Ok, so this is my story Crimson Thorn. It follows three sisters who are also witches, that must fight the evil forces bent on taking over the world. Ontop of their battle with the clan of ravinous vampires, the witches also face the conflicts of love.
So you guys, I'd appreciate reviews, comments, critiques. Anything! So, just lemme know what you think!

Prologue:
We were just normal children living in a normal family and a normal house. It was only me and my two sisters, Arianna and Bridget along with our mother and father. We were just normal, everyday family. Until one night, it all changed forever.
At that time I was only 17, Arianna was 18, and Bridget was 16. We had decided to spend the night at our grandparents house. Our parents were at home, when he attacked. Ciaran, was the leader of a group of vampires who was known for killing other mystical beings. Him and his followers went into the mansion looking for my sisters and me, but found our parents instead. There right on the spot he killed them. They had no idea what was going on.
So when we returned home the next day, we were greeted by police cars and two ambulances. We soon found out the horrible news. Inga, one of our house keepers, had found them in the living room. The policemen questioned us on where we had been when our parents were killed. Once we were cleared, they questioned us about who could of killed our parents and why. We knew no one who would have harmed them, everyone loved them and they got along with everybody they come across. After a couple of months of intense investigations, the case went cold and the killer or killers were never found.
Since Arianna was 18, she got custody of Bridget and me. Since our parents didn’t leave a will, we got the mansion and all of the land that came with it. It was about a month later when some really strange things began to happen. Like me, I accidentally cut, when I put my hand over it, it would heal. Arianna began having premonitions of things that would happen. Which became stronger. Bridget began stopping time and moving things without even touching them. At first we didn’t pay much attention to it, we just thought they were just coincidences. But however, we soon discovered that they weren’t just coincidences.
One day, we looked in the library in the mansion for something that might explain what was going on. Then we found the strangest looking book. It looked like a book from medieval times. On the cover of the book was the words, “The Book of Atrium”. We soon realized that we were full blooded wicken. Which meant that we were witches. This surprised us. We had no idea that our mother was a witch or that our father was a warlock. We never saw anything strange when they were alive.
So we decide to read the book and learned more about our wicken heritage. The book also mentioned other families that had different or the same powers as we did. We knew that we had to find these other people and learn even more from them. So we began our search.
We soon met the Leviette sons who were warlocks. Their names were Xavier, Erik, and Andre. We learned that their parents were also killed by Ciaran when the boys were only toddlers. Ever since then, the boys were raised by foster parents, Alvara and Veli. They agreed to help us. Then things between us and the boys began to form. I began to fall for Xavier, Arianna fell for Erik, and Bridget fell for Andre. Arianna and Erik also got married.
Everything seemed to be falling into place. That is until a secret was revealed about Xavier. The boy’s father was a vampire and their mother was a witch. Only one of the boys received the vampire gene. And that was Xavier. Arianna became furious when she found out. To me, it didn’t matter because I loved Xavier and nothing would change that. Not even my sisters disproval. The boys explained that Xavier was only half vampire. Although Arianna was upset, she allowed Xavier to stay. Though, she didn’t trust him.
We await the day when we are to get our revenge on Ciaran for killing our parents. And when we do, we shall have no mercy.

Chapter 1:
Xavier and Kacey pulled up to the two story mansion on Xavier’s street bike. As she got off the bike, Kacey pulled off her helmet, which had a crescent moon and a star painted on it. Which revealed her chestnut brown hair, which was pulled back into a ponytail. Xavier pulled off his helmet, which had an American flag with an eagle painted on it. Together they walked inside the mansion. “Anna! We’re home.”, Kacey said setting her helmet on the door side table.
“Kacey! Where have you been? You had me worried.”, Arianna said angrily as she walked down the stone staircase. “Me and Xavier just went for a ride.”, Kacey replied. When Arianna reached the ground floor, she told Kacey, “We need to talk. Privately.”. Kacey looked at Xavier. “Can you give us a minute?”, she asks. “Yeah sure. I’ll just go wash up for dinner.”, he replied. “Ok, see you at dinner.”, she told him. Once she knew he was out of earshot Arianna began to speak.
“Kacey, you know I don’t want you going off alone with him, he’s too dangerous.”, Arianna told her. “Arianna, I don’t want to hear it.”, Kacey said as she rolled her eyes and walked away. “Don’t walk away from me, when I’m trying to talk to you.”, Arianna yelled, following her. Kacey turned and looked at her sister. “Anna, you always say that. Xavier has never hurt me and he never will.”, Kacey replied.
“But you don’t know that.”, Arianna replied. Kacey turned to her sister. “Yes, I do.”, Kacey said ending the conversation. This was one of their many fights that they had about Xavier. But unbeknownst to the two sisters, because of his sharp vampire hearing, he heard their whole conversation. He quietly walked up to his room and shut the door. For Xavier, life was fine until the secret about him being a vampire was revealed.
Him and Kacey had come back from a date that night and saw that everyone including his brothers. Somehow, Arianna had looked into his family history and discovered that he was part vampire. That is when Arianna literally flipped out on him. She demanded that he get out of the house immediately. That’s when the fight started. Kacey told Arianna that she would not let Xavier leave the house. She said that even if he was a vampire, she would not let Arianna kick him out of the house. So even though Arianna hated the idea, she allowed Xavier to stay. Although, it made Xavier think. Maybe Arianna was right. Maybe he was dangerous. What if he hurt someone? What if he hurt Kacey?
No one saw Xavier at dinner later that night. Kacey became worried, so she went and checked on him. She knocked on the door. “Who is it?”, Xavier asked. “It’s me.”, Kacey answered. She opened the door and went in. He was sitting on the side of the bed. “Xavier? What’s wrong?”, she asked as she sat down next to him. “I heard what Arianna said.”, he replied.
“Oh….she didn’t mean it.”, Kacey said. “Yes she did.”, Xavier said standing and turning to face her. “What if I am too dangerous to be around you? I might hurt you. I don’t know what I would do if I hurt you. I would never forgive myself.”, Xavier told her. Kacey stood and walked over to him. “Xavier.”, she said as she held his hands in hers. “You would never hurt me. And I know that. I understand that there are risks, but I want to face them with you. And by doing that, it will make our relationship even stronger.”, Kacey told him.
She looked into his eyes. He was scared and she knew that. “All I ask is that you let me help you through this. I will not let you suffer because of your vampire blood. I love you.”, she told him. He was quiet for a moment, but then spoke. “Ok.”, he told. “Thank you.”, she replied. They shared a quick kiss. “Come on lets go eat.”, Kacey said as they walked out of the bedroom.
