(( Meis and Tihr :: Feb 19 09 ))
Meis stepped out into the clearing and looked out over the lake as the sun set in the distance. He really loved the way the light looked over the water at this time of day, and found himself smiling at the reflections. He was waiting for someone, and that was something to do. Meis lived for purpose, even if that purpose was waiting.
He didn't hum or say anything... just sat there at the water's edge watching the sun get lower and lower in the sky.
Tihr approached quietly, sitting behind the other and curling his tail over his toes, tilting his head as his ears perked forward. "You called?" Came his smooth voice, and an ear flicked back. He was unused to hearing his own voice, as Rune had taught him to listen before speaking. Ah, what he would have been like without Rune! Despite the situation, he found himself missing Mange - even though the Jivvin never smiled - but stayed strong. He couldn't rely on the other's company forever, even though they grew up side by side. Despite the situation, he found himself missing Mange - even though the Jivvin never smiled - but stayed strong. He couldn't rely on the other's company forever, even though they grew up side by side. Meis turned and smiled at the other jivvin. He'd not heard Tihr approaching because he'd been too intent on the colouring in the sky, and he mentally beraded himself over his lack of attention.
"I did." His voice was as even as his smile. Not that he didn't mean it, but the smile was more of a placewarmer than warm. "I called you and Trory. It was mentioned to me by.... someone" He wasn't really open to discussing his family. "That I wasn't very sociable. I thought that might be a problem that my brothers could fix." He stood and stretched, his smile fading into something more warm. "Trory couldn't make it today, he had other things to do."
"I just... I thought we could talk, or swim, or just sit... I don't want to be a 'stone face'." He wouldn't admit it, but being called a stone face had really hit him hard.
Tihr flicked an ear back, and then forward again, a curious expression on his face. "Other things to do? Hn." he blinked, tilting his head. "You don't look stone to me. Kanth has gargoyles on her property and they have stone faces moreso than yours." He moved forward to sit beside his brother, his tail thumping on the ground and remaining there. "We haven't spoken much. I don't know you well at all." Rune taught him to guard his emotions - a good thing, considering he was so brash and outspoken when younger - which made him react a bit slower to things. He let a smile spread on his face though, warm and inviting unlike Meis' placeholder smile. "We can fix that. If you'd like." Tihr did like company, and he turned his full attention on the other, ears perking all the way forward. His interest was piqued.
Meis' smile warmed significantly when it seemed that Tihr wasn't going to be hostile towards him... not that he always assumed that others were going to react in a hostile way... it's just kind of what he was used to from the jivvins that he did know. He held back on what his brain wanted him to say (something else he'd learned from life), which was that of course he wanted Tihr's help... that's why he was here, after all. He settled, instead, on a simple "Yes. I would like that. Not to mention the fact that I'd also like to get to know you better. It's becoming apparent that there aren't that many jivvins who actually know who their blood relatives are."
Tihr's ears flicked back, and then forward again. "That is strange. Perhaps ours will be useful. I have not seen my parents in ages. Rune's the only one that's raised me." He sighed, looking sheepish. "But I would like to hang around with you more." His paw scraped at the ground, as he didn't know what else to say.
Meis stood, smilling, and turned to face his brother. "Perhaps." He knew that it would be awkward for a while, but that all of it would work itself into something more familiar and natural. "I'm no stranger to awkwardness" He shook his head slowly, before turning and walking towards Tihr. "This will be good. And we really should know more about each other... like what we like, what we do... that kind of thing." nod nod. "For example... I like bananas. I don't know why, they just taste really really good. And I read. A lot." Meis smiled at Tihr. "I like to fight." Tihr murmured, ears perking forward with interest before flicking back again, his paw digging into the ground sheepishly. "I mean, fairly, of course. Not to scrap or anything." He smiled. "I hope in Quen form I will learn to use swords." His eyes showed interest in the other. "I have not tried bananas. What do they taste like?"
"I can fight" Meis brightened at that statement. "Reik taught us. She's very good at it! She taught me and Gobyap at the same time, though Gobyap is better. I've never given any thought to actual weaponry though... My claws and teeth have been enough so far." He allowed the thought to roll around in his head, savouring the idea of himself with sowrds... he'd heard about fourther stage, but had only seen it personally once or twice. "I might like to try that too if I ever grow again..." He nodded and smiled again, much more at ease now. "And how can you have never had a banana before? I'll have to bring one for you the next time we talk like this, because I can't really explain it... banana is a flavour... it's the only thing in the whole world that tastes like itself." He shrugged.
Oooh, another person to spar with! "Yes, teeth and claws are nice, but Rune always taught me..." He dug at the ground again, curling his tail around his lower half. "He always taught me not to rely on those if I could help it, because they might not always be available for my use. I could be rendered helpless, see." He sniffed slightly, as if put out. "If we get to be Quen, then I would like to spar with you, sometime." He smiled. "I would love to try one. How can something taste like itself?" He wondered aloud, sticking his tongue between his teeth and huffing. "How strange."

