people I have info on Poseidon here it goes:
Poseidon, Lord of the Seas,
Known by Many Names,
Earth-Shaker,
Rain-God, Cloud-Gatherer,
And Poseidon of the Thunderbolt.
The Mighty Poseidon, the Greek god also
known as the Roman god Neptune
also razz oseidon was powerful, decisive, competitive, and dignified. It was very important to stay on his "good side", for he was also moody and irascible, quick to take offense, and made a hobby out of taking his revenge out on those who angered him.
Punishing Odysseus for blinding his gigantic one-eyed son Cyclops (never mind that Cyclops and his gang had shipwrecked Odysseus and his crew, looted the ship, and were planning to eat them all!), Poseidon spend eight years getting even with him, causing earthquakes, storms at sea, and throwing horrendous sea monsters in his path.

additional info: when athens was founded, Poseidon attempted to be patron to the city, and promised riches through trade to the athenians, but athene gifted them with the olive tree and thereby won their favor. Poseidon was the father of Theseus and many sea creatures. he created the dolphin and the horse

the cyclops mentioned above was named "polyphemus" and i may post the story of how odysseus escaped from him at a later time

good job fenrir you've studied very well. I guess I forgot some minoring info. oh also Odysseus in 1 tale stabbed Polyphemus eye and made him go blind. when Polyphemus asked who are you he said something along the lines of no one or somebody,I kind of forgot that. he he. then when Polyphemus went out side touching the walls as a guide, he opened the rock making it possible for Odysseus to escape. and then another tale is that Odysseus and his 30 some odd men escaped by riding on the bottom of Polyphemus sheep which because they were monsters were big. They hid on there under belly. what fun. that would really smell because caves are not well insulated. then since some say they were Argonauts( which i disagree. Jason was an Argonaut,captain)so they climbed on there ship. the name is not well know but hey us humans don't know everything. Sorry feny you can more detail this better if you wish i just did an outline.

Poseidon was married to the nereid Amphirite, daughter of the Old Man of the Sea, Nereus. Although there were various rivers personified as gods, these would have been technically under Poseidon's sway.
In dividing heaven, the watery realm and the subterranean land of the dead, the Olympians agreed that the earth itself would be ruled jointly, with Zeus as king. This led to a number of territorial disputes among the gods. Poseidon vied with Athena to be patron deity of Athens.
The god demonstrated his power and benevolence by striking the Acropolis with his three-pronged spear, which caused a spring of salt water to emerge. Athena, however, planted an olive tree, which was seen as a more useful favor. Her paramount importance to the Athenians is seen in her magnificent temple, the Parthenon, which still crowns the Acropolis. The people of Athens were careful, all the same, to honor Poseidon as well.

did you for get time time he tried to over throguht zeus was being a bad leader.he used the golden net like hephaestus used on ares and aphroditewhen he cought them togehter.he wouldnt let zeus out till he swore in the river styx to be a good leader from now on(which is something he can not brake).zeus still dosnt trust his bother after that.
