Helios had bored himself with that stupid runt. He had made a mistake in mentioning Ny's name to the cub because chances are the cub would run off and tell on him. Helios admired the white lioness but he was slightly afraid of her. She wasn't afraid of Kidondo and it unnerved him somewhat.
He had found himself by the waters edge, his favourite place to be. He would just lay in the water and roll around, allowing his fur to be soaked. It was wonderful, he rather liked getting wet and it amused him that so many didn't like being wet. At least it meant he had another weapon against some. Thinking about it he might go find that Runya later, she was a curious thing. He smirked at the thought of her, she was a challenge and he liked challenges.
He let out a small yawn before flopping on his side, his back paws and tail in the water and the rest of his body on the sand. The only problem with being so wet had to be the horrible way the sand stuck to you. It was really rather annoying.

Erebos was both pleased and peeved after spending the morning with Ilahle. Pleased because she, though not the one he was apprenticed to, was training him and said he was doing well. Peeved because she had mentioned Huang, her once-slave, and praised his memory. Was Erebos not stronger? Was he not faster? He was a Firekin to the very marrow of his bones and this stupid…Huang hadn’t even wanted to be one! Erebos would prove the better one day, he knew because he’d be trained as a soldier too.
Dusty, he made his way to the nearest water, intending to grab a drink. Instead he found himself his brother, enjoying the water as Helios sometimes did. Erebos didn’t mind the water himself but nor did he seek it the way his sibling did.
“Hey.” He said, with a small amused smirk.

Helios heard someone approaching but didn't bother looking up to see who it was and then as his brother spoke he just flicked his tail to show that he had heard him. He wasn't really ready to move, he was happily relaxed in a way that lions only could get away with. He turned his head towards his brother, remembering again how he would never envy his brothers blackness.
"Good morning?" He wasn't really interested as he asked and his lack of interest was apparent in his tone of voice. He was turning into a nasy thing as he grew, mostly due to his obsession with the father he would never really know. That and when your mother tells you to behave, one can't help making a pain of themselves.

“Productive.” He replied, and avoiding bothering Helios much, found a place along the waters edge to drink Because of his mostly dark fur, he tended to need more water than the lighter coloured lions sometimes. It was cooling and helped keep him fresh for yet more activities. Erebos was very active in general.
“And you?” He too, sounded lacklustre with the attention he paid his brother. Erebos loved his siblings, admired his fierce brothers and sisters. It was a bond he’d been born into, as was his love for his mother Saburi but just because he loved them didn’t mean he had to always like them or show that he gave a flick of his bloody whiskers everytime they met.

"Met the runt. The cub whos mother from the Safi died on the borders." He didn't speak of the cub nicely and he had been far from nice to the cub. He would wait for Ny to turn up and punish him, he was sure that she would. He wasn't bothered for now, the runt didn't belong here and should be told so untill he had the guts to leave.
He flicked his tail again and wondered how it was he could have a small sort of conversation with his brother but never with Anarore... in fact the two couldn't see each other without wishing to kill each other. Strange how family life can be sometimes.

“Really? Haven’t bothered yet myself.” Erebos wiped a paw over his mouth as he finished his drink and sat up. He wasn’t the most social cub really. Many of the other cubs confused him. They seemed soft sometimes, some of them, and he was always told you should remain hard on the outside. To do otherwise was to display your weaknesses. Like, playing gently and talking about their feelings. What was with that? Even his mother knew not to be so stupid in pubic and she was the nicest lioness he knew!
“You gonna laze in the water all day brother or do you wanna fight?” If they fought it was 50-50 on who’d win, they both fought like demons usually, and Erebos for one felt no real shame in possibly loosing. Helios was his brother after all. As close to himself as you could get. Didn’t mean he relished loosing though, even if it did teach you a lot.
To win was better.

"It wasn't planned I assure you. He is a stupid runt." Helios watched his brother wondering what he was thinking. He always wondered what his siblings thought and whether they were much like he was in their thinking. However when Erebos did next speak Helios smirked. That was much more like it.
"Fight? Of course, you should meet one of the regents cubs her fighting would have made you laugh." He got up and shook his fur to get rid of any loose water droplets before moving towards his brother. The fight would be interesting to say the least. It wasn't so tense with his brother as it was with Anarore, they werent trying to kill each other, just fight properly.

