Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered where fairy tales come from? Did you ever think for the smallest instant that possibly the children are right, and thing that go bump in the night are to be feared? ...No. No, of course not! That would be silly... wouldn't it? What if they were real do you think they come out and say so? After all the persecution humans receive throughout history, one can see why creatures might be a little wary of coming out in the open.
Vampires have been around for millenia, since the great city of Atlantis sunk beneath the sea. Bearing children and spreading rumors so proposterous so they can live in peace. Sun Light, Garic, Crosses, Holy Water, if they can pass one of these they aren't vampires... right?
Wrong.
Werewolves are in the same way hidden in plain sight, it is not only under the full moon that they change, it is under any moon but the closer to full the more compelling it is. But silver is the ultimate defense against such a beast... right?
Wrong Again.
A third strike and you're out. So be careful as you begin... because Nothing is As It Seems.
Our story currently takes place in a small sea side town called Portsmouth.

Vampires
Long ago, before any other People, had begun to form cities, the people of Atlantis had cities that reached astonishing heights. Electricty, Genetics, and so much else. They came to the point where them mixed Nanotechnology and Microbiotics, to create small robots that could be inserted into the blood stream and counter any illness or injury, from cancer, to birth-defects they worked perfectly, and once they were done fixing the person and bringing them back to prime condition they would shut down and leave the body. But they never shut down. Since the body is always under attack and receiving damage from Sunlight, Pollutants in the Air and even simply Aging, the nanites never shut down. And it soon became apparent that they used up more blood in the healing process then the body could produce, so the testers had to get blood transfusions, but on the bright side, they were always in the peak of health, and lived forever, unless they lost too much blood and the nanites could not repair the damage.
When Atlantis was sunk beneath the waves only those who had been 'infected' survived and their body evolved so they could get the blood they needed to survive. And that was the beginning of Vampires.

Werewolves
It was countless centuries ago that a witch cursed the first werewolf into being, "May the Light of the Full Moon Reveal you to be the Beast Outside, as you are Within." Unlike beliefs held by many, these weres are not weak to silver, then instead weaken when confronted with cold iron.
Differnt countries and cultures all have their differnt stories of how werewolves came to be, and most of them are true. Some weres are purely evil due to a curse, or by their nature, or some simply are, wolves with the soul of their human side within.
The most recent spike in the werewolf population came in the second, World War... Deep in the Black Forest, a sick and twisted man expieremented on humans and finally created a breed of superhumans, through mixing their atributes with those of wolves, for his Master, he was making an invinicble army, of souless killers weak only to silver. Human like but able to change under the light of he full moon, it is not known how this was acomplished, some twisted power of his own, or the magic of those he twisted, but some it happened. When his base for expierementation was attacked he released his creatures hoping to escape in the confusion, but a few remembered what he had done to them... and he never escaped.
So many pasts yet they are all children on the moon, as it waxes, their ability to transform grows, and as the moon wanes so does their Gift, or Curse so far as some are concerned. And remember from kind to kind weaknesses differ so do not trust any evidence.