(Somewhere Underground)
A blonde headed girl with sharp blue eyes walked towards, 2 big stone doors. She wore a strapless, black boostiea, black leather pants which laced up the side, showing skin, and black knee high, leather high heel boots. On her arm was a symbol which was a V inside a circle, which was the mark of the vampires.
She walked through the doors. They led to a chamber. At the end of the chamber was a big stone throne, and upon the throne sat a man who looked old but attractive, he had black hair and piercing blue eyes. The girl stopped in front of the man and bowed. “My lord, Ciaran. I am pleased to inform you that we have found the Thorn sisters.”, the girl said.
“Excellent. Thank you Carmilla. Now you take Ruthven, Alucard, Claudia, Armand, Mekare, and go and bring those witches to me.”, Ciaran ordered. Carmilla nodded and walked out. “Our time to rule, is upon us.”, Ciaran said smiling, his fangs shining.

Chapter 2:
Bridget sat reading a book in the living room when Kacey came in. Suddenly Bridget had a premonition. “Watch out”, she said continuing to look at the book. “For what?”, Kacey asked bracing herself for an attack. “A Frisbee is about to fly in here and hit you in the back of the head.”, Bridget said. Then suddenly, as she had predicted, a Frisbee flew from behind Kacey and hit her in the back of the head.
“Oww!”, Kacey said rubbing the back of her head. She bent down to pick it up. “Who threw a Frisbee in the house!”, she asked angrily. Suddenly, Maria popped her head around the corner. “Sorry Kacey.”, she said walking into the room, followed behind a golden retriever. “I threw the Frisbee to Shadow, but he didn’t catch it.”, Maria said. “Well why don’t ya’ll throw it outside, before you take somebody’s head off.”, Kacey said smiling as she handed the Frisbee to Maria.
“We’re going. Sorry about that.”, Maria said as she walked out of the room. Shadow following close behind. Kacey had met Maria in Highschool and had become really good friends. Just a few minutes later, Arianna came in, holding a newspaper. “I’ve got some bad news. There have been more suspicious killings. Police are calling for a nationwide manhunt for the murderer.”, she said sitting in a chair. “Too bad, they can’t find him. Then we wouldn’t have to worry about hiding from Ciaran.”, Kacey said sitting on the window sill. She just happened to look out in the yard and saw Xavier working on his street bike. Arianna’s voice seemed to fade into silence as Kacey watched Xavier.
He was very handsome. His black raven hair shone in the sun. He had the most beautiful brown eyes. Kacey worried very much about Xavier. He never seemed happy. He never slept, he would sometimes nap during the day, but for only a few minutes. He rarely ever laughed or smiled for that matter, but when he did, it sorta-kinda seemed magical. Kacey sometimes wondered what he was thinking. Xavier stood and turned around and looked up at the house. He wore a black wife-beater and jeans. Kacey loved it when he showed off his muscles. Xavier smiled and waved at her. And Kacey smiled and waved back. Then Xavier turned back around to complete the work on his bike.
“Kacey!”, Arianna yelled. It scared Kacey so much, that she almost fell out of the window. “What?”, Kacey asked when she straightened herself up. And at that point, Kacey realized that Erik and Andre had come in the room. “Have you heard a single word that I have said?”, Arianna asked angrily. “Yes, of course I have. Now, what was it again that you said?”, Kacey asked. “If you would get your head out of the clouds, you would have heard me the first time!”, Arianna exclaimed.
“My head was not in the clouds, thank you. I was just thinking about something.”, Kacey told her. “That is your problem. “You’re more worried about Xavier than you are about those innocent people who are dying because of our enemy.”, Arianna yelled as she jumped to her feet and went face to face with Kacey. “You wanna know who died last night? Kaley’s mom.”, Arianna said angrily. Kacey was stunned. “Now, maybe you’ll get your head out of the clouds.”, Arianna said storming out of the room.
Kacey stormed to her room and slammed the door shut and locked it. Silence came over the house.
( In the study )
“Arianna, you shouldn’t have yelled at Kacey like that.”, Erik said. “Why shouldn’t I. She needs to get her head in the game. What if something happened to her?”, Arianna said as tears poured down her cheeks. Erik walked over to Arianna and wrapped her in his arms. She wept softly as she laid her head on his chest. “What if something happened to me? Who would watch out for Bridget and Kacey? I promised mom and dad that I would watch over them. If something ever happened to them. I would break my promise to my parents.”, Arianna explained.
“Nothing is going to happen to them or you. You’re just gonna have to understand that Kacey isn’t a little girl anymore and she has to make her own decisions. Even if that means defying your wishes.”, Erik told her. Arianna knew he was right. She nodded.
About 20 minutes later, Xavier comes in from the yard. He bumps into Bridget. “Hey Bridget, where’s Kacey? I was going to ask and see if she wanted to go for a ride.”, he asked. “She’s up in her room. Her and Arianna got into a big fight. She won’t come out, I tried to get her to, but she wouldn’t listen.”, Bridget said walking away. Xavier walked upstairs to Kacey’s room. He knocked on the door. “Kacey, it’s me. Can I come in?”, Xavier asked. “No, go away.”, Kacey said sobbing. “Kacey.”, Xavier said. “Xavier please just go away!”, Kacey replied.
Xavier reached for the door knob, but before he could open the door, he heard the lock click. She had locked him out. He heard her sobs. He hated to hear her cry like that. This made him angry. He then went back downstairs to find Arianna. He found her sitting in the family library. Her eyes looked red as if she had been crying but he didn’t care. “What do you want Xavier?”, Arianna asked when she saw him storm into the room.
“What do I want? You know damn well what I want. Why did you yell at Kacey like that? I mean, what in the hell did she do to you?”, Xavier asked angrily. “It’s none of your damn business.”, Arianna replied. “Uh, the hell it is my business. Kacey is up there crying and I can’t do nothing about it. I want to know why!”, Xavier said. “Look a here, you damn bloodsucker, stay out of me and my sisters business.”, Arianna replied storming off. Xavier too, stormed out of the room, angry.

Chapter 3:
Hours later, night fell upon the mansion. Tension was still high. Xavier and Arianna’s moods hadn’t improved any and still, no one heard anything from Kacey because she hadn’t come out of her room. Everyone now sat in the living room. Xavier stayed away from the main group and just sat alone on the window sill. They sat in silence.
