The Story
Long Ago, in the Land of Elasia, the elements were balanced. At the center of this balance was a Queen and every generation a new queen would be born, to any one but she was known by the silver marks that decorated her body when she was born, they faded after a few hours but before that time was up she was usually already on her way to the palace. As one queen died at the very same instant another was born. The entirety of magic was centered within her. All power flowed to her and through her, purifying itself and empowering her. And she could control all four elements, unlike the rest of the world, those who could only control one.
The Wind It was the High Mage of the Council of Elements that represented the Wind, who first began what would grow to become a bloody revolution. He felt uneasy about the fact that their Queen, who was not only a child, but was more powerful then any of them.
The Fire It was the Fire Lord, the Guard of the Queen herself who was first convinced to stage a rebellion against their Lady. She had turned him aside when he had made plays at her preferring to keep to herself.
The Water The Water Masters were less easily swayed from their point of veiw but with both the Wind Mages and the Fire Mages goading and prodding them, they finally were convinced of the folly of letting one girl, no more then a child rule of much stronger and wiser men such as themselves.
The Earth The Earth Mages would have no part in it, but nor would they stop it, they left it all up to fate and prayed for peace in the end.
[The Day of the Attack]
The Lady Silver Lady Aria sat beside her scrying dish in her tower looking up at the stars and letting a single tear fall down her cheek. She was no more then 14 years old and already burdened with all the knowledge of all those who had come before her. The generations of Ladies of Silver weighed heavily on a young girl's heart, and she waited knowing what was to come and helpless to stop it. She did not mourn the loss of her own life more then a moment, it was the destruction these idiots would wreck with their ignorance that made her cry. And so she sat in waiting. As those who saught to destroy her entered the room she stood and pronounced her curse. Not as much a curse as a promise, "You will destory me and in doing so destroy the balance, you may rule, but the power will fade, without someone to purify and cleanse it and bring it into balance it will diminish, but I sware to you you will be the last of your kind, no more will magic be so strong until My Sucessor comes again... Guarded by the four elements themselves." she said and was shortly there after killed, struck through the heart with a sword. And before she could even be born they killed the child who would have been born the next Silver.
The Wind The winds faded, no longer did they carry voices to their mages, not longer did they bear the spoken word of everyone from all of time, they simply blew leaves on the trees, nothing more. No longer the keepers of all knowledge.
The Fire Fire instead of staying peacefully in the hearth and warming through the winters, it caught to the forests occasionally, or got lose from it keepers and destroyed. No longer did it burn solely to keep people safe and warm, it now leanred to destory once it had lost its soul. The magic it had once had faded.
The Water No matter how pure a spring, not matter how clean the rain, it was some how less, an essence of magic was gone that left even the water tasting stale and unenticing, seerers became rarer as their element diminished and they had nothing to look through.
The Earth Last and most stalwart, the land simply died from lack of power from the others, what had been the stablest of the four was not the one that was dying the slowest but in a way dragging all the rest down with it.

The Power of Silver The power has faded each generation weaker then the one before since the Silver Lady was killed. The Four Mages who killed her now are the most powerful people left in the land and even those who remain don't have the power to stop them from doing whatever they please.
The Silver Daughter foretold to be born will simply become the balance and wherever she goes power will return to how it was. she will purify the power there is left and by combining itself within her, the power will blossom and reflect back all the more powerfully.
Wind Mages The Communicators, the spies. The wind carries their words to those who need to hear them, and carries those words they need from other's lips to their own ears. They can also minuplate the winds themselves to form sounds and send them, or draw the air out of an area in essance eing able to suffocate someone or something.
Fire Mages The Fighters, the destroyers, what were once people who ruled the hearth and kept the house peaceful, now must be the warriors sent first into battle. They can manipulate fire at will, but they cannot create it from nothing they have to have at least a spark to begin with.
Water Mages The Seerers, the tacticians, they can see through the waters they enchant either, the past, the present, or the future, one venue is open to them, and they can control what they see, though the future is unstable and can be one of many paths rather then a single path like the present or the past.
Earth Mages The Healers, the growers, they can control plants and communicate with animals, and heal. It is their powers that back the others, suplimenting the more practical elements of battle but in the same way not pratical for fighting.

