[PRP] Night Excursion (Striking, Seaki)

[Seaki]

Crisp winds blew across the open plains. The moon, though not full, shone brightly and gave a light to the ground. Like day without the heat, Damu'Johari mused silently. He stared at the stars glittering the sky with wonder in his red eyes. Beautiful...

A small gust of wind stroked against Damu's small body, curling around him like a blanket, comforting. He closed his eyes with a shudder of happiness. The wind, it was lovely; weaving through his tri-toned fur expertly. With a breathy sigh, Damu looked back toward the sky.

Umhlaba-Umntwana
Umhlaba`Umntwana stirs, the wind whispering in her large canine ear. She giggles softly as it leaves her ear to tickle her nose, her eyes open slowly to slits and she gazes, at first the world around her is blurs. She blinks again and rubs her eyes with a paw. She could see the blurry shapes of her siblings and parents, it was dark out but, nearly bright as day with e moon hovering as it was. She yawns and stands stretching, her body leaning forward and hind-quarters in the air, tail wagging. Then lifts her maw to smell the wind that had awoken her.

Damu's head swiveled to look over his family. A small gold and white shape had stirred; his sister. He gave a light smile in her direction and watch as she scented the wind.

He pulled himself from his sitting position and turned to face is golden sibling. "Sister," he called soft, though the vibrations of his voice carried lightly by the wind. His voice was soft and scratchy from ill-use.

She turns her head to her brother, Damu, and smiles. "Morn." She says happily, her own voice a bit rickety. She steps towards him, legs a shakey but, prepared to carry her body weight. She gets next to him and sits, her eyes raised and staring at the sky now in wonder. The world was so big and new to her. She couldn't wait to explore it.  

[Seaki]

Damu gave his sister a soft smile before letting his eyes travel back to the sky. A small yawns escaped from Damu's maw. He was sleepy, having not been to sleep yet. He wasn't to stay up and explore, but he didn't make it far and started to gaze up at the sky.

Having a bundle of energy stored she is standing again within moments. Completely ready to explore. "Wanna 'xplore?" She asks, her voice still rickety and words nearly slurred as she tries for actual talking. It sounded more like 'wannu esplorr'. She used words she had heard from their parents earlier.

Damu's eyes lit up and the thought of exploring. The sleepiness suddenly left his body and his tail started to wag. He gave a nod. "Sure~" He said enthusiastically, though his voice was still a bit cracked. He took a few steps forward and curiously looked at his sister.

Twana smirked at his steady few steps and then begins a slightly quick sprint in no particular direction. her head raises to the wind, gathering any and all scents she could find. the moon above her glinting off her fur and the grass beneath tickling her paws as she ran. "Where?" She asks out loud to him but, quiet enough not to awaken the other members of his family. She stopped a good couple meters or so away from him in amidst some bushes.

Damu dropped his head to the sand to scent the gound. his body cast a dark shadow away from the light of the moon. It was faintly interesting. He closed his red eyes and tried to pick up te sent of something besides dirt. This underdeveloped nose couldn't piack up much, as it really didn't need to. "I... don't know," he answered his sister with a hushed voice.

Damu let himself wander over to his sister side, near the bushed. "Did you find anything?" He questioned softly, his voice finally not terribly scratchy. His white nose twitched curiously.

Damu glanced around, looking at the casting shadows of small rocks and shoots of grass peering from the ground. curiously, he watched a bug scuttle across the ground for it came up to enjoy the cool night air as well. The little bug scurried fast across the sand; Damu couldn't distinguish one leg from the next. "Sister, what's that bug?" He asked still staring after it.

Twana glances up at his voice and then glances down. In amongst all the shadows of rocks and other towering objects, the long grass sways about. "I don't know.." She says to him and creeps closer. The bug stops and Twana stops in return. "What are you?" She asks the bug and watches it as if expecting it to reply back to her. She goes to lean over towards ita nd it scurries away without hesitation.

She jumps back startled by the sudden movement and then takes a step back as it disappears into the underbrush. "We'll have to ask Mum later." She says, her voice settling to a girl-ish softer tone. She doesn't stand there long but, instead turns and starts into the taller grass aiming to find more.

"I wonder what's passed here." She says to her brother. Her curiosity burning like wildfire now. She takes paw step after paw step following her curiosity to a large meadow type thing not to far from where she had entered. "Look at this!" She shouts happily, there, in the middle of teh meadow stodo a small body of water.  

[Seaki]

Wagging his tail with an intent to chase the surrying bug, Damu grinned. He took one pounce at the bug before he heard heard his sister's voice. His red ear swiveled towards her voice and he raised his body up.

Damu trotted after his sister and into the small meadow. "What is it?" he questioned as he made his way to the waters edge, having not ever seen water before. The moon reflected and sparkled across it's surface. Damu's eyes littered in wonder and happiness. It was simply beautiful... Simply wonderful. He watched the white light dance agross the surface of the water.

Twana wanders forward and stands over the edge peering into the water. "I don't know.." She whispers in extreme awe. "There's someone down there!" She states startled, the mirror like surface reflected her. "And the moon, it has a sister?" She asks out loud staring at the reflection of the glowing orb.

She glances back at Damu. "Come here, look at this." She says almost urgently, encouraging him to see the dog staring back at her.  

[Seaki]

Damu lightly touched teh surface of the water. It was cold and wet. He frowned, and watched the ripples run across the water, distorting the images on the surface. He looked up as he heard his siter tell him to come.

He bounded over to his sister and looked at the surface. However, he stayed silent, watching the water in confusion and wonder.

Twana glares at the surface, the mirrored dog glares back. She stares a moment longer now ignoring her brothers presence and gets a sudden realization, that 'other dog' staring her down was herself. She giggles at her own stupidity and looks at her brother then to the water.

Raising her paw she splashes Damu a little, water raising up to meet air then the pup next to her.  

[Seaki]

"Eep!" Water splashed into his face and Damu blinked quickly. He laughed and used his paw to splash back at his sister. He giggled and dashed away, skirting the edge of the water. His paws dipped lightly into the shallows of the water, and spashed up to hit his face and belly. He was a... slowish runner, so he knew his sister would probably catch up, but he tried his hardest.
