Warning: Explicit details to gory atmosphere. :3
Panic arose within the female Mewtwo's face as she looked down at her hands. They were smothered and caked with the crimson flow of blood not hers. Turning her face up, Catherine saw the body of a lone Vulpix, its body soaked in a pool of its own red secretion. Tears immediately filled her eyes are she fled to stand beside the Vulpix. She looked down towards it, the streams of tears pouring down her face. The Vulpix did not move. It was quite evident the life of the Vulpix was taken. The amount of blood loss was enough for one to obtain their answer. But Catherine could not accept it. She picked the Vulpix up as she keeled over it and cradled it within her grasp, the blood from the Vulpix's wound staining her bosom heavily. Catherine sobbed as she held the body of the Vulpix close to her body. She knew she had killed it. She knew she had taken the life of the Vulpix away. She knew she had murdered it and caused all the bloodshed. But. She could not ignore the real truth in her. She had liked the feeling of blood upon her three-fingered hands. She adored the feeling of seeing something smaller than her suffer. She enjoyed the cries of the Vulpix as she disemboweled the small Pokemon and let the entrails hang out the carcass and let the Pokemon bleed to death.
Shaking her head, Catherine tried to rid the thought from her head. But it would not leave. A vision of her tearing the Vulpix apart appeared in her head. In a violent motion, Catherine clutched her hands to her head. "No!" she cried out. The dead Vulpix dropped to the ground due to her sudden motion. Catherine trembled as the memories flooded back to her all at once. Tears poured heavily from her eyes. The memories were painful to look at. Yet, the sadistic satisfaction within her glowed with sheer brightness. Eventually, the warm eyes of the female Mewtwo went dull. Her hands relaxed from her head and dangled to her sides. Her tail which was twitching with fatigue and fear simmered to a halt. Primal instincts had taken over. It was too late. She wanted more. She wanted more to suffer.
Immediately, Catherine cried out and began to destroy the vegetation around her. Trees fell and forest Pokemon scampered and flew away in panic. A large commotion was brought on. But it was not enough. Catherine cried out once again as she shot a Fire Blast amongst the canopy of some still standing trees. The forest collection was set on fire. Even though it was a small portion, it was very windy that day. Eventually, the area would become consumed with fire and smoke. And the bringer of it all would watch with satisfaction. Moving her way through the forest, Catherine tried to seek out the company of another living being. All the Pokkemon seemed to have left, leaving her alone. However, she could have been wrong.

Another field assignment. How could the department honestly expect him to keep up with all of the articles they wanted him to write? At the rate he was producing, Adel felt like they should have named the paper after him. He mused names aloud to himself as he carefully stepped through and around the grasses and shrubs. "Adel Times. Adel News. The Daily Adel. ...ooo, I like that one."
So busy was the reporter with making up names that he didn't notice the flock of bird Pokemon that suddenly flew over head or the small stampede of Pokemon fleeing some unseen enemy. It was the crisp, singing smell of smoke that caught his attention. He abruptly paused in his steps. Had someone left a campfire burning? That certainly wasn't good. He patted his side to make certain that his water bottle was still attached to his hip - if the fire was small enough, he could put it out himself - then hesitantly moved in what he assumed was the direction of the fire.
His assumption was not wrong.
The fire was infinitely larger than he expected; he could see the smoke rising from treetops just a few yards away. But how had the flames reached the top of the trees and left the ground unscarred? "Must've been a Moltres," he muttered with a forced laugh. Maybe it was a Moltres, Adel. Maybe you should be leaving, Adel, the voice of reason in his head urged. But for once, he did not let his panic settle entirely. Something was wrong, and something...someone...could've been hurt. Then what?
Despite the silence he was trying his best to maintain, he could hear every sound he made. The forest was so quiet, even with the soft murmur of fire crackling in the canopy. Something was very, very wrong. More alert than a starved Ekans waiting for a meal, he crept along...then very suddenly stopped. His wide, frightened eyes fell onto the still, unassuming pile of red fur and blood just a few feet away.
"...oh...God."

Catherine paused for a moment as she heard movement. A sinister smile cracked on the Mewtwo's face. She had came to believe that there was nothing living around. Her assumption was wrong. Slowly walking towards the living being, she came to see it was a human. With her hand dangled to her side, a small laugh erupted from her thoughts. Her mouth did not move, but the telekinetic thought ran throughout the spit and cackle of the flaming woods. Catherine had never killed a human before, but there was a first time for everything right? The Mewtwo lunged herself at the human from the side, her blood drenched hands aiming for the male's neck. She wanted to make him suffer first. She wanted to hear his cries. The runic marking about her body glowed profusely as she committed her act.

