Irena had travelled alone ever since the big fire that had forced her from her home, she had become flighty and nervous since she had left the forest, and didn't know who she was anymore. What she did know was that the forest, or what was left of it, was no longer suitable for living and that the Cerynei were moving back to live with their cousins. The fires had made her worry and she had become easily panicked, she trudged on slowly and tiredly for she was unable to sleep.

A twig cracked beneath her feet and she froze, the adrenaline began pumping lazily through her bloodstream and her eyes darted about nervously looking for some unseen predator. Seeing no one the doe let out the deep breath she had been holding, "I.. I'm so silly..." She sighed and looked at her hooves before a nervous chuckle escaped her lips. "It was just a twig that I stepped on, there is nothing to worry about" she thought, rather disappointed in herself and her pathetic behavior, after all she hadn't seen anyone for awhile. She started walking again, trudging along at a slow pace her eyes toward the ground. "I guess I should be thankful."

Kacdaninymila hadn't a clue about others her kind. She always gone on with life thinking she was the only one. Her eye's glowed a pinkish color, which made her feel more weird in this new area she seemed to roam. Where most had manes, and long tails. She had none, and a short one like a deer, or a rabbit. She figured that's what she was.... A deer. Though, she couldn't prance like one. She just didn't have the skill. She tried hanging out with some, but they looked at her like she was crazy because she wasn't a full deer.

Mila heard a crack in the land she was walking, she stopped. She looked about wondering who was around. She wasn't afraid, but more curious then anything. She moved towards the direction the sound had came. And then a voice came as well. Then, her eyes fell upon another, like her... Kinda. The other had a mane. She moved closer. Curiosity taking a hold of her. Her tail kind of wagged a little. "hello?" She asked.

Irena had almost calmed herself completely when the voice came and she nearly jumped out of her skin. Ears perked and her tail stood up straight as she froze knowing well enough that her coloring helped to hide her, though her eyes remained moving to search for the source. "H-hello...?" she frowned, she didn't want to be rude but she was hesitant to give away her location as her eyes continued to dart about.

That was when she spotted the other Cerynei and let out a sigh of relief, her eyes ran over the colors and the bright purple eyes. Shifting from her stiff position she relaxed. "I don't r-recognize you, have we met before... sister?" she asked slowly, ever since the fire she hadn't recognized anyone, but she didn't want to hurt anyone she may have known. "Did..." she cleared her throat carefully choosing her words," did the fires chase you out too?"
PostPosted: Sun Feb 22, 2009 3:07 pm

Sister? She tilted her head for a second. Was she just trying to be nice? Kacdaninymila didn't have any siblings. For all she knew, she didn't have parents either. She smiled at her. "Oh, no." she said shaking her head. "I haven't met another like myself. Though you have a mane." She said being quite obvious with her observation. "I'm Kacdaninymila. Though you can call me Mila" She told the other with a smile.

"I really don't remember any fire." She said "But, I'm assuming if it pushed everyone else, that it pushed me." she added. She tended to forget things she didn't want to remember. She probably shouldn't do that. "But now you can start a new life here." She said with a nod. "It's wonderful here" She added. Though there was some bad things about this place, but she figured she shouldn't scare the other.

Irena watched the other nervously hoping she hadn't said the wrong thing. "Not all of our kind have manes y-you know..." a smile formed on her lips and she chuckled, a faint memory of other Cerynei flitted through her head but was quickly gone. "I can't believe you haven't met any others though..." she trailed off thinking, "Nice to meet you Kacdani... err Mila" she mumbled rather awkwardly as she tried not to get tongue tied before lowering her head in a sort of bowing gesture, "I am Irena."

The doe furrowed her bow, she didn't remember the fire? Perhaps she wasn't in it and had just gone like all the others had... but she had said she hadn't met any other Cerynei. Irena gazed at her looking rather puzzled as she tried to make sense of it. "I ... I guess so..." she glanced away and looked into the distance, "this place is rather nice isn't it? Sort of make me miss home though." she murmured these words softly before turning her attention back to Mila. "A-are you living here?"

Mila couldn't help but giggle at Irena's attempt at saying her name. She was use to that, though hadn't really remembered how she acquired it. "I'm sure there are more without manes." She said more now since the other had shown her that there were more of her then she had thought. "Nice to meet you as well, Irena." It was a pretty name, and simple. More simple then her own name.

"Home is where ever you make it." She said with a nod. She never really missed the places she had left from. But loved the places she had moved to. "Oh, well, Kinda." She said with a nod. She really hadn't found a good place to call home yet, but she sure that'd only take a few days to find a new place to settle in and enjoy life as it comes. "I have really found a good place to call home yet, but it takes a while."

Irena blushed embarrassed before she nodded quickly, "yes there are..." If only she could remember who and where she had met others who were maneless, but what few memories she retained were blurry. "I'm sure you will meet o-others without manes at some point..." she said with a nod, "sorry for ... destroying your name... I'm not very good with.. words i guess."

"Mmm but at the moment I am homeless so..." she scuffed her hoof against the ground making a little circle, the thought of home making her depressed, though she assumed it would have been worse if she could remember what home was like. She knew it must have been beautiful though, even if her memories started waking up amidst a raging fire. "It does take a while... especially to find a place that is perfect."

"It's ok, my fault really." She said to the name part. "I'm the one with the strange name, after all." She smiled at the other. No offense was taken. How could it? It was just a name after all. "I'm sure I will, but just meeting anyone is good too." She said with a nod. The land seemed to be full of others that some-what looked like her, but didn't. They both certainly looked like a cross from a deer and a horse.

