“I knew that I had come face to face with some one whose mere personality was so fascinating that, if I allowed it to do so, it would absorb my whole nature, my whole soul, my very art itself.” -Oscar Wilde

PART I. PHYSICAL

Full name:: Tieg Maelstrom
Reasons for the name(s):: Tieg, meaning handsome, Maelstrom by himself meaning a hurricane.
Date of Birth/Apparent Age/Approximate Age:: December 12 is his hatch date. He looks to be in his twenties, but in reality he's 32. He usually acts 16.
If he/she was alive during the masacres, was he/she bonded? To whom? Nope. He's a third generation.
Rank:: Olplyn
If a Daewl, what is his/her one power?:: n/a
Skin Tone:: Pale and fair by nature, more normal caucasian due to exposure.
Height:: 5'9
Weight/Body Build:: Lanky and lean, you might even be able to call him stringy. He's got strong arms and a pliant body, rounding him about 140lbs in the weight department.
Hair:: Black and longish for a male (about shoulder length), wavy and a little curly at the ends. He keeps it pulled back in a ponytail. Always looks a little oily.
Eyes:: Bright orange
Ear colours/markings:: Black
Tail colours/markings:: Black and white, ringed. All markings based off a ring-tailed lemur.
Peculiar Physical Traits:: None
Distinguishing Marks:: Black rings around his eyes.
Health:: Wonderful. He hasn't had anything more than the sniffles in all his life.
Senses:: His eyesight and attention to detail are pretty remarkable. His hearing is keen when he chooses to use it, as in picking up private conversations or muttered curses, but he becomes temporarily deaf when his sister is yelling at him. Also, his sense of taste is sharp enough for him to pick out many if not all ingredients in a concoction, as well as too delicate to allow him to eat many of the more spicy delicacies out there.
Voice:: Tenor and lilting in normal conversation, alto when he puts his little-girl voice on for mocking his darling sister and anyone else who warrants it.
Mannerisms:: Tieg moves in rapid, fleeting motion when he's truly at work and the gears of his brain are spinning. He makes even more difficult tasks seem effortless, being highly dexterous and quick-thinking. And if he's familiar with what he's doing, it's just ridiculous. When he's excited, or scared, he jitters and can't seem to stay in one place. When in a relaxed or normal setting for him, he seems very laid back and full of swagger. He's very playful, and often speaks to individuals like they're best friends even if they've only just met or he's trying to make a sale. Because friends take care of friends, right? And he's never met a girl he didn't at least try to talk into a whirlwind debauchery. Of course, he has his moods, times where he's unwilling to work and times where he's less than sweet, but generally he's quite perky and more than a little juvenile.
Clothes/shoes/accessories:: He doesn't have to follow any specific dress code other than an over all semi-casual theme. A simple tunic will suffice if he has to wear a shirt at all (he prefers not). Whatever pants are in season. He likes to wear what fits him and what makes him look the most trim and stylish, if there is such a thing, while also having to do minimal work. Usually carrying his tool belt, a strap of leather fashioned to hold his various tools he needs when out repairing things (and, ehem, managing his inventions). Sometimes goes a little crazy and threads beads here and there in his hair and tail.
Eating habits/mannerisms/tastes:: Tieg is more of a grazer type than he is one to indulge in full meals. He loves fruit, especially the more exotic kind like mangos if he can ever get them. Also, any type of nut. He has a habit of keeping a bag of cashews or a substitute in his pocket and munches on them in the middle of work or whatever else he's doing. He can't eat many spicy things, or anything with too much salty preservatives. Anything else, he's probably at least willing to try.