“Well this is awkward.”, Taylor said as they sat there. “You know what?”, Maria said standing up. “I am getting sick and tired of sitting here in complete silence. Why can’t we all just get along?”, she said. Then Bridget stood, “She’s right guys.”. Xavier looked at Arianna, then looked away stubbornly. Silence was once again heard.
Suddenly a window near Xavier imploded and glass went everywhere and everyone hit the floor. Suddenly 6 figures climbed through the window and stood in front of Xavier and the others. Arianna looked up and recognized one of the blondes. “Carmilla.”, she said through gritted teeth as she stood, followed by the others. “We have come to take you to Ciaran.”, Carmilla said smiling, her fangs glimmering in the dim light. “You must be stupid to think that we are going with you.”, Andre said. “Well then you will be forced.”, Ruthven said hissing. Suddenly Carmilla and Ruthven leaped at Arianna and Erik. Alucard and Claudia leaped at Bridget and Andre. Mekare started fighting Xavier. Maria, Kaley, and Taylor watched as the fight took place. But no one noticed that Armand was nowhere to be seen. It was like he had disappeared.
Bridget’s eyes turned black as she threw Claudia into the wall with her telekinesis. Erik’s eyes turned black as he turned invisible, “Now you see me, Now you don’t.”, he said as he punched Ruthven in the face. Arianna used her telekinesis to make Carmilla hit herself in the face with her own hand. “Stop hittin’ yourself, Stop hittin’ yourself, Stop hittin’ yourself.”, she said with a grin.
Suddenly, as Xavier tossed Mekare into a glass cabinet, a bloodcurdling scream echoed through the house. Xavier recognized the terrifying the terrified scream. “Kacey!”, he yelled as he raced up the stairs. He banged on the door, but it was locked. He backed away from the door and kicked down the door. When he went in the room, he saw Armand, and he was holding Kacey up in the air, by the throat.
Anger rose in Xavier, his eyes went black and his fangs grew. With super human speed, he jumped on Armand. Xavier threw Armand off of Kacey who then fell to the floor gasping for breath. Armand stood and hissed. He looked at Xavier and saw that he was a vampire. Not knowing what to, he jumped out the window and retreated with the other vampires. Xavier’s eyes turned back to their usual beautiful brown and his fangs disappeared.
He then turned his attention to Kacey who was still on the floor, still trying to catch her breath. “Kacey.”, he said as he helped her sit up. When she lifted her head, anger once again rose. He saw the purplish brown bruises from Armand’s hands an Kacey’s neck. He gently touched her neck. She flinched at his touch. Kacey touched her neck. Her hand began to glow and then the bruises healed. Kacey’s eyes met Xavier’s eyes. He pulled Kacey close to him in an embrace. “You ok?”, he asked. “Yeah. I would have been able to fight him off if he wouldn’t have snuck up on me.”, Kacey replied. “I’m just glad you’re safe.”, he told her as he held her tightly. “Thanks to you.”, Kacey replied and she wrapped her arms around him.
At that moment, Arianna and the others ran into Kacey’s room as Xavier helped Kacey to his feet. Arianna ran to her sister and thrust her arms around her. “Oh Kacey, thank God your ok.”, Arianna said happily. “Arianna! I can’t breathe!”, Kacey said as Arianna squeezed her. Arianna let go. “I’m fine. Xavier saved me.”, Kacey calmly told her sister. Arianna looked at Xavier. “Thank you…for…saving her.”, she said. Xavier nodded.
Then Maria spoke up. “Can somebody please tell us who in the heck that was?”, she asked. “It is about time for us to tell them.”, Bridget said to Arianna. “Very well.”, Arianna replied. “Come on.”, she added as they walked out of the room. Maria, Taylor, and Kaley following close behind. Arianna led them to the library. When Kacey entered the room, her eyes turned black and an old looking book floated from the shelf and landed on a pedestal in the middle of the room. Her eyes then flashed back to their usual hazel.
Arianna held the book so everyone else could see it. “This is the Book of Atrium. It has been handed down through our family for generations. It was passed down to us by our parents.”, Arianna explained. “You know about our powers, but we didn’t tell you everything. The 6 people you saw tonight we’re vampires. The person they mentioned was Ciaran.”, Bridget added. “Well who’s Ciaran?”, Taylor asked. “A very evil and sadistic vampire.”, Andre answered.
Kacey opened the book of Atrium. “The story begins many years ago. There was a conqueror by the name of Vlad the Impaler. He was a cruel leader. And a cannibal. He would eat the flesh and drink the blood of his victims at his victory dinners. The reason he was called the Impaler was because his favorite type of torture was impalement. When he was overthrown and killed, his wife jumped out of a window and killed herself.”, Kacey explained.
Then Bridget spoke, “When he died, Vlad made a deal with the devil, he said he would rise at night and drink the blood of the living. Then he became Dracula. Dracula had a bride named Mina Harker. She became pregnant and then Ciaran was born. When Dracula died and Ciaran became of age, Ciaran took over a leader of the vampires.”, Bridget added.
“Ciaran led his followers all over the world. Not only does he have vampire followers, but he has human followers also. The only reason they serve him is because they are frightened of him or they want immortality. Either way Ciaran wins.”, Erik said. “But why is he after you?”, Maria asked. “Because he has led his followers to believe that witches and warlocks want to destroy them. Ciaran killed our parents when we were kids.”, Xavier replied. “And he killed our parents when we were teenagers.”, Bridget added. “Dang.”, Taylor said.
“We want to let you guys know that if there is another attack on the house, we want you 3 to go upstairs to the attic. It’s a sanctuary against vampires. You got it?”, Arianna asked. The 3 girls nodded.

Chapter 4 :
The next night was quiet, and Ciaran’s goons didn’t come back. Kacey lay in bed looking out at the moon that shone through the glass balcony doors. She had a hard time sleeping that night. She was worrying whether Ciaran’s followers would attack that night. She had tried everything but she couldn’t seem to go to sleep. Suddenly as she lay there, she heard a door open and close. Her eyes flashed black as she walked towards her door. But when she looked out in the hall, she saw Xavier walking down the hallway. Fully dressed in a black wife-beater and jeans. “Where is he going?”, Kacey asked herself as her eyes turned back hazel. She decided to follow him. She stepped out of her room and closed the door quietly behind her. She tried carefully not to let her footsteps be heard.
