Well let's see. Sorry i cannot entice you with some fancy banners, i simple lack the talent, or resources for them. But i promise, one day i will make this place a little more... attractive? As of June 22nd -i think- anyone is aloud to post and give critique on this idea. I really want to try and perfect it enough to make it plausible for the guild. ;3

♫ open up to me :: Dune Howes isn’t one to be seen as ‘interesting,’ or as someone who is adventurous in most cases. He is exceptionally lazy as well as a hopeless slob most of the time, which may explain why his apartment consists of endless clutter instead of being neat and tidy. In all actuality Dune hardly does anything active besides working, he loathes getting stressed by unnecessary things which includes just about everything. He also tends to have random panic attacks which basically entail him freaking out over any and every little problem he comes across, therefore the only way for him to solve a problem is either to face it head-on or ignore it completely. Some people have seen him in his more natural ‘wear and tear’ attitude; being slightly sarcastic and occasionally vindictive, but once you get to know him, he really can show his compassionate side.

Glacier
♫ what i write down :: Kaolin (also known as- Kaol)
♫ age is only a number :: unknown. [depends on stage]- but i'm using child form for now.

♫ which do you hope i am? :: unknown. [sexuality?]
♫ take away the curtains :: Kaol isn't what most expect from an ice based dust. She's not pale and sickly- nor is she rigid and emotionless like the lore of the vampires (or bloodsuckers). No, if you were to take a gander at her appearance you would no that she is nothing less than drop dead gorgeous. Her hair is rooted with deep blue tint and flows out into a light sky blue. Kaolin's eyes are filled to the brim with a swirling mixture of black and cerulean. Almost like a mixture of diluted water. The dustling's face is normally always adorned with a cruel snarl- and a rude comment to follow. Atop of her head lies a crystalized tiara- not very big but showy enough to show others that she treats herself as royalty. This frozen-like dust's dress is lined with dark grey, and the lacy inside is combined of various shades of blues ranging from a deep dark blue to a light cornflowerblue. The lace is light enough to be seen from a distance, but not light enough for wandering eyes to see through the skimpy fabric. Also, if you look closely, the lace is fashioned with designs resembling complicated yet, entrancingly beautiful snowflakes. Her skin is a stunningly paper white, and seems to reflect more upon the essence of the snow than anything else. This evil-hearted dust also seems to have time with her nails on her hand which seem to be extended about a couple of inches or so- to that of normal nails. Almost as though they were fake. Each nail is painted permanently with a deep rich sky blue and has shiny diamond-like jewels glittering off of each nail. Her toenails seem to reciprocate the pattern from Kaolin's hand-nails. But they aren't extended out of the norm. [In later stages -unless artist decided otherwise- i was hoping to have a light blue scarf along with the girl] (( I know it is sketchy now. But i will add more later when i have more ideas/input ))

She hardly listens to anyone, and prefers to make her own rules for the life around her. Kaol is constantly noticed for her stubbornness and she has a hard time believing she would ever be wrong. Most of her personality is derived from the fact that she cannot trust anyone, and the dustling will lash out in anger to try and make sure she doesn’t falter in that promise to herself. She basically prides herself on being sarcastic, and always wanting attention.

The Reason.
Well first and foremost, i really like this shop. It caught my attention way back when Ama ( n e v e r l a n d - x x ) got Krinn into a child. I didn't know about it until she showed me the art of Krinn. I use to roleplay, more like quick stories with friends. Nothing like the stuff i see in the shops. Therefore, when i saw Life Dust, met the people, gazed at the art. I knew. I knew that i wanted a dust, and that i would get one. I know i may be to over-bearing. But most know me was the one who is never forward with what he wants- and i want this. I am willing to work, get better at my skills, sharpen my concept up, and just keep the thread alive. I adore this shop to much to just give up on the first or second try. Yeah, maybe i didn't win the Dew or Sunshine bottle. And i obviously didn't get my original concept idea (Amethyst Crystal) or the Swamp dust. But i gave all of them my best shots. And i have gotten better at quite a few things since my first entry for Dew. I won't give up, because even when i feel discouraged- the moment of getting my first dust will be worth it to me. I know i will take care of him/her, roleplay as much as i can, and always participate in any event i can. Because this shop means a little more than just writing. It means friends, experience, and to me- it means opportunity.