PART II. GENERAL

Occupation/Social Status in Rank:: Tieg is a blacksmith, just as his father was, and his father before that. The boy showed promise at a very young age, a genius at working the metal even if he had to start out small for lack of strength. His inventiveness gave rise to a shock of new designs in both weapons and household items. However, more often than not these designs were not always the most practical nor cost effective, and soon he began to be dissuaded from experimenting altogether. Much to his father's chagrin, Tieg's motivation to do his job dropped steeply, and he had to move the boy to shop front service for a while taking orders down for the rest of the workshop while a war waged behind the doors of home. A compromise was made, and now Tieg only works custom orders along with managing the shop. He has up an ongoing challenge that states that if he fails to make an order to its exact specifications, providing that he accepts that it's feasible, the customer can have his week's pay or their order for free providing they give Tieg more time to fix his mistakes. The Olplyn also takes on jobs as a repairman, unofficially and freelance. Works closely with his sister, Narcissa, when dealing with things like armor that needs to match clothes (she's a tailor).
Views on Rank responsibilites:: It's not hard to see that Tieg and his job have a love-hate relationship. The Olplyn can be terribly fickle with it, and his capricious nature sometimes sends him slipping out of the shop and off to something 'fun'. Tieg doesn't really see his job as any more than an interest that gets him money, and when the interest goes, usually so does he. So far he's managed to cover at least the minimum amount of work, and his family does cover for him, mainly for the profit he rakes in (and to hold it over his head later) and a whole lot to do with the fact they wouldn't give up one of their own to a Sargtlin or Uuthli. Because the business has a good handful of workers, it's hard to point a finger at Tieg when the quota has been made. Perhaps one day he'll be caught, perhaps never. He's smart enough to only bother others on his off time.
Education/ Intelligence:: Like any other Olplyn, Tieg is incredibly intelligent. From as early as Ust his mother was home tutoring he and his sister every day, and when he became a Drada, he was taken in as an apprentice at the shop. He was raised to have a very cynical outlook on life, and while some of it has stuck with him, Tieg's nature was always a more fun-loving and free one. His parents shook their heads and tried to mold and control him like they did everything else, but he proved stubborn then and he definitely does now. Tieg's intuitive and inventive, and while he's been learned in the ways of old art and sophistication, he prefers to use his wit and charm as opposed to logic and formality. His parents are quite disappointed that he chooses to be more of a clown than a conniver.
Marital Status:: Way too flaky to be anything but single.
Political Thoughts/ Views of Ranks and Vhaid:: Perhaps surprising compared to the rest of his family, Tieg isn't biased among ranks. He uses them as a sort of... guideline, but not something written in stone. Olplyn? Competition, lying and rotten sons of bitches, but know how to live. Sargtlins? Assholes. Flaming assholes. Potential fun if they can't shoot arrows or throw knives after you. Uuthli? Flaming assholes with wings, generally, mixed nuts. Daewl? Dangerous, bound to be interesting. Afya? Usually a bunch of dunces, but great to party with. Vhaid? Self-important, over-inflated bastards, but usually have a sense of humor. Hey, the ranks and the stereotypes don't come out of thin air. He doesn't feel at all bad thinking that way, especially since he'll talk to anyone who walks into the shop or who looks interesting no matter what the rank. He's not bias. As far as politics goes, it's all over his head and doesn't concern him... until it does. The council rules have made him do a lot of hiding, but the only protest he could ever think of it would be for allowance to leave the forest. He feels trapped at times, thinks the things about safety and fellowship are pretty damn bogus. Why can't they go outside into the rest of the world? It's been centuries now, why are they still hiding?
Beliefs/ Values/ Strength of Beliefs:: Tieg believes in technology. There! It's finally been said! He'd never divulge it to anyone he knows right now, but he wants to create something no one ever has before. He loves to repair things, and even more he likes to take the current bits of technology (printing press, clocks) apart to see how they work. He wants to examine and improve things. He believes that an updated system could do everyone some good, and it's enough of a passion that he builds things in the comfort of his own home, hoping to one day have something he could present with confidence to the council. He does not believe that the world he has grown up in would accept the change that he wishes to make to it by words alone. He sees his fellow Jivvins as very simple folk, a culture that is secure with its simple mechanisms. If he could just come up with something to wow the others, something that everyone could agree would help them... then he wouldn't mind letting his hobby be known. But right now he is actually afraid of dejection like what he got from his parents when he was younger, so he keeps this all a secret.