She followed him down the hall, down the stairs and into the greenhouse. She hid in some bushes beside the door as Xavier sat on the edge of the fountain in the middle of the greenhouse. For a minute, there was silence. Then suddenly a red cardinal flew down from one of the trees, chirping happily. She saw Xavier smile. He held out his finger and the little bird landed on it. He rubbed the little bird’s head with his index finger. “I wish I could always be happy like you.”, he said to the little bird. It chirped.
“You can come out now Kacey, I know your there.”, he said suddenly. “How did you know I was here?”, Kacey asked, stepping out from behind the bushes. “Hello, super-human hearing.”, Xavier replied smartly. “You’re really good with animals.”, Kacey said as she sat down next to him. “Yeah I guess so. But you know I envy him.”, Xavier said as the bird flew back to it’s perch in the tree. “How?”, Kacey asked. “He’s always happy. He doesn’t have to worry about being afraid of his shadow.”, Xavier replied.
“Birds aren’t the only ones who can be free and not afraid of their shadows.”, Kacey told him. “Not when your shadow is always following you. Let’s face it, I’m a monster.”, he said solemnly. “Xavier no.”, Kacey said as she grabbed his hand. “You are not a monster. I can help you, if you would only let me help you.”, Kacey told him pleadingly.
He looked into her eyes. They were full of warmth, hope, and love. She would do anything in the world for him, and him for her. He just didn’t want her to get hurt. Then suddenly a dizzy, sickening feeling came over him. He felt like he was going to throw up. He knew what it meant. He was being overtaken by his darkness. He could feel his thirst for blood growing stronger and stronger.
Kacey also realized what was happening. He was turning. “Oh my God, Xavier you haven’t fed have you? Have you!”, Kacey asked in a scared tone. “Kacey, get out of here now.”, Xavier said in a low whisper. “Xavier no. I want to help you. I won’t leave you.”, she said rebelliously. “Kacey, go now!”, Xavier said again as he began to feel his fangs grow. “No Xavier, I won’t leave you.”, she said again.
“Get Out!”, he screamed as he turned and faced her, his eyes black as night and his sharp fangs gleaming in the moonlight. Fear came over Kacey as she stood and fled. She didn’t stop running until she was in her room with the door closed behind her. She breathed hard as she leaned up against the door. Suddenly, a single tear fell from her eye, then as she slide to the floor, tears began to fall faster. She cried not for her safety, but for Xavier’s.
Back in the greenhouse, Xavier wept also. He had realized what could have happened. He was more afraid for Kacey’s safety now more than ever. He knew he would have to stay away from her for her own sake. It was the only way.

Chapter 5 :
The next day, everything seemed quiet. Kacey had not forgotten about the events of the night before. Xavier screaming at her rang throughout her mind all that morning. Every time she tried to talk to Xavier, he would walk away and hide. Kacey decided that she needed to think. So she went outside to the stables. The mansion also had a stable which held about 6 horses.
She brought out her brown thoroughbred, Garnet, and decided to go for a ride to clear her mind. She mounted Garnet and they rode through the acres of land. But unbeknownst to Kacey, she was being watched. Xavier sat on the roof of the mansion watching her gallop on the grounds on Garnet’s back. Her chestnut brown hair flowing in the wind behind her.
“You seem to find the most peculiar places to sit.”, a voice suddenly said. Xavier turned to see his brother Erik standing behind him. “It seems to be the only place I can be without someone calling a bloodsucker.”, Xavier replied. “Arianna didn’t mean to say that, she was just upset.”, Erik said as he sat next to his brother. Xavier rolled his eye. He continued to watch Kacey. Erik noticed that he was watching her.
“I know about what happened last night.”, Erik said. Xavier looked at his brother. “Damn it Erik, you read my mind again didn’t you?”, Xavier asked angrily. Erik nodded. “I had to, when you and Kacey weren’t speaking, I knew something was wrong. I wanted to know what it was.”, Erik replied. There was silence between them. “You do understand that she just wanted to help you right?”, Erik asked. “Can we not talk about this right now?”, Xavier said coldly. “Uh yes we can. Do you understand?”, Erik replied. Implying Xavier to answer the question. “I know. But I didn’t want her to get hurt. When it overtakes me, I’m powerless. I can’t control myself. And I don’t know what I would do if I ever hurt her. I would never forgive myself.”, Xavier explained.
“I know that and she knows that. She doesn’t care if anything happens to her. She only cares about you. She wants to help you fight this, and you won’t let her. If you don’t let her help, she is gonna do it anyway. She won’t give up on you. And you shouldn’t either.”, Erik said strongly. Then his eyes flashed black and he teleported away.
Xavier was left only with his thoughts and what Erik had said, as he watched Kacey ride Garnet over the rolling hillside.

Chapter 6 :
It had been about 15 minutes or so since Arianna and the others had went to the movies and dinner. Kacey wasn’t expecting them back for at least three hours, because they would most likely be spending a lot of time just hanging out and about. Kacey sighed, she was in her blue jogging pants and red tank top. Her hair was down, hanging around her shoulders.
She went downstairs to the kitchen and she was surprised to see Xavier. His back was turned to her but he knew she was there. “Decided not to go?”, he asked, fixing himself some popcorn. “They wanted to go see a comedy. I’m not into those.”, she replied. “Me neither.”, he said, turning to her, “So would you like to watch a movie here, I could use the company.”, he replied.
Kacey smiled, and she slightly blushed. She had never been alone with Xavier like this, there was always someone around. Always someone in the house. “I’d love too.”. Xavier smiled. They went to the couch. Xavier went up to the DVD player, he hesitantly pressed the button to close the DVD player. Would this really be safe? He hated it, but he felt he was constantly putting Kacey in danger by being around her.
He shook his head, it had better be ok. He sat beside Kacey, who was holding the popcorn. The closeness made Kacey feel a hot heavy blush rush over her. She’d turn to glance at his side portrait. His eyes would look at her every no and again. The awkwardness made Kacey shuffle her bare feet.
Xavier couldn’t stand it anymore, and took the popcorn, sitting it on the floor. He sat there then, just watching her. Kacey felt his eyes burning into her soul. She turned to him. She felt the blush heat even more. Xavier gently pulled her chin and closed into a sweet chaste kiss. Kacey smiled and before she knew it she had started a second kiss. By the time the third kiss came on, she tumbled back onto the couch, Xavier on top of her. The kisses became more passionate, quicker, with panting. Kacey’s arms wrapped around Xavier’s back and her fingers ran through his hair. Xavier hoisted her up, and if on instinct, went to her bedroom.
