The Great Hall of Castellum Argentus has been decorated in hues of orange, gold, and white, all symbolizing the sun rising on a new year. Gauzy fabric hangs from the vaulted ceiling to the floor in mysterious swaths, almost creating pathways through the large space, ringing the open central space for dancing. Music drifts through the air, a variety of records being played on a hand-cranked vitrola. Most are classical music and some medieval and renaissance pieces to fit in with the courtly mood.
Several long tables have been covered in linen and piled high with fruits; cheeses, succulent roasted meats, vegetables, and pastries of all sorts.
((This thread is for the Masquerade Ball plot, posting in it is completely open to Silva Regia fey and their Kithain. The Moon Court will be appearing but only after the drinks of the Sun Court have been drugged and the members of the court become less aware of strangeness in the number of participants or their appearances. When making your first post, please include a description (or picture) of your costume, thanks!))

King Cervus strolled through the hall, unrecognizable in his decadent costume. He was garbed as the Green Man of lore, his face and hair dyed green with molded leaves surrounding it. His torso had been garbed in browns and greys, with dark lines depicting bark. From behind and atop his head, branches with leaves jutted upwards, completing the image of a tree with the Green Man's face peering out of it. This did well to disguise his antlers which appeared to be nothing more tree branches.
He strode amid the hanging fabric, smiling a serene and happy smile. His people were reborn, the year was dawning anew, and he had married his queen. Life was sweet.(Art by Sayuri_Nitta)

Ursa entered the hall rather silently. Her posture rather slumped after a while of trying to adjust to the feeling of the high heels on her feet. It was very hard to walk in them, so she attempted larger steps. Her fingers were wrapped carelessly at the necklace upon her neck, rubbing at the feather without even knowing.
It was a good feeling upon entering. The hall itself was bright and welcoming, she stopped for a moment or two in her way in, to admire the beauty. She nodded to herself, her smile wide, this would be a great event, she was certain of it.

Cervus spotted the first arrival and he drifted in her direction. "Good evening, Milady. Don't you look lovely. Welcome to the Masquerade. Would you do me the honor of a dance?" The Fey King went to great lengths to disguise his voice for the occasion, trying to make himself as unrecognizable as possible. So it was that the Green Man entreated the glamorously costumed girl for a dance.

Shy, though obviously attempting not to show it lest her identity be discovered, the mouse carefully pattered into the room, looking about. These were familiar people, though she would not be able to tell one from the other, if the costumes did their job. She really had no reason, she knew, to be so insecure.
Her soft slippers made almost no sound as she made her way to the table piled with food-- she had been with Sissy attempting to get everything put together for quite some time now, and hadn't had anything to eat just yet. The figure behind her was rather nicely garbed as well. Decked in shimmery silver fabric that looked like a piece of the moon, she was relatively unmistakable to any who knew her. The dress was beautiful, though. With an empress waist that caused everything below her breasts to billow out and swirl about her feet (invisible, for the dress itself's length covered them neatly...though when she moved, one could see she wore no shoes at all.). Even the half-moon mask she wore over her face did little to disquise her appearance, as she let her dark purple hair fall to her back, strung with sparkly moons and stars, not bothering even to change its colour or put it up in some manner.
Shiaree decided not to scold Muris in any way for her behaviour. Afterall, the poor dear was already worried enough about the Masquerade, she didn't need any help.
Smiling, she made her way over towards the two figures. "Good evening," she said gently, giving them a respectful curtsey and then heading to join Muris at the table.

She giggled for a moment, "thank you very much! Your costume is brilliant! Very clever idea." She quickly cleared her throat and nodded, removing the hand from the grasp on the necklace. "Of course," she stated, smiling through her disguise. It interested her, she pondered on the identity of the person behind the mask, but that was the name of the game, and she'd only be left to ponder on it.
"Good Evening," she replied to the woman who had strolled over for a brief moment before heading toward the tables.

The Green Man nodded regally to Muris and Shiaree as he led the costumed Ursa through the veils of fabric towards the dance floor. He also gave his Kithain a respectful nod as he passed by her.
Sajhiri was wearing an angel costume, fluffy white wings sprouting from her back, in compliment to those which were always at her temples. A white sash floated around her distended belly, revealing her state of impending motherhood. She waved a winged staff at Cervus in hello before she settled into a chair to take the pressure off her aching feet.
Once at the dance floor, Cervus spun Ursa around in time with the waltz being played. "Your costume is exquisite, Milady," he complimented in a sincere tone.

