Ok when I grow up I plan to join the Marines, theres just one kink in my plan: I can't decide wether to go through boot camp or go to the naval academy and become an officer. Now, if I go through boot camp, I don't really need any further education other than high school, I just go to boot camp when I'm 18 and yeah. Now if I go through the Naval Academy I'll need at least 4 years of college, but I can go to college before or after the academy, and if I go through the academy I get an officer rank with a nice pay. I'm not sure which to do, sure I've got 3 years to decide but I want hear other peoples opinions, should I go through thr Naval Academy or should I just go through boot camp. (For those who are wondering why I'd go to the Naval Academy if I want to join the Marines, it's because the Marines are so small that they were put under the department of the Navy so if I go to the academy I have the option of being an officer in the Navy or the Marines)

Naval academy, because if you decide not to be in the marines any more for some reason, you can still get a decent paying job because you went to college.

I Lost My Innocense i would go for the naval academy yes so you can enter as an officer that way you make more money and earn more respect as you enter

I agree with what everyone else is saying.Doing the Naval Academy seems to be the better option since you can get paid and go to college with becoming and officer.You'll be eduacted,while paid,and have a decent status 3nodding .

I say go through boot camp, and after a few years/ranks, go to the Naval Academy. That way you can see things on both sides for yourself and won't let the rank of an officer go to your head. Then you can EARN respect instead of demanding it due to rank, like some in here seem to suggest. Officer rank does not merit you to be respected. You still need to earn it. But either way, it's your choice.

Boot camp would actully be good. My uncle was in it. And he came out tough! lol. So gooo boot camp!

Okay:
1. Koravel, please shut up...
2. I would suggest the Naval Acadamy for most of the reasons already posted by everyone except for the little "respect" gambit. Just be careful if you do. They might stick you at a boring desk job, so request a more out going practice.