Kacey fell on top of the bed, she looked up at Xavier, lost in a trance caused by his eyes. “I love you.”, she said. “I love you too.”, he said lowering himself on top of her. She rested her hand on his chest. “I’m scared.”, she whispered. Xavier smiled, “Me too.”. Kacey smiled, straining to reach his lips again.
Throughout what seemed like hours, they kissed. But Xavier felt the need to take it further. He rested his hand on her leg, pulling it up as she wrapped it around him. His other hand entangled in her hair. As he parted to breathe, Kacey led a trail of kisses down his neck, causing his breath to quicken. It was then, Xavier felt the animal within him. He untangled his hand from her hair, and felt his teeth. His fangs were growing. “Kacey, stop.”, he said. She removed her head from his neck and looked up, “Why?”. It was then she saw his fangs and she slipped from under him.
Xavier struggled to hold himself back. He couldn’t let this happen. Not again. But it was useless, his darkness overtook him. He turned to her, growled, and inched closer. His eyes black as night. Kacey tried to back away. To her dismay, it was into a corner. He lunged forward, but came to a sudden halt, resting his hands on the walls. Kacey’s eyes grew big, and it was then that she heard her sister’s voice in her doorway.
“Get away from my sister!”, she said as her eyes went black. With telekinesis, she threw Xavier into a wall, as hard as she could. “Xavier!”, Kacey yelled as she ran to his side. At that moment Erik and the others had come in the room. “Xavier?”, Kacey said as she helped him sit up. When he opened his eyes, Kacey saw that his eyes were back to their beautiful brown and his fangs had disappeared. Xavier looked into Kacey’s frightened eyes. He realized what he had just happened. He realized how close he had come to hurting Kacey.
“I want you out of this house now. You are banned from every returning to this house.”, Arianna said angrily. “Arianna.”, Erik said shocked. Xavier looked at Kacey once more. His eyes turned black. A single tear fell from his eye. “I’m sorry.”, Xavier said. Then in a flash he was gone. “Xavier!”, Kacey said as she jumped to her feet and ran out the door, nearly shoving Arianna to the ground.
Kacey ran downstairs and outside on the steps as she saw Xavier ride away on his street bike. “Xavier!”, Kacey cried as the motorcycle disappeared into the distance and the man she loved on it. Tears poured down Kacey’s cheeks. But then rage overtook her. As she stormed back into the house, her eyes turned black. Arianna and the others were standing at the bottom of the stairs. Kacey lifted Arianna into the air with her telekinesis powers. “This is all your fault! He wouldn’t have left if it wasn’t for you!”, Kacey said in a tearful rage. Arianna struggled, trying to get back on the ground. “Put her down Kacey!”, Bridget yelled. Kacey refused.
Bridget ran over to Kacey and slapped her, which caused her to drop Arianna. Erik caught her as she fell. Kacey slid down against the door, to the floor and cried. “She did it to protect you Kacey.”, Bridget said as she went and stood next to Andre. “Kacey, I had to do it, he was about to kill you.”, Arianna said as she walked over to Kacey. She tried to put her hand on Kacey’s shoulder, but Kacey shrugged it off. “It’s for his own good…”, Arianna said as Kacey interrupted her. “His own good? Or yours. You hated Xavier ever since you found out he was a vampire. And you hate me for loving him.”, Kacey said as she stormed to the top of the staircase. “I promised mom that I would protect you no matter what!”, Arianna said at the bottom of the stairs.
“Mom this, Mom that. You know what, YOU’RE NOT MOM. So stop trying to be like her. You can never replace her. So stop trying.”, Kacey said as she stormed away. Then everyone heard her door slam. Tears fell from Arianna’s eyes. Kacey’s words stung her. They hurt. Erik tried to put his arms around her to comfort her, put she shrugged him off and she walked alone to the library. Everyone just left out of the room leaving Arianna alone with her thoughts.

Chapter 7 :
Xavier had driven as far as the park. He got off his street bike and tore off his helmet, and threw it on the ground with incredible force. He then turned around and kicked the stone bench four times. He then flopped down on the bench and covered his face with his hands. Warm tears fell from his eyes down his cold cheeks. He had been so close to hurting Kacey, maybe even killing her. He now knew that he could never return to the mansion. If he ever returned to the mansion, he would be putting not only the others in danger, but Kacey most of all. He knew he would never be able to see her again.
Just then he heard a voice. “Help! Please someone! Help me!”. Xavier got his feet and followed the voice. Whoever it was, needed help. Xavier followed the voice. He followed the voice to a clearing in some bushes, where he discovered a guy cowering on the ground. “Help me please, someone is after me. Help me please.”, the man said. “Hold on, who’s after you?”, Xavier asked. “They’re after me.”, the man said again. “Who is after you?’, Xavier asked again.
Suddenly from behind, someone hit Xavier in the back of the head, which caused him to fall to the ground unconscious. The man on the ground got to his feet and walked over to Armand, who had hit Xavier. “Good job Alex. You are a very good actor.”, Armand said smiling, his fangs shining in the moonlight. “I try. But anyway, Ciaran will be proud of us, now that we have captured him.”, Alex replied. “Let’s get him back to Ciaran, before he wakes up. Alex nodded. Together they picked up the unconscious Xavier and carried him away.

Chapter 8 :
Back at the mansion, Kacey sat in her room. Xavier had been gone for 3 days and had not contacted her or his brothers. She was worried about him terribly. Her and Arianna had not spoken to one another. Suddenly there came a knock at the door. Kacey’s eyes turned black, “Who is it?”, she asked. “It’s me, Maria, can I come in?”, Maria asked. “Yeah.”, Kacey said. Then Maria opened the door, as Kacey’s eyes turned back hazel. “You ok?”, Maria asked as she sat next to Kacey. “No, I’m worried Maria. It’s been 3 days and Xavier hasn’t called. I have no idea where he is. I miss him so much.”, Kacey said as she wiped a tear from her eye. Maria looked down at the floor and then she thought of something.
“Why don’t you go look for him?”, Maria asked. “Are you crazy? Arianna would crap a brick if I went looking for him.”, Kacey replied. “Look Kacey, if you decide to go look for him, I support you 110%. And I’ll cover for you if Arianna comes looking for you.”, Maria said. Kacey smiled and hugged Maria. “Thanks, you’re a good friend. What would I have ever done without you.”, Kacey asked. “You probably would’ve failed Mr. Ford’s Algebra 1 class. Now go before Arianna gets back.”, Maria replied. Kacey nodded and climbed out the window
Kacey got in her blue Mustang GT and drove to the park. That would be the first place she would look because sometimes she and Xavier would go there to spend some time together. When she got to the park, the sun was setting. She got out of the car and began looking around. Soon she came to a bench and parked beside it was Xavier’s street bike, and laying on the ground was his helmet. She put her hand on the street bike’s engine. It was cold. It had to have been here for a while, so Xavier still had to be here.
