ICTH's First Free For All Role Play: A Trip to the Mall Since this role play is basically a free for all, there aren't really any rules besides the basic role playing guidelines and guild rules.
The only guidelines for this particular role play is that it takes place in a mall somewhere. You can play characters that work there or that are just visiting for a shopping trip.
You don't have to fill out a profile. Just post. In fact, anyone can post here at any time. There's no plot unless you want to come up with one for your own characters.
A little setting info for anyone who wants it: This is a basic shopping mall that I'm pretty much basing off of my prior experiences with malls. There are tons different stores ranging from clothing, to electronics, to arcades. There is also a movie theater and a large food court with all sorts of different restaurants.
Now's your turn to have some fun out of this so.... Enjoy!

Slowly, the lights all around the one-mile shopping expanse began to flash on in succession. It was early Saturday morning and the mall was just opening. Store owners were in their shops, turning the display lights on, checking the cash registers, and making sure everything was ready for the busy day ahead of them. Saturdays were generally the busiest days, after all. The smells from the food court began to waft about the area around it. The little mini-shops that kept all of their goods inside and on small carts were setting up as well.
A security guard let out a large yawn as he shuffled past the doors from one of the back 'workers only' rooms. He was adjusting the black tie that made it's home around his neck. It sat loosely against a white dress shirt. On his legs sat fairly loose-fitting black pants with black shoes on his feet. One of the shoe laces wasn't tied, so he bent over to correct that. After finishing with that, he stood back up, looking rather sleepy. His eyes were half-way shut and his black hair was hanging loosely around his face, a bit messily. He mumbled something inaudible to himself as he stopped in the middle of the empty hall. He looked to his left at one of the workers getting their store ready. It was too early to be up. Or at least he thought so. Everyone else seemed to be so wide awake yet he was still half asleep. That probably was his fault, though. He had stayed up quite late the night before. Probably not the best idea, especially considering everything he had done. He snickered quietly to himself at the memory before turning and walking away. He had to get to work no matter how tired he was. Such was the life of the security guard.

For most people when it was Saturday morning, it was a time to sleep in and catch up with their wild imaginations that could only exist in their dreams. And they would do this for a long time till it was pretty much noon. But that wasn't what it was to Ann. It was a time to get up and enjoy the day. Most of her friends liked to question her on how she could get up so early in the day and look so....cheerful! But she didn't mind being an early bird. Anyways she was planning to go and take a trip to the mall to do some shopping. She wanted to get there before any of the big crowds came, so quickly giving her brown wavy hair and teeth a brush, getting her clothes on and having a quick breakfast of toast and jam. She finally decided it was time to go. Grabbing her bag she headed out and went towards the mall.

A girl stepped just outside the doorway of one of the shops entrances. She stared down the long hall with a distant expression on her face. Her long, purple hair flowed down her back while her tight-fitting shirt threatened to bust open towards the top. She blinked a few times before turning around and walking back into the store. She ignored the other worker who was getting one of the cash registers set up. Only a few more minutes and the mall would be officially open for business. She stepped behind the counter and leaned her stomach against it, letting her elbows rest on the hard surface. She supported her head with her hands as her eyes drifted lazily over to the other. "You working all day today, aren't you? That's gotta suck," the other said as he glanced up from the cash register. She shrugged as she adjusted the name tag that read 'Dasha'. "I don't really care," she muttered before glancing back up. "Well, I know I'd rather not spend all of my Saturday in a men's clothing store," he responded before a puzzled look came onto his face. "Why do you work in a men's clothing store anyway?" She stared at him blankly for a moment before shrugging her petite shoulders once more. "It's a long story," she said before turning and walking away.

The graveyard shift had been over for some time and the poor fellow that stood behind the mall's security cameras was finally able to get up and start making his rounds of the mall. It wasn't his favorite job. By far, it was the most boring. But that didn't really matter to him. He got to see his lovely girlfriend everyday once he picked up the morning shift. Most of his friends thought he was insane for working two of the three shifts but then again, he might be insane anyway so it didn't matter. Ruffling his hair and placing his cap on his head, he set out into the sparcily filled hallways.
"Vatches, vatches, vatches.... Augh! Vhy did I decide tou vork here!" He sent his hand to his purple hair as he began opening the shop. "Just another day, right? ...... vounderfull....." He had to pick this shop to apply for. Cursing himself he turned and walked back behind the counter. Just another day.

Arriving at the mall's entrance Ann stood boredly as she waited for the doors to open, and there weren't many people around so she had no one to talk to... Sighing she took out her music player and scanned through a few songs till she found one she liked and letted it play. She hummed along with the tune for a bit while checking her watch every so often. The mall should be opening soon.