He wondered aloud, sticking his tongue between his teeth and huffing. "How strange."
"That would be incredible." Tihr looked excited now, trying to contain his joy. "Why can't you use something in its own definition? That's rather strange." He shrugged, not quite understanding himself. "Perhaps we should go search for some?"
"Yeah," Meis agreed in a monotone more normal for him, and he turned motioning with his head off down the path behind them. "I bet there's one at the jivvin center. We could head there." As he started walking he tried to remember what it was that Reik had said about deffinitions... "I think... I think it's because if you don't know what something means, then you can't use it to describe what it means because you won't be anyt farther along... like I can't say that Bananas taste like bananas because that doesn't help you understand any better what I mean." That sounded about right to him.
Enlightenment showed in the Sargtlin's eyes. "It's kind of like saying that blueberries taste like jam, only it doesn't, really." His ears fell. "Wait." That didn't make sense at all. Tihr grinned sheepishly. "Perhaps I should wait to try it first. Maybe it would be better if you described the texture? If it's hard or squishy, or something like that?" He tapped his tail, closing his eyes and breathing in. "I can wait, though. I think we're confusing ourselves." He gave a light laugh. "Have you been to the Jivvin center before? I haven't seen you much... I honestly don't know much about you," He admitted. "No, not much." He shook his head to punctuate the statement. "Though I intend to change that. I don't see many other jivivns, really, and I need to change that. You included." He paused a moment to think about bananas. "Squishy. Bananas I mean. You can step on them or squish them in your teeth quite easily, though they're chewy as well.... but squshy, deffinitely squishy."
"I like sweet things. But I will try bananas." He smiled. "Perhaps I will take you to my favorite dessert place. My treat." He thumped his tail again for punctuation. "Have you tried many sweet things before?"
"A few..." Meiser admitted, "But there's not usually a lot of sweet things in the house, so I don't get them often." He shrugged. "Mostly fruit and such. I like hotdogs too." He smiled at that. Not only were hotdogs good to eat, they were easy enough to cook without thumbs. "You know... " He was changing the subject as his mind changed, a trait that proved him to be truly socially awkward. "You say you can't wait for Quen form because you'll be able to use thumbs... I think the first thing I'll do if I ever manage to get thumbs like Reik, is stand in front of the stove and make an actual meal, with meat and potatoes and vegetables and all kinds of flavors and such... all by myself."

