It was dark. Then again, that was to be expected; it was only three hours past midnight. The wind was blowing in hard, flowing gusts; a residual effect of a recent storm.
"Do you think she got the letter, dear brother?" the orange-haired girl murmured, perching on a rock as she toyed with a lock of her hair. The pair was stationed near one of the caves, right inside the entrance. And they were waiting for someone.
"Of course she did, sister." the boy said, smiling lightly. "Have faith in Jaella once in a while, won't you?" He leaned against the cave wall, glancing out at the field. He may not have let it show, but he was worried too; the female seemed to be awfully late...

Thali had a difficult time finding the cave. The wind blew her off course which didn't help, because she seemed to be having trouble following the directions on the letter she'd recieved from a strange woman the day before.
She frowned, before stepping into one of the caves. She needed to rest.. She leaned against one of the rocks just inside the cave when she noticed the twins.
"Are you the ones I'm supposed to meet?" She asked.

"We are." Darcy said, hopping off her perch gracefully. The pair couldn't have been any older than thirteen, maybe fourteen. "Mrs. Sadril, I take it?" she said, her tone formal as she held her hand out. "Darcy Azoulai. An honor to meet you." She then did something rather odd. She bent down, smiling lightly. "It's nice to meet the both of you, as well. You're developing nicely. Just as expected."
Aaron stood off to the side, chuckling. Poor woman....Darcy was probably confusing the hell out of her.

Thali blinked, showing her surprise. She hadn't expected to meet with children-- maybe these were the children of the person she was actually meeting here. "Yes, I'm Thali and... What are you doing?" She asked, with a tilt of her head.
How could this girl know that she was having twins? And why was she talking to them? What did she mean 'just as expected'?

"Checking on them. It's good to keep track of one's projects, after all." Darcy said without even a hesitation. Yes, she was indeed the Queen of Tact, as anyone could plainly see.
"I....apologize for my sister." Aaron said, stepping up. "You see...ah, this is hard to explain delicately..." He didn't want to freak the poor woman out; she already seemed to be on that road.
"They've been blessed, as some would say." Darcy said, smiling lightly. She didn't further explain; it was as if she expected Thali to know this already. And, in her mind, she should. It was obvious, wasn't it?
Aaron sighed, shaking his head. "Sister, I doubt she knows what you mean by that." he said, chuckling, amusement tainting his somber tone.

Thali frowned slightly. Projects? What did the girl mean by that? What was hard to explain? How were they 'blessed'? Why? She leaned against the rock again, in confusion.
"Just... Explain." She said shortly. She was glad Ben had opted not to come. He wouldn't have been happy with either of these children. "What do you mean by blessed?" She asked.

"Go ahead and sit on it. It's quite comfortable once you get used to it." Darcy said, offering a smile to the woman as she leaned against her rock. "Well, you see...well, I think you don't need to know all the specifics. But, you were randomly chosen to be blessed." she said, trying to think of how to word it. "You're children have been touched by the magic we use to knit life." Of course, she expected Thali to know ALL about that. "You and another woman are our test runs. To see how the magic affects preexisting, but still developing, life."
"It's a blessing, as it sounds." Aaron said, trying to cover for his sister's callousness. "The babies should live normal, healthy lives. Well, we aren't sure how their growing patterns will be, but I'm sure they'll be fine." Hey, he was doing his best to reassure the expectant mother.

This was making no sense. Randomly chosen, she could understand that, she could even accept it. She narrowed her eyes at the term 'test run'. She didn't know how she'd be able to explain this to her husband.
"I fail to see how they're blessed." She said, looking from Darcy to Aaron, her eyebrows furrowed. Clearly, Aarons attempts to reassure her weren't working.

Aaron smiled, albeit a bit nervously. "Well, we have one other child that has been touched by the same magic. Besides the fact that she was created by it, there isn't much of a difference. Well, we've noted in her a stronger immune system, better healing rate, and..." He shifted a bit; he wasn't sure if the woman might have a problem with magical children or not.
"The first child showed signs of a supernatural power, so their's a good chance the girls will be gifted as well." Darcy said, as tactful as ever.

That caught Thali's interest. She'd always been fascinated by magic, she had even gone so far as to start learning it. "So they have potentional magic?" She asked, with a tilt of her head. She was no longer frowning, but she wasn't smiling either. She looked thoughtful.
She wondered how Ben would react when he heard that they were having magical children. Though, the couple would be able to adjust. After all, they had another child that showed signs of magical talent.

"That's right." Aaron said, nodding. He made sure Darcy didn't get a chance to ruin his good reasoning. "They both should. Atleast, in theory, they should. We won't know until to....when they're born." He caught himself as he almost said a Darcy-like thing. "I'm sure that their magic will be spectacular." he said, nodding and offering a smile.

Thali offered Aaron a small smile. "Wait.. to what?" She asked with a frown. She'd been quick to pick up on his hesitation. She guessed what he said wasn't what was meant.
She was interested to learn that they would have magic-- perhaps as good (or better) than her son's.

"He meant tomorrow. Around eight o'clock." Darcy said, shrugging as if it were nothing. The dates of when her 'project' would be born came as easy to her as breathing. "I'd start preparing your bag first thing in the morning so there's no rush, if I were you, Mrs. Sadril."

Thali's eyes widened. "Tomorrow?" She repeated. Tomorrow? They had to prepare! Ben would panic! Instead of looking upset, like she knew her husband would be when she got home, she looked nervous.
"How will you find out tomorrow?" She asked.

Darcy rolled her eyes. "Because, silly, they'll be born!" she said, as if it were supposed to be obvious. "They may be a bit early, but they're ready for the world." She nodded once, the offered a smile as she patted the adults hand. "Don't worry; everything will be fine." she said softly. She seemed so sure of that...it was hard not to believe her.