Bio: The son of the water leader, he was only five when his father murdered the Queen of Silver, or rather liberated the nations according to his father's views. Being gifted with the powers of foresight, Kristan can see events of the future, or rather the many possibilities. In these potential futures, he sees a desolate land where nothing lives. In others, he sees a golden paradise, a nation of perfect harmony. Seeing these futures has led him to believe that killing the queen was a terrible mistake. Most of his seeing's come in the form of dreams. When he was five, he had nothing but good dreams, telling of prosperity and peace. On the night of the dear Silver Queen's murder, Kristan was struck by a terrible nightmare, a dream so horrific he could not fall back asleep, and refused to sleep for the next week, till he collapsed from exhaustion. Believing that a great wrong was preformed, he tried to help his father realize the next queen, whom he had seen in a dream. Instead of realizing her as the true Queen, the next Queen of the Silver, him and the other two of the revolt killed her, before she could even be born. Not knowing of these events, or not believing of them, Kristan believes his father still wishes for the best of the people, though he has been given much doubt, as he never saw the Queen from his dreams ever again. Kristan now believes that the Queen of Silver is the only hope for the golden lands of his dreams to come true, and currently scrys for her, and to protect this queen from his father and the four. For this, he works in shadows, within the palace itself. Personality: Rather shy and doesn't want confrontation, he has silently dedicated himself to protecting the new Queen, and is preparing a way for her return. He knows she lives, and has not informed his father, now knowing the truth of his former prediction. Unlike himself, his father has a gift to see into the past. Always certain of himself, Kristan sometimes make mistakes from his arrogance of knowing the potential futures. Element: Water Powers: Primarily a visionary. He can see the many potential futures, though he can usually tell the strongest possibility, he sometimes can not. Strength of Power: He is very powerful in his element, like his father and his father's father before him. There is a reason his family has been the leaders of the water nation for a long time, and Kristan is next in succession. Beloved: None as of yet, but Kristen is willing to leave his love to fate... for the moment. Username (Gaian): Nathaniel_the freak Character Name: Nathaniel Ferenczy Age: 22 Appearance: Occuaption: Healer. Bio: Nathaniel's parents were killed by a powerful Fire Mage, who attacked the village he was living in, when he was two years old. He was adopted by an old swordsman who taught him how to fight and helped him hone his Healing abilities. For a while he was, well, if not happy, then content, to let the old man turn him into a force to be reckoned with. Two years into the training he voiced his intention to kill the Fire Mage who had killed his parents. The old man forbade it, fearing for his 'son's' life. After a huge fight between the two, both holding back slightly, having no desire to hurt the other, Nathaniel fell, and left, a week later, deciding to travel. During his travels he built a list of contacts, which he used to find the Fire Mage. The battle lasted a long time but, at last, Nathan was defeated. Just as the Mage stepped forward to strike the final blow, the old man blew down the gate of the fortress and swept Nathaniel away. Nathaniel woke up three weeks later, still completely exhausted, but at the words 'I'm proud of you' his training began again. At the age of 19 the old man died, and Nathaniel has been mourning him since. Since then Nathaniel's powers have been abnormally strong, as if he inherited the man's power. Nathaniel believed that this was a sign, as if the old man was guiding him, and he felt drawn to help other people, those less fortunate, as the man had done to him. Finding a forest near a poor village he built himself a small fortress and heals the animals of the forest and villagers, free of charge, where he resides now. Though there have been whispers of a powerful woman who would act as an equilibrium, who he would follow, if given the chance, to save his people. Personality: Nathan is quiet, and calculates everything he does before he does it. While he usually hides behind his facade of quiet seriousness he can be compassionate and full of love. 100% devoted to everything he does and all his friends and allies, he can be over-protective. Very calm. Element: Earth. Powers: Healing. Strength of Power: He is very strong thanks to old man. Beloved: None Allies to the Princess The Four Mages Who Banished the Silver Before Allies to the Four Mages

