Cry



Weep for the generation who is not,

For the generation that will not be.

Weep for them mothers, sisters, Fathers, brothers

Mourn their loss land and sea.



O that we could only see the blood covers our lands...

Blood from our sin, hidden in the cold darkness.

Forgetfulness will not erase truth,

Nor will it bring back the ones we have sent to death alone.



Though we stop up our ears and turn away our eyes

We still hear their cries and see their pitiful begging.

Though we turn away from them, and harden our heart,

We know they are still there, waiting for us to glance back again.

Waiting for us to remember our honor.



But their blood accuses us of our sin.

Their blood fills our nostrils and covers our hair.

We cannot breath for the thickness of it over the land.

Nor do we admit the honest truth...

They died at our command, our wish to slience their beating hearts.

The guilt lies solely with us. We are guilty of their deaths.



Let the God be merciful upon us, who have shown no mercy.

Let the dead not accuse us too broadly of our crimes

Let us be lulled to sleep by the idea of safety.

And let us mourn for those who are not,

Cry for the generation who is not...

Those who were murdered by our selfishness

Our brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters.

Thank you... Its been trying to write itself for a few weeks now... I think there are a few things that I have to clean up, but it does have good rhythm.

The apple of my parent's eye.
I am the one who never strays
Though she is absent from tribal ways.
But I often wonder who I am
Deep down in the depths of my soul.
Who does sleep within that place?
What's her name?
Where is she from?
Is she even me?

What would happen should I let her wake?
Would I lose all sense of what I am?
Would I slip and lose my way
While trying vainly to abstain
From this creature's lusts and demands?
Who IS she to me?
What is the link we share?
Do I even dare...?

That's incredible!! Your voice is very clear, and you're definitely right, it has a good rhythm. There may be a place or two where you'd want to fix things, but it'd only be for perfection's sake. It's already so close! The second one you posted is also amazing-- are you considering this as a profession?