He doesn't believe in having to do something you can't have fun doing. He likes to make his work light-hearted, games out of boring conversation. He's very sure his attempts are very under-appreciated in the company he often has to keep. But he also believes that, if he's clever enough, he can get away with anything without rattling the cage of rocking the boat too devastatingly. He believes, knows that as long as he has his talent and keeps it above ordinary means, he will have to be tolerated. Walking the line is a dangerous game, but it keeps him satisfied in what he believes his personal prison. Yes, he may be able to leave the village, but the truth is he doesn't think it'd benefit him no matter how 'bored' he is. Tieg thrives on those around him just as much as he relies on his own hands. He's afraid to go, afraid to be accepted into a new world where his hands are empty. He dreams one day he will go anyway, but he keeps hoping for something that makes him content in the world he already lives.
What is his/her usual disposition?:: Casual, somehow welcoming and daring all the same. He speaks with a smirk and watches for opportunities without knowing what he really wants. Oftentimes whacky if he can manage it. Very capricious.
Optimist/ Pessimist? :: Optimist
Confident/Self-conscious? :: Definitely confident and cocksure.
How does he/she feel about his/her appearance? :: He's pretty sure he looks downright sexy, anytime, all the time. Maybe he can look a little frazzled and unkempt at times, but he's pretty sure he keeps an impressive appearance in whatever he's in.
Most important possession:: His tool belt.
Talents :: Climbing trees, solving puzzles, slight of hand (he is especially good with coin tricks) making use out of junk, pressing 'buttons' and making a general nuisance of himself.
What is a normal day like for this Jivvin?:: Rolls out of bed and starts the day with a healthy, wholesome breakfast, usually jam on whole-grain bread. Swings into the shop, usually on time, arranges the storefront by whim, and waits on customers to come in. If it's a slow day, he slips out the back and goes to bother her sister at HER job at the clothing shop nearby. If she's being catty he goes into the surrounding wood and hangs out in the treetops avoiding the patrol. He's snacking throughout the day, so there's no real lunch break. Checks in at the shop and sits out the final hours of the work day, then closes up and leaves to mingle in the village for the rest of the day. Comes home at night and pulls out his latest project to tinker with until he's tired and goes to sleep again. Tieg really kinda takes things day-by-day, so there leaves a lot of room for him to be called away for repair work or maybe the whim to go and pick something special up for himself. Or he may just leave. A lot of room to be distracted. But if he actually has an order he needs to be working on, he works diligently.
What is a normal rainy day like for this Jivvin?:: He doesn't even go into work, maybe goes and hangs out in a local pub or wherever he can successfully chillax throughout the day. Or he'll stay inside and try to come up with more ideas.
Greatest Fear:: Angry women, like, REALLY angry women. Holy s**t.
What does he/she want most?:: To either leave the village and have a look at the outside world or to have his true ideas of technology accepted. He's pretty sure the latter will never happen.

Major Goals::
1. Make a successful product even his parents will endorse.
2. Maintain his lifestyle running just under the radar.
3. Find a fellow conspirator, maybe even a casual relationship.