She saw some footprints that led away from the bike, so she followed them. They led her to a clearing where she saw more footprints. There were now 2 other sets of footprints. But Xavier’s footprints disappeared and turned into drag marks. She now realized that something had happened to Xavier. She knew she needed to call Arianna and let her know what happened, but she knew that Arianna wouldn’t understand. So she followed the drag marks. After a couple of minutes, she came to a huge storm drain that stuck up out of the ground and it was tall enough for a regular sized person to walk through it. She went inside.
It seemed like hours had passed as she wandered through the storm drain. Her boots hitting water that had settled in the bottom of the drain, echoed. Then suddenly she heard voices and stopped. She recognized the voices as vampires. As she neared the end of the drain, the voices got louder. She followed the voices until she came to a hole. She knelt down and peered through the hole.
She could see inside a room that looked almost like a sitting room from a mansion. There was blood red furniture that filled the room and a fireplace with a roaring fire. Kacey easily recognized the six vampires that sat in the room. It was Carmilla, Ruthven, Alucard, Claudia, Armand, and Mekare. She quietly listened to their conversation.
“Why hasn’t Ciaran made his decision yet, I’m getting so tired of waiting.”, Claudia said impatiently. “What decision?”, Armand asked. “When he’s gonna attack the Thorn sisters. I mean we have one of their own.”, Claudia said. “Xavier.”, Kacey said in a whisper. “We can easily kill them off now.”, Claudia said. “I’m with Claudia.”, Ruthven said. “I say we go kill them now while their guard is down.”, Ruthven added. “Are you crazy, Ciaran wouldn’t allow it. He would literally kill us if we disobeyed him. He told us to stay put.”, Carmilla replied. The other vampires became silent.
Kacey got to her feet but before she turn around someone grabbed her from behind and shoved her into the wall. It was Alex. “Well, well, well, what do we have here? A little spy. Lets see what Ciaran had to say about this.”, Alex said snatching Kacey along with him. She tried to pull from his grip but he was way too strong.
He led her to Ciaran’s throne room. And there sitting on his throne was Ciaran, Leader of the Vampires.

Chapter 9 :
“Well, well, well. Kacey Thorn. My how you’ve grown since the last time.”, Ciaran said with a sly grin. “Well Ciaran, look at you. I see age had been good to you except for all the wrinkles on your face.”, Kacey said smartly. “Hah so you want to be funny. I wouldn’t act like that if I was you. Especially in your situation.”, Ciaran replied to her smart comment.
“And what is that supposed to mean Pasty face.”, Kacey asked smartly. “You’ll see.”, he replied with an evil grin. Ciaran snapped his fingers. And then, Xavier walked out of the darkness. “Xavier?”, Kacey asked shockingly. Xavier didn’t speak, he walked over and stood next to Ciaran’s throne. “Xavier say something. What are you doing here?”, Kacey asked. Still, he said not a word. “What have you done to him.”, Kacey asked angrily. Ciaran just smiled. “Why my dear, I have merely showed him how good it feels to be evil. All I did was use a little of my power and that was it.”, Ciaran replied.
“Xavier please, don’t you remember? It’s me Kacey.”, Kacey pleaded. Xavier seemed unmoved by her pleas. “Xavier please try to remember! It’s me Kacey!”, Kacey pleaded again. “I know no one by that name.”, he replied coldly. Tears fell from her eyes. She had tried so hard to save him from his darkness. But she hadn’t been strong enough. Ciaran just laughed. “This is just so hilarious. But anyway, back to business.”, Ciaran said straining up and stepping off his throne.
“You and your sisters have been a thorn in my side for a very long time. So first I’m going to kill you and then I’m gonna go and kill your sisters.”, Ciaran said walking up to the restrained Kacey. A knife appeared in his hand. Now he was right up in front of Kacey. “Say goodbye witch.”, Ciaran said. But as he was about to stab her, somebody grabbed his hand and threw him into the wall not far away.
Kacey opened her eyes to see Xavier throw the guy that restrained her across the room. “Xavier!”, Kacey said as she wrapped her arms around him. He also did the same. She looked up at him. “I thought he brainwashed you.”, Kacey said. “He did at first, but my human half took over and I came out of it two days ago. I was pretending to still be brainwashed so I could find out what Ciaran’s plan was. Then when I saw Alex drag you in here, I knew I had to do something. I couldn’t let Ciaran kill you. I would never forgive myself.”, Xavier explained.
Kacey just smiled. Xavier too smiled. They were about to share a kiss when suddenly Ciaran got to his feet. “You are going to pay for that.”, Ciaran said angrily. He made a motion with his hand, and Carmilla, Ruthven, Alucard, Claudia, Armand, and Mekare, stepped out of the darkness. “I think we need to get out of here.”, Kacey said. Xavier once again wrapped his arms around Kacey. His eyes turned black
As they teleported away, Xavier felt a cold sharp pain in the back of his shoulder and a cold icy feeling consumed him. He turned just in time to punch Alex in the mouth before him and Kacey teleported away.
Kacey and Xavier teleported into the living room of the mansion. The others jumped up when they saw them. “Kacey I ought to kill you for going off by yourself like that.”, Arianna said as she hugged her sister. “I had to find Xavier.”, Kacey replied. “Ahh!”, Xavier screamed as he fell to his hands and knees. “Xavier!”, Kacey yelled as she ran to Xavier’s side.

Chapter 10 :
“He’s hurt!”, Erik yelled as he helped Kacey get Xavier to lay down on the couch. Kacey put her hand on his forehead. “He’s burning up.”, Kacey said.
She looked to Maria, “Bring me a cloth and a bowl of water, now.”, Kacey said. Erik looked at Xavier. “Where are you hurt?”, he asked. “It’s my shoulder.”, Xavier said in an exasperated breath. Erik looked at the back of Xavier’s shoulder, to see a blood red burn on Xavier’s skin. He knew instantly what it was. “Damn it.”, Erik said angrily. “What is it?”, Kacey asked. “He’s been injected with holy water.”, Erik said. “What?”, Kacey asked.