Character Profiles
Username (Gaian): Tesunie Character Name: Kia Age: True Age unknown. Thinks he is only 23, but really older than he thinks. Race: Believes he is human, but really is a vampire. Appearance: Of average height, Kia is considered as a little handsome, but not overly attractive. His eyes are a brilliant blue, with blond hair. He has fair skin tones, but burns easily in the sun (though he heals quickly too). He unfortunately never seems to tan, despite all the sunburns he might get. Occupation: College student. Bio: Due to some unforeseen circumstance, Kia suffered a server head injury four years ago. This injury left him with no recollection of his past, or even his name for that fact. After awakening in the hospital, Kia was soon cleared. The doctors where all surprised at how quickly he had recovered from his injuries, and the fact that he ever even woke up after suffering from server brain damage. Being considered underage to live on his own, and having no memory, Kia was soon adopted into a new family. After living with this family, he grew very close to them, considering them as his true family. They supported him, even when he had to go into the hospital for continual blood transfusions, due to his anemia.
(As Requested, prehistory) In Kia's forgotten past, he was descended from Atlantis, before it's sinking. After many hundreds of years, till before he lost his memory, Altrist, his real name, was a supporter of revealing their kinds presence within the world. In the fight with a werewolf over the subject, Kia was severely injured, taking a hit directly in the head. This caused massive damage that the nanites within his system found difficult to heal. Personality: Despite not having his memories, and not even knowing his name, Kia is a rather pleasant and cheerful guy to be around. He does tend to get down allot, and going into fits of internal arguing. He doesn't like to show others this side of him however, as he is always trying to make others around him happy, seen as he feels like he is nothing but a burden to his family, as well as frustrated by his lack of memory. Powers: Has increased movement speed on land. Weaknesses: Besides the weaknesses of a vampire, Kia also hates water and swimming. He seems to have a perpetual fear of it, even though he really is a good swimmer. He also tends to pass out without notice, as well as have been known to do things and not remember what it was that he did. Beloved: Extra: Is on the school track team, and is considered one of the fastest runners in the school. Character Name: Kalia Naturai Age: 1086 (Appears 21) Race: Werewolf Appearance: Occupation: Enforcer Bio: Kalia was cursed long ago for being to prideful. She let a young man fall in love with her and encouraged him; but as fickle as she was she lost interest and left him heart broken. His only family, his grandmother was a powerful sorceress and she cursed Kalia "As Fickle as the Moon, So will ye be ruled by it, to change as it does into the monster that hides behind your beauty" She has been working of years now to find a way out of her curse, but because of the specifics of her curse she has no weaknesses such as silver or crosses but she cannot bear the word Love. It is a strange weakness few know about but the very word makes her ears burn and her body hurt. Personality: She is cold and reserved and refuses to get close to people. Powers: super speed, super strength, transformation (wolf to human) Weaknesses: The word 'Love' Beloved:

Posting. Recently someone taught me a new way of posting, sadly it requires a picture rather then just a description but I have to say I enjoy it... and I am 100% hooked, so I'll try and explain it here. And if you have any questions feel free to PM me and ask, I'm not make this mandatory, but since you're RPing in the Advanced Area you might try it. Just to try something new. Demo 1 Text 1. First you align your picture. You can use the Gaia quick tabs above the text box or write out the code by hand. [imgright][/imgright] [imgleft][/imgleft] Alignment is not really that important, I prefer, for myself, Right. But some of my friends prefer Left, and some don't care. I know one who is constantly switching to try and annoy people. (Doesn't work but she is trying.) Demo 2 TextDemo 2 Text2. Pick a color to match your character's picture, or just one you like. I usually end up grabbing some random HexCode to match. Some colors are less applicable then others. Example: I don't think I could respect an evil vampire who was going to try and kill me if he made his death threats in that pink color. But who knows... you might wanna keep the pink, just because. But I am going to pick the amber brown to match his eyes. Remember I said you don't have to be this matchy-matchy. To the Guys: I am fairly sure most of you don't care. 3. Since refinding/rewriting this entire code EVERY TIME you post would drive someone to violence. Just Quote and earlier post and delete the [ quote="Name here" ] at the beginning and the [ /quote ] at the end.
I know this sounds hard but it makes your Role Plays look much more advanced. There no more gender confusion, you can easily see the character you are RPing with. And after a very short time you won't even remember a time before you did this.
So that was my little lecture thingy. I hope you understood you can PM me with any questions about anything, role playing or otherwise and I hope to get this RP going!

