I don't belive I saw any topics like this that were recent, so here goes. Hopefully this is the right subforum.
Has anyone else noticed that practically every word that comes out of Mist's mouth during the actual scenes is so corny sounding it makes you want to throw up? Just listen to what she's saying for yourself, and take note of the tone of her voice. It's painful! The only exception is her first line in the scene where Serenes is revived, but it's quickly gone xp
Now I like Mist, for the most part. And outside of the scenes, she doesn't normally say such dreadful things. But I'm this close to wishing Fire Emblem had duct tape for use as I see fit.

I just don't like Mist in general... I think she's too... girly-girly for my taste. Or maybe it's something else...

Jisen Meizuki *raise her hand up in the air as if she's a student* Are you talking about FE9 Mist or FE10 Mist? Both. For example: FE9--all but one line that comes out of her mouth in the animated or whatever you call it scenes annoys me. FE10--Though she only speaks once in an animated scene, it makes me want to slap her. Lucia is unconcsious for goodness sake! And Mist is supposed to be a healer, so why isn't she helping?

Mist isn't so bad on my ears... Rolf (FE 10) on the other hand engenders much bleedage.

Child Of Light Eternal Mist isn't so bad on my ears... Rolf (FE 10) on the other hand engenders much bleedage. For some reason, I thought Rolf's voice was perfect. Mists in FE9 wasn't THAT bad, but her voice in FE10 was so high pitched O-o

Hm, good point. Rolf could have had better vocal chords. He could have had a better line, but I think Mist's was worse, so I still love him.
Mist's actual voice doesn't bug me so much as her tone and how she emphasizes things, in addition to the actual words coming out of her mouth. But I agree that her FE10 voice is pushing my annoyed buttons.
As for her outfit...I never thought about that before. Skies, what kind of child was Greil raising?!

No idea, but me thinks that Greil didn't have the time to raise Mist properly of how to be a lady since he's too busy making gold and training Ike. After all, her mother is killed at a very young age and there are no women to show her how to be a lady. Even with Titania around, Greil may have send her on scouting or taking business instead of "babysitting" Mist. Or I could be digressing. LOL xd

'Sup guys, Older Mist here! What's all the buzz about?! ....JUST KIDDING OHOHO.
Sadly, I AGREE. Mist's lines in FE9 were just like... ugh... ew.... shut up... D: In fact, so were Ike's lines!! I thought he was worse!! I just HATED the animated scenes in general!! >___>
I haven't seen the FE10 scenes because I haven't played much of it, but Micaiah and the soldiers in the beginning looked/sounded good. sweatdrop I was THRILLED with that beginning of FE10 because the animated scene looked like a maaajor improvement from FE9's. eek
I really thought that the FE9 scenes were just painful to watch... D:
As for the short skirt issue... That's just fashion! XD They wanted to make her the desudesu moeeee cute girl character. :XP: I dunno. I thought she was cute. ;P It just goes with her cutesy-girly status, which I also have no problem with, but I also-also happen to like girly things, soo.... rolleyes *epic fail*
But yes, the voice acting was terrible, so everyone please feel free to slap me and tell me to shut up. 3nodding

Yeah I guess. I'm mostly just surprised that everyone let her wear it. But that's just me XP
And I like FE10s scenes better too, the people all sound much smarter....for the most part. Ike and Mist still have their moments. The FE9 scenes are a little painful, and the best one is the one with laguz because no one talks XP

Anyway, is it just me, or did anyone think her voice in PoR sounded similar to Sakura's voice in the English dub of Cardcaptors?

I'm not a big fan of Mist myself but I thin they could've done better with the voices and actually matching the mouth movements with the words (especially in FE9). I understand it's difficult sometimes but they could have made it look a little better. Like Mist's line "Ike, look. Up there."

I don't like the children voices generally, but the adult voices(like Greil and Zelgius, for example) are good, IMO.