(( april 13 2006 )) [404NotFound] (Methinks I'll just start one... xD)
It hadn't been long since Reik had acquired her small, defenseless jivvin egg, and already her insolent imp was attempting to eat it. Gobyap, the imp by the way, had set about trying to crack open the thick shell and light the base on fire. Of course, Reik had noticed and was quite upset about it.
The undead woman stood tall in her black and purple robe, her empty black eyes narrowed and a frown on what remained of her lips. "Is listening to me truthfully that hard, my minion?" She said calmly, but her voice was laced with venom.
The imp chittered and backflipped a small ways away, his eyes glittering with mischeif and amusement. He was still focussing on the black egg, with light stripes, that was sitting at his Master's feet.
"At times I wish you would listen to me," Reik muttered, but she herself was no longer mad. Giving a sigh she stooped down to pick up the egg and check it for harm. She was near to the center, and would rather not have someone appear and see her new child already scratched up. "You will not eat this creature, I do not care -how- hungry you are, you little pest. I wasn't too bothered by your futile attempts to eat the cat... but this is a different matter." [404NotFound] (NOTE: Reik is an undead warlock.... XD Yes, I'm using a character based off of my World of warcraft character. xP She is the caretaker of Meiser, child of Fenwrit and Misae. =3) [404NotFound] Gobyap chittered in distress and flopped on the ground, muttering rude comments in the demonic language. Reik laughed under her breath, though it turned into more of a dry rasp than a cheery chuckle. "Come, imp. Let's go into the Jivvin Center, try to familarize ourselves with some others." She said, waving a clawed hand towards Gobyap. He bounded forward, doing a small acrobatics show as he walked.
Reik chuckled again and followed him, her egg nestled gently in the nook of her arm. She had been surprised when Morogue had spoken to her of it, but she was pleased that she had agreed to care for the jivvin. Though she seemed to have her hands full with her imp, and occasionally the others that she could summon, having something furry wouldn't be bad for a change. [404NotFound] There was a loud 'FWUMP' when the imp came into contact with the door, having shot at it at high speeds. The door splintered slightly and caved in at the point of collision, but managed to not break. Quite upset about this, Gobyap began to chitter and curse the door in the Demonic language.
Heaving a sigh of annoyance, Reik stepped forward and opened the door, then scooped up her haywire imp with her other hand. "If you cannot control yourself, you rotten little beast, I will be forced to dismiss you. Aelneri would be fond of meeting new people, perhaps even Graz'zazt."
Gobyap quickly curled up into a ball and tried to act sweet, and cute by posing ridiculously. The forsaken warlock shook her head and mumbled under her breath, before stepping into the center. "Greetings," Murmured Mange's voice, but he didn't even glance up. The doll did it for him, in jerky movements, rudimentary eyes focusing on the newcomers. Rune made no movement.

(( Brothers:: ))
Alexander Edward's face frowned even deeper that usual as he recognized the sports car pulling into the drive. The man who stepped out of the driver's seat glanced up at Alex, muttered a hello and then calmly walked around to the passneger seat and unbuckled two little girls. It ocured to Alexander that Jen knew him well enough not to ask for help, and on the same theme, Alexander had no intention of offering it. He sighed. The arrival of Jen and his daughters, cute as they were, meant that the house was going to be over run with two small skull monkey girls, Keppit's two youngest sons who were mid teen, and the newest bundle of joy to the house.... Amahli... Alexander snuffed his disgust and glared at Jen as the man led his daughters in through the front door. As they passed, Keera pointed at Alex and said "Alex doggy" with a grin. Alexander promptly stood and paced off into the woods. Anything was better than his mother's house today.

Rusty shook his head at Luke. "I can't believe what you're saying to me." And he meant it. He never lied to Luke because he and his brother shared a minimal bond, making feelings stronger between them... Luke would have been able to tell if Rusty was lying. "you honestly think that you might want to move away from Lily and Calvin?" And me, his statement unfinished outloud, rang painfully in his head.
"Of course." Luke wasn't trying to hurt Rusty's feelings, he honestly thought that this was something they needed to think about... they were both adults after all, and Lily had been a loner all her life. It was good to think about striking out on thier own... kind of. "What do you think will happen when you fall in love? There's got to be a pretty jivvin out there who thinks you're the only Rusted out Green man for her." He stiffled a laugh and prepared to fend off Rusty's objections.
Rusty didn't object however, since he knew how Luke worked. Instead, he just frowned at what he considered to be the handsome pink version of himself and walked from the room. They'd be having this conversation again, later when Luke was feeling less funny.