It was night again, and the street lights where shining from above. A growl could be heard from behind Kia, or was he Kia? He couldn't tell anymore. He turned around to see what the noise was. Probably a stray dog, nothing to fear. As he turned his head, the stray dog was there. Seemingly to be growling at him. It was small, but then it lunged. In the air, the dog seemed to grow, to that of human size. No, it grew bigger than that, to a werewolf size! Kai raised his arm to block, but the beast was upon him, knocking him down. He was on his back, the giant beast on top of him, crushing him with it's weight. Then it raised it's arm, claws extending from its hand, and then it slashed downwards..."Ahhh!" Kia shouted, shooting up and out of bed. Sweat rolled down his back and face, and his breathing was heavy, in pants. He reached for his head, expecting a wound from the claws, only to find that he was uninjured. After a few more confused moments, Kia settled down. "Just a dream," He sighed. Werewolves didn't exist. But the dream never seemed to be just a dream. "It was only a dream." He looked across the room, to find Yojan still asleep. He was surprised that he didn't wake the kid up. Then, Kia looked at his clock. He might as well get up. Classes would be starting soon, and after that nightmare, he wouldn't be able to go back to bed anyways. Getting out of his bed, he slid out of the sheets, flipping over the outer corner of his sheets and blankets, letting him get up without messing up all his sheets. Sitting on his bed, he gave a yawn, and stretched. "A shower will feel good, get all this sweat off me." He muttered, getting up from the bed and then digging threw the draws, looking for his cloths for the day. Finding what he was looking for, he then walked out of the room quietly, closing the door behind him. Yojan could sleep in a little longer, before he would have to get ready for school.

Kalia got dressed and grabbed a piece of toast. She slabbed a pound of butter on it and headed out the door. The great part about being a werewolf was no heart attacks. Getting to school early she sat at her desk and pulled out a book ignoring the giggling and chattering kids that piled into the room.

Dropping his clean clothing onto the floor, Kia got undressed. He then turned the water on, waiting till the steam rose from the water. Easing his way into the hot water, he let it wash over his face, trying to let the water wash away his bad dream. It was a dream he has seen many times in the last four years. Maybe it was his overactive imagination bringing the scene forth. It wasn't long till the dreams affects faded from him. The heat of the shower felt good on his skin. After a short amount of time, he stepped out of the shower, drying off with a towel, and then getting changed. It felt good to have taken the shower, and helped drive the nightmare away. Walking back into his room that he shared with his brother, he plopped his sweaty night cloths onto the floor. "Yojan, time to get up. School starts soon and you wont want to be late." Kia nudged Yojan's shoulder till he stirred. "Didn't you hear me..." Kia was about to repeat himself, when Yojan cut him off. "Yeah yeah, I heard you." He rolled over, wide awake. "Had that dream again, big brother?"Looks like I've been caught, Kia thought to himself. "It wasn't that bad this time. I'm sure it is nothing." Kis shrugged it off. "Mom set up some leftovers for lunch, and there are some breakfast pastries on the counter. I'll be seeing you after classes." Walking out of the room, Kia grabbed his bag he has leaned against the door frame of the outside door as he walked to classes. Thankfully he didn't live far, so he was to class within moments. Opening the classroom door, Kia looked at his classmate. "Sure are a lot in this class. Well, here goes." He stepped in, looking for a seat that was open. There weren't that many left, so he chose a seat next to some girl. None of his friends happened to have been in this class, so he didn't know anyone yet. Upon sitting down, he pulled out a pad of paper and his pencils. Next was the textbook for the class. Lastly, a few loose sheets of plain white paper. All this time, he didn't look up from what he was doing though.

Kalia settled in for another long day, first peroid was a nightmare. History class. She was barely passing, How the hell did people screw what actually happen up this much? she wondered with a sigh as she took notes, You would think someone who lived through it would know better then a book written by some infants... She sighed but she needed to pass the class. "The Berlin Wall." she answered when the teacher threw a question at her to try and catch her off guard when that didn't work he turned on another less prepared student. She looked out the window watching the moon in its place in the sky, a few more minutes and the sun would have risen enough to blot it out, but for a moment she could almost feel the cool glow of it on her skin, "Miss Naturai... Miss Naturai." the teacher called again and she was drawn back most unwillingly, "Answer the question please..." the teacher asked. Kalia sighed, "I'm sorry I wasn't listening could you repeat it?

Kia noticed that the girl beside him needed some help answering the teacher's question, so he quickly wrote what the question was on a piece of paper and held it up to her, in a manner that the teacher wouldn't have really seen. He himself had been sideswiped by the teacher, but he had heard the question, where as the teacher thought he wasn't paying attention. It almost seemed as though the teacher was gaging the class, to see who was paying attention and who wasn't. To let her know to look at the paper, Kia gave a quiet cough, clearing his throat kind of sound. It should be enough to help her, seen as he had the reference page and paragraph written on the paper.

