The sky was clear and the sun was shining. Not a single cloud could be seen. Today...was a rather normal day. Menuha sighed loudly. This was boring her to death. She stared blankly at the sky from her spot on a rock, where she was lying on her back. Menuha shifted and sighed again.
She wanted something fun to do with her brother. Only problem was Jelani was nowhere to be found. "Traitor." She muttered. 'He better not be up to anything fun without me.' She wasn't usually this clingy but boredom always got to her. She pondered whether she should go look for him again but she had done a lot of walking already. 'Ah, well, he's gotta show up sometime...'

Low to the ground small black paws crumbled clumps of hardened dirt to dust as they moved almost silently through the Savannah grasses. Crouched just feet away from where one of his sisters had herself perched Jelani thought about all the different methods he had available to him in order to scare her; pouncing from behind, leaping from in front, simply stalking her and making his presence only slightly known at different angles. His mouth grew into a sly grin before his blood-red eyes flickered with excitement and anticipation. He'd picked exactly what way to use on her today, now it was time to execute it.
Creeping only slightly closer the cub bent his front limbs down and carefully placed them only inches farther in front of him. Ears back, tail still he curved his back making perfectly clear the muscles he already had forming in his hind legs. The small cub eyed his sister once more, the silly girl was simply far too bored for her own good...well, he'd fix that. Another sly grin masked his partially white muzzle and before you could say his name the cub lept forward and pounced onto the little female. His body landed on top of her middle back and then, just as he thought he'd finally made a perfect landing...rolled off her, her perch and onto the tough ground.
Letting out a mellow grump Jelani quickly got back to his feet and scurried in front of his sister to see if his scare tactic had in fact worked.
'Darn it all-,'
he thought to himself,
'...still can't keep myself up there.'

Menuha's ear twitched as a quiet noise reached her. It was barely audible and she completely missed that she had heard anything at all. Besides, she wasn't feeling like moving from her spot anytime soon. Not unless something really threatening appeared, which didn't seem to be the case. Though a feeling that she was being watched made her fur stand on end slightly. Menuha pushed it away, thinking she was being skittish. 'I ain't no scaredy-cat daddy's girl.' She closed her eyes, thinking this was a good time for a short nap. She realised how wrong she was a little too late.
A dark shadow appeared over her and she opened her eyes a fraction of a second before something golden crashed right on top of her. Menuha barely had time to react and only managed to lift her paws in front of her face with a scream. Luckily the thing that attacked her rolled off of her as soon as it landed. Wasting no time Menuha jumped up on all fours searching for her attacker. Menuha was ready to bolt away when she suddenly recognized her brother. "Jelani!" she cried, launching herself at him "You are so dead!"
