn't seen Kemuri since a childhood incident with teacups, which had resulted in Kotatsu deciding that the young lady needed a break from kidnapper pervert friends. She had changed and grown a lot since she had last seen the man who was almost like her older brother, but some things never changed and the Herald's blue eyes crackled with excitement as she leapt up. "Kemuri!" she exclaimed delightedly.
This was a mistake. Old people everywhere glared at the disruptor over their cups of tea, and Guinevere flushed red. Oops. Rallying, she looked back defiantly. She wouldn't be stared down by old people! "Kemuri!" she called in a more reasonable tone, hurrying over to the older Herald, scrambling over her chair. She felt a rush of affection for the man she hadn't seen for ages, she could barely contain a smile that was too big to look right on her usually reserved face. Arms outstretched, she rushed to crush him in a hug. "How are you?" she demanded, looking up at him accusingly. "You never came to see me again, you know."

Hearing his name being called by a feminine voice, he turned his head. It sounded like Guin and belonged to a girl that... sort of looked like Guin. "o-oh. Hello there." He said to her, scared he might call her by the wrong name. "I didn't leave the house much after the amusement park." He hoped that this was Guin and not some impostor that might've been recognized by the wrong name. He lowered the volume of his voice to not disturb the little old ladies and their pastimes.
"I'm doing okay." He said softly; controlling the volume of his voice. "It has been a while, hasn't it." he added as he patted her head with one hand and wrapped his arm around her in the other. "And yourself? Are you, Kotatsu and your cat doing good as well?" He asked. It was a long time since he saw her. She was taller for one and looking like a fine young lady. He smiled to himself as he was reunited with a friend.

Guinevere frowned. Kemuri was acting weird, and it reminded her of how much time had passed since the last time she had seen him. He was supposed to be friendly and cheerful, not all awkward. He wasn't supposed to change, that wasn't fair! Feeling awkward because of it, she pulled away from him, smoothing out her dress. "Oh. Yes, that's a shame." It was her fault, then.
"I'm glad you're doing well. I'm fine, and Kotatsu's a tyrant as usual," This statement was unlikely. Kotatsu couldn't even bully food into tasting good, let alone bully a headstrong and stubborn girl like Guinevere into anything. "Pucci went off and knocked up a ladycat, so we have kittens around the house to get rid of." She grew up, that too. She paused, feeling strangely uncomfortable around a man who was usually like her brother. "...Do you want a kitten?" she asked him. None of them were black, but she had long grown out of wanting a black cat. "I kept one. And one kitten's okay, but five are chaos."

Kemuri laughed as Guin described her life. She really did grow up. He felt as though his childish antics would make her act unladylike. "I'd love to take a kitten and Lily too, but Lily's mom doesn't really like cats." He said. He knew how much Lily wanted a cat. she'd been begging her parents for over a year but it was a big responsibility. "It's good that Pucchi found a girl to keep him company. Even if he did... Hit her up" He said as he chuckled under his breath as he said it. It was amusing to him that she'd say things like that.
"Five does sound like a handful. I may not be able to keep one, but can I come over with Lily sometime to play with them?" He asked. Lily would've loved to play with kittens to death! "It'd be a good excuse for us to meet more often" He said with a smile. He'd like to meet with Guin again. She was fun and has a cat. well, cats now.