It'll happen fast, his mother had always warned him. He'd spent his entire childhood and a good few years of his adult life hearing his mother tell him how dangerous Pokemon were, how he should never go near one and certainly never trust one. And yet, it seemed to happen so...slowly. He turned his head to see the Mewtwo gliding towards him as effortlessly as a cloud. Things went oddly silent for what felt like forever as he stared at her. The glowing runes, the soft eyes that...seemed dead, somehow. It isn't often that one meets a Mewtwo, and less often that one forget it. But...this couldn't have been the same Pokemon: certainly not the one mourning in a field over a dead flower.
Her laugh rang through his brain like a gong, the shiver reverberating down his spine and to the tips of his toes. He took a slow, wary step back, as though moving quietly would make the Mewtwo shift her intentions. But that was a...silly thing to think. When she lunged for him, he turned to run, but that was a...silly thing to do. When her fingers, limited in number though they were, wrapped around his throat, he tried to choke out a word. What, he wasn't sure. Stop. Don't. No. It didn't matter; they all came out as the same strangled sound that couldn't escape his throat. Like a wild-caught Ponyta, he thrashed and writhed and contorted his body in all the ways he could think to try to free himself. They'll kill you, them Pokemon, his mother always warned with a slow, sage-like nod.
Why hadn't he listened?

Catherine giggles simmered throughout the air once more as she tightened her squeeze upon the male's throat. He didn't notice him. Not at all. But to her, he seemed like a play toy and nothing more. As her fingers stayed curved around his throat, a spasm caused her to quickly remove them. It was a brief moment, but Catherine returned to her regular self. But instincts fought its way through. Clutching her hands to her head again, Catherine rolled off the male and onto the grass. Once again, thoughts had enveloped her mind. Just like Adel had did before, Catherine rolled and twisted around, trying to figure out what was going on.
Thoughts such as, "This is wrong!" and "I can't cause any more pain!" sufficed through her head. Than again, the gleam of sadism pushed through these thoughts once more. Opening her darkened eyes, Catherine clawed a simple scratch at Adel's face. She wanted to see blood just to calm her down and the meek attempt was the best she could have given.

The vision at the edges of Adel's eyes started to blur the longer the female held him. Maybe if he got enough oxygen to his brain, he would have remembered that there was a dagger neatly tucked in the waist of his pants. Maybe he would have at least had the common sense to kick at the female, to wrap his hands around her boney wrists and try to pull her away. But none of that came to him. In fact, little was coming to him at all when she finally let him go.
Had he died? No...he still felt quite alive, his heart pounding in his throat as he took rasping gulps of air. Had she given up? He sudden cease and desist gave him a moment to look her over. There was no doubt in his mind after a few seconds...this was the same female. He knit his brow in confusion as he tried to piece things together. Had he provoked her? No, not that he could think of. He glanced for a moment to the dead Vulpix a few feet away - and it was in that moment that she clawed his cheek, leaving a surprisingly neat red streak across his face. Blood dripped lazily from the cut as he hesitantly moved backwards.
"Don't do this," he coughed out, taking a moment to catch his breath before continuing. "It's me. Remember me? Don't do this." His voice took on an earnest plea. His throat ached and his breathe still hitched in his throat. He couldn't escape just yet. If he could stall for time...
"Don't. I...I don't want to have to hurt you." A bluff if there ever was one. He barely stood a chance against a Legendary Pokemon, but she didn't have to know that. He cleared his throat and tried to sit up straight. "Because...I will. Don't make me do it. Okay?"

The words made Catherine's movement pause. She had her arm pulled back to set out a punch, but she had halted as the sympathetic side of her prevented her from hitting him. Her arm fell to her side and dangled loosely. Her eyes warmed up and eventually Catherine fell down upon herself, the weight of her wrecked heart bringing her to her knees. "What have I done...?" sobbed Catherine into her bloodstained hands, now presenting a brownish hue now that the blood had dried. "What have I done? What have I done? What have I done?" The tears rolled from the Mewtwo's face. Was this the real her? Was she set out to kill and nothing more? The female Mewtwo dug her face into the grass as she cried, the tears falling like dewdrops towards the grass. "Please forgive me, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry!" Catherine echoed to Adel. Her body spasmed. It was returning again. Catherine couldn't hold it back any longer.
"Please run away." Catherine cried as her body floated into the chaotic atmosphere. "Please, get away. I can't hold it back anymore. Run away while you have the chance. I don't want to kill you. I...I really don't. But its returning. It won't stop, its returning and eventually it will take control. Run away! Please!"

