Personality: Because of the fact that WALL•E has been left alone for over 700 years, the trash compacting robot has developed the “glitch” of a personality. He’s an extremely curious individual who loves to explore and collect things that fascinate him. Although he still remains rather obedient to his original programming – ie. he still compacts trash – he can get easily distracted, especially when there’s a shiny red light or a girl robot on the horizon. WALL•E begins to think and wonder: what if there is other life? Can he find love, like he’s witnessed on an old tape of Hello Dolly!? The ultimate signal of love, for innocent and naïve little WALL•E, is a simple gesture of the holding of hands, which he desires above all else. WALL•E is determined, friendly, fiercely protective, and generally a very excitable robot.
Appearance: Due to years of neglect and damage, WALL•E has suffered the worst a robot can go through; he’s rusted, dented, banged up, full of mud, full of grime, and lacking most of his original pieces anymore. His paint was once yellow, but is now twelve brilliant shades between that and a dark brown.
Despite of, or perhaps in support of, his overworked and rather pathetic demeanour, WALL•E is fashioned quite small, low to the ground, and can compact himself into a neat little box to act even himself as storage. He is equipped with a large set of camera lens eyes that resemble binoculars, between which is hidden a little red laser. He has dual hydraulic arms that double as shovels, mighty treads that can work both beneath his body and beside of it, and a midsection that opens up and is able to compact trash (as that is his main function, after all). He is also fashioned with a recording device, though what its original purpose was, one can only speculate; now, WALL•E uses it as his built in iPod. WALL•E functions on solar power.