Feles scowled inwardly as he paused at the entrance to the Great Hall. The trip here had been uneventful, and he was hoping everything went off without a hitch. So long as one of them managed to plant the drug, things would work perfectly... He slipped into the Hall, staying amidst the wispy fabric that shrouded places here and there, his feet making no sound on the floor. Around his feet was cupped fabric that had been starched stiff and painted with a metallic gold hue. The 'covers' went up to his knee where they were held in place with gilded trim, a fall of wispy, pastel colours falling down as if they were the fetlock over a horse's hoof. The tunic he wore was white, trimmed in gold, as were the bands that decorated his upper arms and wrists. From the ones on his wrists, a matching fall of the silken hairs dropped to cover his hands lightly. His hands were coloured as well, Youko having gotten hold of theatrical makeup that wouldn't rub off on everything and painted the cat from wrist to fingertip in the gold colouring. Where the feathering covered the purple tattoos on his leg, gold makeup covered the one on his face, the boy's eyes rimmed with the same shade. All in all, he had an almost magical look about him, lent to even more by the spiralling golden horn that had been securely attached to his forehead with spirit gum. His ears were left alone, bearing enough of a resemblance to horse's ears on their own... and the boy's hair and tail had been dyed in the same pale rainbow shades as the costume hair that had been used to make the hand and foot covers. His tail, however, had a gold cord wrapped at the base, and wound down over a good three quarters of it, holding the fur tightly to the skin. Only the last part was allowed to tuft outward, making it seem like a unicorn's tail. He would never forgive his Kithain for dressing him up like this... but even HE had to admit that it was a damned good idea for sneaking into a Sun Court party. Pale eyes scanned quickly, seeing that hardly anyone had arrived yet. It would do good for him to just stay out of the way for now and pretend he was just some kid that one of the Kithain had brought with them.

She looked to Sajhiri upon passing her, and faintly smiled, her eyes more directed to her stomach, staring was rude, but she couldn't help it, she'd never seen a woman pregnant before. It didn't look like a nice ordeal either, her hand was led to her stomach. She looked down at it and followed Cervus; 'The Green Man'.
Ursa tried her best to dance, she hadn't really danced before, but she was getting into the swing of it, carefully trying not to stand on the mans foot with each movement. "Thank you very much!" she replied quickly, blushing underneath the mask.

Cervus smiled and twirled the young lady about the dance floor, his steps very graceful and well learned in the waltz. When the song ended he stepped back and bowed low to Ursa. "I was honored to dance with you, Milady."

Neith, in a vampire costume with a shiny purple wig, and Winny, who had dressed in a pink sleeping beauty outfit, were the first to enter from Filix's chambers. Winny tugged away from Neith, and wandered right into the middle of the room, intent on meeting someone else to play with. Neith drifted to the side, happy for the moment to watch her twins.
Not long after they'd entered, another girl came in. She'd almost be mistaken for Winny entering again, if not for the blue dress. She made her way straight to her outgoing twin.
Filix had hesitated, feeling just the tiniest bit uncomfortable in the corset and the itchy wig. And of course, a little self concious. It was true, no one would EVER suspect her to wear a gown like this. If not for Neiht, she wouldn't have. And it was fitting, soft blues, greys and pale golds.
But she was here now, Filix had to continue inside. So, taking a deep breath, she made her way into the ballroom.

She curtseyed elegantly and took a step back, but upon stepping back; a pain, fast as a shot, raged through her. Nails digging into her palm, she fell another few steps back, panting heavily as the pain raged on. A beam of blue white light shot out in all directions, taking Ursa completely by surprise.. Her back lurched over, and she held herself, waiting for this immense pain to surpass.

Cervus staggered back, his eyes widening. "A transformation here? Now?" he muttered in shock. He motioned for the attendees to stay clear of the striken fey. "She is growing...give her room." Slowly the light consumed Ursa, pulsing and growing in a ball too bright to look at, until at last it winked out, leaving a fully grown woman in it's place, no longer quite fitting into her ball attire.

Ursa blinked, she grasped her palm and looked carefully. Her hand automatically being forced up to her hair, she ran her fingers through, blinking once more in shock. Adulthood? She remained silent, overcome with a certain mix of disbelief and joy. What a time to transform. She was left without words, just wanted a mirror. "U-u-umh excuse me for a moment." The after effects were fading quickly.
She jumped out of her heels, picked them up, and rushed for the bathroom, a hand up to secure her mask... She pushed open the door and peeked inside, running inside, and startling as her reflection greeted her.
"Wow..." croaking she quickly admired herself without the mask, for a brief moment mind, before slipping it back on.

Lupinus entered the hall, quickly taking note of his surroundings, as well as locating Feles. He strode forward into the midst of the mingling Sun Court fey, pausing once to adjust his mask.
A dark, reptilian mask covered his face, patterned like scales and iridescent; the colors changed as the light hit them. His clothing was colored in a similar manner, loose dark green pants and shirt with scales embroidered onto the fabric with thread that shone when light reflected. He wore a long cape, tail tucked beneath it out of sight, and his wings he had covered with green, bat-like false wings of a lighter blue color, which came through the slits sewn into his cape for that purpose. Brown leather shoes and gloves completed his ensemble.
Seeing the disturbance caused by a fey girl's growing, he made his way over to Feles. "Here, let us get out of the way and give them room," he said, echoing the Green Man. "You look shaken," he added, though he suspected Feles was being rather sullen about his costume- he would have been. "Why don't we get you something to drink." He motioned as if to herd Feles out of the way and toward the food.