▐▐ Dust’s Personality:▐▐ Arrogant to the very bone, Kaol doesn’t take nonsense from anyone, and is always the one leading a group, never following. She hardly listens to anyone, and prefers to make her own rules for the life around her. Kaol is constantly noticed for her stubbornness and she has a hard time believing she would ever be wrong. ▐▐ Dust’s Appearance: ▐▐ When one first acknowledges the Dustling Kaolin; they immediately recognize that she is a rather short individual. Her hair rests at the middle of her back and normally stays that way. It starts as a light silver-like color and feeds out to a deep rich purple with the tips more vibrant than the rest of the hair. Kaol also wears a pendant that is a deep purple color, it occasionally glows vibrant shades of Amethyst.

The waves crashed and lapped at the sandy shore while a little girl sat and watched nature’s scenery. As the breeze swept by, her purple and white hair began dancing along her face as the salty air became more prominent, opposed to the previous scent of hot dogs from down the street. The girl crinkled her nose in surprise due to the difference in scent. As she returned to looking out across the vast expanse of sea she felt a slight change in temperature while a shadow began to loom above her. In a flurry of movement, body parts and sand were flung everywhere as a pair of sturdy hands held the girl down. Immediately the riled adolescent girl glanced up to try and see the attacker, who was none other than her guardian; Dune.
”Uhm, excuse me. Is there a problem?” Kaolin- better known as Kaol- spat at the intruding caretaker. Her guardian who was refusing to release the dustling answered in a mildly agitated voice, ”Yeah, you‘re the problem Kaol.” Before the Amethyst dust could retort or react to what he had said, Dune cut her off- ”You can’t just go and do that, you know the rules… and this is definitely breaking them.” Kaol batted her eyes for a minute trying to feign innocence, ”Whatever do you mean, Dune?” Obviously irritated the young man closed his eyes trying to –maintain being calm or so Kaol had been told - before beginning to try and specify his previous statement. ”Kaol don’t try and play games with me, you know what I mean,” he paused then raised his voice- ”The girl from across the street, her mom talked to me today… well more like yelled at me. As soon as I came home from work, she ran over to me and practically tore my ear off.”
The dustling produced a devious smile for a second, signifying how pleased she was, but then tried to hide the facial movement quickly. One glance to her disappointed guardian’s face and she knew her attempt was not successful. Trying to budge her head to move away from his gaze, the Amethyst Dust was straining to look around Dune and watch the ocean. Unfortunately Dune wasn’t letting her move, at all. Therefore all Kaol could see was the constant crash, and receding of the tides that were behind Dune, like a sad melodic pattern; slow and painful, never stopping.
She took her gaze off of the entrancing waves and looked up at the distressed man above her. ”Well?” Kaol just blinked at the young man, and played several scenarios in her head where she was beating Dune- though all of them defied the laws of nature. Just get to the point already. He waited, impatiently tapping his fingers against her tanned shoulders for an answer. With no reply he exhaled noisily and fixed the girls multi-colored hair to perfection.
Kaolin grinned again as Dune’s hands returned to her shoulders, immobilizing her movement yet again. He’s frustrated… perfect. She sighed, noting the immediate perk of her guardians attention at the slightest of noises. ”I really don’t know why Rachel’s mom fancies using her outside voice with you, maybe she likes you…” the dustling trailed, trying to get some sort of reaction out of Dune, any reaction. As though Dune was playing from a script he quickly yelled at the young dustling. ”Don’t get smart with me Kaol, you know what you did. When her mom came over to me today… she was yelling about how her daughter was crying as soon as you had left their house…” He waited to try and draw out some sympathy from his charge, but after a moments fleeting look he could see he was going to get nothing of the sort. ”And when she talked to her daughter… all her daughter said was that you- Kaol, put mud and bugs down her shirt as well as called her ugly and stupid…”Dune brushed sand from Kaol’s hair, and waited for a response.
The Amethyst dust looked at her caretaker for a moment, trying to irritate him, to get more of a reaction out of him. She stared into his auburn eyes, swirling with anticipation; waiting for her to say something. Kaol regained her cold judgment and began to speak, ”Well what can I say Dune, she deserved it” the dustling stated calmly. As soon as their eyes connected again, she knew she made a mistake. She had crossed the line, and she awaited the payment for it.
Surprising both Kaolin and himself, Dune spoke a lot calmer yet more forceful to the aggressive dustling. ”It doesn’t matter is she deserved it or not, but you have no right to decide whether or not she was worthy of your mistreatment,” he seethed, ”When you are invited into someone’s home, you give them the respect they deserve. You do not, and I repeat do not harass and inflict pain on them, ever. Dune stared hard into Kaol’s eyes after he was done speaking, as if it would solidify the statement he just made.
Kaol returned the stare lazily and yawned. Right when the Amethyst dust was about to retort some witty comment that both knew was coming, Dune clamped his hand onto her mouth. ”Don’t even bother, we both know what you’re going to do…” He stopped for a minute before going on- ”You know, you are just so… obnoxious… and you don’t even care. Not one bit.” The dustling opened her mouth to say something, anything to shoot back at Dune- but found nothing. Puzzled, the girl tried to think, but she just didn’t know how to respond to him. Dune’s head avoided the Amethyst dusts gaze and looked aimlessly along the ocean’s bank, lost in thought. Finally he turned back to her and said the one thing she could respond to. ”You’re grounded.”
”Why?” The dust challenged.
Dune got up off her and began walking away. Turning around to face Kaol, Dune spoke the one thing he knew that would win. ”Because I said so.”

