Kai trotted through the woods of Nightmare Valley without fear. Afterall, she was a firebender of the highest skill - these was nothing in these woods she couldn't handle. More than that it was SO NICE to finally get away from her family for a while. In other families it was the boys who had all the expectations on their heads, but she was the only girl and the only one who'd stayed close to their mother. Most of the time it wasn't so bad. She'd learned firebending, weaponry, survival skills... But it wasn't enough. She wanted something more...

Ares stood in a clearing in the woods, watching the sky for a moment. He wished he could wield fire like those stars in the sky. Not that he couldn't handle high temperatures... he could. He just couldn't handle 'star heat'. He frowned... well was it really hot if they were in space? He supposed it didn't matter.. still it was something he wondered about. He'd come to realize being alone for all of his life made room for some very odd and interesting thoughts to go through his head. Problem was.. he had no clue if they were 'normal' or not..
((Ok.. a bit socially awkward and I think a bit philosophical... but he's not personality hyper like the other two.. thank goodness!))

((Oh - how cute!))
"Now what is that..." Kai wondered quietly to herself spotting the figure in the center of the distant clearing. "Looks like a pony...stands like a statue..." she said approaching the form cautiously.

((Yeah... for you. Now I have to figure out philosophical stuff... I don't want to get stuck like I am with Puck...))
Ares tilted his head slightly observing the approaching pony. He could tell it was a female... though he wondered why she was wandering around alone. Perhaps she was a fighter? "Am I in your way?" Deciding it would be polite to ask that first.. just in case she had been heading to this spot for a purpose.

He turned to her, observing from up close now "Of course I speak. Everything can speak as long as one is there to hear it..." He tilted his head "Thats true... you could walk around. I forgot there was plenty of space around..."

She smiled, "It's a clearing, they are full of space. So who are you?"

He gave a small smile back, nodding his head in a slight bowed greeting "So it is. My name is Ares. And you are?"

She shook her head, "I'm doing some long over due exploration of the valley. I've spent all my life in Dream..." Why was she telling him so much? She didn't even know who this guy was? Of course he didn't exactly seem dangerous...

He peered at her curiously "Really? A dream pony? You seem like you would fit well here... in coloring at least. I've lived my life here in Nightmare. Admittedly I've never ventured to Dream... it always seemed a bit too... bright for my tastes." He was a bit thrilled to have someone to talk to... that wasn't trying to eat him. It was a nice chance of pace.

"As it would happen my grandfather's of Nightmare..." she said. "But my mother's of Dream and my coat is of her color." Why was she telling him all this? No one with any sense would even care about what color coat she has... She shook her head, "I wanted to see what it was like over here..."

He nodded "Ah that explains it." He gave her another curious look, tinged with concern " How do you like Nightmare so far?"

She shrugged, "It's dark. That was to be expected. To be honest I haven't had much of a chance to explore..."
