I don't know if this is a good topic for the animal guild, but do y'all think that the Loch Ness Monster exsists? What about dragons, unicorns, did they exsist once?

My reasoning is this:
In every culture around the world, there is a mention of a dragon or a unicorn. Every one. Japan, China, even the Native Americans had their dragons and unicorns. Granted, they didn't call them that, but they all had some key elements in them. Perhaps scholars found dinosaur bones and called them dragons. Perhaps a goat was born with it's horns twisted together, and was called a unicorn.

But, do you think that we'll ever discover anything big (not insects, although they are interesting) as a new species on earth?

actually I think all fictional characters exsisted at one point. how else would we come up with them. the japanses believe in dragons and talking cats and other things...the egyptions had the sphinx. then theres nessy and bigfoot and..like..a few others but yeah I believe strongly that they exist

I am certain that these creatures do exist.
I think that all these creatures you mentioned ARE out there someplace, it's just that we have not really found them. And especially with all the chaos, media, TV, computers, and other distractions we have it makes it hard for us to pay attention to these creatures. Back centuries ago, people were more in tuned with nature so I think they got the opportunity to see these mystical animals.

I've also heard multiple testimonies of people seeing things these creatures.

I don't know, honestly.

I think they might exist, but not to normal people. Meaning, they could exist in an ethereal realm. When humanity was still full of magic and gods and nature, people were more in tune with things, as mentioned earlier. Perhaps these priests, priesteses, and other religious people were more consciously aware of beings like unicorns, dragons, and the like, especially when they went into meditation. It's like some people insisted their were gods, and if you look out all over the world, each culture had their own pantheon, which means they must have existed to them, but they were obviously not visible to the normal person without deep religious practice or dedication.

The Loch Ness monster is not real. Someone a long time ago admitted that they created the "monster" by gluing monster-like parts to a remote-controlled submarine. Though I seem to be the onlly person who's ever heard that; no one I've ever mentioned this to seems to have heard it before.

As for dragons, the ancient Chinese found dinosaur bones and believed them to be the bones of dragons, so that might be where it originated. However, we can hardly say that dragons don't or have never existed....It's pretty difficult to prove. xd Therefore, dragon fanatics like me can keep dreaming.

Of course Nessie is out there, its a dinosaur that never got extinct. Some think it's a plesiosaurous and others a carborasaurous. A plesio is like that pokemon, lapras but without the shell. A carborasaurous is like a huge sea snake with 2 flippers in the middle of it's body and a tail with webbings, it's face is like an eel mixed with a snake mixed with a dragon. Others such as Bigfoot are real, but bigfoot is probably just a orangutan with a growth spurt. A phoenix is probably a golden eagle that sparkles when it's near the sun, and the sun probably makes it look red, and people say theres dust coming from it when it flies, but it disappears before it touches the ground, those are probably just dirt, small leaves, or water. The liger is just a crossbreed, i don't know why people say it's a legend... they have it at a zoo for pete's sake... Now aliens.... not sure about them... they seem pretty real, but no hard evidence... there's one, the alien metal, the one they found at the roswell crash, its a certain metal that cannot be burned, cut, or anything, it won't break, but, it has light as aluminum foil and wrinkles like it too, if you crumple it in ur hand, it'll be like crumpling paper, but when you let go, it goes back to it's original flat rectangle form, kinda cool.

sorry for the long post <(-_-')>

for the lock ness part, you're talking about the sergeon's photo(srry, bad spelling), its just a photo. It was taken by this guy who told a famous respected sergeon to claim it. He didn't create the whole nessie story, nobody has, but a lot of people contribute to it, like saying there were sightings and stuff. Nobody ever really started it.

a unicorn might have existed in prehistoric days, but they don't exist now or didn't even exist at all. If you have seen one thats on the ground, it's probably a hoax, a farmer who sergically implanted a horn onto a horse. and whats the dif between a unicorn and pegasous, unicorn=horn pegasous=wings but the unicorn has wings too.... The dragon obviously existed but by a dif. name, its a dinosaur. Back in the olden/medeval times, not all the dinosaurs died so they still roamed but the knights killed them and feasted on them not knowing or caring they were endangered, heck, i would kill em too if they were waking me up at 3 in the morning... well, anyways, they would call them "dragons" and they made articles and drawings of them which was discovered in mondern days. They said they breathe fire, but actually, it's that when the dinosaurs breath on you, it's very hot(try blow on your hands closely, they're hot...) so they said it was fire more than steam when they told their stories to the villagers because it sounded more exciting and whatnot.

they didnt discover anything "big" for SURE, but they have discovered RODs which are they bugs that don't fly in the air, but swim, they're very aerodynamic and are like a stick with jellfish like wings on the sides that move back and forth like a snake or the waves of the ocean, but they at first thought it was an alien because there was this video shot of people at a wedding and there were RODs swimming around peoples faces but usually when bugs go in front of our faces, we usually "shoo" 'em off, but the people there didn't even see notice them.

Wow. This is all really interesting. Do you have any sources for these by chance, Katamari? I'd really like to read up on these a bit more. You know, about the Roswell thing, about the dinosaurs in medieval times, etc.

We can never say for certain what has happened in the far flung past, granted, we have archiological findings but still, do we know for certain what has happened in the past? I think not.