Nathaniel stood in the doorway of his small house, panting. A bag slung over his back, his hair matted with sweat. He was dressed in black, cloth, with brown leather boots and a black cloth jacket which reached just above his ankles. He looked down at his patient and his piercing green eyes lightened. He permitted himself a smile, "You're going to be fine." He whispered to the small, red haired girl lying in the bed, her cheeks a fiery red, standing out against her pale face, her eyes were sunken and she was sweating. He tossed the bag onto a table and pulled out several different herbs, a pestle and mortar and a vial of yellow liquid. The village had been attacked by bandits several days ago and he, after being one of the men who fought to defend the village, had healed all of the wounded villagers this girl had gotten a strange fever, and one of her wounds had become infected. He'd managed to heal the wound, killing bacteria and knitting flesh back together, but had been unable to cure the fever, which had become stronger. He had left the village the night before last and had began travelling, by foot, up a mountain to find the several herbs he needed. As Nathan began to make the medicine he thought back to his short trip. After seven hours of almost completely vertical climbing he had come across a camp and recognised the symbol on several banners planted in the ground. It was the remaining bandits. Trying to sneak around was futile, he realised, as the bandits awoke just as he was making his escape, and attacked. The fight didn't last long, as Nathaniel promptly charged the leader, sword flailing. The katana, black hilted, perfect weight and glistening in the moonlight, had belonged to his dead master and he polished it almost every day. As much as he detested weaponry, it was necessary in the defense of his people. Nathan spun, dodging a hand axe and countered with a round house kick, catching the man in the jaw, which gave a sickening crack. He was surrounded, but some of the bandits looked apprehensive, and Nathan knew how to use that. He charged at the centre, making a slight movement every so often, and swung the katana. The blade left a deep red line in a man's bare arm. The man made a noise of surprise and Nathan danced past him, swinging his foot backwards, pushing off the man, hurtling towards the leader. The leader was obvious as he was standing behind the others, arms crossed, wearing expensive jewellry. He growled as Nathan moved towards him, blade in hand, and a wisp of flame soared towards him from a nearby torch. Nathan pushed his feet into the ground, stopping then threw himself to the left, rolling into a crouch and pulsing forward. He jumped, still flying towards the man and hit him in the temple with the butt of his sword. He landed on his feet and turned around, dramatically, his jacket whirling around him. The other bandits looked at one another and fled. "Cowards," Nathan whispered, before running in the other direction. By sunrise he was healing himself every half an hour, his legs screaming in pain, and fatigue weighing him down. After healing himself so much he'd have to rest for a few days to regain his true strength. The mountains scenery had changed as he got higher, from rocks and a few thin trees to huge pines, an entire forest of them, stretching forever. By the afternoon he was hurtling down the mountain, healing himself as he went, the scenery rushing past him as he dodged roots and low branches, sweat pouring from his face. As well as bringing the herbs he had brought seeds, deciding to farm the herbs, not wanting to make this trip again. Now, as night fell, he was standing in the small tree-house, the breeze cooling him, expertly preparing medicine for the girl.

Kristan watched the scene happen through the water in the elaborate dish set before him on a pedestal. Though his clouded eyes couldn't really see the dish, or anything else around him for that matter, he could see the water, and the images that played across the surface. A sickly girl, in the care of a fierce warrior.
For some reason, Kris felt that this vision meant something. One of the people in this pool of water was needed for the future. As he seemed to be needed for the golden future he has foreseen. That future, along with the one of total destruction, balanced on a knife's edge. He did not see any other futures, besides different versions of the same dread and death.
Touching the surface of the water lightly Kris caused ripples in the water. The image changed, to that of another. It was himself. He was watching himself. He already knew he was important to the golden future of peace. It was strange tough, to see oneself. It was even stranger to see one self when you couldn't see. Silently, Kris laughed at the concept. He was blind, yet half the staff believed he was faking it. He knew the palace that was his home. He reacted to the servants before they could respond. He could see them when they thought they where hidden.
This was all his gift. Though he didn't see them himself, he saw what they might do. Rarely was he wrong. No. Never has he been wrong. He was only wrong when he wanted to be.
A servant walked next to him, a cup being offered. "Thanks. I wonder Gulan. Do you have the power of foresight as well?" Kris took the offered cup, as though he could see it himself. He might be blind, but he could still see.
Gulan stifled a laugh from the comment. "Hardly sir. You know your humble servant contains no magic." Gulan smile at Kris. She was his best friend, in his dark and lonely world. She knew her role in his life, and had been able to read him like a book sense she was still young and learning her role as his servant. She also knew she would die. Kris told her so on the first day she met him. She could remember it like it was yesterday;
Standing in the garden, Gulan watched as her master, a youth no older than she was, stared at nothing. Calling out, her master tried to stand. Falling over as he hit a branch in the head, Gulan broke protocol her teacher had told her and touch his body without permission.
"Your going to die, " her master said. Of course she would. She knew that. To touch royalty without permission was punishable by death. She would die by days end. Instead, the boy continued, "but not for this." He had a smile on his face, his cloudy blue eyes staring blankly at her. "Will you be my friend?"
From that day, she was his servant. He specifically called for her out of all the others. Their roles had become servant/master to friends. She knew what would happen to her one day. She asked him several times over the years, but her response was always the same, 'We all die someday. At least I knew when and how. I am happy.' And that she was. She had a role in the golden future Kris had seen so many times. She wished he could show her what he saw, as she wished she could show him what she saw. Neither was possible, but she would love to see this golden future one time before she died.

