She had managed to escape from her Mama Kyuhyun's watchful eye under the pretense of playing Hide-'n'-Seek with her elder sister Hyun-Ae. And she was playing Hide-'n'-Seek, if you really thought about it... she was hiding, she just wasn't staying in one place all the time. And it really wasn't cheating, because Aeae knew that she liked to go off alone and so was going reeeeeeally slow in searching so that no-one would notice Shinyun's prolonged absence and besides since Aeae normally moved slowly anyway it wasn't really that noticeable and...
Shinyun stopped.
Pondered.
Rolled the thought over in her mind.
... and besides, she'd just go to the bend in the river by the three rocks that formed an oblong triangle and Aeae would find her there in the end 'cause that's where she always was.
Satisfied with her reasoning, the filly trotted forwards, looking for a new adventure.

Scarlet was just, once again, out and about. She tossed the idea of going out on her own adventure about in her head. All of her babies were out to achieve thier own ends, so there was no reason she shouldn't! What was tying her here, anyway? She stopped and sighed regretfully. How could she even think that. She had her home here, and her delightful two leggers. They'd all be lost without her. She flicked her tail back and forth half in sadness, half in irritation. She'd done her duty! She'd mothered two children into this world, and that was just of her own blood! She's mothered countless other foals. She deserved an adventure of her own.
She looked past her mountin range. She could see the vast sky. Oh, she wanted to know why lay under those far off clouds. She'd give anything. Well... maybe she could compromise. She'd stay rather close to home, then she'd wander off when one of her sons came back. surely she could have a wonderful adventure here! Oh, there was no doubt about it! Ah, the mountains were full of adventures!
Well, speaking of which she did believe she saw an adventure not far off. She cocked ehr head to the side. Why, she looked like her son did! And then it hit her... she didn't know all that much about winds. Or anyother breed save for Usdias. She huffed at her ignorence and trotted over. My, this was a stunning filly! Oh, Scarlet loved babies!
"Why, hello there my dear," she chirped happily once she was near enough. She flopped onto her hip and beamed brightly. "This is a bit close to the mountains for a filly to be by herself, isn't it?"

Shinyun jumped, eyes widening in fright as she squeaked in surprise.
She shook herself, regained her composure, and turned towards the speaker.
"Hello!" Her voice cracked slightly; she still hadn't quite found out how to control its vibrating tenor. "No, I don't think so, because my Mama's not very far off and besides I know exactly where they are and Aeae is somewhere around here and I think Sissy should be over there-" she gestured towards her left "- 'cause she's just weird like that and..." she took a deep breath "... and... OH! I'm so sorry! My-name-is-Shinyun-it-is-a-pleasure-to-meet-you-what-is-your-name-if-you-don't-mind-my-asking?" the polite inquiry came out in a jumbled rush as she remembered her manners... or at least, what little manners Mama had managed to drill into her thus far.
She squinted, peering curiously at the Speaker. She tilted her head to the left. Then she titled it to the right. She frowned, then smiled hesitantly.
"... How come your legs are so short?"

Scarlet grinned. She loved the to hear the ramble of babies. They were just so honest and open. They said what they meant and meant what they said. Why, she thought, if everyone were like that, then the world with be so much simpler! Though she did feel bad about scaring the poor dear. she seemed to have recovered just fine. She grinned even wider at her last jumble of words. "Why, hello there Shinyun. My name is Scarlet, and it is a pleasure to meet you too!" She beamed again.
She looked down at her legs and stretched one forward. "I'm an Usdia. We're little Soquili."

"Ohhhhh." Her eyes widened, though from delight instead of fright this time around.
She peered at the little Soquili, tracing her squatty form with quick, rapid-fire eye movements.
"So... like Soquili, but... smaller?" Her forehead wrinkled slightly as she pondered this new revelation. "So... smaller all the time? Or... or... are you always gonna be a foal?" Small Soquili = foal, in her mind.
Her wings fluttered excitedly as she did a little spin-hop, a dazzling grin plastered on her good-natured face as she gazed delightedly at her new friend. "Is that what Us-dee-ah means? Forever little Soquili? Like you'll never grow up- ever?!" She frowned, considering the mare's grown-up-sounding words. "'Cept your mind, o'course."
She grinned, shifting her weight from hoof to hoof as she awaited Scarlet's response.

Scarlet followed her lead and proformed her own little dance in place. She giggled musically like she always did and continied going in circlkes for a bit after Shinyun had stopped, wnjoying the pleasenty sense of vertigo she got after she stopped. She flopped gently onto her hip and again and giggled sfotly to herself. Now there were like, five foals instead of just one. Becasue of this tipsy sense she was unable to followe the little foals gaze.
"That's right," she confirmed happily. "I'm always small. I'll never get any bigger. But I'm not a foal. I'm just the same size." she beamed, knowing that the logic of an adult, however naive the adult was, would make little to no sense to a child.

Shinyun stopped, frowned... smiled hesitantly... brow wrinkled... ears twitched... "Oh." ... smile... frown... smile... frown...
It was completely obvious to any who cared to watch her mannerisms that she had absolutely no idea what the Us-dee-ah Scarlet had meant by that... but... she wanted to appear intelligent and so feigned understanding. "Same size. Different age. Right. Okay."
... her mind wandered; she'd already lost interest in the dwindling conversation.
She eyed the small-grown-up (grown-down?)'s posture, fluttering her wings as she pondered the strange position. Then, in a series of rapid movements, she folded her wings, flopped on her side, got up again, flopped on her rump, and settled down into what could only be described as a splay-legged sprawl.
"Are there others like you?"

Scarlet, who was alreayd chockling at Shinyun's attempts at understanding, and then faking her understanding, burst into uncontroled laughter as she tried to sit in a way that she was not made to. Scarlet's body was smaller, and she was not able to sit like the bigger Soquili were. Seeing someone who was built for sitting in a way she did not sitting in a way they should not broken Scarlet's already wavering sense of self control. She fells back in her laughter and rolled onto her stomach.
"Yes darling, there are more like me. I even have two sons. And one is trying to have foals with his mate. There are plenty more like me. All you have to do is look for us. We're there."
