Zinnia strode confidently through the trees of the woods. It was dark and spooky at night, but she wasn't afraid! This was a special mission that her superiors had assigned especially for her! They said that there were several pokemon nearby that, once injured, they healed at an amazing rate. She had been ordered to find the substance that allowed this quick recovery and bring it back to the lab for testing.

"Don't worry, Zyk!" she said loudly into the darkness. "Shadow Mew might be gone like she is every night, but you're more than enough for anything that heads our way!" Needless to say, her ego had swelled to an enormous size, thanks to the Rockets that had given Zinnia her mission. Really, they just needed to give her a simple task so they could proceed with their more important ones in secrecy.

Zyk the zubat chirruped back at Zinnia with a little less enthusiasm. He was on high alert; night was when he became most active, but he was also a bit nervous. Wandering around in the heart of the woods looking for a mysterious substance was not his idea of a fun time. There were wild pokemon, it was easy to get lost, and the mysterious object that was healing pokemon could be dangerous. Zyk hadn't forgotten the last time Zinnia had gone into the woods at night; she had fallen into the river and had to be rescued by Shadow Mew. With the mew gone and Zyk being so small, there was nothing to save Zinnia if it happened again.

"Don't be such a worry wart!" Zinnia said playfully when she heard Zyk making his anxious noises. She could only see his dim outline, but she ruffled his blue-gray fur anyway. "This is an adventure!"

At that moment, Zinnia bumped into something tall, nearly knocking Zyk off of her shoulder.

Adriel sighed as he rested against a tree, panting softly for air. Abras were cute and all, but healing one could take its toll even on a pachirisu with all that teleporting. Well...at least the job was done. Hopefully that little one would no longer be at the end of a malicious attack any time soon. Nothing too bad, just a couple of bothersome burns. A cocky smile appeared on the pale face, nothing one of his recipes couldn't cure. It soon disappeared as he pushed himself away from the tree and stretched his limbs. He ached all over, maybe he was getting a bit too old to be going after hyperactive pokemon....and with abras sleeping 18 hours a day, they had more then enough energy to burn when it came down to it.

He wore his black trenchcoat, jeans and boots, the only thing that was completely off was his white hair, and the pale skin showing on the open front of his coat, white bandages around his abdomen, sporting spots of crimson.

Faraon sniffed about as the healer began to follow the feline, who curled his tail about one of his wrist, guiding him. While Adriel could see more then most people in the dark, he still was quiet tired and having some help from his pokemon was more then welcome. Faraon stop for a moment, both of them listening to some loud mouth human screeching out about someething, neithe of them were really interested enough to actually listen....maybe they will just walk by them and not see them...

-thump-

Wishful thinking, Adriel thought quietly to himself as he glared down at the person who had bumped into him. Yes, he was tall, yes he was dress all in black. But he did have white hair, so why was it that people kept crashing into him? Did he looked like a tree? If he didn't, he felt sorry for trees for having so many people bumped into them.

Zinnia blinked and looked up. She then jumped back and yelled, "AAH, FLOATING HEAD!" She pointed at Adriel's pale face. "They never said that these woods were haunted, Zyk!" she said, turning her attention back to her pokemon almost immediately. "Maybe that's what is healing the pokemon! Ha, what would they think of a ghost in their lab?" Either Zinnia was fearless, or else just stupid. Maybe a mixture of both.

A quick round of squeaks revealed to Zyk that it was not just a head, but an entire body. Echolocation really helped where eyesight failed. "Zuu..." he said to Zinnia, trying to make her understand.

"Oh, you're right, Zyk! I've been really rude." Zinnia turned brightly and looked back up at the 'floating head'. "Hi, Mr. Ghost! Sorry I ignored you. Fine night, isn't it?" Zinnia smiled uncertainly.

One eyebrow arched slightly as Adriel watched with mild amusement. "You ain't very smart, are ya?" His soft and rusty voice spoke finally. A floating head? Seriously, what were they feeding kids these days? Mercury for breakfast?

Faraon yawned as he listen idly to the strange and ridicules conversation. A ghost head, healing injure pokemons.....He tried to put together how that would work, but find himself getting a migraine not two minutes after. The concept was that stupid.

Adriel folded his arms, hoping the motion would tip the air-headed woman off that he wasn't a ghost or the very least, that he at least had a body. He wonder why she was interested in knowing what had been healing the pokemon in the area. Maybe that was a sign that he should be moving on from the area in the next few days if people had started to notice. "Fine, indeed. I'll be going now and leaving you to your loony thoughts, young lady."

Zinnia's smile disappeared. "I'm sorry, sir, that was what you would call a joke," she said formally. "You didn't really think I was that stupid, did you?" Zinnia sighed, plucking at her Rocket uniform. "Anyway, I'm on a mission!" Her smile returned like a cough; once you started, they kept coming back. "Do you know if there's some sort of plant growing around here that is healing pokemon faster than normal? If I can find it, then I can take it back to the base-- I mean, back to the lab, at my, uh, dad's house!" Zinnia had remembered too late that the mission was supposed to be secret. "It's to better the world of pokemon!" she insisted.

Zyk bared his pointed fangs at Adriel. A thin line of purple poison dripped from them, a sure warning to anyone with a brain. Even in the dim half-light of the moon, the white teeth were quite visible. Zyk had to be cautious where Zinnia was not. She was talking to a complete stranger in the dead of night! And that persian did not appear to be friendly. The man could be a murderer, a thief, or something even worse. The tiny zubat puffed his fur up ferociously; he would protect Zinnia, even if she wouldn't protect herself.

