Jasper is both abrasive and sarcastic, but unlike Grace, he hasn't exiled himself from the world. While he is quick to pick at others flaws with his biting wit and often finds it a difficult task to connect with anyone on an emotional level, it is in his ability to befriend those around him and he does genuinely enjoy human company -- in fact, his only problem is that human company doesn't tend to enjoy him. Most women hasten to describe him as a regular 'jerk' (and occasionally the more colourful 'a*****e'), while the majority of men consider him a threat to their masculinity. A regular harlequin at heart, Jasper entertains himself by dabbling in tricks and pranks of an impulsive persuasion that often leave his friends and acquaintances unamused -- impressed, but unamused. Fiercely well versed in sleight of hand, simple illusion and observation of human expression, Jasper is able to both recognize a person's true intentions by analyzing their body language and perform highly skilled and masterful pranks, tricks and illusions. Calculating, sly, charming, charismatic and devious, Jasper derives pleasure in human nature at its most basic form -- a look of shock or a downcast glance of humiliation as a result of his whims.

Grace is an abrasive, sarcastic and bitter woman who occupies a general dislike and distrust for everything and everyone. She has self-exiled herself from the world as a result of this aforementioned ideology, and often carries herself in a misanthropic manner. Quick to pick at others flaws, Grace derives pleasure in belittling those around her with biting wit and rarely connects with anyone on an emotional level, a trait stemming from her troubled childhood. She is a woman by the philosophy "everyone lies", and while she can hold a normal relationship with the odd individual, it is more often than not few and far between. She willingly forgoes the niceties of common courtesy, and is a strong nonconformist with little to no regard as to how others perceive her. She holds a strong contempt for authority figures and refuses to obey the usual pieties of modern life, a trait often put down to a narcissistic superiority complex. Grace, while hardly maternal, has grown to love Jasper and Lucien and cares for them both in her own, unorthodox, "tough love" manner.