Nathan smiled as he woke up, lying against his jacket and jumped to his feet. He felt rejuvanated and the crick in his neck had finally gone. He couldn've just healed it, he thought, but too much healing was bad for a person's body. He smiled, looking at the girl from across the room. She was a little less pale and her breathing had steadied. Over the next hour, Nathan spent his time baking rolls, which were growing in a make-shift oven when the girl awoke. "Hello," Nathan smiled at her, "How did you sleep?" "W-well.." She sounded tired, she hadn't slept in four days because the illness had kept her on the brink of consciousness. "The medicine is working. You're getting stronger," He smiled, "Would you like to feed the animals with me?" The girl smiled, excitedly, and nodded. He tapped a bowl of water on the bed side table and quickly swept out the door and down a rope. Ten minutes later the girl crept down the ladder, "OK, I'm ready!" She smiled. Nathan nodded, "Follow me, Isla, and be quiet." She nodded, excitedly and Nathan lifted a bag of meat, vegetables and other pieces of food, slung it over his shoulder and began to tread into the forest. The sun was up by now and was bathing the forest in a golden glow. The breeze from the night before was gone and the air was warm, slightly humid. Nathan smiled as they entered a clearing. He turned the bag upside down and waited. Not long later a pack of silvery-grew pelted wolves entered the clearing. Isla gasped and began to step backwards but Nathan took her hand and lifted some of the meat up, holding it out to the wolves. They snatched it then stalkedback, forming a small circle. He handed some to Isla and she hesitantly held out her hand. A tiny cub tripped towards her and took some of the meat from her hands. She giggled and knelt down and began to stroke it, beaming.

Days after Kris's reading from the water, Gulan showed up in the forest of her target. "He has to be here somewhere. Kris is never wrong about these things." She turned her head, and saw water soldiers matching. They were on the move to stop the queen. Kris knew who and where the queen was, but refused to tell his father. It was admirable with how much he loves his father that he doesn't tell him.
Reeling her thoughts back in, Gulan pulled out a note. In Kris's handwriting was written instructions: "Go through a goat path to the left."
It was a simple instruction, but finding this 'goat path' was difficult. Looking to the left of her position, he noticed a parting of grass, leading into the forest. That must be the path he was referring to! Bravely, he started to walk onto the path, soon coming across a clearing. Some wolves where feeding, no, where being fed by someone. Could he be the target? She didn't know. Once again, she wished she could see the same as her master, Kris.
The foot falls of soldiers could be heard nearby. They must have found this mans forest home by now. Having little time to spare, Gulan started to wave her hands. She didn't want to shout, for the soldiers could possibly hear her. If she could just get the other people over here to talk, she could take them to safety.

The wolves sniffed the air, turned and fled, the cub scampering after them. Nathan looked up to see a woman frantically waving her hands and drew his katana, his eyes looking past the woman. "Do you know your way to my home?" He asked Isla, out of the side of his mouth. She nodded, taking a few steps backwards then turning and running. Nathan straightened then charged, full pelt towards the woman, past her and standing at the top of a small cliff face, where he could be easily seen, but arrows would have a hard time striking him. He quickly jumped, impaling the sword in the soft clay cliff-face. He slowly slid down. When he reached the bottom the Water soldiers were all standing with their weapons pointed at him. A ghost of a smile reached his face. He stepped into the semi-circle, against the cliff and his eyes fell on one man, on a horse, holding a spear with the Water emblem. "Leave my forest at once," Nathan whispered, "Or face the consequences."

"You are charged with treason to the Water Nation. Either come with us, or we will presume you are guilty and you shall be killed here. The choice is yours." The soldier stated. You could tell how this was going to work by looking at the soldier. They would kill him anyway, weather he surrendered or not.
Meanwhile, Gulan stood her ground as the person she was told to protect ran by him, sword out and at the ready. She started to pull her own weapons out, but didn't have enough time to get them out. He closed her eyes, expecting the pain of a sword in her gut, but when she opened them, she wondered where the man was. She looked around, and saw him on top of a clay cliff face. The man seemed to have a death wish, but Kris wouldn't have sent her out here if he was to die here. However, Kris did mention that the girl might have some importance as well, as they appeared in the same vision to him.
Turning around, Gulan decided to leave the crazy man to himself, as she went and recovered the girl. Running through the forest, he saw smoke hover in the background. When she came upon the mans house, she saw the soldiers grabbing the girl by the arm. Quickly Gulan brought out a pipe, and loaded a poison dart into it. Blowing hard, she hit the soldier in the neck. The man grabbed the dart and pulled it free, only to slump onto the ground a moment later. His breath as still steady, as he was but asleep.
Running up to the girl, Gulan spoke, "Come with me. You're in danger." She extended her hand to the girl, to help her off the ground.