Yes, Adel. Run away while you have the chance, Adel.
Sitting on the ground and watching, the man must've looked like an abused Growlithe, the way he flinched at the punch he was certain was going to connect, then glancing up with a look of horror dancing in his wide brown eyes. He started to shuffle back a foot, but something stayed his movements. He may not have known her as a friend or as a person, but he knew that this, this Jekyll and Hyde creature was one in the same as the kind, caring Pokemon he had met once before. And despite the voice screaming into his head to go, despite his tense muscles that were ready to spring into action, he did not leave. His hand was reaching for her shoulder when her body suddenly lifted from the ground, as though strings were pulling her away from him.
Leave, Adel. Leave now.
No. He would not listen. He stood his ground, biting his lip at the decision he knew was poor. "I...I won't leave you." He shook his head as he spoke, a fuss of blond hair falling into his face as his ponytail began to unweave. "I know this isn't you. This...thing...isn't you. I know. It's okay." He held up his hands to show that he posed no threat, contradicting what he had said only a few moments before. "I won't hurt you, and you won't hurt me. Okay? We...can figure this out, right? Together."

Crying out in pain and frustration, the other her violently thrusted Adel aside using Psychic. She aimed for a tree. She was hoping to knock him out. Than she would have her fun ripping him apart than leave. Dropping herself to the ground, the soles of Catherine's feet crunched pieces of flaked off bark from the branches up above. Fire blazed in the background as it began to spread more. The fire would burn down entirely if nothing was done about it. More flying Pokemon escaped the falling branches as Catherine threw one to the side as it fell towards her. Staring down at Adel, Catherine pulled his chin up to look at his eyes. "You're going to die." the dull voice of her spoke as her eyes narrowed. "You had a choice to run. But you chose otherwise So for you idiocy, you are going to die. Do you accept that?"

With the quiet roar of the fire surrounding them, it was hard to tell which sound was louder: the cracking of tree as it splintered and nearly broke from the impact of having a body thrown into it...or the crack of the spine of that body. Was it broken? Was he paralyzed? No...Adel was certain that he wouldn't have felt the pain run along each vein if that had been the case. Still, the shock of hitting the tree with such force - more so than even the pain - dazed him, if nothing else. He slumped at the base of the tree, looking unconscious until Catherine made his gaze meet hers.
Adel was silent for a few moments as he struggled to gather his wits about him. The Mewtwo was right. He had a choice, a brief glimpse of light that had now been snuffed at the end of the tunnel. And now he was going to die, alone and afraid at the hands of a creature he'd been warned about for his whole damn life. ...except...that was not how it was going to happen. Not if he had any say in it.
"I...," he began, attempting to find his breath and his voice. His fingers slowly inched towards the blade still tucked into his belt buckle. When he spoke, his tone was soft, but only slightly meek. "I...accept that this...is not who you are. I think you should, too."

"How do you really know who I really am?" spoke the other side of Catherine as she clenched his chin harder. Her narrowed eyes turned to a glare for his statement. But she also shunned herself. She was having a conversation with her prey. How much longer did she have to wait to kill him? Than again, it was only proper to give him an reply. "I am a creature born to kill and destroy and to earn satisfaction from it all. I am forced to kill the innocent." She clenched his chin harder. "And I am suppose to feel happy while doing it. This was my destiny chosen. This is the real me. However, I ran away. I created another. Another part of me to run away from it all. I am pathetic. I was pathetic. But not anymore. I have made my decision." Pausing again, Catherine's eyes looked hurt. Even though her pupils were heavily dilated, they simmered with a small tinge of the real her. However, even as her ears slightly lowered, she twisted Adel's neck sharply. Her mind told her that he was going to do something. She ignored the thought, but it was obvious. He would have to fight back eventually.