Kalia glanced at the paper and answered the question easily. The teacher gave her another warning look and went back to terrorizing the rest of the class. She knew she would need to thank the boy later but as it was she felt the last of the moonlight fade from her skin and with it, the last of her good humor. She looked straight ahead and tried very hard not to think of what really happened in those battles and wars, and how many who would never be mourned died.

(If you don't mind, I'm going to go to the end of the class, as role playing a class tends to not get very far... If I am wrong and I am jumping the gun on you, then please ignore this post and I shall work with you. Remember, your role play. Not mine.) The bell rang, announcing the end of the class. The teacher shouted over the rustle of the students as they all excitedly got up. "Don't forget your homework! I wont take anything late!" Kia stretched his arms over his head. He never liked even trying to be the first one out the door, as it was always a mashing of human bodies. Instead, he slid out of his chair and started to carefully pick up his stuff, starting with the sheets of white paper. Carefully, he placed them into a folder, and then started to take care of his other papers and lastly the text book. He noticed the girl besides him, as he had helped her earlier in the class. It was too early for history. Kind of funny though, here he is, learning about the history of the world, and he didn't even know his own history. His next class was going to be track, something he enjoyed doing, and was actually good at. He was thinking of the track field as he lifted his bag onto his shoulder. The doorway was still blocked, so he sat on his desk and waited for the crowd to thin and vacate the room.

Kalia glided past his desk pausing to murmur, "Thank you." before slipping out the door despite the press to escape. Kalia sighed as she glanced at her schedule, even though it was well into the first semester. She often got weird looks for it but since she had been going to school for more years then most of them realized she had stopped even attempting to memorize the damned things. "Gym..." she murmured and grabbed what she needed from her locker, ditching the rest of it.
She changed quickly and while the other girls clustered in groups and gossiped she used her time to stretch out. A few simple stretches before a couple that would leave most people crying in pain. As the teacher finally came out he bellowed for order and slowly he got it. Kalia sat on the stands as he talked not really listening. "So partner up!" the teacher yelled. Kalia caught several people mumbling and the words 'Fun Run'. One partner would do punch ups or sit ups or some kind of exercise while the other ran laps. The lap count started at five and worked it's way back down to 1 before finished with one walked lap by both people in the pair to cool down.
Usually Kalia was without a partner, and just ran laps the entire time, but today one of the kids was absent and his football buddy cautiously approached her, "You got a partner?" he asked like he was swallowing a bug.
"No," she replied a little distractedly. And that seemed to settle it. Kalia agreed to run first and took off at an easy pace... for her at least. She was the first one back by over a lap and began her push ups as her partner got up and started running. The movement of the muscles was familiar and took little concentration, not to mention it was far below her normal workout routine. As a Keeper it was her job to keep an eye on possible situations and her superiors had sent her here but in the months she had been here she had seen nothing to alert her to a possible danger. Her partner returned, first in the pack, but not much farther then her initial lead had gotten them. She hopped back up and ran again picking up her pace a tiny bit in her agitation.

Kia finished packing all his stuff into his bag, just as the last of the major crowd left. Walking out of the now clear door, he was cheerfully walking to his next class, which also happened to be his favorite. If History was his least favorite, track was his best. The act of running freed his mind to think of other things, or to let the wind just pass by to cool his thoughts. Arriving at the boy's locker room, Kia shoved his backpack into a locker and changed for his track class. The other gym class was just getting started. By the time he was on the track, they where choosing partners. Not waiting for the teacher to give him an assignment of running the track, Kia just started to run. He was clearly faster than all those already running the track, except for one person that seemed to have been keeping pace with him. Surprisingly, it was the same girl from his other class. She must have gotten a similar schedule as he did. As she ran the track for her second time, Kia decided to approach her, "So, following me are you?" He was a short distance away, and pushed a little to close the gap so she could hear him. He had a sly smirk on his face, as he was just joking around. After a moment to give her a responce, he then continued on, "You know, your running form is really good. Have you considered joining the track team?"