Nathan growled, spinning the sword as two men charged at him, both weilding heavy axes. He jumped upwards, doding the low swipes then swung the katana, killing both men as the blade slashed their throats. He heard a scream. Isla. He landed, knowing there was another cliff just around that corner. He charged, swinging the sword, blocking every attack made against him, slinking past the men and jumping. He landed beside a river and began to run, using his healing powers to keep his temperature down. Seeing the woman from earlier holding her hand out to Isla he rested the blade on her shoulder. "And you are...?" An arrow missed him by inches and he spun around, dropping into a stance, the katana held in front of him in both hands. "Take Isla somewhere safe." He whispered, as the men began to charge towards him. He closed his eyes, relaxed his breathing.. And struck! ((Soz for short posts.))

Gulan reached down, and picked up the girl by the arm. Then grabbing her by the other arm, she swung the child onto her back. "Your safer up there." Gulan explained. The girl's shoulder might hurt for a while, as Gulan wasn't taking pleasantries at the moment, as she had roughly picked her up.
By the point, the flames of the house had truly caught. The roof was on fire, as well as the walls. "You have nothing else here. Come with me, I know how to protect you." He pulled a wooden case out of her pocket. "Catch!" She yelled, throwing the tube with accuracy at the man. "It will explain everything, and where to meet me later!" She was off at a run, swiftly disappearing into the forest.
It wasn't till some time passed did she stop at a river bank. She pulled out another letter. In the same handwriting was written: "Don't stop at the north side of the river bank. Go to the other side and wait in the cave." Looking up at the child, she spoke. "I'm sorry for being so rough on you. Time wasn't plentiful back there. My name is Gulan. I'm here to help." She took a step into the river. The water was cold, but only made it up to her ankles so far. "There is a cave around here, keep an eye open for it please." She meanwhile was watching her own footing, and keeping an eye out for any patrols in the area. According to Kris, at this point, she should be safe till she made it to the cave.

Nathan stepped out of the way as several blades struck the ground, where he'd been seconds before. He swung his fist, catching one of the men in the face and stood on the weapons. The men all pulled back at once, flinging him over their heads. He landed and rolled, grabbing the leader's foot from where he sat on his horse. Nathan spun the sword just as the man fell, the blade slicing through his right arm. The man stood up, looking completely enraged. Suddenly a huge orb of water appeared, water from the air. First a small lash dripped down and covered the wound, then the water began to spurt at Nathan, who quickly rolled out of the way. He pounced and swung, the blade slicing across the man's chest. He fell, the water evaporating. The others charged, just as the house fell, right in front, or on top of, the Water soldiers. Nathan began to run, charging through long grass and forestry, dodging trees as he went. Seeing the woman Nathan tossed the small tube to the side. "Guess that was useless. Isla. Come to me," He whispered, holding out his hands. ((Damn writer's block.))

Gulan continued across the river. Eventually, it deepened to her thighs before it started shallowing out again. Stepping to the other side, she saw the cave herself. She had learned long ago to trust Kris with his prediction. Just as she knew she would die to bring what he called the 'golden future' into being.
She placed the girl onto the ground, gently this time around. The man who followed must have been an idiot to be shouting at a time like this. He must also be skilled to have escaped the soldiers so easily. Grabbing for her own container of notes, she read the next one. It was one word; "Stay"
"We need to stay here for a while. The soldiers wont find us here." She then looked at the man. Where was his own note tube? "Sir, were did the wooden tube I gave you go?" The fool probably didn't understand the importance of the tube! The notes inside spoke of the future! Raged flashed through her, but she was skilled enough to keep it inside. Her appearance from the outside was that of calm. You didn't work for royalty and not learn the skill of hiding what you think.

Isla slowly walked towards him. He scrutinized her, making sure she hadn't been hurt and turned, "Stay here." He quickly crossed the river again, finding the tube, and nodded. He walked back, his hand on the hilt of his blade, the other hand trailing through the water. "You still haven't told me your name." Nathan held up the tube. He blinked, then smirked, "Don't hide what you think of me from me. I know you believe I'm just a smelly Earth hermit, and.." He blinked, there was something else. After living with the man so long he had learned a great deal of how to empathize. It was like.. Like she had resigned her self to a death she'd been ordered to die. He swept towards her. "What is it?" "Are you.. Sick?" Suddenly he had a thought. What if she was a Water fugitive, on the run? He would definitely not turn her in to the royals.. He only actually hated the Fire kingdom. But still, it's not as if any of the others did anything for the Earth kingdom. The only neutral kingdom.