PART III. RELATIONSHIPS

Significant Other/Relationship:: None insofar because I'm not clever enough to come up with anything. I'm sure he's had some trysts, but none that ever worked into 'mate' status. Tieg is a vivacious flirt, but unsurprisingly reluctant to commit.
Who does he/she live with?:: He's living on his own right now, out of necessity. Sometimes he'll stay over at his parents', preferring to take conflict that way rather than his own home. He hardly has visitors, at least none he allows beyond his living room. Lives in a small house at the edge of a neighborhood.
Who does he/she spend the most time with?:: Strangers. Either customers in the shop or fellow villagers that he chooses to accompany (or bother) on any given day. When he's not working he prefers to be beyond the reach of his family.
Father/Relationship with him/Rank/Current Status:: Maveric, Olplyn, was the young successor of the legacy that his father started when the village was first erected. He is a blacksmith as well as the entrepreneur of the shop, clever and hungry for success. He is not beyond questionable means of action when it comes to making sure his family stays on top of the smithery business and he has enough material and individuals to work with. Tieg's relationship with his father is strained now at best, because while Tieg came out to be as talented as his father could hope for, he's also a loose cannon beyond the elder's immediate control. Along with his wife, Maveric keeps the boy out of trouble while also holding his mistakes and debacles over his head. However, should Tieg be desperate enough, he's a huge source of wealth and one he knows he can work with tit for tat.
Mother/Relationship with her/Rank/Current Status:: Nyss, Olplyn, is as cunning as her husband and perhaps twice as ruthless when it comes to getting what she wants. She manages a clothing store close to the shop of a family she married into. In fact, it was the whole reason she and Maveric became mates in the first place, to combine success, and only much later realized they were two of a kind. Tieg feels just as secure with her as he does his father, but she can be soft when he's in her favor, like any mother should. There is something decidedly wicked about her, and deep in his heart he fears her. However, now that he's older he feels like he can stand up to her and win. Keeps a good distance from the reach of her hands, though.
Siblings/Ranks/Current Status:: Narcissa, Olplyn, alive and well and working as a tailor in a clothing store her mother runs. She's a two-faced girl, smiling in your face one moment and snarking behind your back in the next. Tieg both hates and adores his sister, and they clash and connect rather well. He knows he can never trust or count on her to do anything beyond her benefit, but she's great for a laugh or a battle of wits and they will look out for one another outside of the family. A vain gossiper, Narcissa is a lot like her brother in that she has her own fickleness to deal with, mostly in Jivvins. Depending on their moods, they can make beautiful collaborations or spend the day nattering at each other.
Best Friend/Rank/Current Status:: Tieg doesn't have a best friend as of yet. He has a lot of friendly acquaintances and no one he can trust outside of fraternizing.
Feelings toward animals:: He could take them or leave them. They're just fine when he's not having to take care of them.
How does he/she view his/her family?:: Oh boy. Well, on one hand he's thankful that his parents keep him out of trouble, on the other he despises them for trying to use him. He tries to forgive them by writing it off as their nature, and he tries to love them even if he almost never agrees with them. He really has to adore his sister for how horrible she is, and how weak she can be. They were raised together, he feels a fellowship with her even if he'd never admit it. She's the one he can truly have some sort of feeling for without trying, and he'd be there for her if he could afford to. He doesn't leave her alone as it is. But if it was him or them, the choice should be obvious.
How does he/she view his/her friends?:: He views his 'friends' as people that make the time pass, creatures he can amuse himself with. None he would actually do anything for without a cost.
How does his/her family view him/her?:: His parents view him as an... endorsement, if you will. To be honest, the appearance of the children were a bit unexpected but were well-received when the time came around. They were meant to be heirs that would take on both businesses when the time came for them to inherit it, and little else. They were supposed to be just like their parents, think like their parents, do the will of their parents, bring glory to their family. Tieg has become a disappointment in that the boy is completely unstable. When denied his tinkering, he threw a tantrum that inconvenienced all the plans the parents had set down. But they weren't going to have their materials used for Tieg's fantasies (though ironically he steals them anyway) and after a huge bout of fighting Olplyn-style set him on his current job. They consider it a punishment. Maveric is too worried to make a definite claim that Tieg will be the one to inherit the shop, as the boy doesn't show any of the ambition that he does. However, his work is impeccable, and that is something they'd like to keep at all costs. He's an irritation otherwise, quite frankly he's a brat.

As far as Narcissa goes, she's hot and cold. One moment she can't stand being without him to whisper nasty things to about the customers, the next she's dreading the time for when he pokes his head in to annoy her. She envies her brother- he's handsome and talented and smart. While she got all the mannerisms down pat, and her parents' favor, she gets very little attention from her family and her looks aren't all that incredible either. She feels like she got the short end of the stick, but with a personality like Tieg's she can't help but grudgingly cheer him on.
How does his/her friends view them?:: Tieg's is an engaging, in-your-face personality. Opinions seem to form from that fact. He seems to be a bit mad, a bit wild in the way that you want to be swept along with him. When he speaks to you, it feels like you're sharing secrets. He's a hard one to get a hold of- he can hold a long conversation and still leave one wondering. Some like the unpredictable, some don't. Obviously his 'friends' enjoy his company and insight.
Who is his/her hero?:: He doesn't really have one, but he does have a decent amount of respect for Kyros, the Vhaid council member. Even though he's young, he's a born leader. Tieg is impressed with him.

His family has a tradition of being blacksmiths? All Olplyns? It seems odd, to me at least, that Sargltins and Uuthli's would accept their swords as 'well made' from them, as they generally disliked the entire rank, as a whole, and are suspicious of them.

It just seems like it would be hard for them to run a business, with competition from other non-olplyn blacksmiths, unless they were exceptionally talented.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 04, 2009 11:38 am

Although my application isn't really up for review yet, still trying to fit in a lot of stuff, yes to the traditional question. Tieg's father's side has a tradition of most if not all of their men (there may be the odd cousin or something that decided to go rogue, became a jeweler or something else) in blacksmith work. Yes, they are very talented, seeing as only those with extreme talent in the family (like Tieg) would be allowed to be working on blades. Blacksmiths make other things besides weapons and armor, after all. They can make grates, gates, eating utensils, pots, pans, you name it.