"So am I. Maybe we can look for a home together." She asked. She knew how hard it was moving, and trying to pick up the pieces again. Though, she was sure the other probably wouldn't want any help looking for a new place to call home. It was just nice to offer. "Yeah, well settling with what you can get, is better then nothing."

Irena shook her head feeling bad, "no... it's not your fault at all and your name isn't strange... just new" she glanced at her hooves, she was terrible at wording things. "Oh! yes... yes definitely... one shouldn't be picky about who they meet..." she chuckled and shifted nervously, "except for when that anyone wants to hurt you." She shook her head attempting to get the thought from her mind.

" That would be... lovely," she smiled, it would be nice to have a herd again. She frowned and furrowed her brow, had she had a herd? The word bounced about in her head as she tried to remember. "It would be nice to form a herd, and s-safer." she nodded glad that she had made a friend instead of running. "True... though there is no place like home so it would be nice if... the home was nice," she chuckled.

Mila nodded in agreement. She didn't even really think about those who could hurt you though. She'd seen some mean looking creatures around, but she just avoided them very easily. Her tail wagged a bit as she stomped her front hooves lightly on the ground. She seemed really nice, and probably a good start to make a new friend.

"That's splendid!" She said with a smile. She wasn't really thinking of a herd, but it sounded lovely. She nodded at that too. Home had to be good, or there would be too many places like home. She giggled. "I'm sure there's plently of places to find a good home in." She noted.

Something came upon her, curiosity really. "I have a question." She just thought about it... What the heck was she? "What are we? I mean, I know I'm not a deer..." She wasn't sure if she was a horse or not. Was she?

Irena smiled and watched her, Mila seemed a lot more relaxed than she was. "Yep... going with a herd is always wonderful... e-especially if you can find one you really belong in..." she shuffled her hooves and glanced down at the scars on her legs. "It's really a lot of fun... I think..." she mumbled the last word quietly wishing she could remember. "Hopefully it will be a nice spot with lots of trees and tall grasses... and..." She stopped looking slightly embarrassed because she was talking so much.

Irena looked at her shocked, "you... don't ... know?" she asked slowly before bursting into a tiny fit of giggles. "We are Cerynei... sort of a combination of deer and Soquili in a ...way." She chuckled, how could Mila not know what they were?

Kacdaninymila wasn't the brightest out there, as well as self memory lost made things difficult for her. She smiled at the other and nodded. "Though, I couldn't tell if it's a place I should be in or not even if it was right for me." She spoke the truth. She always saw herself wondering aimlessly, with no real direction to go. Perhaps it was time for change? She wasn't sure.

"Oh," She started to say. At least she knew there was some deer in her. "I just didn't know where I belonged, cause I hung out with some deer." She started on with her small little story. "But they started to make fun of me." She said "see.... I can't prance like a deer." She told the other honestly. She moved more like a horse, or from what she had seen from the distance.

Irena smiled, "this is ... where we are supposed to be... as decreed by the prince." She gazed off into the distance wondering what had happened to the prince of the Cerynei, "our old lands were destroyed, which is why... why we traveled to these lands." She closed her eyes trying desperately to remember the lands that tugged on her heart, but all that came was the flickering flames, the burning of the smoke in her lungs, and the throbbing pain in her head.

She shook her head quickly casting aside these thoughts, "You belong with our kind Mila, you always have..." She smiled finding the thought of Mila attempting to fit in with the deer a little funny. "Prance like a ... deer?" she winked the muscles in her legs tensing and coiling before she sprung forward. "Don't worry.. we... well all of us aren't too good at that necessarily, due to the fact w-we aren't actually deer." She nodded grinning, "we have a bit... a bit more horse in our blood."

Kacdaninymila's memory had slowly started to come back. She frowned. She now knew why she wanted forget some of the stuff. Images of fire came flashing in her eyes, and the smell of burnt wood filled her nostrils. She didn't remember all the details, but she did remember the prince. She didn't know what to really say to the other, other then to not to push the subject on. She gave a weak smile to the other, trying hard to get the images out of her head. They seemed to just linger forever.

She felt embarrassed for thinking she was a deer for a little while, but what else could she have done? All she needed was someone to remind her, remind her of the things she should have never forgotten. "Thank you" she said. Her glowing pinkish eyes looked into the other's orange ones. "Maybe we should try to find other's like ourselves?" She wondered how many of them actually survived the fire. Her home, her beautiful home, yet some how, she didn't feel too hurt by moving here.

Irena watched the expression on her face change, perhaps she did know about the Cerynei a little after all? She looked at her rather desperately hoping the other remembered something, the loss of her memories was enough to drive her insane. She remained standing their quietly observing her changes in mood. She glanced down at the scars on her legs, often time it was images that could trigger flashbacks, but no matter how many times she looked at her legs she could not remember how the scars got there. Her memories seemed to be sealed in an airtight space in her head, it had occasional leaks but they were quickly snatched back up.

She waited patiently, not knowing what else to do for she was bad at conversing, she stared back into the eyes of Mila and smiled. "Your ... your welcome... though I don't know for w-what." She chuckled having a faint idea, hopefully it would benefit her that Mila knew something. "That was my plan... my plan all along." she nodded, she had been searching just not finding, though she was more keen on discovering her past. The other Cerynei surely would be able to help her find what she sought.