Violet eyes rolled themselves. A subdue smirk came to his face as he listen to her asking him if he really thought she was that stupid(he did), to muddling and tripping over her words. He decided to play along for a moment as he scratched lightly at his goatee, muttering. "A plant?...that heals pokemon? hmmm....a plant...a plant.....Nope" He finally finish with a smirk. "Never encounter such thing."

He wasn't laying, per se. He never did encounter such thing, but he knew the different combination of plants and herbs that were capable of doing that. "Now, if you excuse, I must return to my camp and make dinner." He eyed the zubat and smile gently at it. He meant her no harm.

Faraon's ears perked up again at the concept of dinner, he was starving! Okay, so he wasn't, but they had skipped lunch and following Adriel about all day could work up an appetite in anyone. He licked his fangs. "Perrrsian..." Loose the hag and lets go!

"Wow, that's really nice of you to invite me! I guess I could come; I haven't eaten dinner yet, either!" Zinnia said brightly. In truth, she had woken up late that morning, had brunch, then had another meal that evening, which could have been called a linner. Or a dunch. But she hadn't had three meals, so technically she hadn't eaten a real dinner. "My name's Zin, by the way, and this is Zyk!"

When the man made no move to attack and neither did the persian, Zyk relaxed slightly. He still kept his delicate ears trained on the two strangers, but he shuffled into a more comfortable position on his trainer's shoulder. And there she went, imposing on others again. Too bad he couldn't speak telepathically with Zin, like Shadow Mew could.

"No one invited, nor are you invited." He answer in a sharper voice as he stepped away. "..........'Zin', its rude to invite yourself. So go ahead with your little fruitless exploration and let me be." The healer turned on his heels, situated himself before he began walking, follow closely by the persian. He muttered under his breath, darkly, about people not teaching manners to their children.

Zinnia was unstoppable. She walked quietly behind Adriel, trying to match her footsteps with the tall man's. It was impossible, since her legs were so much shorter, but it got her to shut up for a while.

Zyk squeaked softly, tugging on Zin's uniform. He could hear everything the stranger was saying, and it was obvious that he wasn't happy about meeting Zinnia. They should leave, before he got angry!

Zinnia spoke up once more when she almost stepped on Adriel's boot when she stepped out too far. "What's your name? And your pokemon's? He's a meowth, right?" Zinnia wasn't very good at remembering the species of pokemon, other than her own pokemon's.

Adriel gave an irritated twitch, his hand finding itself around the handle of his katana, but he let it go. This was just an annoying child, there was no real reason to do any damage to her. He wasn't even hungry for that type of nutrition. He turned about, calm eyes staring down at her as he tower over the girl. "No. A meowth is much smaller then this and it does not have a jewel on its forehead, it has a medallion. It normally has color points, but if you care to notice, this pokemon here does not. He is a persian, the evolution of a meowth. A much larger feline that is known for their mysteroius head jewels, fierce and short tempers, and their show-pokemon capability." He spoke just as sharply as before.

"Just because you shared your name with strangers, it does not mean I am about to share my own. Now stop following me if you know what is good for you." He spoke the last sentence really slow, hoping that would get through the girl's low intelligence. He smile secretly as he got a purrr of approval from his pokemon.

Zinnia thought about this for a long time, then replied, "Your temper is like a persian's. Is that why you have one?" She smiled sweetly, knowing that she was just getting the man even angrier. It was fun, since everyone at the base ignored her now, which was pretty much the only way to get Zinnia to give up. Getting angry only encouraged her to bother you more, and playing along just made her happy.

Zyk gave a sharp squeak when he "saw" the man reach for his stick (Zyk couldn't "see" the blade while it was in the sheath) and pumped his wings a few times. Why wouldn't Zinnia just leave?

The man rose an eyebrow, it wasn't the first time he was compare to his persian, it wouldn't be the last. After all, he always did see himself as more of a 'cat-person' anyways. "No, I have one because I was the only one qualified to train him." True, having a blind pokemon wasn't for everyone, even less one that came from such vicious breed. He began walking once again, giving his back to the teenager. Giving that this idiot wasn't leaving him any time soon, he decided that walking circles around the forest would be the best way to get her off his back. For one thing, he could stay awake until dawn without much problem, and second, he wasn't against sleeping in a tree.

Zinnia continued following the stranger, oblivious to his plan. "Are you the one healing the pokemon, or is it something that they're eating or something?" she asked bluntly. She had almost forgotten her mission, but she remembered it when she ran out of other things to say.

Zyk was still suspicious of the human and his persian. He was sure that he was trying to get her lost, or worse. What if they were being led into a trap? Zyk leaped off of Zinnia's shoulder, much to the girl's surprise. He flew right in front of Adriel's face, getting in his way. He squeaked shrilly and showed his fangs once more. Zyk wished that he could talk to the human in a more polite way, but he was sure that he wouldn't be understood. So a challenge was the only way to get his point across.

"I am here to study Pokemon behavior." He answer quietly, taking out a sketchbook from his bag and opening it. Showing her the sketches and notes before slamming it close and putting away. "I have not observed any Pokemon digesting any particular herbs, unless you count the common ones they use for stomach aches and headaches..."

"Oh, okay... Zyk, come back." Zinnia held an arm out for the angry zubat.

Zyk flew back to his trainer, but he did not settle down. If he had eyes, he would have been glaring. That human was not being nice to Zin!

Zinnia stroked her pokemon, not able to understand what had made him all riled up. "Maybe there isn't anything, then. It's good to know that they are recovering, though." Zinnia continued to follow the man in silence.