"I just...know," he hissed through the pain, clenching his eyes shut when she jerked his already tense and aching neck to the side. "People are who they are...when they're happy. I saw you when you were happy. That's who you are." God, he hurt so badly. The pain was becoming less precise now; it was a slow, pulsing ache that coursed from limb to limb. He hurt. He hurt so, so badly. And he was so, so frightened - even Catherine could tell, with his slightly dilated pupils, his sweaty neck and palms, his heart pounding so loudly that it seems to echo in her ears as well as his. But he had pledged himself to this - and he hadn't much of a choice now, anyway - and he was not going to give up. Not just yet, anyway.
"You shouldn't...get rid of...that part of you. It's important. All the parts of you that are there are important. But...you have to control them. Just...please don't do this." His voice was a whimper. He was going to act sooner or later...why wasn't he doing anything now? Why was he being so passive and taking his fate lying down? Why did he trust this creature to listen to his words of reason, however pathetic they might be?
Because trust is blind, Adel.

At that moment, Catherine released her grip from his chin. His veins rushing with blood simmered in her thoughts. In truth, it made her smile happily. It was a sinisterly, triumphant smile. She came to believe she had won. However, his words got to her. She couldn't shake it off. His words were the truth and it cut deeper than any knife. Sitting down in front of the weakened individual, Catherine tilted her head and still held the smile upon her face. "You look pathetic." she commented as her markings shimmered with luminance to match even that of the blazing fire behind her. She laughed at her own comment before changing her set of words. "Let me restate that." she said as she laughed. "All humans are pathetic. They are grimy creatures who are always looking for power, craving the unknown and beautiful, and believe they stand upon everything else within this world. They dominated over Pokemon even though they spouted that they were living in symbiosis with them. If that was true, then why were creatures like me created?" Catherine smiled lightly as her face brightened with Adel's suffering. She laughed as she tilted her head the other way. "I was created by humans to kill humans. I was forced bring unhappiness to other humans by humans who wanted power. And yet, when I turn against humans, I am the bad one?" she giggled again.
"Truth is not blind." Catherine commented, though she was not taking the initiative to read Adel's thoughts. It was mere coincidence. "But the truth is blinded when given the chance to see reality for what it really is."

Despite himself, Adel found a tired smile creeping onto his features in response to Catherine's comment on just how pathetic he was. Goodness knew how many times he'd heard that statement before. He straightened himself up so that he could raise his head on his own when she sat down in front of him, matching his gaze with hers despite the pain in his neck that urged him to just put his head down, to just quietly give in. But, Adel had never been very good at listening to his body.
"Not...all humans are bad like the ones who created you. Humans are all different, like...," he paused, scanning the area for a metaphor, then continued some moments later, "...blades of grass. I know we all look the same, but we're...different. I've never thought...I never thought I was any better than any person, any Pokemon." He chuckled briefly, a soft little sound that came out more pathetically than was his intention. "Maybe it's because...I'm scared, I guess. But...I've always respected you. All of you."
His head felt heavy, suddenly. He pushed himself up a bit more, leaning back into the tree for support. For a moment, he glanced around him, taking in the utter destruction that he was in the middle of. The situation seemed...hopeless, yes, but he felt strangely resigned. If this was how it was meant to be...then he was going to do what he had to do. But the meek, effeminate looking man, with his mess of now unruly blond hair and his broken glasses, with pain coursing through his body like there was nothing else for him to feel... he knew he wouldn't go down without a fight.
"Besides." His strength somehow renewed, no matter how briefly, he groped behind him for a low branch to help him pull himself to his feet. "If you...are better than humans, so much stronger and smarter...then why are you still acting the way they made you to act, doing what they wanted you to do? Is that...how you want to be? Some, some shell of human ideals?" Standing on only moderately sturdy legs, he frowned at the Mewtwo in an expression of disappointment. "You...you can't even...think for yourself, can you."

A infuriating growl escaped from Catherine's mouth as she held his neck straight and attempted to punch him in the face. However, Catherine was brought to her feet, her head pressing into his chest. "Why does the truth hurt?" the meek voice of the Mewtwo asked as her body began to go limp. Her eyes were still dull, but the pain in them were quite evident. Sighing, Catherine did not remove herself as she used Adel as a standing support. Her heaving breathe intermingled with his beating heart. She could make out eat thump precisely as her ear twitched to the sound. "You have something sharp, don't you?" asked Catherine as tears lightly rolled down her face. Taking Adel's loose hand, Catherine placed it upon the tube that connected her head to her spine. "If you do, snap this." she said as the tears stained Adel's clothing. "If you are capable of destroying this, you can stop the flow of blood traveling to my head. Breaking it won't hurt, but I would bleed to death. Please, do me the favor of doing this. I am tired of living. The other side of me. The terrible side of me, is always going to exist. Running away isn't the answer. So please. I beg of you. End my misery here and now..."
