I see there are quite a few people who are interested in Swedish around here, so I came up with this thing. Yeah, a thing. Lookit:
Anyone interested in learning Swedish online? As in, not just read a webpage with silly translations, but to actually learn to speak, write and read Swedish and go through every little grammatical piece of crap ever to exist in this sing-song language? Now how about that? Fluent in Swedish? Bullshit to some - a dream come true to others.
"How?" you ask me. I shall answer your question.
I'm gonna put up a class of people interested in learning the Swedish language with myself as the teacher. It's all gonna be done LIVE in a e-meeting, meaning we're gonna be talking to each other through Internet (think Skype).
We're gonna be having classes once or twice every week for as long as you wish where we'll learn Swedish from the very basics to stuff we need to know to master fluency. Classes will include:
- Swedish language. - Swedish history. - Swedish culture (cuisine, people, music). - Individual assignments and group projects. - Monologues and dialogues. - Examinations.
Note: This does NOT give you any university credits or diploma. It's all for fun, okay? smile All you need to join in is a headset and broadband connection to the Internet. It's totally FREE. I'm doing this for you guys, but also to improve my teaching skills. It doesn't matter where you live, time zones we will work out. There will possibly be two groups; one Asian-Australian and one American, since I myself am currently residing in Europe.
Does this sound interesting to you? Let me know! biggrin Tell anyone who might be interested. Classes will start a.s.ap.
Ciao!

Yeah no, it's not gonna be done through SKype though, so you don't need to have that. We'll be using a programme that my school uses.
I study Chinese in university through distance learning, which means I don't need to goto school at all, because everything is done online. It's so nice and it works really well. I thought I was gonna be shy to and I hesitated to join the first class. But I did, and now it's more fun than ever. You get used to it over time. Besides, the teacher is the one mostly talking, so you'll be perfectly fine. smile

I would love to, but I would need to buy a headset (or steal my brother's...). But what program do you use? I only have internet at work (I'm here almost all day), and I have to make sure it's not something that would annoy my manager for having on this computer. Although, I could tell her it's for school. I'm going to have to download stuff for when I start my online classes in May, and she already knows that I'll be doing that anyway.

We use it in Chinese class; it's really easy to use and it's free. =D

I'd be quite happy to join in too. However, I prefer to use Linux, and looking at the Marratech page they only have .rpm files for Linux, and being that I use Ubuntu which uses .deb files, it won't work for me. I can boot into Vista, I suppose, but I'd rather not. xp

I'm considering using WiZiQ, it's got all the things we need to teach and learn (and it's free, so far). smile And you won't have to download anything, it's all on the interwebzz. biggrin Anyone interested in joining in, please send an e-mail to lardejsvenska @ gmail . com with your name and I shall sign you up.