Silver hair flashing as the morning light flickered through the glass roof of the mall and down upon the officer's head as he walked the halls briskly. Keys jangled in his hands as he made his way from door to door. Opening was his favorite time in the morning for he could already smell 'Pretzel Palace' starting up their fryers and ovens. Gotta make sure I pass by later, he thought to himself as he neared another batch of doors. The small tag that was clasped to his shirt blinked as the light bounced off it's smooth surface. Officer Bateman it read, but his full name was Flint Bateman and he was often called Bate no matter how much he detested it. He was an odd one for the job he had taken as well. Tall and skinny, thought still built, with silver hair that reached down to the collar of his shirt. Often enough, like today, he was forced by work to tie it together. His little mock-ponytail didn't bother him though. If anyone commented on it he could simply look at them and his silver-flecked blue eyes would silence them with their demand for respect. For sure he was not one normal people messed with on a whim. They had to have a nice set of metal to confront him and still retain their confidence. When it came to women he was... popular. One would think it was because of his looks and charm - and no doubt these where not lacking - however, he seemed to make friends with them easier then other men. It was probably his ability to sympathize with them. He was effeminate in his own ways and often ran into things that could, like other men's issues, be compared with a woman's issues. However, unlike other men, he wasn't afraid to talk about the things that made others squeamish. Female topics didn't make him want to plug his ears, but rather, made him interested. He had yet to find many women that shared his ways and that could share a conversation that included his manly issues. They often looked at him weird and didn't dare try to understand what he was talking about. His eyes lifted up as he reached the door and was met with the dark figure of a girl. She seemed close to his age, if not younger. "She's here early," he commented to himself as he slipped the key into the slot and twisted it to the side. The doors rolled open, sensing the girl's presence. "Welcome," he uttered with a brief smile.
Heeeeey Juliet! Did yeh get the goods?" called a figure from the shadows near the McDalis Movie Playing Cinema's entrance. As the figure stumbled from it's hiding place the strong smell of some sweet plant wafted over Juliet. "I thought you said you were quiting that stuff?" she commented as she held out a bag. The figure snatched it up and opening it quickly, pulling out a powdered donut and shoving it in his face. "I did.... sort of.... Awwww come on Juliet! I'm workin' on it. Give a man some break will you." Juliet rolled her eyes as the guy scarfed down two more donuts. "Careful with those Flanel. You might kill yourself." She sighed and leaned up against the wall as he slid to the floor beside her. "Ya know? I really need to thank you for this. I really do. I mean, how else could I get these awesome donuts? Huuuuuh? I dun know where! Only your mother's shop has the best. Even if I only get the day old ones." A low grumble sounded in Juliet's chest as she moaned. "Ah, yes. But they'd taste better if your pallet could handle them."

The girl with the name tag that read 'Dasha' emerged from the back of the 'Kenneth Cole' store a short time after disappearing behind it. She walked to the front of the store, stepping out into the hallway once again, glancing down it. She looked both ways before simply standing there. She crossed her arms and shifted her weight between her two legs. "People should be entering any second now," the other man behind the counter said, staring at her. "I know," she replied curtly. She wasn't exactly looking for customers. Customers meant she had to work. Working was not exactly what she was looking forward to. Though, then again, she didn't mind it too much. At least it wasn't as bad as her previous job. "Vhy do zhey leave zis place so messy? Zhey are all peegs! Zhat is vhat they are!" a young man complained to himself as he attempted to clean up after the workers of the previous night. He stood in the middle of a large jewelry stand, though much of the jewelry was still locked up. He, for one, didn't trust the security guards at night to keep the more expensive pieces safe. It wasn't so much that he didn't think that they were doing their job properly, he just didn't want to put his property into another's hands. His chocolate-colored eyes lifted up to find a small, jewel-covered clock on the side of the stand that sat in the middle of the mall's hall. "ох милый!" he exclaimed before rushing into working once again. He didn't have the time to dilly-dally, the mall was opening.

Noticing the door suddenly open, probably having sensed her presence seeing that she was pretty near. She blinked for a moment before looking up to see an Officer standing there. Seeing him smile at her, she quickly returned it with her own smile as she quickly took out her earphones. " Morning " she greeted back, quickly looking him over. He looked a bit taller than her and looked slightly older too, even though the sight of his silver hair did make her question his age for a moment.

"You're quiet early," he commented as he let his keys slide back to his belt on their string. "I don't see very many people that get here this early."

"Morning, Master Bates," came a smug voice behind Flint. The other guard, who's name tag read 'Officer Barrow', stood behind him with an amused grin on his face. No matter how many times he used that nickname for him, he never got tired of it. His eyes slowly fell on the girl near the door and he gave her a slight nod. "Morning miss," he added so that he wasn't ignoring her.

"Auuugh! Let it be you cocker!" his eyes furrowed as a smile crept to his lips. His accent flowed gently as he spoke. He glanced back to he girl quickly. "A pardon m language miss.... he ah... deserved it.." He looked back to Cole and, as he walked past hi, punched him lightly on the arm. "Its about time you recognize my importance though."

Cole just smirked at his snide remarks. It was hardly something that bothered him. In fact, it was one of the few entertainments he got out of his job. "Sure, whatever you say," he replied. He gave a small shrug before glancing on down the hall again. He could see someone else who had apparently gotten there quite early as well heading towards them, for it wasn't a worker.

"It's alright i don't mind the language" She responded to the first Officer. She wasn't really known for using words like that herself, having rather have soap in her mouth instead. But she didn't mind hearing it once in a while. She watched the two Officers talk to each other, and then the second Officer go off. Probably to go check on another person that had entered the mall.
