Emmaline Peace looked dreamily around the huge warehouse room full of mattresses. There were a few beds made up as examples of the lovely things you could do with a mattress like add high threadcount sheets and make it all pretty. But mostly it was just a massive space filled up with naked discount mattresses. She smiled down at the little blue boy who was clutching her hand, peering around curiously.
"Now, Darsh." Emma knelt down so that she was at eye-level to him. "We have to pick you out a mattress 'cause Max says that you need a real bed." Which was entirely true. The boy had been bunking with Max while a room was set up for him. And as much as her brother adored his new son, he was ready to have his room back. "So you've gotta find one thats comfortable."
"How?" Darsh asked, sticking his fingers in his mouth.
"You gotta try 'em out, silly!" Em said, standing. "Go on!"
Unsure, Darsh went to the nearest mattress and climbed up on it, looking at Em with a "What the hell do I do now?" Expression.

Shiraz liked the idea of getting a new mattress. She had been sharing with Ebby for a while, since Dartie wasn't really expecting to get a kid and the family kept saying they'd take the panda out to find her one and then didn't. Now the woman had barked at her gets to get gone and do it already, so now a pair of young girls, followed by a red skinned teenager were entering the warehouse.
Ebby grinned down at the monotone child toddling beside her. "You'll like finding a mattress, Shiraz. You can try and see which ones are best to bounce on!" This was met with a skeptical look but a slight smile from the littler girl as she walked along beside her sibling.

Emma was trying to convince Darsh to bounce on the mattresses while he looked at her dubiously. He wiggled his but a little and frowned. It didn't seem all that bouncy to him. The flash of black and white distracted him from his aunt and he peered around Emmaline in order to get a better look at the group that had just entered the mattress warehouse. "Bear." He muttered under his breath, watching the little girl who appeared to be about his age with a lazy sort of curiosity.

Shiraz's sister was actually the first to spot Darsh. Ebony had an eye for everything pretty and a little blue skinned boy counted in her book (but then, so did everything.)
"Oh, cute! Look, Shi', he's little just like you. Let's go say hi!" the girl suggested before half dragging the panda over towards Emma and Darsh.
"Hihi!" she greeted pleasantly, "Are you guys here to try and test the mattresses toooo?" the child asked pleasantly.
The panda stared first up at Ebony like she was crazy and then turned to look at Darsh and wave a bit at him. Well, at least he didn't look like a hyper nutjob. Ebby was nice but she was crazy.

Emma smiled at the pretty purple girl warmly. "Yep! We're testing out mattresses!"
For his part, Darsh smiled slowly at Shiraz and waved back in a way that conveyed an appealing shyness that he didn't actually feel. "Bounce." He said to her. That was what Emma had told him to do, after all.

"Oh cooooooool. We were gonna too." Ebby said, releasing Shiraz's hand and climbing onto a nearby one to jump happily. "Whee!"
Shiraz just shook her head a bit and climbed onto the bed to sit there and look around the room at all the odd people. Well, till her sister's bounce caused the panda to be lifted up a bit on the bed. Oof?

Emma immediately joined Ebby on the bed, bouncing enthusiastically. "See, Darsh? Like this?"
Like that? Darsh glanced at the panda girl and climbed unsteadily to his feet on his own mattress. "Bounce?" He asked her, giving a tentative jump. Huh. That was actually kinda fun! His smile broadened like a sunrise. "Bounce!" He said again, gesturing for Shiraz to come join him.

Ebby squealed and giggled, jumping around. "Yes, come on Shiraz!'
The panda stared at them all like they were nuts, but it's hard to maintain a look of seriousness or composure when one is being jostled about on a bed and ends up upside down with their legs in the air.
After scrambling about a bit, the girl managed to finally get herself situated upright and stood to try and jump - and promptly fell over again. "Eep!" Okay so it was kinda fun, though odd.

Giving a wild leap that he didn't quite manage to land, Darsh began giggling. He grinned at the panda and then pointed at himsef. "Darsh!" He pronounced proudly. He hadn't bothered to learn more than a few words yet, but his name was one that he was very familiar with.

Wobbling and scrambling a bit more, Shiraz finally managed to get herself upright again. After the blue boy gave his name, the panda smiled a bit and pointed back at herself, deciding to return the gesture.
"Sh'raz." she commented, bouncing up and down on the bed.

"Shaz." Darsh said in a reasonably close approximation of her name as he leapt towards her exuberantly. Bouncing up and down he giggled and grabbed for one of her hands. "Ring around the rosie!" The boy exlaimed. He'd only recently learned the song and had been singing it to the dogs constantly. Unfortunately, the dogs didn't know how to play.

The girl snorted and took his hand "'llright. They play to or no?" she asked, pointing up at Ebby and Emma. The former was still happily bouncing around, completely oblivious to what was happening.

"No." Darsh said firmly. "Us." He started twirling slowly in a circle with Shiraz, beaming at the panda girl.

Shiraz smiled a little at that, bouncing around pleasantly with him. Darsh seemed nice enough and they were playing together in a fun place. So, in the panda's mind, he was okay at present.
"You do song?" she asked, slightly embarrassed that she didn't know all the words and probably couldn't sing them correctly anyway.

"O-Kay!" Darsh grinned. He hadn't actually sung the song for anyone besides the dogs but Darsh was not a shy boy at all. At least not once he got comfortable and decided that someone should adore him. Then again, Darsh was of the opinion that the whole world should adore him. He started bouncing a little harder and began warbling. "Ring 'round teh rosies! Pockets full of posies! Ashes! Ashes! Well all falled down!"
At that last he gave a big bounce and then pulled them both to tumble down on the mattress.