So they're not really relying on just Sargtlin or Uuthli business coming their way, although some of them are very pleased with the fact that they make a necessity for the patrols. There may be a competing smithery, but the one run by this family is quite big and yes, their work is top notch. Wouldn't it make sense a rank as clever and stylistic as the Olplyns could put out eloquent work? In the majority of their opinions, a Sargtlin or Uuthili denying their work is settling for second best. Be as suspicious as they like, but the evidence only shows quality work. The only thing those ranks can gripe about is that there is a lot more flashy metalwork and design on their products as a general rule (if one chooses to customize, they can have it as plain as they want).

The majority of workers are Olplyns, yes, it's family exclusive. An Afya might be in there somewhere, because this is a decent sized lineage. They have every right a chance to join into the business, but if they prove to be terrible they may be suggested to find another rank or stuck as a striker for the rest of their life. That goes with anyone who's terrible too.

But, again with Sargtlins and Uuthli, some of the more hardcore, ignorant ones may be that way. But I bet you they still do get business from them, if not always through the front door then the back rofl Does that help?

I realize it's not exactly open yet, but I did want to bring up the question before you put a lot more time into Tieg, only to have it asked later, since I can see you're working hard on him.

I don't have any say in anything, so it was more a question of curiosity, and one that I figure might've been brought up by Moo, or Kep, so I'm sure we'll see what they think, as well. XD

So, I have a bit to say, but I've realized that most of it is seeking clarification on some matters or offering clarification my part, so that's a good sign. There's very little that I flat out want you to change. On the whole, I think the character is fine, I just need to be sure of some things before he can be approved.

Firstly, you mention that you'd like him to wear goggles. Goggles aren't not allowed, but frankly I see no reason for them. Most blacksmith work would require more like a full face mask, and detail work would be glasses or magnifiers, not goggles. If you can justify goggles, you can have goggles.

In eating habits, you mention mangoes and other exotics. I'm not going to rule this out, because I don't at all doubt that there's at least one Daewl or Afya with some gift for growing such things in an abnormal climate. I just wanted to point out that these wouldn't have been imported, because you say 'if they ever come in'. All food in the village is farmed in or immediately around it, no distant trading systems or anything.

In Occupation, you mention him working on armor in association with his sister's clothing shop. I do want to point out that any armor would be minor, minor plates and more superficial and decorative than anything. Armor is far too confining for the Jivvin style of battle; as Jivvins frequently flip between humanoid and jivvinoid when fighting, and rely very highly on speed in the process, armor would just weigh them down and get in the way. There would be next to no call for it from practical fighters. I realize this has not been elaborated on anywhere, and an extensive explanation of the patrols is in the works, but I have mentioned the subject of armor in a few different app threads at this point.

You mention that his parents are both married and mates. Which is it? Because as much as they seem to disagree, and especially considering they mated to 'combine success', I seriously doubt they would have actually married.

And this is more of a super nitpick on my point, but I know I like being corrected when I misuse words, so I thought I would point it out. You say that Maveric is the predecessor to his father's legacy. I think you mean successor, else he would have been the one establishing the legacy that his father picked up afterward.

Finally, and perhaps my biggest issue, is this question of technology and his drive to leave the Village. Frankly, I have no idea where you got the idea that technology is unwelcome in the village except that there is little of it. The Village was established long before the Industrial Revolution and, because it was secluded and because it has a minimal population, did not participate or even know of most of the inventions. They haven't evolved a great deal of technology in part because they don't have the persons with the knowledge of related subjects needed to create it, and in part because they don't really need it in the first place. This is a small Village of a couple of thousand people, they survive perfectly well without cars and computers and telephones. A walk down the block is all it takes to contact someone, and there's certainly no lack of time for it.

This isn't to say that they do not approve or deny technology. They simply haven't developed it. So on that note, I'm finding it difficult to imagine what kind of items he likes to pick apart and recreate. Please clarify this. The Village does have clocks, and certainly a printing press or two, but nothing too complicated.

On the subject of him wanting to leave--you seem to flip flop with this. You say he's so determined to leave, and then you say that he's afraid to leave and really doesn't think it would benefit him anyway, and that he thrives on life in the Village and enjoys where he is. Again, please clarify.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 28, 2009 9:30 pm

Goggles would have been indeed for his working with the metal. More or less he'd like them a lot more than the face plate, for looks, but they're definitely not a huge issue and I'll take them out. But I'll just say right now that Tieg is not really practical xD

Fix'd. That's actually what I figured, but I didn't know since there are outlying homes from the villages (Gunn), and perhaps they've had contact with the outside world. But if you say they don't, they don't, so I fixed it.

