How to Draw Wings (by Loving Wolf Howl)
note: this is different from how others draw wings......duh, so if it does look like who ur friend(s) drawing of a wing now this
Inner veiw of the wing
steps r highlighted in red
step 1
-just start out with a basic angle of some sort
step 2
-these are guild lines for the fluff
-the longer one should over lap the short one
-the smaller one should only be half of that segment while the longer one is the full length
step 3
-now the feathers
-the feathers on the smaller fluff is big n long n there is only one set of feathers, they also spread out as they extend out word
-the feathers on the longer fluff is small n short, there is also two sets of feather, the first set actually touching the fluff is on top of the second set
-Note: how the first feather on the left over lays the next n this pattern is repeated
step 4
-now the actual fluff
-lightly erase the guild line n draw lumps along them Note: how the r broken up in some parts
- continue this for both n also make some on the inside
-Note: the way they face is in the same direction as the feathers
step 5
- u have been drawing the fluff n feathers so far now u need to draw actual wing, joints n all
-the one part that is connected to the body in the end, has two joints one connected to the body n the other connected to the joint on the other part
-the other part has one joint connect, n should end half up the feather
Finish
-just alittle clean up n u have urself a wing
Note: i didnt clean this up, do to time n of course its not gonna look exactly like mine
Outer view
this view is alittle more complex, which is y ther r two colors on this one, it will be explained when it is reach
step 1
- this step is the same as the inner view
step 2
-this guild r for the feathers, the fluff is not seen on the outer view
-Note: how both r the full length, n that the one on the left over lays the one on the right
step 3
part 1
- since there is not fluff u go straight to the feather, both side has two sets of feathers, we will start on the left first
-the first set of feathers should be the ones i highlighted
-the red highlighted feather extend all the way to the guild lines
-the green highlighted one should only go half way
part 2
-still on the left side
-these feathers r alittle bigger n like on the inner veiw spread out as the extend outward
-red= to the guild line
-grean= these will go out alittle further
part 3
-the right side
- first set, which is in green should be half
-second set, which is red goes to the guild line n should look as if it is under the first set
-this side should look as if it is kinda going under the left side
step 4
-same as the last step in the inner view just draw the parts n its joints
Finish
-just clean it up n there u have it the, outer veiw of the wing
u may make take these steps n alter them, use the same steps, watever.....it is free for u to use now