“Brother, many things make me laugh but poor fighting ain’t one of them.” He scoffed at the though of one of the regent’s cubs being a poor fighter. Still, he’d reserve judgement until he met her. So long as she didn’t start on about desert flowers and pretty blue skies or some girlish rubbish like that…then he’d hightail it out of there before there was even a pounce made.
Erebos prepared to fight, flexing his claws once before sheathing them. He’d use them if Helios did. His teeth however were bared and he got ready to go. Erebos didn’t fight just for fun. This was training, pure n’ simple! He wouldn’t hold back because it was ‘nice’.

"It wasn't poor fighting, it was her reasons for not fighting properly." He smirked remembering the meeting. It had confused him greatly, her reasoning for everything but he learnt to ignore it. There was no point trying to remember all of it though he hadn't really met her since so it didn't bother him.
He then moved around by his brother, he had his claws out, there was no point fighting without them in his mind. They were just as much a weapon as his teeth were and so he needed both to fight. This wasn't about winning right now, it never really was with his brother. He was training, to be the best. He looked at his brother, smirked, and leapt.

Claws out the second he spotted his brothers out before he jumped. Fight fire with fire. The only tie he ever kept his away was when he was ordered too or he was fighting one of those odd soft cubs.
Erebos had several options as Helios leapt at him. But since he’d a heavy build and had good footing, he decided to try to stand his ground. Bracing himself he got ready to try to come out of this opening well.

Helios leapt and as he did so managed to get caught by his brother. The fight continued over and over both of them gaining cuts from the other. They were use to the rough tumble that these fights involved and so after a while of fighting they seperated and stopped. The fight was a tie, there was no doubt about this.
Helios moved away from his brother, his cuts bleesing and he was heavily panting. His brother was the perfect match for him. They were evenly matched and so he was the best to train with. The fight had gone well, neither won or lost though Helios would not clean his wounds untill his brother did. He wouldn't risk his brother taking a cheap shot, he was sure he wouldn't but he wasn't about to take the chance either.

Flashing his brother a wicked grin as he too retreated a few paces, Erebos started to clean his wounds first. Erebos loved a good fight and tieing with Helios wasn’t bad. It just meant they’d both found a good sparring partner with someone they knew wouldn’t go crying to mommy over a few little cuts. What was the point of fighting if it was basically rolling around and hugging? Stupid.
“Good fight. You’ve got a strong right paw.” He complimented briefly, before turning his head to lick his shoulder where said right paw had drawn some blood. He just assumed any brother of his wouldn’t be so shamefully low as to strike while he groomed. Firekin might be fierce but they weren’t just bullying scum, he thought. They had some honour.

Helios smiled enough when his brother retreated also and so he relaxed and started to clean his own wounds. He looked at his brother a few times and smirked some more. He was happy to have fought his brother and it had been a good fight. One that he enjoyed a lot.
"You seem to have been practicing somewhat." He smirked before moving back over to the water and rolling around in it, allowing the sandy water to wash out his wounds, obviously this wouldn't clean it as well but he was lazy and would properly wash it all later.

Erebos just smirked back and gave a quick nod. He could be quite a serious youngster and practice he did.
“We should do this sparring more often. Will be good for us. Besides if there’s cubs about who won’t even draw their claws…” He suggested before tending to the last cut bad enough to warrant attention. The others he’d just leave. They weren’t deep enough for him to care right now, they could wait.

Helios looked up, "Yes maybe we should." He then let out a yawn and turned from his brother, getting out the water to lay on the sand and dry off and get some rest so that his body could heal some more. He would find Erebos or he would find him whenever they next wanted to fight, for now he wanted rest. He had a good fight and he couldn't help but smile somewhat.
Lady Mercy
With a languid stretch, Erebos moved a few feet to the nearest bit of scrub so he could have a bit of sparse shade. There he lay, stretched and gave the sand a bit of a claw until it was comfy. There he’d nap.