“I said he’s been injected with holy water.”, Erik replied. He was silent for a moment, rubbing the back of his neck. “He’s going to die.”, Erik said in a whisper. Kacey’s face went blank. “No, no he can’t die. There has to be something we can do.”, Kacey said holding back tears.”, Kacey said. “I won’t let it happen.”, Kacey said. She put her hand over Xavier’s wound and her hand began to glow. When her hand stopped glowing, she moved her hand, looking to see the wound gone. But it wasn’t. It was still there. Kacey just looked down. “There is nothing we can do. Holy water is running through his veins. He only has a few minutes.”, Erik replied. Kacey turned back to Xavier. She could tell he was dying. His breaths slowed and came in gasps. He was sweating from the fever he was running. Kacey grabbed his hand and held it as tears filled her eyes.
“Kacey, I’m sorry.”, Xavier told her. “What are you talking about? You don’t have anything to be sorry for.”, Kacey replied as she caressed his cheek. “Yeah I do.”, he replied. He closed his eyes for a minute and took in a breath as if his body had been racked by a sharp pain. “Xavier.”, Kacey said worriedly.
“Kacey, I’m sorry that I never married you. I’m sorry that we never had kids. And I’m sorry that we won’t be able to spend the rest of our lives together.”, Xavier told her. His breaths coming slower and weaker. Tears began to fall from her eyes. Xavier reached up and wiped her tears away. “Kacey, I love you so much. Mere words cannot explain my love. But I want you to know that no matter what happens, you will always have me in your heart, and you in mine.”, he told her. “I love you too.”, Kacey replied. He gave her a weak smile.
Xavier struggled to sit up as Kacey leaned down. Their lips met in a kiss. But as Kacey gently pulled away, she saw Xavier’s beautiful brown eyes disappeared forever, and he fell back against the arm of the coach. He was gone. Tears fell rapidly from her eyes. “Xavier? Xavier no. Xavier please come back!”, Kacey cried as she squeezed his lifeless hand and laid her head on his chest. Hoping to hear a heartbeat that never came.
Arianna buried her face into Erik’s arm, who was also crying over his dead brother. Andre cried also for his dead brother. Bridget comforted him. Maria, Taylor, and Kaley too cried for their fallen comrade. Kacey kissed Xavier’s hand. “I love you and I always will.”, Kacey said in a whisper.

Chapter 11 :
It was a cloudy and rainy day. Everyone was there. They were all standing around a black casket and etched into the surface of the casket was “Xavier”. The rain poured down as the preacher spoke. Arianna stood next to Erik and next to them was Bridget and Andre. Taylor, Kaley, and Maria stood next to them. And standing alone was Kacey. Tears fell slowly down Kacey’s cheeks. Just a few days ago, she and Xavier had went for a ride on his bike and had a good time. And now, he was gone. The world seemed a lot less bright, dark even.
Once the preacher was done, the casket was lowered into the ground and covered with layers of dirt. Before they all left the gravesite, Kacey laid a white rose on Xavier’s headstone. They all walked to their cars and drove home. When she got home Kacey went straight to her room. She didn’t come down for dinner that night either. Arianna went up to Kacey’s room to try and get her to come down. Arianna began to worry about her, she had been this way ever since Xavier’s death. She had barely eaten anything. When she would come down for dinner, she would a little bit. Then she would look at Xavier’s empty chair then run upstairs and cry. When Kacey refused to come down, Arianna just left her alone and walked down stairs.
That night as Kacey slept she began to dream. She stood in a grove of trees with mist floating just a few inches off the ground. As she stood there looking around, a figure appeared out of the mist. Her breath escaped her when she saw the face of the figure. “Xavier!“, she screamed. “You couldn’t save me. You let me die.“, he said harshly. “No, I tried to save you, I really did.“, Kacey replied. “You couldn’t save me. You just sat back and let me die!“, Xavier screamed. Kacey awoke with a start. She looked around and saw that she was no longer in a grove of trees, but she was in the safety of her room. She looked to the glass veranda doors which were opened slightly to allow the breeze to enter the room. She got to her feet and put on her robe. That dream had haunted her since Xavier died. She walked out of her room, and down to the greenhouse. She walked through the glass doors, half expecting to see Xavier sitting on the edge of the fountain as if nothing had happened. But the seat was empty. She went and sat in the spot that she had sat on that night. She remembered how he had held out his finger and the little red cardinal landed on it. But she heard no happy chirping. It was all silence. The mansion seemed to be like this ever since he died. Just the day before, she went down to the garage, half expecting to see Xavier working on his bike. But he wasn’t there.
“Kacey?”, a voice said as Kacey looked up. It was Arianna. “Kacey what are you doing down here at 2:30 in the morning? Are you ok?”, Arianna asked as she sat next to her sister. “This was his favorite place you know. I followed him down here one night after Ciaran’s followers attacked. He sat here and let a bird land on his finger. I told him that he was very good with animals. He said yeah and that he envied the bird. When I asked him why, he told me that the bird was always happy and it didn’t have to worry about being afraid of his own shadow. I told him that birds weren’t the only ones who could be free and not afraid of their shadows. Then he said not when their own shadow was always following them. Then he said for me to face it, that he was a monster.”
Arianna continued to listen to her sister. “I told him that he was not a monster. And that I would help him if only he would let me. Then he looked me in the eyes. He was so scared. He had that look in his eyes many times and I tried to help him.”, Kacey explained. Tears began to fall down her cheeks again. “Kacey.”, Arianna said as she embraced her sister. Kacey continued to cry. “This is all my fault. Xavier is dead because of me.”, Kacey said. “Kacey, don’t say that! It is not your fault.”, Arianna said. “Yes it is. If I hadn’t of went looking for him, he wouldn’t have tried to save me. And he wouldn’t have died. It’s my fault. All of it.”, Kacey replied. “Kacey, it is not your fault. Things happen for a reason. Good or bad. It was just his time to go.”, Arianna replied. Kacey then looked at her sister in anger. “How could you say that. It was not his time to go. He should have lived. And I should have died.”, Kacey said. “No.”, Arianna said looking at the crying Kacey.
“Look. It was true that I didn’t trust Xavier. I didn’t know if he was on our side or Ciaran’s. I didn’t know if he would hurt you when he went under. And I was afraid that I would loose you by his hand. But when you two teleported into the living room that night and I heard that he had saved you, that changed everything. When I heard him tell you how much you meant to him, it all changed. I knew that he had always been good, but since in my eyes I always saw his vampire side, I never gave him a chance. And I have regretted that everyday since he died. And I hope you forgive me for all the bad things I have ever said about him. And I will not let you sit here and blame yourself for his death. Especially when he risked his life for you because to me that shows the purest love in the world.”, Arianna said.