Sure, I understand that. What Tieg does working with his sis is like, plate armor. Elbows, some chest, whatever. He makes things that go well with the appointed outfit his sister is drawing up, even making holes in the plates sometimes so it can be stitched into the clothing itself. Also, if I may say, I don't really think it's fair to say what type of fighter a Jivvin is if they can have different body types and strengths. Not everyone is fast, or powerful. And perhaps even more the individual may not switch to their Jivvin form as often as another. So if one is more confident fighting in their humanoid form, I don't see the disadvantages of armor. And he'd even make armor for Jivvin forms too, I'm sure. But you saying armor would restrict their changing, well, so would clothes too, right? But not every patrol or fighter is strutting around the Village in their birthday suits, at least none that I've seen!

His parents are married. They became mates for the sake of their business. However, they ended up falling in love with one another (if you could really say that about their types of characters) while they were mated. They had been together for a long time, their goals were the same, their beliefs, they really were quite absorbed in each other. As all married couples, they were so close to one another they felt like an extension of one another and sealed the deal. So they are married. They are not your usual lovey-dovey couple, they're like a diabolical team. Almost like a Bonnie and Clyde, if you will? Though I feel they kind of treat each other more like Morticia and Gomez from the Adam's Family, lmao. They're... interesting. But yes, they are married, but it hadn't been planned from the beginning, is what I was trying to get across.

You know, I wrote a lot of this in the wee hours of the morning. Thank you.

I think a lot of the technology thing is in Tieg's own mind. Like you said, they don't really need it, and his parents don't encourage his pursuits. He doesn't want to look like an absolute nut (ironic since he's just a weirdo in general) and he's so sure no one will accept him. So he keeps it quiet.

When I wrote that I was thinking of ovens, watches, the printing press. Really anything that used more than a few simple parts.

As far as wanting to leave, that's right. He's indecisive. He's afraid he's not going to find anything out there, so he's trying to find something to keep him content where he is. But he also wants to leave, in hopes of finding something more. He's not being pushed one way or another. He's afraid of the unknowns, which is something that's quite common in people. He's not yet convinced enough to take a risk because he's sure he won't be allowed back.

I added to his beliefs system a little, trying to clarify a little more on his technology complex.

I think he knows the village would be alright with him experimenting around with new things, but it's like he doesn't think they will accept it as something they could use? You know what I'm saying? He thinks the village would be stubborn to change, so why should he let them know what he's doing? He doesn't want people seeing him as "that crazy inventor guy". Doesn't want them to see his failures. He's thinking he's going to create this master device or something and wow everyone, and then it'll have to be employed somehow. And it'll be some sort of wake-up call. Right now he's so sure everyone is content like they are, they wouldn't even realize how things could be better until they were able to see it for themselves. A lot of that comes from his parents' early dejection of his ideas.

Does that make sense? Is there some better way I can put it?

Firstly, I want to apologize for taking so long to return to this. There've been a few things about the app that have been bothering me, and every time I return to consider them, I end up confusing and frustrating myself and put it off again. That said, I don't mean to discourage or offend you--this is mostly me arguing with my own shop canon--and I've come to a decision.

Thank you for rephrasing his opinions on technology, and the Village's response to it. That outlook makes a lot more sense to me. I don't think the Village would call his experiments useless so much as impractical. If things are working, why change? So that's fine.

I think the main thing that's bothering me, honestly, is his parents' relationship. You, yourself, say they "ended up falling in love with one another(if you could really say that about their types of characters)". The thing about a Jivvin marriage is, yeah, it's love. It's, like, love to the nth power. It's not just an extension of each other, it's not lifemates, it's bonded souls. And I have a really, really hard time seeing that at all plausible for these two characters, especially if these characters have resulted in children who have commitment issues. It seems like a marriage would make commitment that much more plausible to their children. It's hope close to home.

So what I'm going to do, is I'm going to say no, they can't be -married-. However, if you want to make individual applications for each of them, and can suitably convince me in those apps that they have that extent of a relationship, I'll double back and let it be so. Really, this whole issue is kind of moot to your character; it's more for my mental sanity, because marriage are supposed to be extremely rare--as in, like, six pairs in the whole village--but it seems like every app either has married parents or dead parents.

That issue aside, I'm going to approve Tieg. And I hope you don't feel like I'm being too nitpicky--I know I am xD But it's something that's been weighing heavily on me, and it's really the only reason I've delayed so long on him. I feel like this works out best for both of us.

So, approved <3