So i decided that i'm going to leave the 'Horn of a Unicorn' idea alone for awhile. Gonna try and flesh out the 'Ice' concept some more before taking on another idea. I don't want to try and bite more off than i can chew.
Need help with deciding what type of ice figure should it be.
Snowflake and Glacier were just two i could think of.
Snowflake- There wasn't really much behind this idea except that fact of being real beautiful (even with a nasty attitude) and that was kind of it.
Glacier- The Glacier idea was a tad more fleshed out. I was thinking of using this one because Glaciers are very big, majestic, and threatening (in the looks department at least). Also they hardly ever melt, which could infer to the whole "She's going to be a cold 'b***h' and she's going to stay that way' idea. It'd also show that she'd be a force to be reckoned with, and not just some ugly pale dust. Something really beautiful that will have people second glancing at her.
Now i guess within some reasoning i may change the specifics of the Glacier or Snowflake idea. It could be an Icicle- something cold, and hard as well as, sharp and piercing. Which would definitely fit Kaolin's personality. But again i need some sort of critique on this.
Over the next few days i will continue to try and flesh out Guardian ideas, appearances, etc. Thank you.~

Wow, i really need to start fleshing out information. Dx But i'm making a mental goal to do it as soon as the event is over, if not before.
But, the main reason why i am writing this post is because i have an idea that may be good for a dust.
-pauses-
My idea was: black ice
Duh duh duh... XD But no, i mean i still need to flesh it out a little. But i think i may be able to create a good concept out of it... or at least get some more practice by trying on it.
Again, critique is loved- though i still need to throw everything up there.

Created and posted skeletons for Kaolin's and Dune's itinerary.
Then plugged in the personalities from before into it. Also added some new information.
I changed the title to fit it more. (Nothing snazzy though)
Also i put Black Ice as an option for myself. Still i need to clean the wiki-posts up a bit. And write what i am going to do with it.

Well today i finally soldified my original idea- and decided to jut make the dust, a Glacier dust. <3
Seeing Ravina Loki, and Snowlynx win the Citrus and Seashell dusts today really inspired me to work harder on my idea.
Even if the next contest doesn't have a CC, -though i hope it does- it can't hurt to work on my concept and get better grip on LD. ;3
I will add more before i get off.
Basically finished off Kaolin's bio. Will probably touch it up, and i may change her outfit/outfit description. But it was just an idea, and i can't really think of another outfit yet. But i will not give up! ;3
I added color codes. gray for Dune and cornflowerblue for Kaolin.