“Thanks Arianna. You’re a good sister and friend. But most of all, you are a great mother. And I’m sorry for what I said the other day.”, Kacey replied. “Apology excepted. Now lets go to bed.”, Arianna said as her and Kacey got to their feet and walked out of the greenhouse and down the hall. As Kacey lay in bed for the rest of the night, the dreams of Xavier that had haunted had seemed to disappear. But still, she felt as though Xavier watched over her as she slept.

Chapter 12 :
About 2 days passed but the group was still a little out of it. The house still didn’t seem the same. Although she tried, Kacey still couldn’t seem to hide her feelings of loneliness and guilt. Arianna tried to help, but Kacey withdrew herself from everyone and spent time alone. Sometimes she would still go down to the greenhouse and sit. It felt like his presence was still there. However she could not bring herself to visit his grave. It was too painful. Sometimes it would seem as though she heard him calling her name in her sleep. But when she would wake there was nothing there.
Kacey went down to the garage wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, and her black boots. She walked over to the corner of the garage where something sat with a tarp covering it. She pulled the tarp off, revealing Xavier’s street bike. She pushed it to the door of the garage and opened the garage door. She put on her helmet with the crescent moon and the star painted on it. She sat on the bike and speed down the driveway. She rode to the park.
The park had been the place where her and Xavier had shared their first kiss. They had driven there after one of their dates. It had been before everyone found out that he was a vampire. It was a clear night and it was a full moon. He had spread a blanket out on the ground and they sat down. As they sat there, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and they laid down and looked up at the sparkling stars. Suddenly a shooting star raced across the night sky. “You better make a wish, you wouldn’t want to waste a shooting star would you?”, Xavier said smiling. “Ok. Um. I wish that one day, I will have a family. Maybe 2 kids. And of course a good looking husband.”, Kacey replied. “What’s you’re husband gonna look like.”, Xavier asked.
“I don’t know.”, Kacey said sitting up. Xavier also sat up. “Maybe he’ll be tall, dark, and handsome. Maybe a little mysterious.”, Kacey added, smiling. “Uh well that kind of reminds me of somebody.”, Xavier replied. “Who?”, Kacey asked slyly. “Me.”, Xavier replied. “Maybe. You never know.”, Kacey replied with a smile. And that’s when it happened. There first kiss. That had been the happiest moment in Kacey’s life. She had found someone who could relate to her. Both of them had lost their parents at a young age and they both had powers. She not only felt safe around him but she felt normal. She felt like she could do anything as long as he was around. She no longer felt that way. He was her heart, her soul, her breath, her shooting star. And now her shooting star was gone, and there was nothing she could do about it.
Kacey returned home and Erik was waiting for her. “Hey Kace. You ok?”, he asked. “Yeah I’m fine, I just went for ride. When I ride it, it feels like I still have a part of him with me.”, Kacey replied. “I understand. I uh thought I should show you something.”, Erik said. “What is it?”, Kacey asked. “Come on and I’ll show you.”, Erik said reaching his hand out. Kacey took her brother-in-law’s hand and with that they teleported. When Kacey opened her eyes she saw that she and Erik now stood on the roof. “What’s up here that you wanted to show me?”, Kacey asked curiously. “I found this is Xavier’s room on his dresser.”, he said pulled out a small gold key from his pocket. “It must go to something and this was always the place he went when he needed to think. I saw him up here a lot. So maybe whatever this key goes to is up here. And I thought that only you should open it.”, Erik replied handing the key to Kacey. Kacey looked around to see if she could find a compartment somewhere. Then when she and Erik couldn’t find anything, she came up with another solution. Maybe the compartment was clocked by magic. Saying the right spell would be unlikely.
What could possibly be the spell? Just then Kacey remembered something. She reached inside her shirt and pulled out the locket that Xavier had given her for her birthday. Inside was a picture of the two of them. However, engraved on the lid was what Kacey thought was a poem. Maybe this was the spell she thought. Then she read it aloud, “With this key, you unlock my heart, and whenever you need guidance, it will lead you to what you want to find.”.
And with that, a small keyhole appeared in the wall. Kacey put the key in the hole and turned it. A small door opened up and inside was a box. Kacey pulled out the box and opened it. Inside was an envelope and a picture of her and Xavier. She opened the envelope and pulled out a piece of paper and saw that it was a letter from Xavier. She then began to read it. Erik reading it over her shoulder and it said:
My Dearest Kacey,
By the time you read this I might already be gone. For the past 2 months or so I have felt as though something was going to happen to me. I can’t quit explain it but I have the feeling that I won’t be alive much longer. I wanted to tell you but I didn’t want to worry you. It was better just keeping it to myself. At first I was scared. But I’m not anymore. I have learned to except it.
I am so sorry I did not tell you. I wanted to, but I knew that I couldn’t. You had suffered so much through your life and I didn’t want to make it any worse. You are the most beautiful girl that I have ever met. Inside and out. And I don’t want you to dwell on me. I want you to go on without me. Please don’t blame yourself for something that was meant to happen.
But I do want to give you something. Look in the bottom of the box. You’ll see another box. Open it. I want you to wear it always. I was hoping that I would have been able to ask you before all of this happened. But I never had the chase to. Wear it and you will always have a part of me close to always.

Kacey looked in the bottom of the box and saw a small velvet box. When she opened it and her breath escaped her. In the tiny box sat a diamond ring. As she held the ring up, she realized that there was something engraved on the inside the band. It read : Whatever it takes, I will always love you. Kacey placed the ring on her left ring finger. “Thank you Erik, for showing me this. I needed to see it and Xavier knew I needed to see it also.”, Kacey said as she gave her brother-in-law a friendly hug. “Your welcome.”, Erik replied. “The thing is he could’ve told me and I could have helped him through it.”, Kacey said.
“Well like it said in the letter. He didn’t tell you because he didn’t want to cause you anymore pain.”, Erik replied. “You’re right.”, Kacey replied. “Come on.”, Erik said as he held out his hand. Kacey took it and they teleported away. Kacey now understood and was racked with guilt no more. As she lay in bed that night, she dreamed of Xavier. But instead of them being nightmares, they were happy dreams. Memories of their time together came back to her, giving her a new feel of security.