Kamin grinned up at his older brother from the stool where he sat. "What happened to this stool? Wasn't it about a foot taller when I was here last?" He kicked his feet out in front of him comically as if to show the height difference.
"That's the one that broke. I told you about it two weeks ago." Fluff was a wonderful example of everlasting patience, especially when it came to Kamin, and he just kept chopping the vegetables on the counter in front of him.
"Oh" Kamin kicked his legs back and forth a few times, more because he could than for any other reason, and then he spun quickly in a circle on the stool twice before bringing his attention back to his brother. He grabbed a peice of bell pepper off the cutting board and popped it in his mouth, talking around the vegetable. "I would have thought you'd have thrown it out."
Fluff reached out and and picked up a second chunk of pepper that Kamin had knocked to the counter. "It was only one leg, and I can't see throwing out a chair if I can fix it by making it smaller." He chucked the peice of pepper into a bowl. "And you shouldn't talk with your mouth full, it won't get you many friends."
"I have all kinds of friends." Kamin grabbed at another peice of pepper but was fended away by a quick and precise hand slap from Fluff. The younger jivvin grinned at his brother... this was the way it was supposed to be. "Did you see that new recruit in Gal's ranks? She's goregeous."
Fluff just smiled.

Satou leaned against the railing of the arena and smiled to herself as she watched the newer members of an Uuthli rank sparring under careful watch. Gus shifted beside her and gasped as one of the larger young men dealt a particulalry harsh blow on his opponent, knocking the other male to the dirt floor. Satou grinned again, remembering her first sparring matches.
As if he could read her mind, Gus turned to her. "You actually used to do that? Stand in the arena and hit each other with dull swords?" He just couldn't wrap his head around it... he didn't even like playing with swords back when he and Jen were kids... of course, playing swords with Jen meant getting smacked in the tail alot with sticks. "It seems... harsh?"
Satou laughed and shifted her weight onto her other leg. "Would you rather they go out into the woodlands with the Ssan without having any practice at all? They'd all be eaten right off."
"I suppose..." He let the thought sink in. Of course it made sense to let them practice, make them practice even... but it still wasn't something he thought back fondly on. "You remember when Jen used to make up play swords with him?"
Satou sighed... "Jen never made me do anything. I don't think he even ever asked me to play swords with him." She didn't blame Jen of course... she'd been remarkably hateful towards both Jen and Gus when they were all little.
"You didn't miss much." Gus grinned over at his sister, and laughed when she grinned back.

Meiser had known the jivvin was approaching long before the other jivvin even knew he was there. He also knew from an almost maplike sense, that the other jivvin's name was Elayeth... So he was waiting quietly in the bushes.
Elayeth wasn't making an effort to hide his approach, in fact he was doing exactly the opposite, making sure to step on each and every stick as he walked. He was finding more and more lately that he had to get away from his house, and his family. He was remarkably lost in his thoughts when Meis' voice startled him.
"Elayeth, is it?" recently he had discovered that he liked being able to startle others with his knowledge. They usually seemed to think that when he knew their name he also knew everything about them. He didn't, but they almost always gave themselves away very soon after. "What brings you out here tonight?"
Elayeth frowned at the black jivvin in front of him and forced himself not to ask the obvious question. "I'm getting away from my family. Not that it's any of your business... creepy black jivvin in the dark, was it?"
Meiser smiled, and then laughed at Elayeth's face. There was somthing about this red jivvin that he liked imiediately... maybe it was his attitude. "I'm Meis." He shrugged as if that explained everything. Really though, it did explain everything... Meis kind of deffined who he was, but noting who he was not... that left a lot to choose from. "I only wish that I had an excuse like that... I don't really have any family." He said it almost wistfully... like he regreted that fact.
"Oh really? You're lucky then. I have a brother who treats me like dirt, and a woman who doesn't really love me but wants me to call her mom.... oh, and a stupid little sister who hates me." Elayeth's words were bitter, and strangely cultivated.
"Oh I have brothers... they just have no idea who I am. We grew up in different families."
"Lucky you."
